Double shot matcha latte, matcha black sesame latte
    Selina H.

The double shot matcha latte here is amazing!! The matcha flavor is really strong and the sweetness is perfect. They only have oat and soy milk options which is great if you're lactose intolerant! There's not a lot of seating inside and the place is overall pretty small so it's not much of a sit-down and drink cafe. Highly recommend the double shot matcha if you can handle the caffeine! It's a pretty decent price for how much you can get

I was looking for something different as I was visiting from California and oh boy what a great gem we found! We stumbled upon this place and as someone that enjoys black sesame and is a matcha connoisseur, I had to go with the black sesame matcha oat. The moment that flavor touched my lips, I knew I was in trouble. I became hooked! It was a perfect blend of both flavors and just sweet enough to not go full bitter but also not drown down either flavors. This is a place I would DEFINITELY come back to. Will I come cross the border again and add this to my must stop list? Yes, yes I will. The parking was plentiful and the inside was a cozy vibe. The staff was efficient and sweet.

Nice matcha and hojicha drinks! Recommend to anyone who is a tea lover. Note that their drinks are in the sweeter side so make sure you ask beforehand. Ordered at 30% sweet and it was too much.

I really love Paragon. They have a bustling grab and go business with a few tables to enjoy drinks at. Paragon specializes in teas. Their matcha is really good. They use 5g of matcha in their lattes! They also sell their powdered matcha. Their mango hojicha powder is really yummy also! They also have a powdered genmaicha that is very convenient to have at home. It looks like they have an online store, so you can even get their teas shipped to you!

It was my first time visiting their Richmond location! I arrived around 1030am and there was already a short lineup at the store. They're currently doing black Friday promos and this week's was hojicha. I ordered the matcha bbt with 30% sweetness and it was pretty delicious, though I would have enjoyed an even stronger matcha flavor profile. The longest part of the wait was the line to order - they have a strict policy of only 5 people waiting in line inside at a time, so if it's raining you better have an umbrella! They have a bar seating area at the front but it's currently closed off as an online order pickup area, leaving a few small tables and a bench seating area along the back wall. I saw a few people working their with their laptops so it must be a quiet enough place to work/study. Their cookies looked really good to so I'll have to try it some other time... Parking seems relatively easy on the medium sized lot. Oh and they also have a sign at the entrance that says no pictures of staff faces - I think that's a kind gesture by the business to protect their staff's identities from being plastered all over the Internet, so please respect that :)

Heard that this is the best matcha place in town, so had to come check it out myself! The location is not super noticeable and the parking area seemed a bit secluded, but I'm not sure if it is because we visited on a wednesday afternoon. They have wifi and there are seatings inside for studying/working. I got the matcha genmaicha oat, which is a toasty, ricey green tea and exactly how I like it! The flavor was yummy and I enjoyed my drink a lot!

Black Sesame Matcha and Thai Tea

I made a visit to Paragon Tea Room after hearing that it was the best matcha in Canada. Was it the best matcha I have ever had? No, but it was pretty good. The 16 oz goes for around $8.75 and I love that they have a variety of high quality teas for purchase. The Matcha Oat Latte with Black Sesame had a strong black sesame flavor infused into the milk. I actually preferred the Thai Tea over the matcha. I would've definitely lowered the sweetness if I knew ahead of time that it could be lowered. The cafe doesn't have much seating for how busy it gets, but I'd visit again if I was in the area!

    matcha mango sago
    Amanda L.

I ordered their matcha mango sago and it was quite good, but I found it hard to mix both flavors together. They were unable to change the ice levels, but they assured me that the ice levels were already less than their normal drinks. I was happy with the amount of ice that was served in the drink. Their drinks are always so good and the customer service is also very friendly.

Classic Hojicha Oat - really nice roasted flavor and smooth

I originally came to Paragon Tea Room for their special mooncakes, but they were a little too pricey for me this time. ($80 dollar for 4! )Instead, I ended up enjoying their other food and drinks. It's a a cozy spot with quality drinks and snacks. Came on a Wed afternoon and the seating was full inside already. They only allow max 5 people line up inside the cafe so we had to wait outside for a bit. Tried the Classic Hojicha Oat Latte with 30% sweet -- really nice roasted flavor and smooth! Very nice of the cashier advise me that this drink is on a sweeter side so I asked for a less sweet version. The mochi muffin were super tasty and a reasonable price of $2.75 each. The cookies looked amazing, but I didn't try them this time. Only downside is the parking, since each shop only has a few spots. Otherwise, great drinks and snacks -- I'll be back to try more!

We came here for both their drinks and their egg waffle. They have a black sesame flavored egg waffle that we wanted to try out. It was well made and definitely worth it. I had the iced hojicha obsidian oat and also tried the matcha black sesame oat hot. Both were well made and leaving me wanting more.

