Where to begin? Walking into this business is a treat for the eyes, and the taste of each of their pastries has been exceptional. It's my goal to try them all, and am close to achieving my goal. I like to take advantage of a promotional, to try new offerings, even though right now, I have my favorites. The promotional's come along frequently, and it's fun to get ads from PB even just to see how creative the bakers are. The staff are wonderful. Alex always remembers my name, and every one of their wonderful employees makes a visit to PB fun. I like the surroundings too, and it's a pleasure to eat inside, whether at a small table or the long refectory table that accommodates more people, but allows for elbow room. This is a Paris Baguette in downtown Mountain View. It's a little smaller than some of the other PBs in the area but still has a lot of pastries in the cabinet. I think their pastries are pretty decent but obviously are more European (croissants etc), despite this being a Korean bakery. I usually skew towards the pastries with fresh fruit on them. They usually have some sort of custard in the pastry. Their rewards program seems good. I got a free brewed coffee with purchase and I saw they have BOGO 50% off Saturdays in January. The brewed coffee I got was nice and went down smoothly. I am not sure if there was a lot of caffeine in the drink - I drank it around 7pm and it didn't keep me up all night which is probably a good thing. read more

Went to downtown Mountain View and came across this Paris Baguette. I had great experience at the Sunnyvale locations but unfortunately this branch had unprofessional and disappointing customer service. I walked in and saw 2 cashiers (male and female). The female cashier was ringing up someone and the male cashier just finished up helping a customer so I went to his register. He completely IGNORED me, went to the back then came back and helped a customer that was behind the customer who was being helped by the female cashier. I thought this was very disrespectful so I just walked out of the store. This was Feb 2 on a Friday afternoon. They say everything happens for a reason because I stumbled on Alexander's patisserie and they were absolutely amazing. Saw very positive reviews on Yelp so we were excited to try it out. Turned out to be extremely disappointing. We got one cold brew, one iced latte, and one pumpkin mochi donut. Food/Drinks - Cold brew: (rating: 1/5) worst we've ever had. So sour and strong that it's undrinkable, even with plenty of ice. The only theory that could explain everything is they use dark roast coffee beans to make regular coffee and sell it as cold brew. My partner usually drinks his cold brew plain but he had to add SO MUCH milk to this one to make it consumable. Iced latte: (rating: 2.5/5) contrary to the cold brew, it was too weak. The espresso flavor was so subtle that it was almost undetectable. Pumpkin mochi donut: (rating: 3/5) mediocre. It wasn't chewy enough, so I'd be reluctant to call it a mochi donut. I've had way better ones. Service - 1. Several items in the pastry cabinet weren't properly labeled. For example, it was almost impossible to tell what flavors the different mochi donuts are. I grabbed the pumpkin flavored one thinking it was a plain donut because there wasn't any special color on it. 2. Once you reach the checkout counter, everything is a mess. Staff helping customers check out, other customers asking questions, staff passing beverages to waiting customers etc., everything is done over the same counter. If you check out with pastries freshly picked out from the cabinet, expect people converse over them and spray some saliva. Not impressed by anything here. Will not return. read more

I've been a patron of this Paris Baguette since it opened. There was a time I used to buy so many pastries I would rack up enough points for 3-4 free pastries each week (they have a pretty nice loyalty program). Over time, the quality no longer justified the cost of the pastries -- especially the fruit pastries that often seemed to be older or sometimes bugs would fly into the store (please keep the door closed). Despite this, I still like coming to Paris Baguette once in a while. I also like the change they made to the layout to have more display cases (more variety!) and have fewer seats (fewer squatters or tourists). I keep seeing new faces at the registers, so it's a bit challenging to describe the service since it varies by person to person. In fact, it's kind of hard to decide how to tip because I usually pay before or while they're packing my pastries. Sometimes they're actually really thoughtful and I would like to tip more, but I'd already paid by the time we got to that point. I'd think "oh well, next time I'll tip them" but then I don't see them again anymore. The loaves of bread and the roll cakes are good too. I typically don't get the cakes anymore though, since they tend to lean a bit too sweet for me. The pastries are good though, especially when they rotate in new seasonal items I like. read more

Great coffee spot in downtown Mountain View. I've seen this place before in Palo Alto, but did not go in. My loss. I believe I've found my new favorite shop in Mt. View. The space is SO WHITE inside is kinda reminds me of Sephora. I appreciate how clean and organized everything is. Given current circumstances this is so much more important and appreciated. The service was very good and all the young folks behind the counter were attentive, helpful and courteous. I'm pretty disappointed with my latest experience here. I ordered a pesto chicken sandwich and waited for 30 mins because they ended up giving my sandwich to another customer and had to make me another one. Not only did the girl at the register not apologize for the occurrence but she gave me attitude the entire time. Her response when I asked about my sandwich "oh the girl in front of you took it so you can have this chipotle chicken sandwich or you can wait for another pesto chicken". Mind you, my colleagues came looking for me in the store because they were wondering why I was taking so long and they heard the register girl give me attitude. I got a matcha latte w/ soy, matcha mochi donut, and feuillete au chocolat. The mochi donuts are the best! Love the texture, and tastes way better than regular donuts. The feuillete au chocolat tastes similar to the chocolate bretzel! It's a good alternative if they run out of the bretzel. Heat it up for 15 secs and tastes wayyy better! Decided to pop in here today. If you aren't too discerning and need a quick bite to eat then Paris Baguette will do for a spell. Keep in mind, I'm judging them on one item and this is a surface level review. I got the croissant a) since I love them and b) it should serve as the benchmark for any French style bakery. For starters, buttery it was not. I could detect the flavor of butter but I had to close my eyes to really tell that it was there. It was also on the elastic-gluteny side when I pulled it apart so it lacked crunch. And finally, there was sugar in the egg wash. Disgraceful. It would be a shame to bite into something of similar quality in the City of Lights. This is pretty much what I expected going in. I mean, the name's pretty generic. It reminds me of the time I went to Chinatown and I flipped over a necktie to find out I was looking at a "Cappuccino" original. Which is why I'm surprised these stores are everywhere. Monuments to mediocrity. Maison Alyzeé up the street offers a far superior pastry and if you're the type to stop time in your mind as you savor all the flavors and textures in concert then it'll be your best bet. I will say the croissant Paris Baguette offers is almost a whole $2 cheaper so there's that. Serviceable enough for kids to enjoy as a "Baby's First Bakery" type of place since they also have donuts. read more

