This is a nice place for a quick enjoyable dinner. They have their own fire grill, and anything on the menu with a little image of a fire nest to it is grilled there. We went here twice during a short 5 day trip which really speaks to how good we found the food! I had the rotisserie chicken sandwich the first time and then the park burger the second -- both with their classic park greens salad which has a lovely trail mix on top of it. Both sandwiches were phenomenal!! They're known for their campfire cooked meats - I really haven't had such yummy rotisserie chicken in a very long time. I found the park greens a bit too soggy the first time but when I ordered dressing on the side the second time, it was perfect. The restaurant itself is massive! We loved sitting on their upstairs patio and getting a great view of the mountains. It's also heated which is nice on colder days. Would have been interested to try their drinks since they're a distillery but was too busy hiking to indulge. Definitely a go to spot the next time we're in Banff! read more

Park distillery solidified itself as our favourite restaurant in Banff. The cocktail list and menu are slightly reduced after covid reopening but there is still plenty to choose from. And what they do, they still do oh so well! My fiance always gets the chicken, it is always well seasoned and well cooked (never dry) and I had the prime rib this time, it was amazingly flavourful and a very generous portion. The restaurant is well staffed after covid reopening, they have plenty of ppl greeting, seating, cleaning, and serving. Friendly service, clean and safe, while still maintaining a great vibe for a relaxing dinner out. The menus are on qr code and the tables are appropriately distanced. After reading the many great reviews and seeing the drink menu, I am disappointed to be giving Park Distillery a 2 star review. This is justified mostly due to the rude service and subpar food. Our group has been camping, eating dehydrated meals and without alcohol, so this place in Banff town drew us in for lunch. We were seated upstairs at one of the communal tables of this multi story establishment. I happily placed an order for the taster flight and for poutine. We had just missed the free distillery tour and those lucky individuals who took the tour were getting their free samples near us. Our drinks and food came out fairly quickly and I was excited to try my poutine. It was odd tasting, in a bad way. They piled beans onto the fries and since we've been camping it actually reminded me of the canned honey beans we had the night before, coyingly sweet and well, like canned beans. Needless to say, I prefer the Costco rendition of the poutine for half the price. Now for the 2 star service... It was a late lunch and we were being rushed out of there. The server attempted to clear our things on multiple occasions when we were clearly still eating. Some of us were sharing side fries from our entrees and one of the servers rudely asked one in our group if she was done eating her dish and her friends fries. On top of that, the server was trying to clear plates out of the space from the people sitting across from me by standing behind me. I was elbowed in the head about 3-4 times and she just kept saying "pardon my reach" each time the elbow smacked the head rather than finding a better way to clear plates. read more

Rotisserie Chicken S'wich: Similar to a pulled pork sandwich. My husband loved it. Smoked Brie Appetizer: Hands down a must-have!! The blueberries and melted Brie combined was spectacular!!! 5 stars for drinks, service and ambiance! Unfortunately where Park Distillery fell short was in the food department. Because of that, I'd definitely come back for a cocktail. I'd probably just hold off on returning for a meal. Our waitress was extremely sweet and attentive! We were bummed to see that there was no poutine on the menu (we had seen some poutine photos on Yelp) and she surprised us with a note that was filled with local poutine recommendations. The cocktails were fabulous. They distill their vodka and gin in house, so it was a no brainer to try a Moscow Mule with Park Distillery vodka. This was super refreshing and did not disappoint. You can also buy bottles of liquor to take home - a little pricey, but totally worth it for a cool souvenir. For eats I ordered a wedge salad and fish tacos, none of which blew me away. The wedge salad was just a large piece of lettuce covered in dressing and dill. Normally on a wedge you'd expect things like blue cheese, bacon, egg, chopped tomato. This salad had none of that and was pretty drab. The fish tacos were also just okay, really small and not much flavor. I'd happily return for a libation but would probably skip out on food - especially with all of the amazing options in downtown Banff. read more

