We stayed at the Royal Lahaina Resort and Bungalows and were craving some ice cream to beat the heat. Hence visited the Royal scoop. Gosh, the service was terrible. One of the worst experiences I've faced till date. The lady had no interest in helping us with the tasting nor to help us buy. She seemed so disinterested but treated another customer absolutely differently despite the other person coming in later. When we asked for an extra spoon, she cribbed about not having enough spoons. Sorry, as an ice cream parlor, you should have enough spoons to cater to your customer. She almost grumbled and provided us with the extra spoons. Was definitely not a pleasant experience! read more

Don't even think about getting a cappuccino here. First of all, all their coffee drinks come out of a coffee dispensing machine. Secondly, they are outrageously expensive. I took mine back when it became clear there was very little coffee, (much less Espresso), in my drink. The gal behind the counter showed me what came out of the machine for a cappuccino - before the milk. It was the lightest, wateriest espresso I've ever seen. Don't bother. read more

The perfect treat during a hot Hawaiian day at the beach. After spending time on airport beach, we walked along the boardwalk to get some ice cream at The Royal Scoop. The ice cream shop is located on the Royal Lahaina property to the right of the lobby entrance. You can enter it from the parking lot or from the resort side. When we got there on a Friday afternoon there was a short line. One lady working the counter and she was efficient. From there we were able to grab our scoops and go. I got the coffee chocolate flavor and that's always a can't-go-wrong flavor for me. They also serve breakfast items and assorted pastries and snacks. read more

We stayed here and stopped by to grab some drinks on 10/18/25 around 3:45 PM. My mother-in-law and I were looking at the menu and decided to order one blended Kona mocha and one iced mocha. The staff member working at the time, Sandra, stood about 10 feet away and didn't offer any assistance. When we finally said we'd like a blended Kona mocha, Sandra immediately walked away to make it before we could even place the second order. After receiving the first drink, Sandra simply said, "What else?" We then ordered the iced mocha. While Sandra was making it, I noticed one of the espresso shots dripping down the side of the mug instead of into the drink. I asked Sandra if the drink was supposed to have two shots, and she confirmed it was. I politely mentioned that one of the shots seemed to have spilled out. Sandra didn't respond--just remade the drink and almost slammed it onto the counter, saying "SAME." We were honestly so shocked by the level of Sandra's behavior. It was one of the worst experiences we've ever had and this is not some gas station cash counter. We don't know if Sandra was having a bad day, but the way she was shockingly rude. I'm not writing this to harm the business. If I were the owner, I would absolutely want to know about this kind of staff's behavior because it hurts the business overall. I truly hope this feedback helps improve things. I would be more than happy to remove this review if the issue is addressed. read more

This is an ice cream, coffee and pasty shop in the outdoor portion of The Royal Lahaina Hotel. It is to the right of the lobby when facing the valet stand. As it is the only ice cream place in a large hotel grounds, it pretty much as a captive audience. There are other large hotel grounds up and down the Lahaina coast. The closest frozen dessert offering is the hotel ground to the south, a shaved ice shop tied to the hotel next to Black Rock. We had 6 grandkids eating out of this ice cream shop on a nearly daily basis. Staff was friendly. Ice cream was decent. Flavors are a bit run of the mill and only 10-12 total. I had wished for a few more flavors to choose from - e.g. candy cane for Christmas, Ube for a bit more local flare. Place serves coffee and breakfast pasties. Nothing to complain about. Nothing spectacular to write home about either. read more

I tried the Masubi spam for the first time, I didn't like it much but my wife loved it. Now interestingly enough my wife is not a spam lover and I am. I think what I didn't love is the seaweed taste. Never been a fan. Not I'm just sure what the dish is suppose to taste like so I'm assuming that's the norm as far as taste goes. The Royal scoop still remains a five in my book. read more

I am not reviewing the ice cream, which is Roselani's and you can buy cheaper at the grocery store. This is for the coffee (cough, bath water) and baked goods. The banana bread was ok, but $9 and it was not much bigger than a muffin. I wanted to try the ham and cheese croissant but couldn't bring myself to spend $8 on one, so went for the $5 chocolate croissant. Was ok. Nothing spectacular. The lattes however were horrible. Possibly the worst on Maui, and with a few exceptions, Maui has awful coffee. My husband had the decaf version and his was stronger and better than mine. Do yourself a favor and drive to Vigilatte in Lahaina instead. Or even just a few minutes up the road to Island Press. So disappointing. read more

