Special matcha feature from paragon: their summer mango sago matcha! Paragon might be one of the only places that does the ratio right where you can taste both the mango and the matcha my only comment is that no flexibility in milk choice (oat only) is a bit unfortunate. I find oat overpowering at times and can also thicken up the matcha. Since the syrup is already thick, this made the drink a little on the heavy side and was a little bit too creamy for my liking.
Such a cute little tea shop! I got the classic iced matcha with oat milk and slightly sweetened. It was perfect! Nutty, smooth and deep umami finish. That's how a good quality ceremonial grade matcha is supposed to taste like! I also got the matcha white chocolate cookie and it was the best decision. The staff were friendly too! Highly recommend!
This place was packed but well worth the wait. I had the mango roasted matcha latte with oatmilk and my god it was delicious. I ended up buying the matcha powder to make at home.
Very busy location - there is usually a pretty long line-up, so be sure to give yourself time. Additionally, the parking lot is somewhat a zoo. Store is super clean and bright - and has a nice selection of merchandise - teas, matcha whisks etc. I really liked the Obsidian oat and the Hojicha offerings. The obsidian tastes like a black sesame latte (yes please!) They are pretty consistent across locations - so definitely worth a try!
The double shot matcha latte here is amazing!! The matcha flavor is really strong and the sweetness is perfect. They only have oat and soy milk options which is great if you're lactose intolerant! There's not a lot of seating inside and the place is overall pretty small so it's not much of a sit-down and drink cafe. Highly recommend the double shot matcha if you can handle the caffeine! It's a pretty decent price for how much you can get

As much as I like the brand and the drink, it was a very expensive one...coming out to almost $11 after a small tip.
I was looking for something different as I was visiting from California and oh boy what a great gem we found! We stumbled upon this place and as someone that enjoys black sesame and is a matcha connoisseur, I had to go with the black sesame matcha oat. The moment that flavor touched my lips, I knew I was in trouble. I became hooked! It was a perfect blend of both flavors and just sweet enough to not go full bitter but also not drown down either flavors. This is a place I would DEFINITELY come back to. Will I come cross the border again and add this to my must stop list? Yes, yes I will. The parking was plentiful and the inside was a cozy vibe. The staff was efficient and sweet.
I really love Paragon. They have a bustling grab and go business with a few tables to enjoy drinks at. Paragon specializes in teas. Their matcha is really good. They use 5g of matcha in their lattes! They also sell their powdered matcha. Their mango hojicha powder is really yummy also! They also have a powdered genmaicha that is very convenient to have at home. It looks like they have an online store, so you can even get their teas shipped to you!
It was my first time visiting their Richmond location! I arrived around 1030am and there was already a short lineup at the store. They're currently doing black Friday promos and this week's was hojicha. I ordered the matcha bbt with 30% sweetness and it was pretty delicious, though I would have enjoyed an even stronger matcha flavor profile. The longest part of the wait was the line to order - they have a strict policy of only 5 people waiting in line inside at a time, so if it's raining you better have an umbrella! They have a bar seating area at the front but it's currently closed off as an online order pickup area, leaving a few small tables and a bench seating area along the back wall. I saw a few people working their with their laptops so it must be a quiet enough place to work/study. Their cookies looked really good to so I'll have to try it some other time... Parking seems relatively easy on the medium sized lot. Oh and they also have a sign at the entrance that says no pictures of staff faces - I think that's a kind gesture by the business to protect their staff's identities from being plastered all over the Internet, so please respect that :)

They have wifi and there are seatings inside for studying/working. I got the matcha genmaicha oat, which is a toasty, ricey green tea and exactly how I like it! The flavor was yummy and I enjoyed my drink a lot!
I made a visit to Paragon Tea Room after hearing that it was the best matcha in Canada. Was it the best matcha I have ever had? No, but it was pretty good. The 16 oz goes for around $8.75 and I love that they have a variety of high quality teas for purchase. The Matcha Oat Latte with Black Sesame had a strong black sesame flavor infused into the milk. I actually preferred the Thai Tea over the matcha. I would've definitely lowered the sweetness if I knew ahead of time that it could be lowered. The cafe doesn't have much seating for how busy it gets, but I'd visit again if I was in the area!

Their drinks are always so good and the customer service is also very friendly.

It's a a cozy spot with quality drinks and snacks. Came on a Wed afternoon and the seating was full inside already. They only allow max 5 people line up inside the cafe so we had to wait outside for a bit. Tried the Classic Hojicha Oat Latte with 30% sweet -- really nice roasted flavor and smooth! Very nice of the cashier advise me that this drink is on a sweeter side so I asked for a less sweet version. The mochi muffin were super tasty and a reasonable price of $2.75 each. The cookies looked amazing, but I didn't try them this time. Only downside is the parking, since each shop only has a few spots. Otherwise, great drinks and snacks -- I'll be back to try more!