Please come here if you visit Banff! The food is good, the service is good, and the gin is good. Everything was SO good! I came here with 3 other coworkers on a Wednesday around 7:30 pm. Thankfully we had a reservation because they were packed! For appetizers were ordered the fondue and the beet hummus. Both amazing, seriously couldn't stop eating the cheese. One of my coworkers tries to eat mostly plant based so she was very excited about their Plant Based menu. She ordered the Park Veggie Bowl and it was beautiful. I ordered the quarter rotisserie chicken and was VERY surprised when two legs/thighs came out with it. I was not expecting that much chicken. I even confirmed with our waiter that this was indeed a quarter order. After all that chicken, I was not hungry for dessert but my coworkers wanted to get a couple items to split. We ordered the Smoked Smore and the Cheesecake. The Smore came out with some kind of incense thing that literally smelled like a camp fire...it was awesome. But the star of the show was the Cheesecake. It wasn't a regular cheesecake; it was in a little jar and had the most amazing caramel topping on it. We were obsessed. i was so hopeful based on reviews and the fact that they distill their own liquor. I ordered a classic gin and tonic and my son had their caesar, which was featured in the front of the menu. With bacon and all kinds of goodies in it. The gin and tonic was meh (tonic was slightly flat) and the caesar did not have any bacon in it. The biggest disappointment was the Bison burger - the description made it sound wonderful. I asked (like any normal person would) for medium rare. Nope - medium well was the only option. To my disappointment, it was like a hockey puck (fitting for Canada?) and I had to drink water with each bite due to it being so dry. This is not necessarily their fault (health regulation I guess?), but it was pretty bad. read more

Don't let the long wait deter you - Park Distillery is a good choice for dinner if you're staying in town or around the area! Our group of 6 powered through the possible 1.5 hour wait (ended up only waiting 45 min but would recommend reservations in the future!) and were seated up at a picnic style table on the deck patio which had lovely views of the town as the sun went down. The food is a little overpriced (to be expected in a tourist area), but the burgers were super tasty. I got the Park Burger which tasted like a classic and came with a side of fries. My friends got the Bison burger and really enjoyed the wild boar bacon and crispy onions. We also shared the Mac and cheese x2 which was definitely too pricey for the portion size. The cocktails were absolutely delicious - they use their in-house distilled liquors, and you can also do tasting flights. I wish we had enough time on our trip to do a distillery tour! I organized a big group trip to Banff and Park Distillery was one of our spots for dinner. We were seated upstairs at a long table that easily accommodated all 14 of us. Our server was on top of everything and provided attentive service throughout. He patiently repeated information over and over again and made sure we were all satisfied with our food. For a starter, the bf and I shared a half order of trout chowder. It was so creamy and balanced. We were both very happy with that choice. Since we were in the sharing mood, for our main, we went with the Mess Hall Standard, which came with BBQ Ribs, Rotisserie Chicken, Sausage, Pork n' Beans, Cheese Smokies, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, and Arugula Salad. It was way more food than we could finish. The ribs were awesome and the chicken was quite good as well. The sausage was a bonus since it wasn't listed on the menu and we definitely didn't mind the extra variety. All of our friends also loved their meals except two who decided to order tagliatelle. The first time around, the pasta was stuck in clumps and rubbery. Even after remaking the dish, the pasta still wasn't great so our server removed it from the bill completely. There was plenty of other food to go around in our group and no one missed the pasta. I wish we had planned ahead and scheduled a tour of the distillery itself because all of the drinks that we had during dinner, which used the spirits made there, were very good. read more

