I…read morehave a system from them (recommended by CI Design, another company who cannot be recommended) that has NEVER worked. They misrepresented aspects of the installation in the beginning. They were unable and unwilling to fix all the aspects of the system. The system is at least half the time "offline." The TV monitors (and thus the TV) never works if I leave town for two months. The media (CDs) were misinstalled at the beginning, and they "disappeared" when I left town. Their service is non-existent, even at the beginning for a new system. Four years later, the system still doesn't work, and I have employed two new companies to reinstall it and try to fix it. My particular system cost well into the 6 figures in a well into the 7 figure apartment, and it is truly scandalous how useless the system is, thanks to Digital Living, recommended and backed by CI Design

This review is also about their tech support which we had to call for a lot in the past year: first to upgrade our system as we put it in 18 years ago; and then because we remodeled our basement so they had to come out a few times to deal with construction dust setting things off, moving motion detectors when walls were moved, adding new window contacts etc. Two of their service techs specifically are amazing: Gus and Mara. I feel extremely lucky when they send either of them out. Especially Mara. She stands out as being the most competent service tech - of *any company* I have ever dealt with. She assesses the situation, makes recommendations for better solutions, advocates for the customer if needed, and then executes the solution flawlessly, efficiently, quickly. Again shout out to Gus who is A+ but I have to give Mara an A++!

I hadn't had any luck finding a reputable company asking friends, family, or neighbors, so I decided to google local companies who might be able to help. That's how I found Video-Comm. The reviews looked promising, so I gave them a call. Rafael answered and agreed to come over the same day. I told him the cameras over my garage were out, and he agreed to try and repair them. Rafael told me there'd be a service fee plus the cost of labor. He quoted me a conservative estimate of about $300. Rafael and his colleague Diego arrived on time and ready to work. I left them to work in the rear of the property while I tended to my yard. They worked diligently for about three hours before successfully repairing the cameras. It turns out that the wires needed to be replaced. Rafael and Diego replaced the existing wires with copper wires and rewired them. I'm not sure of all the technical jargon, but that was the gist of it. Rafael and Diego had their own truck that had all the equipment they needed. They were quiet and respectful of the property. They cleaned up after themselves, leaving the space as they first encountered it. The final bill was $308. I found Rafael competent, professional, and affable. I'll definitely be calling him again if necessary. In fact, I asked him to send over a quote for an upgraded set of cameras. Now that I've found someone I trust, I'll definitely get new cameras sometime soon.

I ran into some technical issues with offline cameras and changes I made that I could not seem to resolve. Adding to the complexity of my multiple service requests were that remote access tools were not available due to security restrictions at my workplace. They managed to help me restore service to my downed cameras and point me in the right direction on other issues, all without being able to see our network remotely. As someone who has worked in IT & Support for more than 20 years myself, I feel I know good service when I see it and this level of thoroughness and patience is memorable. On just this merit alone, I would recommend Platinum CCTV as a service provider.