Been going here each morning for coffee and at night for ice cream. There is a great selection here for snacks. The croissants are excellent, the coffee is amazing, and their lattes are great. There is no oatmilk so keep that in mind. The employees here are attentive and happy, unlike some of the other employees on the Royal Lahaina property. The prices are also reasonable. I am so happy that the Royal scoop is finally open again. It was closed thru most of Covid. I noticed it finally reopened about 2 weeks ago. In time for the spring break crowds. I love to pop in for the island salad for my flight back to the mainland. Something nice and light. Love the pineapple and macadamia nuts. The dressing is great too. The ice cream store is located in the lobby of a hotel resort. When you look up a dessert location in the west part of Maui it's not clear that it's within a resort. When we drove up to the hotel it was really hard to find parking for guests who are just there to use their services. We drive around for a bit and realized it would be easier if the hubby double parked and I hopped out to pick up the desert. The service was fast and efficient. The young lady that worked at the front desk was very friendly. The ice cream was absolutely delicious! Definitely hit the chocolate ice cream craving I had since I woke up. They have fun ice cream flavors- banana macadamia, coconut, chocolate macadamia, pineapple, etc. and your original- chocolate, vanilla, rocky road. We sampled a bunch and got the haupia (GET THE HAUPIA). It's a coconut milk based ice cream... so super creamy and worth the money and calories. This place is also a good spot for the post-pool "the sun makes me sleepy but now I have a dinner" afternoon pick me up. $3.50 for an iced coffee- not bad when you need something to get yourself going again- plus, a short walk from the main hotel building. read more

Came here while staying at the Royal Laheina in Maui. Wanted to grab a quick breakfast. Ordered the egg white panini, a chai tea latte with almond milk, and a guava and cheese pastry. The service was fast and staff were friendly. The panini was good, it had egg whites and provolone cheese they heat it up for you. The chai latte was made with powder mix and almond milk. A little too sweet for my liking but it was still good. The guava and cheese pastry was amazing! It tasted just like the guava cheese puffs I used to love and only get back home in NJ. Flaky pastry and chunks of cream cheese and guava! They also serve ice cream and other grab and go items. Prices were decent for being in a resort on Maui. They have a large coffee & pastry combo deal with a few flavors of muffins and scones to choose from. Later we stopped again for ice cream; the ube flavor is a must try! Delicious! Be aware, they have kinda funky hours. Currently open 6am-1pm, so don't plan to come for a late night ice cream treat. read more

I got a mint chocolate chip ice cream for my husband.. I'm not a big fan if mint chocolate ice cream but i tried a little bit, it was very creamy and rich. Should have gotten something. If ice cream isn't your thing, they also have coffee and pastries. I ended up getting a scoop of the cookies 'n cream in a cup. It was good, but definitely pricey at almost $5 for a single scoop with no cone. I don't mind those prices for an on-site creamery, but even for local ice cream like this, it's a bit steep. I do like the generous hours for the shop. Even during the holidays, they were open until 8 PM. It looked like many of the families vacationing there were similarly happy about that, since most of the other local places closed for the whole day or very early on New Year's Eve/Day. read more

Cute place and quite convenient if you're at the Royal Lahaina! My aunt and cousin both commented how amazing tasting their coffee was which struck me as a good thing. I just grabbed a doubble scoop of the Cookies and Cream ice cream and it's quite good! I am taking off a star because it was quite melted already when handed to me along with it being a bit pricey in my opinion for what it is. It seems that they may not keep the freezer cold enough, so instead of eating it right away it's currently sitting in my room's freezer. Meh. Have only been here twice - for an acai bowl both times. Their acai bowl was a 3.5/5 - it tasted great but it was too heavy on the granola and too light on the acai for me. If I remember correctly, it's also close to $12 which is kind of crazy for the size you get. However, the location couldn't be more convenient if you are staying at the Royal Lahaina. Would come back here if I needed another quick and light breakfast but definitely not the best acai bowl I have ever had in Hawaii. read more
