Came here for a lab dinner on Friday at 6:30pm. We were sat at a round table with fresh bread. For appetizers we got the grilled octopus, red hummus, and burrata. For dinner I order the grilled shrimp over polenta. This was the best dish I've had here. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and polenta was delicious. For dessert I had the banana napoleon. This updated review is about takeout during Covid times. We decided to order the prix fixe takeout dinner menu for our anniversary. It was easy to order online. When I went in to pickup I had to go to the bar. Since we opted for takeout to avoid people, I would have preferred just a quick pickup up front rather than having to walk through the restaurant. I did end up having to wait about 10 minutes past our pickup time. Not a huge issue, but since we put in for the 5 p.m. time, which is when they open for dinner we figured everything would be on time. Food portions for takeout were great! The dessert portion was AMAZING! The appetizers were yummy! I had the Italian Burrata and it was sooo good, and a giant portion! My husband had the Green Chickpea and Mushroom Falafel. For our main dishes I had the Roasted Chicken Breast. It looked a little pink to me, so I actually stuck it in the oven to be on the safe side. To be honest this was probably my least favorite meal I've had from Parizade, it was stuffed with goat cheese and spinach with tzatziki, and served with green chickpea and rice pilaf. My husband had the spaghetti which came with shrimp and said it was really good. Our desserts were THE BEST! We each had the Banana Rum Napoleon, and said that was definitely the best dessert we have had in a loooong time! Beautiful restaurant, excellent service, wonderful food. Charles was our waiter; he has a quiet and calm demeanor and he truly seemed to want to make sure we had an enjoyable time. We selected our food somewhat randomly--one entree, a few small plates/appetizers--and he suggested an order for the dishes, and had our shared entree plated separately. We were there for a special occasion, and it was indeed special, as well as memorable, thanks to Charles. Don't worry if he's not your server, though. I came here for a group dinner and there was plenty of space for multiple group dinners. They close the kitchen pretty early so right when we got there they asked for our full order. Since there were quite a few of us, we were able to try a few different appetizers to pass around the table. I think my favorite appetizers were the octopus and burrata. The burrata was nice and creamy and melted in your mouth. It sat on top of some greens which paired well with the cheese. We also got the mezze trio which came with hummus, tzatziki, and spicy red pepper. For my entree, I got the lamb chops which were cooked well and came with a side of quinoa. I came here with my fiance on a weekday evening after working out at the gym, and I'll say that we were severely underdressed. Parizade is the perfect spot for a dimly lit mediterannean dinner. We felt out of place, but our server still treated us with the utmost respect, the same as we saw him treat any other guest. I wish we caught asked his name so we could give him a shoutout for management to see - although he was serving many many tables, each one received so much attention. Inbetween courses, the crumbs were brushed, the silverware was replaced, and the table was rearranged to make room for the next dishes to come. As for the food - Bread: on its own, it was a little sour for my tastes (is that what sourdough is supposed to taste like?), but it's delicious when paired with Parizade's very high quality olive oil. I probably poured more olive oil into my plate at least four times before the appetizer even came. Please don't make the same mistake I did, so you can save room for the food to come Appetizer: we had a burrata salad that was very refreshing. Entrees: We had the pork chop and the linguine and clams. The pork chop came with brussels sprouts, bacon jam, and polenta. I'm a sucker for polenta, but what I'll remember in the years to come is how massive the pork chop was. The linguine and clams tasted like the sea (in a very good way), and I'll leave it at that. We obviously could not pass up dessert - there's always room! If you scroll through the pictures on Yelp, you'll see a lot of pictures of the Banana Rum Napoleon. Took my parents here last night and my dad - one of the biggest food critics I know - deemed it his new favorite restaurant in Durham. We really loved the atmosphere (awesome decor, good music at a goood volume), friendly service, and open kitchen design. Personally, I was a big fan of their wine menu which broke down the different flavor profiles in a way that's easy to understand. We got the mezze trio (pictured), and agreed that the dips tasted good but the hummus was a bit thicker than we're used to; we also got the golden quinoa (YUM) and the grilled shrimp. For dessert they had decaf coffee and the banana rum napoleon (VERY yum). Definitely excited to go back and try some other items and drinks!! This was my first time at Parizade! I came here for a girls' night because I had an offline offer to use for the month. I was excited as I've always heard great things. They start you off with complimentary bread with olive oil. I definitely would have preferred some herbs/spices in the oil for some flavor. Our waiter told us the specials of the day and out of the specials that he listed, we ordered the paella croquettes, rigatoni bolognese (with lamb, steak and I think pork) and whole snapper. We actually had to ask him to repeat the specials because it was kind of loud in the restaurant and he was a little soft-spoken. I kind of wish they had the specials printed so we could see the description/ingredients of the dishes for people with dietary restrictions. One of my friends can't eat pork. Well, we ordered 2 orders of the paella croquettes since an order only comes with 2 croquettes. After I tried one, I thought I tasted ham or sausage so when our waiter came back, we asked what was in it and he wasn't sure of all the ingredients but gladly went to the