But here, they actually checked in with us and asked if we wanted sample cups when they noticed us standing around deciding on flavors, which I thought was a really thoughtful touch! Disappointing to say the least. There were no kid sized containers and we weren't allowed to sample anything! The one person working was mostly in the back and apparently couldn't be bothered. I came to use my $5 Birthday Rewards to get a little treat for myself this past Monday. The cashier asked me if I wanted to use my rewards, and I said yes. She then wished me a Happy Birthday. However, she then accidentally charged me for the full amount. I explained this to her after I saw what I was charged for afterwards, and she agreed that she made a mistake but could not give me back credit because her manager was not there. She took my name and phone number and said they would get back to me. I just called back 2 days later since I hadn't heard anything. The person answering told me that the manager wasn't there, and I asked if they could call me back after explaining the situation again of what happened. This location is in a very busy shopping center with restaurants like Panda Express, Pizza my heart, Starbucks and a drugstore. This is located on the corner of El Monte and El Camino. I don't usually crave frozen yogurt bc as a kid it tasted like plastic or too tart. I'm assuming the formula has changed and it's a lot more appealing. One thing I like about frozen yogurt is the flavors are mostly fruit like, seasonal or standard traditions. The cool thing about frozen yogurt is one can customize it because you're the one controlling the handle For the soft serve to fold into your cup and one can add as much or as you'd like. Plus at the very end, you can add your own customize toppings. My go to is usually lychee strips because it's not something I see often, as well as popping Boba and maybe for the crunch I will add cookie crumbs or a crunch orbrittle if available. The possibilities are endless. But for warning, it's not inexpensive. But that is like the last thing I'm thinking of as I'm excited to add the different flavors of yogurt into my cup. I think I have never left below $15. is that the average price or am I overdoing it? One good tip is you can get samples before figuring out what flavors you want so you'll have to walk to the cashier first and ask for the sample cup and then return back to the row of soft serve yogurts. During our visit on Friday night, the only thing colder than the yogurt was the lack of a warm welcome . What we got was stone cold straight face and a request for a tip. As of August 2024, this Yogurtland location has been renovated and we were told it's also under new management. The space was nice and clean with new branded decor. The staff was friendly and introduced the seasonal flavors to us. I always appreciate clean machines and well stocked toppings, and that was the case here. This is "Yogurtland" in the El Monte Shopping Center in Mountain View, CA. My friend and I had just finished dinner in Los Altos, and she suggested a quick dessert here. I was familiar with the area because Local Kitchens @ Mountain View is right next door. We walked in at about 7pm, and the place was empty. We surveyed the flavors, and my friend asked for sample cups. The clerk said they ran out, and offered us spoons instead. I served myself chocolate and strawberry/banana, no toppings. I'm not an expert on frozen desserts. I just know my dentist suggested it to sooth my mouth. The chocolate was creamy, but not too sweet. I tasted a very slight bitterness. The strawberry/banana was delicious, but was more like a sorbet than frozen yogurt. Okay, it's not a failure if frozen yogurt is like a icy sorbet. I believe it has to do with sugar content. Also, it has to do with how popular that flavor is, and how frozen the mix is. Customer service was very good. My friend asked the clerk to store her cup in the freezer while she waited on me. I didn't know they provided that service. I'm an old school fast food mgr, for me everything is "grab and go." Negs: The green/white decor with silver seating is a bit dreary.
