I've been wanting to try this place for some time now and finally made it the other night. The place looks great but I have very mixed feelings about the visit. We wanted to sit at the bar so I could watch the yankee game, they kindly warned us that it was trivia night and we probably won't want to sit by the speaker. I didn't think this would bother me but once it started it was very loud even though we sat at the other end, and I'm glad my son wasn't with is as he was cursing a bit. They did warn me though, I could have sat outside. Service was good and we ordered some cocktails that were very good. As we waited for our food I noticed fruit flies around my drink. I happened to look up and saw that there were 3-4 dozen of them on the back wall where we sat. It was pretty vile. I couldn't sit there so I moved to the other side of the bar (closer to the speaker). The food finally came and everything was tasty. The pizzetta was especially good. I would try this place again if they got rid of the fly problem, but probably not on trivia night. read more

Great place great area , they have live music , the food is good but the taps are even better!

The worst experience !! Food was actually gross .... Entertainment was awful. Drinks were terrible !! DO NOT GO. I will NEVER go back. Do not waste ur time or money!!! TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. I gave it one star because the server was awesome! read more

My mother and I were seated but waited 25 minutes for a waitress to come and ask for our drink order.Than we placed our order and had to wait another 25 minutes for our food. I understand that it was busy but waiting for a waitress for that long is just not OK. The food was not bad, it was decent. read more

I've loved this place since it opened in 2014 and has earned its spot as my family's go-to restaurant for special occasions. Most recently, my mom rented out the private dining room for my bridal shower brunch. And let me tell you, these ladies are still talking about how much fun they had a month after the event! Here's my breakdown. During the brunch: the Chickens Marsala was tender and melted in your mouth like butter. The pasta station was excellent; we chose the Gnocchi, which was soft and delicate. The Eggs Benedict went fast, and they refilled it twice, but I didn't have a chance to try it. All in all, the food was excellent. Booze: you truly can't go wrong here. I think they had the best Bloody Mary's and Mimosas. Plus they were sweet enough to make a mock-tail mimosa (ginger ale(?) and orange juice) for my young nieces at the party. Servers: very attentive at the beginning and made sure drinks were flowing before the chafing buffet was set up. However, once everything was set-up, they disappeared, and I had to ask a few times to have the plates cleared from the tables so we could start the bridal games. Granted they are in their early twenties and aren't career servers, so as much as I hate to say it, I wasn't surprised. So to sum it all up. Go to Paragon Tap & Table if you want to have great food and incredible drinks while making life long memories with the people you love. read more

First time... staff was very pleasant. Thought the alcoholic beverages were too strong tasting and not a great flavor (I like taste of alcohol but not as potent in a mixed drink). We had the apple cider sangria and the chocolate coconut (which taste like coconut rum straight out of bottle). The five onion soup was AMAZING. Also has the buffalo chicken mac and cheese which could have been seasoned a little better but not bad (small portion). The buffalo chicken bacon dip was tasty wish they gave more of it. The short rib pizza had no flavor what so ever had to add salt and pepper to make it taste some what good. Nice decor. And again I am going to say very friendly staff. Don't think I would come again to be honest. Was worth trying though. read more

Great food & service. Love the appetizers as well as the drinks. I have nothing negative to share about this place

Went for the first time this week. I've heard good things about the place but it's so tucked away I never remember to go check it out. We sat at the bar and the place was packed for a Tuesday night. We left before bar trivia, but I want to come back and check out a couple of their events. Food wise, I wasn't impressed. We ordered the cheese plate and the chicken and waffles BLT to share. I love me a good cheese plate, and this was just ok. Too salty and not enough fruit/sweetness to balance out the cheeses and meats. The chicken and waffle sandwich was good. It could have definitely used some more ranch dressing. I could barely taste it in there. They barely had desserts on the menu, and a lot of them were crossed out. That should have been our warning. We ordered the churros and they tasted tough and stale. The sorbet that came with it was delicious though. Would have been a great dessert if the churros were warm and soft. I did like the atmosphere, and do want to try other things. My theory is that you should order simple dishes first because if they screw it up, it's a tell tale sign for the more expensive stuff. Paragon didn't disappoint, but it didn't blow me away either. read more

Went there today for lunch. Got the grilled cheese ribeye with some French fries. Great meal. Sandwich was on point and fries were crispy. Service was excellent as well. Made me a fresh decaf coffee. It was excellent. I've passed by this place many times kind of writing it off. Cant say I'll do that again as the menu has a lot of interesting choices to try. Not a one and done type place. read more

When I tell people i love this place...I MEAN IT! My boyfriend and i come here rather often, and we're never disappointed. The food is delicious and big in portions, huge selection of drinks, every time we come here we never have to wait long for anything, servers are always on top of their game, and just the overall ambiance of the place is great! read more

Y'all this place sucks times ten!! I would say pick the McDonald's across the street or the target food court, rather then head here. The service is good but the food makes me cry tears of terrible sadness. read more

Food is excellent with a twist on old favorites. Love the food and the rotating taps are everything.