Paragon Tea Room is in an interesting spot - the exterior is industrial and right under a highway, but the inside is chic and filled with matcha merch. The shop is a bit cramped as there were a lot of people and tiny tables. I ordered the Classic Matcha Oat with Double Shot Matcha, which was creamy but didn't have as strong of a matcha flavor as I expected. read more

Huge line. Had to try it. Really good milk tea drink. Not overly sweet. I'd say their strength is the matcha. Very authentic. They ran out of waffles which was disappointing. read more
Love that Paragon offers more than just tea - they have egg waffles both sweet and savory, pastries, and sweets. Lines can get long and waits can add up since they measure their ingredients for every drink which results in great consistency and quality. I got the mango sago matcha latte and it was delicious! Also they had a seasonal osmanthus matcha cookie which was great - strong matcha flavor with an essence of osmanthus. Note that the drinks come on the more unsweetened side so if you want a sweet treat, request for more sweetener. Also, the drinks come with oat milk as a base which is nice. read more

We came here for both their drinks and their egg waffle. They have a black sesame flavored egg waffle that we wanted to try out. It was well made and definitely worth it. I had the iced hojicha obsidian oat and also tried the matcha black sesame oat hot. Both were well made and leaving me wanting more. read more
This place may be small with limited seating, but it's clearly meant to shine as a takeout spot ..,and wow, does it deliver! Everything we tried was beyond phenomenal. The bubble waffle was perfectly crispy on the outside and irresistibly chewy on the inside. The chocolate cookie and mochi muffin were out of this world, and the matcha was absolutely perfect. Service was ok but I'm obsessed with this place already and can't recommend it enough! read more
I tried the mango Hojicha Oat and loved it. I could taste those three elements and it was a new combination I've never had before that worked well together. Service was good. Employee recommended 30% sweetness which I don't normally do but I'm glad I followed her recommendation. I definitely want to come back next Vancouver trip. read more
Minority, that would be myself. I felt like a minority in here. In all things Richmond, it's Asia Major and not Asia Minor. Not only that, this is in the key of F major since M minor does not exist, especially in here. You can tell the moment you walk in. There's a certain attraction about tea houses. It attracts the F major inclined crowd, and the M minors if they're fluidly inclined, or if they're there as a supporting cast member. I can't say I'm fluid. I'm pretty rigid. The paraphenalia in here are all things T&A, - with the A being accompaniment. The accompaniments are to your whimsical imagination. I went with the hojicha. Something to soothe my satisfaction after my overdose of T. There's an assortment of T as well as A. Choose wisely. You just might get hooked. BTW, if you're a M Minor looking for a F Major for a duet perfomance, my suggestions to you are: Come here Dress well Groom well Behave yourself as if you're with polite company Speak slowly and maybe your musical notes will elevate you above the verbal steatorrhea, that is common amongst the M minors looking for F Majors. The hojicha honeycomb is my recomentation for the A, but it's up to you. Free parking in the lots nearby. After you're done with the T&A, go next door to Kam Do bakery for some wife cakes. That story will be for an encore. Get your mind out of the gutter. read more
This place was packed on a Sunday afternoon. The matcha was not up to my standards because it was very. The mango hojicha was delicious though! I bought some to take home then bought some more. They make their matcha there with a pinch of salt and I think that takes the umami flavor a bit, but when I made it at home, it was too mild for my liking. read more
This is my go-to spot whenever I crave a hojicha latte! My favorite is the Hojicha Obsidian latte, so much so that I even bought their hojicha powder to make it at home. While it's usually busy when I visit, they always have plenty of staff, so I never have to wait long for my drink. The cafe has limited seating, and the seats are often taken when we visit, so I usually get drinks to go. There's plenty of free parking in the complex. Overall, this place is a must-try, and I'm so happy they now have a location in Richmond! read more

It was a cold morning, my wife and I needed hot beverage to warm us up. We came to this tea room as we visited their main shop in Cambie Street before. This tea room has a similar theme of interior and there are several tables and single person seats opposite to the cashier. We ordered matcha latte and tea misto. They both had a bold taste of tea and silky milk foam on top. The taste was satisfactorily rich. This is one of the best tea rooms to go in Richmond. read more
The line was super long when we went on a Sunday. There is a small seating area on the left side of the cafe. I got the iced matcha genmaicha oat drink there and it was the best matcha drink I've tried in Canada so far. It was so toasty, nutty, and refreshing. My friends bought some of the tea leaves there which they highly recommend. We're definitely going to come back here again in the future when we visit! read more
We went here after lunch on a Thursday and there were 30 people in line which is a bit wild. It's good but a bit overhyped. We got the matcha genmaicha oat and matcha black sesame oat. The genmaicha has a nice roasted flavor and very fragrant, but the black sesame one was a bit disappointing as it was overpowering in black sesame, so I could barely taste the matcha. Additionally, I'm not a fan of a $0.85 surcharge for making it iced, as if the drinks themselves were already not expensive enough. read more