A huge collection of desserts available here! Not only did I like the variety of options here, I loved the fact that they are open till late into the night. So many people love getting a dessert after dinner and this place is located perfectly for that. In the middle of Mountain View downtown, this place is super lively and fun to be around. I loved how spacious the place is for a bakery and the variety it offered. It did get very crowded at some point when I was there but luckily there was ample amount of seating outside which people didn't use since it was cool. Honestly it wasn't too bad for me so me and my friend ended up sitting outside and enjoy our tiramisu. Love love the cakes here! Paris Baguette is my go-to when I've craving a slice of soft cream cake or if I'm getting a cake to celebrate a birthday or special occasion. The cakes here are super light and fluffy without being too sweet and all the flavors from the traditional strawberry and cream to blueberry yogurt and chocolate cakes are delicious! I also love that you can pre-order whole cakes online and they will write Happy Birthday on on the packaging for you. They also provide complimentary candles! I will say the pastry items can be a hit or miss. Overall the croissants and savory breads are good but for the price, I'd say you can find better / less pricy Asian pastries in other bakeries. read more

I love Paris Baguette and have been going to different locations for years. This location is a little hard to love. Castro St. is a busy area. The staff always seem stressed and overwhelmed whenever I go here. When I last went here, they shoved the cakes inside the box and smushed them. They also seem to run out of pastries pretty often. In any case, the flavors are good like any other location. There is a lot of seating as well. I recommend any of the cakes on display, croissant donut, and cheese tart. read more

I personally like the berries with fresh cream chiffon vanilla cake, but the fam likes the chocolate chiffon version better. Either way, you can't go wrong with berries and fresh cream here. For the pastries and bread, the milk bread here is fantastic and pairs well with both savory and sweet. I've had it with several jams as well as dipped it into lobster bisque. I've gone to other locations before but this was my first time visiting this Mountain View location. Came by on a weekday afternoon just to pick up a couple baked pastries for lunch. This is a really nice looking location! Right along the strip of Downtown Mountain View, so this area has lots of different bakeries and restaurants within walking distance. The pastries looked great and really fresh. The whole set up looked organized and clean. If I was in the Mountain View area again, I would consider returning to this place. Finally, I was allowed to physically walk into this bakery. This is because I like to say that I have a sweet saber-tooth. Why do I call it saber-tooth? Imagine the size of a human tooth vs a saber-tooth. :) So, usually every time my wife and I pass by one of these locations, with a gasp I exclaim, "Paaariiss Bagueettttte!!" And then she always tells me that I don't need to go there because I need eat healthy, yadda yadda yadda. But, this magical day. Yes, magical indeed, I was able to step foot through the portal, sending me over into an alternate reality. Perhaps, I was only dreaming. Oh no, this is real, I am inside a Paris Baguette. So, now that I had made it inside, I was excited to think about what adventures lie before me. I looked over on the left through the glass door shelves to see what were all the left over options, there wasn't much. And shockingly, I now realized that I wasn't even craving anything. How could this be, that I was actually inside one of my fav places and I didn't care for any of it? But instead, my wife was that one craving something and we ended up picking up this tapioca bun. Must be the twilight zone ! *nee nuu nee nuu* (is that how the song sounds?) Anyhow, we noticed that there weren't any of those wax paper left. And us, being paranoid about germs (Yes, I guess these still existed in this Paris Baguette dimension), we didn't want to put the bun directly on those trays without any wax paper. So, instead we did the clamp method with the tongs and just grabbed a bun and held it through the line. In a way, I was paranoid that I might actually get bumped by someone in line. This would, in high probability, send this little ball through the air and plopping on the floor. I could imagine my pain if that happened, like a soccer player missing a PK. But maybe it wasn't too bad. Since the hard part was actually making it into the store, why not defy more odds and do a matrix move to avoid losing my bun? Anyway, I guess we were still hungry so we were looking at the pre-made sandwiches. The egg salad sandwich looked tempting. However, after seeing some condensation on the package, we were unsure about how long it had been there. Eating soggy bread would make an unenjoyable meal and we would hate to waste the food by tossing it away. And then, it came upon us. A possible lifesaver! There was a ham and cheese baguette! After all, if the bakery is called baguette, then the baguette has to be good right??! So, we decided to purchase that also. We asked the kind and helpful cashier to have it toasted. I wanted ensure the bread is crispy! If it's crispy, then it can't be soggy! So, all was done and transaction was complete. And we stepped out of the portal and we're back. Just like the song "Back to life" by Soul ii Soul. So, we first had a taste of the ham and cheese baguette. It still had a slight crunch sound when we ate. So that was a plus. But what I didn't enjoy was that the ham and cheese part was still pretty cold. It probably just needed to be toasted a wee bit longer. Next, my wife enjoyed her fav tapioca bun and it was literally "SO GOOD". I didn't get to try any though since I wanted to let her get the full experience of the bun. She rarely ever says anything is really good so it really must have been good. Not to mention, it was finished completely and not a crumb remained! So, if ya ever wandering around this location, then definitely swing by and try a tapioca bun.
