I was bummed that they had sold out of rolls because they sound amazing, but we still had a lot to choose from. They have a pretty big menu. We got the brisket, pulled duck, house sausage, house boudin, the crawfish cornbread stuffing, and the mac & cheese. I think the brisket was my favorite, but I also liked the boudin--it was my first time having it. We also wanted to try the duck because you don't see that at many barbecue places it was good. It had a nice citrusy marinade. The mac & cheese was really good too. They were sold out of the dessert, but I would've gotten that as well. This food truck is located at the Austin Beer Works on Springdale. There's lots of outdoor seating and indoor seating as well. We happened to be there on a busy day because they had a three year anniversary celebration at the ABW.

Parish BBQ is a food trailer that sits behind a beer‑and‑coffee joint, the kind of setup that feels very Austin. Parking and the entrance is in the back. A friend recommended this spot, when I scoped it out I discovered it was New Orleans-themed BBQ, very intriguing. Everything is à la carte, so I built myself a little sampler: brisket, pork sausage, mac and cheese, and the cornbread dressing. Brisket: Moist, well‑seasoned, and wonderfully fatty. It's not the heavy smoke you get from classic Texas brisket, but the tenderness and flavor more than make up for it. Sausage: Absolutely massive. And absolutely NOLA. It was a cajun style Boudin sausage packed with rice, spices, and that honestly almost a full meal on its own. I took home half of it for leftovers. Cornbread Dressing: They described it as a crawfish boil in one bite, and they weren't lying. Sweet, salty, and full of bayou flavor. Pimento Mac & Cheese: The richest mac and cheese I've ever tasted. Some might call it salty; to me it's just the natural intensity of pimento. It was bold, cheesy, and unapologetic. The Cajun mustard ties everything together: full of spices, a little sweet, and exactly what I want with smoked meats. Service was fast, the place wasn't busy, and the whole experience felt easy in the best way. Cajun cooking is all about spice and flavor, and Parish delivers on both. A new contender on my BBQ list.

I have been waiting to try Parish Barbecue for way too long. I was definitely surprised to come across them at ABW Sprinkle Valley, but I'm so glad I did. The crawfish cornbread dressing was out of this world. If you're not a fan of nutmeg, skip it. The brisket was well worth the wait and the potato salad left me wanting more. There are three food trucks there, but your safest bet for the best meal is unmistakably Parish Barbecue.

Things happen for a reason. I went to the Egyptian BBQ truck and it was rather late and the Lamb Chops were sold out. However, earlier in the day, someone had highly recommended Parish Cajun BBQ that is literally a couple of blocks away so I headed there for my lite afternoon snack and let me tell you, I had another culinary revelation beyond measure. I ordered Beef Brisket, Pork Spareribs, and Cajun Beef Link with the Acadiana Potato Salad on the side. The brisket is bathed in Tabasco and then finished with Cajun seasonings. I failed to order moist brisket but the cuts that I got were not dry and very flavorful The Pork Spare Ribs also get their Tabasco bath and Cajun spices then finished with a light Steen's cane syrup glaze. Steen's cane syrup is a product of Louisiana. The Beef Links are house made with the Cajun Flair and I love the snap on the casing. The Acadiana Potato Salad really got my attention. I was told that the potatoes are crab boil seasoned water and then Duke's Mayonnaise, Creole mustard, eggs, olives and green onions are added for a perfect marriage of flavors. I am definitely coming back to check out the Pulled Duck Breast and the Crawfish Cornbread Dressing

An unassuming food truck behind a coffee shop. Plenty of outdoor seating and outdoor activities for families and groups. Came here with a couple of friends and we wanted to try a little bit of everything. Line wasn't too long and the owner was there taking orders and was patient enough to explain everything. The wait for the food wasn't bad, everything was ready in about 5 mins. Ribs were probably my favorite, with the brisket a close second. They were nice enough to throw in some burnt ends for us, too. Pimiento Mac and cheese was delightful, and so was the debris grits. The pistolette roll was a nice touch and was delicious with the honey butter. Definitely recommend this place and will be back as soon as possible.

