5 stars for drinks, service and ambiance! Unfortunately where Park Distillery fell short was in the food department. Because of that, I'd definitely come back for a cocktail. I'd probably just hold off on returning for a meal. Our waitress was extremely sweet and attentive! We were bummed to see that there was no poutine on the menu (we had seen some poutine photos on Yelp) and she surprised us with a note that was filled with local poutine recommendations. The cocktails were fabulous. They distill their vodka and gin in house, so it was a no brainer to try a Moscow Mule with Park Distillery vodka. This was super refreshing and did not disappoint. You can also buy bottles of liquor to take home - a little pricey, but totally worth it for a cool souvenir. For eats I ordered a wedge salad and fish tacos, none of which blew me away. The wedge salad was just a large piece of lettuce covered in dressing and dill. Normally on a wedge you'd expect things like blue cheese, bacon, egg, chopped tomato. This salad had none of that and was pretty drab. The fish tacos were also just okay, really small and not much flavor. Please come here if you visit Banff! The food is good, the service is good, and the gin is good. Everything was SO good! I came here with 3 other coworkers on a Wednesday around 7:30 pm. Thankfully we had a reservation because they were packed! For appetizers were ordered the fondue and the beet hummus. Both amazing, seriously couldn't stop eating the cheese. One of my coworkers tries to eat mostly plant based so she was very excited about their Plant Based menu. She ordered the Park Veggie Bowl and it was beautiful. I ordered the quarter rotisserie chicken and was VERY surprised when two legs/thighs came out with it. I was not expecting that much chicken. I even confirmed with our waiter that this was indeed a quarter order. After all that chicken, I was not hungry for dessert but my coworkers wanted to get a couple items to split. We ordered the Smoked Smore and the Cheesecake. The Smore came out with some kind of incense thing that literally smelled like a camp fire...it was awesome. But the star of the show was the Cheesecake. It wasn't a regular cheesecake; it was in a little jar and had the most amazing caramel topping on it. We were obsessed. Don't let the long wait deter you - Park Distillery is a good choice for dinner if you're staying in town or around the area! Our group of 6 powered through the possible 1.5 hour wait (ended up only waiting 45 min but would recommend reservations in the future!) and were seated up at a picnic style table on the deck patio which had lovely views of the town as the sun went down. The food is a little overpriced (to be expected in a tourist area), but the burgers were super tasty. I got the Park Burger which tasted like a classic and came with a side of fries. My friends got the Bison burger and really enjoyed the wild boar bacon and crispy onions. We also shared the Mac and cheese x2 which was definitely too pricey for the portion size. The cocktails were absolutely delicious - they use their in-house distilled liquors, and you can also do tasting flights. I wish we had enough time on our trip to do a distillery tour! Overall, Park Distillery achieves that campfire but a little more fancy than being in the woods feel and is worth the stop. read more

I organized a big group trip to Banff and Park Distillery was one of our spots for dinner. We were seated upstairs at a long table that easily accommodated all 14 of us. Our server was on top of everything and provided attentive service throughout. He patiently repeated information over and over again and made sure we were all satisfied with our food. For a starter, the bf and I shared a half order of trout chowder. It was so creamy and balanced. We were both very happy with that choice. Since we were in the sharing mood, for our main, we went with the Mess Hall Standard, which came with BBQ Ribs, Rotisserie Chicken, Sausage, Pork n' Beans, Cheese Smokies, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, and Arugula Salad. It was way more food than we could finish. The ribs were awesome and the chicken was quite good as well. The sausage was a bonus since it wasn't listed on the menu and we definitely didn't mind the extra variety. All of our friends also loved their meals except two who decided to order tagliatelle. The first time around, the pasta was stuck in clumps and rubbery. Even after remaking the dish, the pasta still wasn't great so our server removed it from the bill completely. There was plenty of other food to go around in our group and no one missed the pasta. I wish we had planned ahead and scheduled a tour of the distillery itself because all of the drinks that we had during dinner, which used the spirits made there, were very good. read more