kitchen to ask...it had chorizo in it. We could have just gotten one order had we known. We also ordered crispy shrimp rolls, grilled octopus and linguini and clams. The crispy shrimp rolls were not crispy at all but rather soggy so that was kind of disappointing. The grilled octopus was on the salty side and some of the white beans were a bit undercooked. The bolognese was pretty good but I'm not really sure why it was a special as it seemed a bit ordinary. Our waiter filleted the snapper at the table which I thought was cool. For cocktails, I got the lavender fields and old fashioned. Both drinks were good but I wish the lavender fields had a little more gin in it. The old fashioned was perfect! For dessert, we got the banana rum napoleon (double) and double chocolate fudge cake. The banana rum napoleon was so good! It tasted like a very fancy banana pudding. The crispy phyllo layers with the banana-rum pastry cream was a good combo and it was sweet but not overly sweet to me. I think my favorite things I ate were the banana rum napoleon and the paella croquettes. Our waiter even mentioned that some people just come for the banana rum napoleon and I can see why! I wish I had gotten better pictures but it was dimly lit, and I didn't wanna be embarrassing and turn the flash on for my little food photoshoot. While the food was okay (not amazing to me) - 3 stars, I will say the service was excellent, so they earned an extra star for that. Also, we were the last table to leave (around 10pm). We didn't realize the restaurant was closed until the people at a table near us left. The restaurant closed at 9pm but the staff didn't seem to mind too much and even asked if we wanted another round of drinks when we apologized for staying after closing time. I'm kind of surprised they didn't try to kick us out; I'm sure it happens all the time but I'm glad they were so nice about it and not annoyed. Parizade seems to be a great place for date night, girls' night, or even company dinners. There is a parking lot in front of the restaurant but it was full when I got there. All the parking in the shopping center was actually full but they have a parking deck behind the building and it was actually mostly empty. read more

Walked to the main entrance and the lobby was beautiful. We had taken reservation, so were seated immediately. The interior and the ambience was beautiful. Mostly, business casual attire. We started with appetizer- the trio spread. Then four entrees and two desserts. The lamb shank and the beef rib meat were cooked to perfection. The spaghetti was alright but the grilled shrimp made up for it. We were a lil disappointed with the lack of Mediterranean flavor that we were so looking forward to try out. The two deserts , the banana Napoleon and white chocolate mango cake, were pretty good . Although quite unassuming from the outside, Parizade opens into a shockingly spacious and atmospheric dining room. It's beautifully decorated, with generous seating. We came on a Tuesday night and the place was about half occupied, maybe less. Cocktails (5/5) Delicious!! I forget what we ordered.. I think Lavender Fields and Local Garden Martini? Both were fabulous, some of the best cocktails I've had at a restaurant in a while. We had to pace ourselves! Mezze Trio (3/5) A colorful plate and pleasing to the eye, but none of the spreads stood out as particularly yummy. It comes with a bread basket including pita, a thin cracker-like bread, and toasted bread. The latter two were too hard so we just stuck with the pita. Crispy Shrimp Rolls (3/5) I saw pictures of the phyllo wrapped shrimp rolls online and thought they looked great but what we actually got were like asian spring rolls. Still good (the shrimp is very tender), but a little underwhelming and the portion's pretty tiny. I wish they kept their old shrimp dish. Grilled Snapper (4/5) I saw pictures of this online as well but it wasn't on the menu, so we asked our server and it was available! It comes with your choice of a side, so we went with broccolini. This is a very generous portion size. Enough to feed two people... we didn't need a second entree tbh. It's cooked whole but they offer to fillet it tableside, which we opted for. I wish we didn't. It took an awkwardly long time and our poor waitress had to stand there for several minutes digging for bones. By the time they remove everything, they've basically torn up the whole fish so it looks a mess and there's definitely bits of meat and skin that get taken away with the bones. I think it's easier for everyone involved to just eat the fish whole. Otherwise, it was well seasoned and well cooked. I really enjoyed it. Broccolini had huge stems that were probably undercooked because it was tough and woody and hard to eat. Underseasoned too, so kind of bland. Australian Lamp Chops (4/5) This was pretty good! Lamb was standard. The couscous and chickpeas were pretty yummy. They come in a slightly sweet sauce, but the dish as a whole is a little dry. We actually ordered our lamb medium rare and it came out very well done, so we let the manager know and they remade it perfectly. Banana Rum Napoleon (5/5) So light! The phyllo is thin, airy and crispy. The banana custard is just sweet enough. Well balanced dessert. A satisfying end to the meal, highly recommend. Service (4/5) The manager who whisked by and checked on us was fantastic. He took care of our overcooked lamb with grace and got us a new dish. After we were first sat, we were right under the air vent with a pretty cold draft so he let us move over one booth to be more comfortable. Our server must have been having a bad day because she was kind of brusque. Once, she slammed a drink down on our table without even looking at us. She definitely seemed annoyed that we said yes to getting the fish filleted which is why we regret it. Overall, it wasn't the best fine dining experience we've had but could've just been bad luck. I probably wouldn't come back just because the food isn't anything special. I had a great meal at this lovely Mediterranean restaurant in Durham, NC near Duke University. It was great seeing my high school friend and fellow