Ok before you read this review, make sure you know this review is coming from a vegetarian! Yes I am a vegetarian reviewing a barbecue place. Why am I putting this review in? Well because sometimes you have meat loving friends who want to eat barbecue and you don't want to miss out on socialization. As well I figure if the place can make sides good then hopefully that means their barbecue is good right? Located behind Batch Craft Beer and Kolaches, this barbecue trailer is super fun place to bring large groups/family as it has large outdoor seating area with picnic tables and a turf area for the kids to run around and play in. There were other trailers in the back as well, but we focused on Parish which is BBQ with a Cajun twist. We came right when they opened on Saturday at 11 am and was pleasantly surprised there wasn't a long wait. However will say by the time we ordered and got our food the popular items like pulled duck and rolls were sold out by 1 pm. We a vegetarian almost all the sides were vegetarian. I really enjoyed the pimento Mac and cheese (as did my whole group and was unanimous the favorite side out of all the sides). It's slightly sweeter than regular Mac and cheese because of the peppers. I also liked the creole tomato salad as it was nice and refreshing. The potato salad was nothing to write home about. However you must get the fried pistolette rolls!! They were DELICIOUS, buttery but not too heavy and honestly weren't overly fried. Parking wise they have shared parking but plenty of street parking if the parking lot is full.

We loved the concept of BBQ with New Orleans influence, and were looking forward to the unique twist on BBQ. On a Saturday afternoon there was no wait whatsoever and seating is plentiful. Unfortunately, they were out of the Creole tomato salad and pulled duck. We ordered the turkey, brisket, and beef sausage along with vinegar slaw and the roll. We got the absolute last piece of turkey, so it may not be the best representation, but it was not our favorite (on the drier side). The brisket held up much better and was flavorful. Overall, a fun concept and a good spot to not have to wait long for some TX BBQ.

Went on a Friday afternoon and had no wait. The food was delicious and plentiful. We order one of the plates that included pretty much of everything. The brisket and turkey were excellent as were the pork ribs. The duck was pulled and came in its own container. The sideways exceeded expectations compared to other BBQ spots in Austin- homemade and hot. Tons of rolls included baked fresh at Batch with a special spicy butter. Excellent experience. Drinks available at Batch. Plenty outdoor seating. There were 5 of us with lots of leftovers we brought home. The owner came over to check on everything.

I have been watching this place for months on the gram and finally made it. Hoo boy am I glad I did. It was truly exceptional and definitely not overhyped. Id say underrated in all honesty. The brisket was so good my d*ck fell off and I dont even have a d*ck. And the time and care they put into the presentation was noticed and appreciated. Turkey was also a standout. And the sausage link was one of the largest I've ever consumed. Potato salad was fire flame as well. Good job Holden. Great job actually. Thank you for your delicious bbq.

Jeremy K.

This place absolutely rocks! The pitmaster, Holden, takes his time talking to you and explaining his process of smoking incredible food. They have such a unique blend of Cajun and BBQ, which is my absolute favorite combo I didn't know existed. We got spare ribs, boudin, cured ham, pickled vegetables, Mac n cheese, crawfish dressing and incredible rolls w Tabasco butter. This was one of the best meals I've had in a long long time. 5/5 no other way to look at it, thank you Parish for doing high quality bbq with a delicious twist.

Craving non traditional BBQ? Parish Barbecue has you covered! This little food truck tucked behind Batch delivers big on Cajun flavors and creative twists. I knew I was in for something special when I was greeted with a slice of brisket which was mouthwatering from the very first bite. For my meal, I went with the pulled duck and their weekly special boudin sausage. The duck was outstanding both moist, flavorful and perfectly paired with crunchy cracklings. The sausage leaned a little dry for my taste, but since it's not a regular menu item no harm done. The sides really sealed the deal. The standout was the crawfish cornbread as it was rich, indulgent and unlike anything I've tried before. It was balanced out by a refreshing tomato salad that hit the spot on a hot Texas day. I'm more of a traditional BBQ fan at heart, but when I'm in the mood for something different Parish Barbecue is absolutely at the top of my list.