Love that Paragon offers more than just tea - they have egg waffles both sweet and savory, pastries, and sweets. Lines can get long and waits can add up since they measure their ingredients for every drink which results in great consistency and quality. I got the mango sago matcha latte and it was delicious! Also they had a seasonal osmanthus matcha cookie which was great - strong matcha flavor with an essence of osmanthus. Note that the drinks come on the more unsweetened side so if you want a sweet treat, request for more sweetener. Also, the drinks come with oat milk as a base which is nice.

    Queenie L.

Delicious and absolutely amazing. Paragon is at the top of my matcha list and always serves exceptional drinks. This matcha mango sago was no exception. The perfect blend of both mango purée and matcha made for a complex flavour that complimented each other so well without competition. If this is what marriage is like, everyone would want to get married. We came to this location on a Saturday evening and there was a small line but nothing crazy, we didn't have to wait too long until we got our drinks as they were pumping these out with a rhythm.

I tried the mango Hojicha Oat and loved it. I could taste those three elements and it was a new combination I've never had before that worked well together. Service was good. Employee recommended 30% sweetness which I don't normally do but I'm glad I followed her recommendation. I definitely want to come back next Vancouver trip.

The matcha drinks and desserts were beautifully presented and tasted rich and authentic, with that deep, fragrant matcha flavor that's never too sweet. We have today: Hojicha shaved ice, replaced with matcha ice cream. This location in Richmond had ran out of Hojicha ice cream for a long time. We asked every time when they will have hojicha ice cream back and staff doesn't know either. Hojicha Chestnut Shortcake, Cake is soft and fluffy, and very too sweet. It is always my favorite. This time i gave a 4 stars is because they discontinue serving Onigiri ( rice ball) and savory item. That's too bad! I love their Onigiri and ramen! When I had the chance to go to Vancouver, BC with my boyfriend I wanted to go here! First all, you need a reservation specifically for the high tea portion so we booked that ahead of time. As you go in you are led to an area of Tsujiri where there are just tatami mats and no shoes are allowed on it. We were first sat down with matcha to start with and the music surrounding us was serene and calming. Then came the high tea, compared to your usual high tea, without the Japanese fusion. This came with a lot of interesting treats. In the middle tier, there was your savory two different types of onigiri, savory rice cakes, and elevated salad with a jelly. The salad was incredible and unlike anything I've had before. The onigiris were good as they should be so was the rice cakes. Top tier and bottom tier consisted of the desserts one plate for me and one plate for my boyfriend. My favorite was the mango mochi. It was so creamy and delicious! The other dessert was solid too, I like the little mousse cake. I also liked the add on of a matcha sauce for the fruits. Tsujiri definitely transformed high tea into a Japanese version and it was well put. Both usually make me full. I do wish there was more options on savories you could have before eating the sweets, but this is a slightly different experience.

They used some kind of strawberry sauce and it was very tasty. I asked for no sugar and ice so the drink was perfect because it was only slightly sweetened by the strawberry sauce. 2) four season milk tea with ultimate chew - I read that they're known for their four season and so I had wanted to try. It was pretty good though my personal preference was a stronger tea taste. I found the pearls a little bit harder than usual and thus it was quite chewy. I honestly wasn't a huge fan of his wheel cake but that's no fault of the shop. Red bean is something I'm generally not crazy about to begin with. I have learned over the years that I can appreciate red bean as a bubble tea drink if it's all blended up. However, it's the chunks of bean that I don't like, and this wheel cake had chunks of bean in it. Might have gone over better with me if it had been filled with a smooth, red bean paste...no chunks of bean in it. That's just personal preference though. The dining space is small but the decoration inside makes you feel like you transported to a different country. Marshmallow Thick Toast 4/5 The toast was about an inch thick, well toasted outside with a pillowy soft center. There's some melted chocolate on the bottom that added to the smores vibe. The marshmallows on top weren't very thick, so it melted to an even layer with perfect browning. The toast was cut into 9 pieces so it can be shared but given the portion I think 1-2 people would be fitting for this dessert. We weren't too hungry, so we shared amongst 4. Jasmine Tea Jelly 4/5 I really liked how fragrant the jelly was and that the jelly was a softer jelly that reminds you of Aiyu jelly. The after taste was a bit bitter but I feel like that tells me it was brewed and made and not just bought to serve. It's served with a splash of half and half I believe. To-Go I wanted to try and compare all the tea flavored jellies they had, Jasmine, Oolong and Earl Grey Tea Jelly. Packaged with small packets of the half and half to add later. The best was OOLONG 5/5- it had a slight roasted tea flavor that was refreshing and comforting at the same time. What you would want from a milk tea. Second best was Jasmine - fragrant and less bitter than the one I had in restaurant, typical jasmine flavor that's lightly floral and not too heavy Earl Grey 3/5 - it was good if you like earl grey like me, but it has an intensely strong fragrance and flavor that might be off-putting if you're not used to the taste. It was by far the strongest floral taste and smell of the three. I'd definitely be back to get these to go, they carry well and you can cross borders with them :)