Georgetown Prep Little Hoya. We had the salmon and branzino for a wonderful dinner. We started with some fresh olives with pits, and a nice octopus tissue (very tender and fresh). I told her what I normally drink so she made this one a little sweeter for me based on drinks I usually get. For a starter I tried the beet and kale salad with Bleu cheese. Some friends and I come to Parizade for dinner on Saturday during Triangle Restaurant Week. I was kind of confused since it was a Mediterranean restaurant but some of the dishes were not Mediterranean... very different from other Mediterranean places I've been to. The food was ok, I got the falafel for appetizer, stuffed chicken for entree, and banana rum napoleon for dessert. I was underwhelmed by the chicken since it wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be. The falafel was amazing though (the tzatziki is so good!). The banana rum napoleon was good but not anything amazing. I loved the bread and olive oil for the table (the bread was so good?!). This place is super pricey ($40 for the three courses)! My friends ordered the quinoa and the filet mignon special. The filet mignon was room temperature and my friend debated sending it back, it was so lack luster. Our waiter seemed good at first, but he ghosted us after taking our meal orders. The atmosphere is beautiful, with gorgeous design details throughout the inside of the restaurant. The weather is nice, so we chose to sit outside come out where there are several candlelit tables and space heaters for when the weather gets colder. Our server, Ivan, was a consummate professional and delivered exceptional service. All of the food we ordered was perfectly prepared and the vermouth cocktail was one of the best drinks my wife or I have tried in a very long while. Ivan's other recommendations regarding which appetizer to choose (the baked feta) and which wine to pair with our seafood entrees (Sauvignon Blanc) were on point! As good as it ever was... We haven't been to Parizade since before the pandemic, and I'm now sorry we didn't go back sooner. We arrived on a Saturday early evening and the dining room was almost full, but we didn't have to wait for our reserved table. The atmosphere is as good as always: understated elegance. The menu offers a nice variety: old favorites like sausage rigatoni and their famous Bronzino, and innovative dishes like the one I tried: quinoa, edamame, mushrooms and other veggies. There is a decent selection of plant-based apps and entrees, so bring your veggie friends along. The wine selection is good, and my cocktail was made to perfection. All our dishes were very tasty, and we didn't leave any to take home. We'll be back sooner next time. It's obvious that Parizade is experiencing the same staffing shortages as every other restaurant in the US. Our server was obviously new, but seemed well trained and very friendly. The kitchen messed up our orders and we were left waiting far too long for our food. The Manager apologized, comped us an app, and spent the rest of the evening personally making sure we were happy. The elegant, romantic restaurant we've been looking for! We're natives of San Francisco (60 yrs) who moved to Durham six months ago. We've been very disappointed by the lack of "fine dining" restaurants -- everything seems to be ultra-casual or at least "casual" -- hard to find a place that has tablecloths, flowers on table, warm, soft lighting, lovely decor and ambiance -- and in general, no one seems to train wait-staff here. Last week a number of restaurants in "the Triangle" offered discounts (S.F. does the same during the slow months of January with their "Dine Around Town" program). I'd heard good things about Parizade (the owner owns a number of restaurants in the area -- I'd been to 2 of them and liked them). I went with 2 of my women friends. IT IS BEAUTIFUL! It's a very LARGE restaurant with a nice bar and bar area with tables. It also has outside seating on a brick patio in front of the restaurant. The ambiance is warm and elegant and relaxing. The service was excellent -- as was the food. I came home and told my husband "I've found the restaurant we've been looking for!" Recommendations we have had for other "elegant" restaurants (Palio, Angus Barn) were dreadful -- well over $200 per person and appallingly bad service, atmosphere (haybales & gingham & Mason jars at that price?! At Palio, the bill for 2 was over $300 -- and we brought out own wine -- in a room that looked like a 1980s coffee shop, no linens, no flowers, and a 19-yr old server with so little experience, she didn't even know which side of the plate the fork should be placed at.) This is the perfect place for an dinner with business associates, a romantic date or anniversary or birthday -- or anytime, of course. But it feels special, thank goodness. I'm tired of spending o$200 for 2 and feeling like I ate in a diner where NO attention was given to decor, lighting, service, etc. NOTE: ALLOW EXTRA TIME FOR PARKING& you may have to walk. Parizade is loated on the floor level of a LARGE, multi-building, multi-use complex. Condos, offices -- with restaurants on the walk-in level. You are likely to have to search/wait for parking (which is free and no valet, which would be a fine idea, actually!) I have now been there 2x and both times finding an empty parking spot was difficult and I had to walk a bit -- just mention this because parking is usually such a breeze the "Triangle" area. read more

Absolutely a wonderful place to enjoy a great meal with excellent service in a lovely decorated restaurant. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The courtyard has space heaters and live music on Friday; which is the night we went. Parizade is a staple of Durham and is a must stop. My wife and I enjoy going for a night out or going with friends. The crowd is mixed with young and old. My wife had the seafood paella and I had the gnocchi with smoked bacon and a bolognese sauce. Both of these were the specials. They serve a house made bread that was warm with a fantastic olive oil. We followed up the meal with their rum banana dessert that was amazing. read more