If you're looking for a non-traditional BBQ spot, this is a great place to check out. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and there were no lines or long waits, which was a definite plus. Food: We ordered a little bit of everything, including brisket, ribs, the Saturday special pork belly, and pulled duck. My favorites were the pork belly and ribs, while everything else was just average. The pulled duck was our least favorite; it lacked flavor and was a bit more on the greasy side. Service: The person who took our order was friendly and took the time to explain the most popular items and offered suggestions since it was our first visit.

Food truck in East Austin with AMAZING bbq and sides. Service was quick and very nice, and plenty of outdoor seating with shade, at a brewery. Some of the best brisket I've had in Austin. The duck was also great, I'd suggest giving it a try if it's your thing. All the sides were great, but the cornbread and Mac and cheese stuck out to me the most. The cornbread is made with crawfish, which is both unique and delicious! If you like crawfish give it a try. The Mac and cheese was also tasty and more complex than your typical version. Nothing negative to say about the potato salad or coleslaw, they were good! Overall, definitely worth the drive from wherever you are to give them a try next time you're craving some bbq!

From the food to the drinks to the service, everything was fantastic! Jessica took great care of us and made our visit even more enjoyable. The ambiance was also really nice, with cute rocking chairs out front and lots of mirrors all over the walls. We had the grilled cheese sandwich with burnt ends, and WOW! The combination of the amazing onions and gooey, delicious cheese was out of this world! We also ordered the sweet potatoes, and I cannot say enough about how good they were! Perfectly sweet and absolutely delicious. Seriously, SO SO good! And the drinks? The lavender lemonade was AMAZING! Refreshing, delicious, and the perfect complement to an already fabulous meal! Between the incredible food, fantastic drinks, and Jessica's wonderful service, this place was a winner all around! If you're in Austin, Moonshine Grill is definitely worth a stop! I was so appreciative of the server splitting the entree over two plates without us asking. Did I mention the complimentary popcorn and cornbread? Twas a FEAST. I'm already thinking about the next time we're going back! If not for Moonshine, definitely for the speakeasy downstairs.

Austin Restaurant Week takes place from August 28th through September 13th. First stop...Rollin Smoke BBQ, located in the Chalmers building, which filled with a crowd of people. I ordered a pull pork sandwich, mac-n-cheese and banana pudding. The pulled pork sandwich was huge, which I shared with the hubs. Quite honestly, I was full after eating 1/4 of the sandwich, which had cabbage, pickles and of course the pork (not the typical stringy pork but chunks of pork bursting with smokey flavor). The mac-n-cheese was substantial with cheese filled shell pasta with a hint of a smokey flavor. So yummy...Well, I might have eaten "all" the banana pudding. I thoroughly enjoyed the Boozy Brussel Sprouts which were smoked and flashed fried, a balsamic glaze with whiskey soaked raisins and parmesan. I am definitely returning to check out the Half Chicken Plate with 2 small sides that I eyeballed.

We ordered the BBQ (of course) pork ribs and Texas brisket. The brisket was noticeably dry. Fortunately, they give you cute glass bottles of BBQ sauce, hot sauce and a mustard blend. The country style pork ribs are fantastic - tender to the bone, succulent with flavors, but not a rub that's overwhelming on the palate. There's not much else - the scant amount of coleslaw is lacking, and even though we ordered two entrees, we received only one dinner role. I asked for extra bread and got charged $4 for two more rolls which is annoying and also a poor business practice. It's also confusing how you order two things for two different people and it all ends up on the same plate. And then they asked if we were sharing? The value simply isn't here - total bill ended up being $75 before tax and tip. For three ribs and overdone brisket. I suppose there were some onion rings and pickles in there as well. I'm trying another place next time. That's all.
