This place was packed but well worth the wait. I had the mango roasted matcha latte with oatmilk and my god it was delicious. I ended up buying the matcha powder to make at home.

Double shot matcha latte, matcha black sesame latte
    Selina H.

The double shot matcha latte here is amazing!! The matcha flavor is really strong and the sweetness is perfect. They only have oat and soy milk options which is great if you're lactose intolerant! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's not a lot of seating inside and the place is overall pretty small so it's not much of a sit-down and drink cafe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend the double shot matcha if you can handle the caffeine! It's a pretty decent price for how much you can get

Very busy location - there is usually a pretty long line-up, so be sure to give yourself time. Additionally, the parking lot is somewhat a zoo. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Store is super clean and bright - and has a nice selection of merchandise - teas, matcha whisks etc.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I really liked the Obsidian oat and the Hojicha offerings. The obsidian tastes like a black sesame latte (yes please!) They are pretty consistent across locations - so definitely worth a try!

I was looking for something different as I was visiting from California and oh boy what a great gem we found! We stumbled upon this place and as someone that enjoys black sesame and is a matcha connoisseur, I had to go with the black sesame matcha oat. The moment that flavor touched my lips, I knew I was in trouble. I became hooked! It was a perfect blend of both flavors and just sweet enough to not go full bitter but also not drown down either flavors. This is a place I would DEFINITELY come back to. Will I come cross the border again and add this to my must stop list? Yes, yes I will. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The parking was plentiful and the inside was a cozy vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was efficient and sweet.

Iced hojicha with kinako cold foam

Waiting time: 5/5 Cleanliness: 3.5/5 ‍Service: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Pricing: 2/5 Overall: I was really excited that their iced hojicha with kinako cold foam was still available so of course I had to get it! The drink was refreshing but I think they can hold back a bit on the kinako powder that they top the drink off with. Parking is not the easiest here so I was dropped off while my partner waited in the car. The space is really small but they've done a great job at optimizing it. As much as I like the brand and the drink, it was a very expensive one...coming out to almost $11 after a small tip.

I really love Paragon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a bustling grab and go business with a few tables to enjoy drinks at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Paragon specializes in teas. Their matcha is really good. They use 5g of matcha in their lattes! They also sell their powdered matcha. Their mango hojicha powder is really yummy also! They also have a powdered genmaicha that is very convenient to have at home. It looks like they have an online store, so you can even get their teas shipped to you!

It was my first time visiting their Richmond location! I arrived around 1030am and there was already a short lineup at the store. They're currently doing black Friday promos and this week's was hojicha. I ordered the matcha bbt with 30% sweetness and it was pretty delicious, though I would have enjoyed an even stronger matcha flavor profile. The longest part of the wait was the line to order - they have a strict policy of only 5 people waiting in line inside at a time, so if it's raining you better have an umbrella! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a bar seating area at the front but it's currently closed off as an online order pickup area, leaving a few small tables and a bench seating area along the back wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I saw a few people working their with their laptops so it must be a quiet enough place to work/study.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their cookies looked really good to so I'll have to try it some other time... Parking seems relatively easy on the medium sized lot. Oh and they also have a sign at the entrance that says no pictures of staff faces - I think that's a kind gesture by the business to protect their staff's identities from being plastered all over the Internet, so please respect that :)

Heard that this is the best matcha place in town, so had to come check it out myself! The location is not super noticeable and the parking area seemed a bit secluded, but I'm not sure if it is because we visited on a wednesday afternoon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have wifi and there are seatings inside for studying/working.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the matcha genmaicha oat, which is a toasty, ricey green tea and exactly how I like it! The flavor was yummy and I enjoyed my drink a lot!

Black Sesame Matcha and Thai Tea
    Rebecca H.

