Best cinnamon roll I've ever had!! Well worth the wait. So buttery and delicious. They put the perfect amount of the glaze on it and I love that it is cream cheese glaze. Makes it so much more creamier!! We came on a Thursday around 10:15am and only waited 40 minutes. Line moved quickly. Well worth coming when you're visiting Maui. Service was great too!

I got in line at 620am. Papis opened at 7 and I got my cinnamon roll just after 8. And boy was it worth the wait. The barista came through the line taking orders for coffee and she was a breath of fresh air, she was so friendly and sweet. I got 1 roll and a ham and cheese croissant. Both were absolutely delicious. This is a must stop when visiting Maui

Was excited to try this place after seeing on social media while planning a trip for our 10th anniversary and it didn't disappoint. We had a friend go 2 weeks ago who recommended we get there early around 6ish and that was some amazing advice. Got there an around 6:30am, later than we had initially planned but it worked out. Ended up waiting about an hour and walked out 2 huge cinnamon rolls, a ham and cheese croissant, and dozen cookies. The cinnamon rolls didn't disappoint. So light and fluffy. FREAKING HUGE! Between the two of us, we couldn't even finish 1. Which ended up being nice because they still warm up in the micro pretty well. The ham and cheese croissant was a pleasant surprise. Ended up being really good. My wife isn't usually a ham person, but she said it was like hand carved ham you'd have at Christmas. Cookies were okay. I usually prefer a fluffier soft cookie. Usually when we visit Hawaii and I want cookies , we usually are on Oahu and my go to there is Cookie Corner. Service was great. While waiting, they'll come out and take coffee orders. Only thing was their espresso machine was down that day but was still able to get iced coffee. And once they open, they keep it pretty efficient to keep the line moving. Overall, having to wait for an hour for the croissant and cinnamon rolls was worth it. Probably wouldn't do the cookies again. I've seen some other reviews saying they had to wait 2-3 hours, which is pushing it. I dunno if I'd be willing to do that. But if you can, wake up early, and plan to be there an hour before they open.

We were headed to the beach when my cousin decided to make a pit stop at this cinnamon roll place. We got there on a Monday just after 11:00 a.m. and walked right in! There were two people in line ahead of us. My cousin was surprised because she had seen videos of the long lines of people waiting in line for them to open in the morning. We didn't even taste the cinnamon roll until we got back after a long day at the beach. OH MY GOD!! The hype is real! This was, BY FAR, the BEST cinnamon roll I've ever eaten. No other cinnamon roll even comes close! Make sure you stop here if you are visiting Maui!! You won't be sorry.

Papi Ohana was absolutely worth the early morning adventure! I drove about 45 minutes on a Thursday morning, arrived around 6:30 a.m., and waited close to two hours to get their famous cinnamon rolls. The wait might sound long, but the experience made it worthwhile. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They genuinely appreciated when customers took photos and videos and were so much fun to interact with--they really embrace social media and make everyone feel at home. The cinnamon rolls were huge, priced at $12 each, and served warm. They were perfectly moist, soft, and not overly sweet, which made them even better. If you're visiting Maui and don't mind getting up early for one of the island's most popular treats, I highly recommend adding Papi Ohana to your list. It's a memorable experience with delicious cinnamon rolls that live up to the hype. But definitely go early since they sell out everyday!

Absolutely loved Papi's Ohana! The cinnamon roll was incredible -- huge, soft, gooey, perfectly sweet, and covered in delicious icing. Definitely one of those treats that's worth going out of your way for while you're in Maui. What made the experience even better was the owner, Linda. She was so sweet, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. You can tell she really cares about her customers and takes pride in what she does. Great food, great people, and exactly the kind of local place we love finding when we travel. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Maui!

Absolutely delicious cinnamon rolls and scones. They feed several people. We shared ours with the neighbors vacationing near us. Meg Loved it and so did we.