such a gem and a great place to go to as a non-coffee person. that said, i do wish they had more non-alternative milk (oat) options rather than just their matcha coconut refresher and their basic teas. unlike my fellow asian friends, i am not lactose-intolerant and do refer my cow milk over any other kind of alternative milk. i really wanted to try their latte offerings, but knew i wouldn't like it. their matcha is good and light-bodied, but not as umami as how i like mine. cool merch wall and would've purchased a bag of their matcha but saw a mum buy 6 bags for her daughter and the ever-growing line and said no thanks. maybe a separate line just for picking up their matcha powder/teas would've been a great option. be prepared to line up on the weekends! line goes fairly quickly though. parking is difficult as is with most plazas in the area - had to be dropped off. would return if they add more dairy options. read more

Tried out their new location which was much more convenient for me! I went when they had just newly opened and so the service was quite slow - we had waited for our drinks for 15-20minutes. I went back a couple weeks later and the rush had died down and it was probably around a 5 min wait for drinks. There was around 5-6 tables of various sizes and a good place to chat with friends. Doesn't seem like a great place to work though as it's pretty busy. My favourite drink to get here is the mango hojicha latte - I will always gravitate towards this one! On a different day, I tried their season special of kinako genmaicha. I liked the salted rim as it provided a contrast in taste compared to the lighter tasting genmaicha. It was yummy but also a bit messy. It's always good, but slightly a treat because they only offer one cup size and each drink is $7. Not cheap! read more
I went to Paragon Tea on Cambie recently for the first time and could not believe I had been sleeping on this place for so long. I have always heard extremely positive reviews of this place in the past - especially from one of my close friends who had the opportunity to chat and get to know the owner's story. I am always happy to support Asian Women owned businesses and love that the owner is serious about travelling the world to find the best tea to serve in her store! I came during their Richmond grand opening almost month ago (late review oops) and opted for a few delicious staples - their black sesame waffle and the obsidian hojicha latte. The latte has an intense deep flavour, a true reflection of its name and is great for true tea lovers. My friend opted for the salted kinako genmaicha and after trying a sip I have to say - what unique and delightful flavours! The store was insanely busy, huge props to the staff for holding it down. I got war flashbacks from working at a bubble tea/waffle store back in day haha. There is minimal seating which is a shame because the vibes and ambiance are perfect for study dates. I'll have to return anytime I'm craving a good tea and to use my sticker coupons from the grand opening! read more
My extensive research revealed that the local matcha critics agree this is the best matcha in van. And it is pretty darn good. The matcha is on the milder side and very balanced in all profiles. Their latte comes with just one shot so I added an extra shot for 95 cents CAD. Absolutely add the extra shot, it was perfect!! It's a bustling shop with not a ton of space. A couple of tables and chairs, but you kind of have to squeeze if you're standing and waiting. read more

I have always been a big fan of Paragon. Ever since they were located beside the Cambie Bridge, I've been buying their tea powder, drinks, and baked goods. They offer a variety of Matcha, Houjicha, and other tea items. My regular order is a Matcha or Houjicha drink, especially the mango-flavored one. I recently heard they opened a new location in Richmond, so I stopped by and ordered my usual Mango Houjicha latte. It was very flavorful and creamy, and the sugar level was perfect. I discovered that this location also offers bubble waffles, which look very good. I also found mochi muffins and cookies. I like the display of tea powders and tea ceremony goods, and I believe they'll offer more baked goods to pair with their teas. I can't wait to visit again. read more
This is a review for their previous location but it's safe to say Paragon makes the best matcha lattes in the city. Went with my friends for the first time and my mind was blown, the matcha was incredibly rich, nutty, delicious perfection. They also make their oat milk in house if i recall. My friend got the hojicha and another got the thai tea and it was just as amazing. Their matcha miso cookie was nice too. read more
So glad to have a location in Richmond now, right on No.3 Road and conveniently located by Aberdeen station. Visited during their second soft opening day and got my drink in no time at 6pm. Having religiously gone to the original location, I think the HK milk tea used to be more punchy and heavier on the tea flavor (which I liked), but the recipes might still be adjusting during this soft opening. The matcha color and flavor was fantastic and suits the oat milk really well. I love the attention that Paragon puts towards the quality of their teas and it makes such a difference when comparing this local establishment to the other bubble tea chains close by. With the new space, they've increased their tea retail space. This is the place to go if you're looking for their self produced tea powders of all kinds and they have all the tools you need to make a great drink at home. read more