I've been to Paragon several times and always enjoyed it. Great food and excellent craft beer options. Last night we had a retirement party for a co-worker here. There were 16 of us and everyone loved it. Food and service were exceptional. Huge thank you to our server Robyn! read more

Always a wonderful place with great service, delicious food and a great selection of beers. Especially nice is the live music on Fridays.

It's just OK. I don't know what this place wants to be. It's too overpriced to be a sports bar, but the food is too mediocre to call itself a gastropub. Sevendust wings could have been good, but they were just absolutely caked in raw spices and still managed to lack seasoning. Onion soup was so overly sweet it tasted like dessert. They must add sugar to caramelize their onions, but it's way too much, and nobody is tasting this before serving. Beer burger was OK, aioli was tasty, but again the meat itself lacked seasoning. Brussels sprouts side was tasty. In fact, Brussels sprouts were the best thing on either of our plates. Beer list is extensive, and our server offered samples of two beers that my bf was deciding between. Unfortunately, two staff members thought it was OK to sit near us in the uncrowded dining area to eat their dinner and crank music on their phones and sing along. And our server didn't stop them or even seem to notice, so it must just be OK for this place. Not ok for me with what they're charging. I have no problem paying for quality, but between food being meh and servers treating the dining area like their high school cafeteria, Paragon won't be going into my regular rotation in the area. A similar menu and vibe at Blu Alehouse in Woodbridge, and they're consistent. read more

Paragon has a great combination of drink and food choices without suffering in either department. Atmosphere is very pleasant and modern, the place is clean and kept up great. Casual atmosphere. We had a friendly, attentive waitress. No complaints! They had an oyster special when we went so we got the Cornmeal Crusted Oysters. We also got the Buffalo Chicken Bacon Dip as an appetizer. Both very good dishes! As entrees I got the Steak & Eggs Mac n'cheese and my bf got the Short Rib Pappardelle. The mac n'cheese was very basic, nothing special - almost like from the box microwave. The pappardelle was the better dish in my opinion. I also ordered the Wolffer Dry Rose Cider as a drink and it was delicious! I'd recommend it highly! read more

I love coming here and sitting outside with a wi band delicious food great atmosphere it's definitely a top pick to eat for me

Pretty solid spot! Strong drinks and yummy food. Fun vibe, but it does get very loud. I'd say only go on a Thursday where they have all day happy hour- $5 select cocktails and $6 select apps. The other menu items are pricey for what you get. A $23 salad? Really? I tried the wings and a flatbread from their happy hour menu which were good. I'll be back on another Thursday to try more apps! read more

This is my new favorite place! The atmosphere is nice, spacious, and dark. I studied the menu, and this is one of the few places that I want to try almost everything on the menu. Basically, the menu is appealing and eclectic. I was expecting much less from a Gastro Pub. I had the Buffalo chicken bacon dip with colorful nachos, and it was pretty freakin amazing. I was full off that dish by itself. It was very rich and flavorful, but not overbearing. This is what you would eat after being dumped lol. The ultimate comfort appetizer. Keep in mind I'm not a fan of Buffalo flavored items, so this was impressive. I came on a Monday and Happy Hour is 4-7. $6 selected appetizer $5 selected martinis (they have a list). They appear to be good for the beer selection, but they have a nice cocktail selection as well. I first had the Mary Pickford martini. It was nice and fruity, but it didn't pack enough punch for the type of day I had. So I asked for the Blood & Sand cocktail (not on the happy hour menu). It was delicious. I'm not a bourbon drinker, but the passion fruit puree combined was a great touch. It was flavorful and strong, and even when I let the drink sit for a while, it still didn't lose its kick. You definitely get your money's worth. My only suggestion would be to serve drinks in bigger glasses. The service was good. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive, and personable. Even, when it started to get a little busy he still managed to give each customer his undivided attention. I would definitely come back to try other things. read more

I'm a fan of the tap and table. I been here on two occasions and both times the food was delicious. I tried the Pork Stick appetizer, 3 rich and tender pork nuggets on the bone with a sweet barbeque sauce. Their 5 onion soup is extremely good- cheesy and salty. My entrée was the roasted Red Snapper on a bed of green bamboo rice and side of root vegetables. The salmon was tender, well seasoned but a little on the small side for my liking. If you like vegetable you may want to try the large Butternut squash entrée under the vegetables category. Their side of Brussel sprouts were perfect, slightly cajun and fresh. They have a huge craft beer presence here. They serve flights to those wishing to try 5 of their Draft beets at a time. They also advertise a unique mixed drink menu for the ladies. Both Friday nights i arrived The bar was packed and lively. Servers were pleasant and the cook came to our table to ask how our meal was! read more