Very almost, laminated dough and uber buttery-- but the two hour wait PLUS lack of proper cinnamon ratio to dough-- hm. Love the NON DENSE DOUGH-- it's the same dough as my fave viennoiserie: pain aux raisins!!! As a believer, megapoints for Phil 1:3 verse on pizza box, and I am truly encouraged by the verses that I can claim as promises from God... Tis the reason I came, after all. My first Uber driver also a believer from El Salvador. It's a slog in line; given that I arrived 6:45, I would say come at 5:35, and your wait won't exist. Wear sunscreen and order iced coffee! PS aha--- he did train under a French baker! The dough IS laminated; my tongue didn't lie. PPS I respect the Sox off David and wife: this ministry l can very much appreciate. Why can't I retire now and just join their ministry and church... pinings...

Amazing! My visit was back in 2024, and I absolutely love how much this business is still striving I can't believe I forgot to post about our visit. Huge line around 6:30am but worth the wait. Since it was our last morning in Maui I didn't buy too much but had regrets not to bring extra home to share with the kids. Cinnamon roll was delicious and we ordered another pastry just to try something savory and I loved it just as much as the cinnamon roll. It was quick service type establishment but I enjoy watching how much passion and love they have for the community supporting their business.

Is it good? Yes. Is it "stand-in-line-forever" good? Not for me. I'm just past the stage of chasing hype, but based on the crowds wrapping around the corner, I'm clearly in the minority. The cinnamon rolls, though, are the real deal: soft, gooey, draped in glaze and yet somehow isn't overyly sweet, and when they're warm they just melt in your mouth. They're basically a hug in pastry form and go perfectly with a hot cup of coffee. We also tried the scones, croissants, and cookies, and they were all very tasty--but let's be honest, you're really here for the cinnamon rolls, and they know it.

I really wanted to like it, but it just wasn't for me. Waited 3.5 hours on a Tuesday morning (from 6:30am-10am, their croissants were sold out so we bought 4 of the cinnamon rolls & a box of cookies. The cookies are delicious, I love that they put pistachios in it & it's not overly sweet, they were my favorite. The cinnamon rolls unfortunately fell short for me. There was something about them that just didn't "wow" me enough to be believing the hype. However, I'm still glad that I tried it. & to each their own.

If you don't feel like reading my whole review, here's the short version... the hype is real and worth the trip! My wife's sister, who just moved away from Hawaii told us about this place. She told us we had to come here. She made sure to mention to carve out a couple hours of the day, because we'll be waiting in line. As you can see pictures from other people's reviews, that's definitely the case. We took an Uber over there, and as soon as we got in the car and the driver mentioned the address he said, are y'all ready to wait?!?! I think we got there around 10 AM and the line was already long! We knew we would have to be very patient this day. Luckily it wasn't super hot outside so that helped with the waiting process. They did have someone come around and offer coffee and water to purchase while we waited in line. I thought that was pretty smart under the circumstances that everyone has to deal with while waiting here. After probably a 2 hour wait... we finally got in! They have other options of things to eat. Scones, croissants and things like that. We were there for the star player... the cinnamon roll! These things are huge! My wife and I said since we waited so long, we might as well get two and enjoy one of them for later. I never envisioned myself waiting two hours for a cinnamon roll, or any other type of treats, but this was well worth it. We wanted to have one while it was fresh out the oven, so we found a bench to sit at around a bus stop. It was so soft, pretty much melted in your mouth. The icing was tasty. It was so fresh, it's the best cinnamon roll I've ever had in my life. I'm sure spending two hours of your time being in Maui you don't want to sit in line waiting on something like a cinnamon roll, trust me I felt the same way. After doing this, I WILL do it again the next time I'm there! Next time, I would be there first thing in the morning and waiting in line before they open up, that way I'll have time for other activities around the island that I have planned for the day. The wait is worth it, and I highly suggest this place!

Yes! If only you could smell this!
Stacey G.

Thanks to a fellow Yelper, I learned the trick of going later in the morning. I hardly waited five minutes. And I know some people show up long before they open and wait in line for hours. It does look fun to be part of the community waiting together and being on their daily Facebook video. But... I was good with the short wait. And....what a de-licious cinnamon roll. I only got one to share between three of us. I had to stop myself from eating more than my share! Lovely friendly service too! I'm a fan!