This place is so delicious for food and I even ordered a FLIGHT of Vodkas. 6 shots for $20 is a pretty good deal when you are used to $8.50 shots back in The 6ix. They make their own vodkas gin and probably some more hard liqour but I couldnt tell after I finished my vodka flight. I felt a pretty good buzz before my food came but I swear this review is being written somewhat sober....okay maybe a little bit hungover but I ordered the Bison Burger and wifey ordered the rotiessorie chicken burger and BOTH dishes were Hellagood! The portions were massive and the we also ordered the Chowder which was full of flavour! Our service was impeccable and you can tell this place is pretty well organized and work as a team. If you have only one restaurant you can visit while in Banff, it has to be Park Distillery! Seriously, the food is AMAZING and varied and it seems like they really cater to a variety of different palettes. We didn't make reservations and we showed up at the end of the night and they told us that we most likely would have a 2 hour wait... meaning we probably couldn't get in that night. Luckily, we just tried and we put our names on the list. Lo and behold, a few restaurant go-ers dropped off the waitlist and we were seated ten minutes later. Yay! We ordered everything family style to share and boy, was that a good decision! My favorites of the night were the Smoked Brie, the Poutine, and the Prime Ribs. Make sure to order a drink while you're here as well, because after all, they are a distillery and their drinks are good! I had a cocktail and it was the perfect mixture of strong but still fruity and cohesive. It can get a little pricier but it's definitely worth it to splurge for this one. I came here on my first full day in Banff and sat on their second level patio with a really pretty mountain view. This was one of the only restaurants I saw that was still seating outdoors in mid-October. When I arrived all the tables were full so they had me sit on a barstool at the railing, and I was pretty cold since only the tables have heaters. When one of the parties left their table shortly after I arrived, the waitress said I could have it, which I really appreciated. I had the quarter rotisserie chicken and gravy and substituted mac and cheese (for an upcharge). The chicken and gravy were excellent, the mac and cheese was not. It took a while for the food to come out but I didn't mind since I was enjoying the view from the table. We passed by here as we were looking for a place to eat on a Sunday afternoon. The place is a restaurant as well as a distillery. The crowd was pretty decent when we came so we were seated almost immediately for a party of seven. Park Distillery has a great ambience and with modern decor. I can't say enough good things about the waitress that tend our table. She was patient, friendly and super attentive. I ordered the brisket sandwich with fries. The fries were pretty mediocre, but the sandwich itself was really good. The smoked brisket was cooked perfectly. The sauce that came with the sandwich complimented it perfectly. I got hot sauce (cost an extra 75 cents) to dip my sandwich in along with the ketchup and it was an explosion of flavors. My boyfriend ordered the sirloin steak. He shared a small piece of his steak with me and that was really good as well. The steak was cooked perfectly. Overall the service was great and the food was delicious. Definitely a fan, unfortunately i think i was REALLY tired when we came here for lunch once we arrived in downtown Banff. We heard they have liquored up rootbeer, so we had to try! It was not too sweet but dangerous enough that you can taste the alcohol (lol) but light enough that i wanted to keep drinking more. For entrees, my husband's never ending craving for alberta meat, so he has the PArk Burger and I opted for the Bleu Dog. The PArk burger was juciy, big and delicious. The Bleu Dog was a HUGE corn dog on a bed of fries and slaw with a side of blueberry ketchup. YEP! you hear that right. Don't knock it til you've tried it. You know when you put honey on your fried chicken? Yea it's similar to this. The Blueberry ketchup was a good contrast to the savory flavor of the corn dog. Loved it so much we came here twice! We came one night just for drinks and apps and the other for dinner. It's a massive place and great for larger parties without a reservation. The wings were delicious. The bang bang shrimp was good but not what we were expecting. (It's tempura shrimp without the sauce that you dip into bang bang sauce - it was ok) The bacon cheeseburger with "Park sauce" and curly fries was great. There are so many great drinks here. The Sawback which is a vodka version of a spicy marg was amazing, as was the Storm Mountain (gin, peach, honey and basil). The Moraine 75 was fun and changes colors when you add the two parts together. As someone who doesn't like Aperol/Campari, I for some reason ordered the Summer Spritz but was there pleasantly surprised. It was delicious and not bitter at all. read more