Really impressed by the food, the beer selection and over the top service. We were travelling through Jersey on our way to DC and wanted to try a place near the turnpike. Needless to say we were very impressed. The prices were standard and for the amount of food you get (see Southwest burger pic) they were very good. We had the Southwest burger, add bleu cheese (thanks to the recommendation), and it was delicious and filling. The fries it came with were really good as well. Also tried the Roasted Poblanos, and they were pretty tasty for a veggie meal, wife enjoyed it. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the NFL playoffs in three separate screens (with the sound on, as it should be enjoyed). The bartender made good beer recommendations. Both he and the bar-back were very attentive, friendly and welcoming. We would have been happy with the service as this point, yet the chef came to check on us and our meal. That pushed me from four stars to five. The presentation of the desserts tray was on point as well. Opted for the tres leches (three milks) dessert, different, but a good different. If we are in the area again, we will definetly stop by. Highly recommend it for the food, the beer and the staff. read more

With our son off with the Grandparents, we had an important decision to make. Where to for lunch? My wife had the sudden brainstorm to try Paragon. She had been here when it was Blue Martini. Very good decision. Tucked away in a typical New Jersey strip mall, Paragon is a nice looking place. Kind of an industrial vibe-I like the exposed duct work. Very cool. Tina was our server. Awesome with a capitol A. Explained the specials. Took care of our drinks. Very friendly. Told us of the Chef's connection with The Food Netork. Wasn't impressed with that. Not a FN fan. Being on a TV reality show doesn't make your food taste better. Either you have talent or you don't. Chef LeVine, I'm happy to report has it going on. We split Calamari to start. Biggest rings I have ever seen. Tender too. Not bready in the slightest. Great marinara. Off to an excellent start. I went into vapor lock trying to wade through all the offered beers. An extensive list. Finally settled on Brooklyn Blast, a double IPA. Really good. Sauvignon Blanc for my wife. A tad thin but good. For entrees, I ordered the short ribs. I requested onion rings in place of the smashed potatoes. My wife ordered the special duck salad. The food was beautifully presented-see pix below. The rings were piled high on the meat reminding me of Alfred Portale's cooking at Gotham Bar and Grill in NYC. My wife's duck salad was served cold/medium rare over two types of melon. Both of us really enjoyed our meals. We could not pass on dessert. I had white/ milk choclate mousse served in a glass jar. My wife had a lime tart with raspberry whipped cream. Delicious. Since my beer was gone, I had one of Paragon's new rum drinks. Very tasty. Only service lapse was the bill was presented before we requested it. Paragon serves thoughtfully executed food. We will be back. read more

We just left our nephews 30th birthday party. The food was fantastic. All of the food was thoughtfully prepared. The service was more than friendly, almost like family . There were many of us and they were were on top of the service the entire time. No stress, no waiting all smiles . They have a great selection of their own craft beers. I can't say enough good things about this place since it opened in Sept. I have eaten here for lunch and dinner a number of times and have never had a bad meal. I'll get to the beers in a moment. You can't go wrong with any of the burgers they serve here. The Bacon Eater is amazing! Though I didn't get Blue Cheese on it and I am NOT a mayo person it was still out of sight. The meatloaf is some of the best I have ever had and the chicken dishes I have tried are excellent. If you fancy wings they do not disappoint either. Spicy or mild they are fantastic. The buffalo chicken bacon dip is a meal into itself to start. But, I will say the food is so good I would recommend an appetizer unless you are really hungry. The main course is usually filling enough. Did I mention the deserts are all homemade? Leave some some room if you want to have that extra sweet something. As to the beers, I've been to places with lots of beers on Tap. Paragon does a great job of rotating the beers out weekly. With different brews from different parts of the US and in Europe. You can always sample something before you try it and the bartenders know their brews to pair the right beer with your dinner. I love that this place is located minutes from me and you can't go wrong with a great meal and brew at a very reasonable price. Last time I was their for dinner with friends, Chef Eric Levine came to our table twice to ask us how the meal was. You don't see many places doing that if at all anymore. If you are going to dinner on the weekend better make a reservation at least a day before. The place fills up fast unless you like eating at 10pm. read more

Loved Paragon! I had to stay overnight in the area and was so happy to find such a great spot! The menu was creative but broad enough to satisfy any taste. They bring you out delicious homemade chips with an equally yummy dip. We started with the butternut squash as an appetizer which would be perfect as main if someone was seeking a vegetarian dish. It tasted like everything Fall stuffed into a squash-even with some delicious cranberries. I had the turkey burger which was also great and had the perfect kick to it! It came with a nice portion of fries which also tasted freshly cut and fried. Nom! read more

So... my wife and I aren't big beer drinkers, so we can't speak to the selection here. However, the food... oh the food. Big mistake we made was ordering an appetizer (buffalo chicken dip). That's not to say that it wasn't awesome, because it was. However, it broke my heart to leave any portion, no matter how small, of my hangover burger on the plate. It was so good... so good. Egg, sausage, hash brown, burger... oh my. My wife got the bloody butcher burger, which was also pretty great. The service was terrific too, and it wasn't crazy crowded (probably normal for a week night. Go... have a burger, and toss the diet to the wind! read more