It's vanilla ice cream (though I changed mine to banana ice cream so I could go totally overboard) covered in fresh bananas, brandy and banana liqueur, and two pieces of banana bread stuffed into each side of the cup. Indescribably delicious! Some places would make the banana bread an afterthought in a dessert like this, thinking that the rest of the dish would be so good that the banana bread could be just anything halfway decent. Not so here. The banana bread in this dessert was some of the best we had on the island during our entire two-week stay! I can't comment on the rest of the menu, since we didn't try anything else, but people seem to rave about other items here, too. The make-your-own shave ice at the Ultimate Shave Ice station seems to be a unique take on a Hawaii staple, and it's up to you whether you prefer an expert to be making yours rather than guessing at how to make it yourself, but if you want to be the boss, well, here you go! And it's definitely a hit with kids, as you might imagine. And their pineapple cream claims to be a much better and natural version of Dole Whip, so it's probably worth a try! Located in a modern strip mall, service here is friendly, and you may need to wait in line for a little while, depending on when you come. Not a ton of seating inside or out, but we did score a table outside and enjoyed our dessert in the beautiful Maui weather. The prices are about what you'd expect, no more and no less, and worth every penny! So do not pass up this dessert spot when you come to this part of the island. In my opinion, you won't regret stopping in!

We ended up getting 3 different flavors. I got the one sugar free dairy free option that they had which I think was a raspberry sorbet and it was delicious!!! I usually dislike sorbet, but this one was not too sweet and perfectly refreshing on a hot day. It was full of raspberry seeds and felt like it actually was mostly made up of fruit. My daughter was indecisive and tried several flavors, and the employee was more than happy to offer additional samples.

If you came to West Maui, and didn't go chocolate tasting at Ku'ia, did you really visit Maui?…read more I mean, I had an amazing time on my vacation in Ka'anapali - but this was the absolute foodie highlight, better than any restaurant and a lot more reasonable! We skipped the pricey farm tour (we did coffee farm tours last year and are farmed out) and went straight to the chocolate café. They will give you a five piece tasting for free, either a dark, milk, or sugar-free flight. But why would you come here and just take... When you can also give back to folks in Lahaina rebuilding? So we got two free flights, one milk and one dark. My sweetie added on a drink, a pastry, and some very tasty chocolate and salted caramel gelato. I went with a make your own alcohol pairing, which was so much fun and very reasonable. For about $17, I got a shot of coconut rum with two chocolate pairings and a shot of premium Martiniquan JM volcanic rhum Agricole with another two chocolate pairings. And then I still had my free five pieces. What an amazing taste adventure, for cheaper than the price of a cocktail at a hotel bar or even a locally owned foodie place? I don't want to mess up your tasting - so you pick your favorites! But I normally don't like rhum agricole - and the pairings were such an amazing flavor adventure. Honestly, this is my number one recommendation in West Maui. Give the folks some business and have an amazing time! Oh, and they have jazz on Sunday nights' but I'm sure it's more crowded than than popping in during the day on a weekday. And also: the second floor tasting room has panoramic views of the ocean and around Lahaina. Check them out!

We left disappointed by the unfriendly service, very small portions, and a bill that felt wildly out of proportion to what we received. Our experience The setting is attractive and the renovation is a real improvement. However, the service lacked the warm, welcoming aloha spirit we hoped for, especially at a restaurant that markets itself as a Maui favorite. The pricing was the biggest issue: - $17.50 for an appetizer of only five wings. - $35.50 for a kalbi plate that amounted to roughly 2 1/2 ribs, chopped into seven or eight small pieces. - $19 for a small serving of mochiko chicken bites. - The kids' sliders were just two tiny burgers on Hawaiian sweet rolls. For two entrées, one appetizer, and two non-alcoholic drinks, our total came to more than $110. That is difficult to justify when both the portion sizes and overall service fell short. Bottom line We understand that Maui is expensive and that restaurants face high operating costs. Still, charging premium prices should come with generous portions, consistently good food, and genuinely hospitable service. Aloha Mixed Plate may have a beautiful new space, but at these prices, it feels overhyped and not like a good value. We hope they reconsider the portion sizes and customer experience, because the lack of aloha and the high prices could easily turn visitors away rather than make them want to return.