I made a visit to Paragon Tea Room after hearing that it was the best matcha in Canada. Was it the best matcha I have ever had? No, but it was pretty good. The 16 oz goes for around $8.75 and I love that they have a variety of high quality teas for purchase. The Matcha Oat Latte with Black Sesame had a strong black sesame flavor infused into the milk. I actually preferred the Thai Tea over the matcha. I would've definitely lowered the sweetness if I knew ahead of time that it could be lowered. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cafe doesn't have much seating for how busy it gets, but I'd visit again if I was in the area![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    matcha mango sago
    Amanda L.

I ordered their matcha mango sago and it was quite good, but I found it hard to mix both flavors together. They were unable to change the ice levels, but they assured me that the ice levels were already less than their normal drinks. I was happy with the amount of ice that was served in the drink. Their drinks are always so good and the customer service is also very friendly.

Tried the limited edition kinako hojicha cold foam. Perfect at 15% sweetness. Hope they bring this drink back in the future as I would come every day for it

Classic Hojicha Oat - really nice roasted flavor and smooth
    Joyce L.

I originally came to Paragon Tea Room for their special mooncakes, but they were a little too pricey for me this time. ($80 dollar for 4! )Instead, I ended up enjoying their other food and drinks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a a cozy spot with quality drinks and snacks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Came on a Wed afternoon and the seating was full inside already.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They only allow max 5 people line up inside the cafe so we had to wait outside for a bit. Tried the Classic Hojicha Oat Latte with 30% sweet -- really nice roasted flavor and smooth! Very nice of the cashier advise me that this drink is on a sweeter side so I asked for a less sweet version. The mochi muffin were super tasty and a reasonable price of $2.75 each. The cookies looked amazing, but I didn't try them this time. Only downside is the parking, since each shop only has a few spots. Otherwise, great drinks and snacks -- I'll be back to try more!

    Albert K.

Huge line. Had to try it. Really good milk tea drink. Not overly sweet. I'd say their strength is the matcha. Very authentic. They ran out of waffles which was disappointing.

The staff were helpful, but more smiles would make customer feel more welcome. I saw two fancy brewing machines and saw the tea dripping out so this is a good sign. The prices are a little higher comparted to other bubbles places, but the freshly brewed tea makes it a higher quality of taste. I ordered the Taro Queen and enjoyed, and you can choose the amount of ice and sweetness. Loved sipping to find the taro paste but not alot of tea to drink. Not sure if I come back as there are other options.

Got the bubble volcano made with oat milk - I am fully aware there is no tea in this drink, and the cashier did note that. However the drink was very disappointing - as it was 25% ice, 65% FOAM and probably got like 10% worth of actual drinkable liquid. The Brown sugar taste was good , not overwhelming - however the amount of liquid for the price paid was seriously laughable. - Oat milk does come out of the carton pretty foamy after you shake it, however that doesn't mean you serve a cup of foam. Will not recommend - bubble tea scene is super competitive, especially in Richmond -

All ads noted that you'd have to order through the fantuan app. The promotion was $2.99 each for their most popular 3 drinks. So we had a family gathering and I had gathered everyone's order the day before since this was definitely a good deal and i always had relatively positive review for the vendor. My husband arrived and tried to order off the app. It turned out that he was only able to order ONE drink at $2.99 and the rest of the drinks were at regular price. Nowhere and not one influencer even mentioned that customers are only limited to one drink at the promo price. Husband inquired with the staff and they offloaded the responsibility to fantuan, saying that the promotion was whatever that was on the app. Did they not review the accuracy of the marketing posts? Or were the posts simply a walk-in bait? I just felt this was very dishonest. Fantuan had a 40% off deal. So instead of the total order coming to $24, with one promo price and all else at regular, it ended up being $20. In conclusion, we had expected to spend $2.99 per drink but it ended up being $5 per drink. What a scam. My family advised that we shouldn't have proceeded with the order. What's even worst was that all drinks were watered down. I read comments on Instagram and apparently many other customers also felt the same. I'm never going back to such a dishonest vendor. Don't try to blame it on fantuan app when you were the one who invited the influencers to do those media posts.