We were seated in the upstairs area near the outdoor seating-- we had a table with two wingback chairs which were a bit awkward for dining, would have been ideal if we were just sipping cocktails. We went here in a group of 6 people, got seated in the patio on 2nd level. The view from there was pretty good. We started with drinks, all distilled locally and with local ginger beer. It was really a different experience. We loved their espresso vodka and also the spiced chilli vodka, even ended up buying a bottle each to take home. If you dine in there, you get 10% off the bottles you buy, so we got a pretty good deal. When we went to the store downstairs to buy the bottles, the person there was very helpful and even helped us taste some other vodkas. The food was pretty good too, but a little overpriced. We didn't have time to go to another place for a meal and hence ended up eating here. The Park burger that I ordered was pretty good, and everyone on the table was happy with their meals too. After doing research prior to coming to Banff and learning thst this is the only distillery in a national park in North America. I had to put it on my must tey places to eat. So we came here for dinner the other night. They were pretty busy but we were seated right away. We were initially told that they were out of several of their main protiens. Which I thought to be odd considering it's low season in Banff. So we ordered their shrimp lettuce wrap, park burger, mushroom caps as well as their trout entree. Just to be told also that they dont have shrimp either, so we ordered the salmon tacos instead. Food took some time to come out. Thankfully we weren't too hungry. To my surprise (and not in a good way) not only did we get the trout entree but also a salmon entree!! In her defense I first ordered a salmon entree but did quickly changed my mind to the trout entree cuz we has already ordered the salmon tacos. So that was a bit annoying. Food wise it was ok. Nothing special. 1. Parks burger- my dad enjoyed the actual burger. Fries were on the soggy side. 2. Mushroom caps- its a vegetarian dish. So if your into that go for it. But it had no flavor, and I was disappointed with it. 3. Trout in tin foil- cooked well. Flaky. Tasted good. Brocolini was well seasoned. Was a small piece of fish though. 4. Salmon with the glaze- tasted good as well. Tender and moist. It was well cooked. 5. Salmon tacos- they were a bit dry. Would love to have had some lemon wedges on the side, or more sauce. Drinks though were really good. We ordered their flight of housemade spirits. And for $20 you get 6- 1 oz shot glasses of their housemade liquor. From gin to vodka to esperesso to chili. It tasted so good and pure!! Also ordered their cowboy trail specialty drink (ice festival spirit) which had egg white in it. It was interesting and most definitely frothy. It was a good experience. To be able to say I've tried it. Wouldn't mind coming by in the future and buying some house made liquor( from their store), or taking a distillery tour. So, their ribs had a very strong smokey flavour like you would expect from a campfire. Super tasty and the meat came right off the bones. Love their pulled pork fingers , they were addictive! I wish the portion was larger for its price. The Bubba's mac n' cheese to me was a little bit disappointing. The chicken and the mac n' cheese were both a bit dry and it was tough to finish. When in Banff this is a great choice for dinner. The Park Distilery is a great place to be even if you don't have a cocktail. I did read reviews before making a reservation here and I recommend you do because It was packed when we arrived but our table was ready immediately and we had drinks on our table within minutes. Our server really made the evening with his dry humour and he was fast with every request everything was there right on cue. We started with some blueberry Brie and I had a few pints of an Alberta craft, Naughty Amber Ale that work fabulously with the entire meal. They have a cool option of ordering from a bunch of different mains and sides to create a fabulous dinner, and we put together several plates that we shared. Really it was one of the most fun, interesting and delicious Dinners I've had in a long time. We ordered a 16oz steak, potatoes with gravy, some veggies and a couple other sides and talk about great comfort food!!! We loved our dinner at Park! We got in early, around 4:30 because we couldn't make a reservation and didn't want to have a long wait (we were starving from early morning hiking!). They were still serving their lunch menu, but there was no wait for a table, so I'd definitely recommend coming around this time. We ordered the poutine for the table (so good) and I got the brisket sandwich, which was great. I also loved the hiker greens that came with it (instead of the fries) and would recommend that option if you're looking for something lighter. We also had some of their signature cocktails, which were good but pretty pricey. We wanted to try the liquor they make though, so it was a good choice.