This place is so delicious for food and I even ordered a FLIGHT of Vodkas. 6 shots for $20 is a pretty good deal when you are used to $8.50 shots back in The 6ix. They make their own vodkas gin and probably some more hard liqour but I couldnt tell after I finished my vodka flight. I felt a pretty good buzz before my food came but I swear this review is being written somewhat sober....okay maybe a little bit hungover but I ordered the Bison Burger and wifey ordered the rotiessorie chicken burger and BOTH dishes were Hellagood! The portions were massive and the we also ordered the Chowder which was full of flavour! Our service was impeccable and you can tell this place is pretty well organized and work as a team. I came here on my first full day in Banff and sat on their second level patio with a really pretty mountain view. This was one of the only restaurants I saw that was still seating outdoors in mid-October. When I arrived all the tables were full so they had me sit on a barstool at the railing, and I was pretty cold since only the tables have heaters. When one of the parties left their table shortly after I arrived, the waitress said I could have it, which I really appreciated. I had the quarter rotisserie chicken and gravy and substituted mac and cheese (for an upcharge). The chicken and gravy were excellent, the mac and cheese was not. It took a while for the food to come out but I didn't mind since I was enjoying the view from the table. Overall I definitely recommend this place, especially if you prefer to eat outdoors. read more

Blood on the restroom floor! I told a hostess that there was blood on the floor in the ladies room and she seemed totally unbothered. When she asked how much (does it matter?!!) and I told her, she made a glib remark to the effect of "Well, not like someone was murdered, right?". She went in, looked at the blood and came out and said "It's not much." Again, does that matter?!? She did NOT say that she would take care of it or let someone know. In fact she walked back up to the hostess station. It was then that I decided I would not be returning to this establishment. It was after, on my way out, that I heard her talking crap about me to another staff member that I decided to write this review. If you have only one restaurant you can visit while in Banff, it has to be Park Distillery! Seriously, the food is AMAZING and varied and it seems like they really cater to a variety of different palettes. We didn't make reservations and we showed up at the end of the night and they told us that we most likely would have a 2 hour wait... meaning we probably couldn't get in that night. Luckily, we just tried and we put our names on the list. Lo and behold, a few restaurant go-ers dropped off the waitlist and we were seated ten minutes later. Yay! We ordered everything family style to share and boy, was that a good decision! My favorites of the night were the Smoked Brie, the Poutine, and the Prime Ribs. Make sure to order a drink while you're here as well, because after all, they are a distillery and their drinks are good! I had a cocktail and it was the perfect mixture of strong but still fruity and cohesive. It can get a little pricier but it's definitely worth it to splurge for this one. We passed by here as we were looking for a place to eat on a Sunday afternoon. The place is a restaurant as well as a distillery. The crowd was pretty decent when we came so we were seated almost immediately for a party of seven. Park Distillery has a great ambience and with modern decor. I can't say enough good things about the waitress that tend our table. She was patient, friendly and super attentive. I ordered the brisket sandwich with fries. The fries were pretty mediocre, but the sandwich itself was really good. The smoked brisket was cooked perfectly. The sauce that came with the sandwich complimented it perfectly. I got hot sauce (cost an extra 75 cents) to dip my sandwich in along with the ketchup and it was an explosion of flavors. My boyfriend ordered the sirloin steak. He shared a small piece of his steak with me and that was really good as well. The steak was cooked perfectly. Overall the service was great and the food was delicious. Definitely a fan, unfortunately i think i was REALLY tired when we came here for lunch once we arrived in downtown Banff. We heard they have liquored up rootbeer, so we had to try! It was not too sweet but dangerous enough that you can taste the alcohol (lol) but light enough that i wanted to keep drinking more. For entrees, my husband's never ending craving for alberta meat, so he has the PArk Burger and I opted for the Bleu Dog. The PArk burger was juciy, big and delicious. The Bleu Dog was a HUGE corn dog on a bed of fries and slaw with a side of blueberry ketchup. YEP! you hear that right. Don't knock it til you've tried it. You know when you put honey on your fried chicken? Yea it's similar to this. The Blueberry ketchup was a good contrast to the savory flavor of the corn dog. We had a terrible experience last night . This place is ok for drinks, but the food was all around awful. Had the spinach cheese appetizer. Very clumpy dip. The "flatbread" is the grocery store mini naan breads . My husband had the burger - it was ok. Fries were meh. I had the quarter rotisserie chicken . Noting special . Very salty roasted baby potatoes and inedible "gravy". It took 30 minutes after being seated to get our drinks. If you are seated anywhere near the front door, you will freeze . The hostesses keep the front door open & the vestibule door brings in waves of cold air every time someone leaves or enters . We had a great experience a few years ago which is why we returned. The reviews were more mixed than what we originally saw. Great ambiance with great music. Our server was fine nothing over the top. We got the sampler. We did not like the coleslaw. The chicken was moist but did not have a lot of flavor. The ribs, cornbread and warm potato salad were meh. We had a lot better but have also had worse. I got lemonade to drink that was watered down. After doing research prior to coming to Banff and learning thst this is the only distillery in a national park in North America. I had to put it on my must tey places to eat. So we came here for dinner the other night. They were pretty busy but we were seated right away. We were initially told that they were out of several of their main protiens. Which I thought to be odd considering it's low season in Banff. So we ordered their shrimp lettuce wrap, park burger, mushroom caps as well as their trout entree. Just to be told also that they dont have shrimp either, so we ordered the salmon tacos instead. Food took some time to come out. Thankfully we weren't too hungry. To my surprise (and not in a good way) not only did we get the trout entree but also a salmon entree!! In her defense I first ordered a salmon entree but did quickly changed my mind to the trout entree cuz we has already ordered the salmon tacos. So that was a bit annoying. Food wise it was ok. Nothing special. 1. Parks burger- my dad enjoyed the actual burger. Fries were on the soggy side. 2. Mushroom caps- its a vegetarian dish. So if your into that go for it. But it had no flavor, and I was disappointed with it. 3. Trout in tin foil- cooked well. Flaky. Tasted good. Brocolini was well seasoned. Was a small piece of fish though. 4. Salmon with the glaze- tasted good as well. Tender and moist. It was well cooked. 5. Salmon tacos- they were a bit dry. Would love to have had some lemon wedges on the side, or more sauce. Drinks though were really good. We ordered their flight of housemade spirits. And for $20 you get 6- 1 oz shot glasses of their housemade liquor. From gin to vodka to esperesso to chili. It tasted so good and pure!! Also ordered their cowboy trail specialty drink (ice festival spirit) which had egg white in it. It was interesting and most definitely frothy. It was a good experience. To be able to say I've tried it. Wouldn't mind coming by in the future and buying some house made liquor( from their store), or taking a distillery tour. FOOD: 3.5/5 - We tried some great baby pork ribs at Park Distillery Restaurant and Bar. The restaurant specialized in campfire-inspired cooking. So, their ribs had a very strong smokey flavour like you would expect from a campfire. Super tasty and the meat came right off the bones. Love their pulled pork fingers , they were addictive! I wish the portion was larger for its price. The Bubba's mac n' cheese to me was a little bit disappointing. The chicken and the mac n' cheese were both a bit dry and it was tough to finish. ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - Great environment. Modern, rustic and lively vibe. Lots of people chatting up with the waitresses and bartenders. SERVICE: 3.5/5 - Friendly and attentive. We went here in a group of 6 people, got seated in the patio on 2nd level. The view from there was pretty good. We started with drinks, all distilled locally and with local ginger beer. It was really a different experience. We loved their espresso vodka and also the spiced chilli vodka, even ended up buying a bottle each to take home. If you dine in there, you get 10% off the bottles you buy, so we got a pretty good deal. When we went to the store downstairs to buy the bottles, the person there was very helpful and even helped us taste some other vodkas. The food was pretty good too, but a little overpriced. We didn't have time to go to another place for a meal and hence ended up eating here. The Park burger that I ordered was pretty good, and everyone on the table was happy with their meals too. I'd recommend visiting this place, the distillery and definitely try their cocktails. read more
