This was our first visit while in town, and we had the absolute pleasure of being served by Will. He was nothing short of phenomenal, incredibly attentive, genuinely friendly, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu. He took the time to walk us through our options, answer all our questions with patience, and even offer honest recommendations. On his suggestion, I tried the Cartel Roll, my first time having wahoo in sushi, and it was outstanding! My family ordered the Blackened Shrimp Po' Boy, Shrimp Fried Rice, and the Triple Tail Fried Rice (which came with a full filet!) -- every single dish was a hit. Will is easily one of the best servers we've ever had, and his attentiveness and warmth truly made our experience memorable. Fresh and local, need I say more? Papas Raw Bar is located in a small shopping center with plenty of parking. The market is located in the front, and the restaurant is tucked in the corner. You have your choice from the plentiful outdoor or indoor seating, bar seating is available at both. We were sat promptly, as is the case when you aren't there at "rush" hour! Otherwise, you may have quite the wait. This hidden gem, isn't so hidden ;). We always start with a dozen oysters, which are now only on special Thursday's. They are always fresh and delicious, especially with the Local Motive hot sauce. My biggest complaint, and honestly something I hope changes!!!, is the oysters almost always have shells in them! I always hope this time will be different, but without a doubt it's happened every time... The Bangin' Shrimp Po Boy is next level!! Normally we've gotten it fried, but to watch the waistline we opted for grilled. Delicious!! And the sauces are what makes it. The Poke Bowl is a staple as well, I added rice to give it some extra substance. But no lack of protein with three types of fish, and sliced mango for a sweet surprise!! This is my family's FAVORITE restaurant. My parents seriously come here every weekend and sit at the cool outdoor bar to listen to music. Their sushi is phenomenal -- get the Tod Roy roll!!! Sadly (not really) the sushi is so good I haven't really tried much else, except for a bite of my Dad's fish sandwich which literally melted in my mouth (SO GOOD). You can really tell how fresh the seafood is. Prices are steep but totally worth it. The wait staff here is always so friendly and we love coming on Sunday nights to listen to the live music outside. Bar area inside is also lots of fun. This is really one of my favorite places. This is a cool chill spot, with some flare and really good food. We normally get old fashions here and they never disappoint. We've had their sushi, stone crab claws, sandwiches and most of their apps here and have always left happy and well fed. There was a point where we were coming almost every weekend. This is definitely a place that you can bring both your family and friends to. Sit at the bar or table and get the same great service. Join there rewards program to get points and earn $50 off. I was in the mood for some sushi last night and my wife wanted to go here since were moving an hour north. She said I had to try it because she'd been here a long time ago and knows that it's a south Florida staple. Honestly, neither one of us were impressed. I didn't realize the roll I ordered had spicy Mayo all over it, which apparently is "bomb sauces". I felt bad and didn't want to send it back but I wish I would have known. I guess I should have read the menu a little more because I guess all of the "local inspired rolls" come that way. Overall, wasn't impressed with the food, rolls or beer selection. It was pretty much just IPAs with a few lagers to choose from. Probably wouldn't recommend considering the price for the quality. read more

Parking was easy, there's a big lot right in front. Plenty of outdoor picnic benches and the vibe is super casual, Key Westy with great service. $1.50 oysters and great $8 Bloody Marys. Oysters were fresh and nice size. Chowders were great. It was a meaty conch chowder in a tomato base served in a mug. Clam Chowder was New England style with plenty of meat also served in a mug. Fish tacos came 3 to an order and the fresh catch Mahi was blackened to perfection and served with slaw. The Po'Boy was to die for! Fresh Snapper blackened and we ordered it Matts Way which has lettuce, avocado and bacon..OMG... this was mouth-watering good! I've been coming here for years now, and it's definitely one of my favorite spots in town! I've always lived in Pompano so I've been around since way before they owned the Papamigos location. The menu has changed a bit since the merge, but the change was definitely for the better! They now have the best fish tacos ever and the best Margaritas! I came with my friend for lunch and we had the Panko wahoo bites, and we each had a hibiscus margarita. Then we ordered a firecracker roll and it was just perfect! We shared the fresh catch tacos which were Mahi today, and it was literally the freshest fish I've had in a really long time. Every time I come here all the waiters and waitresses are super nice and welcoming. Today, our margaritas were extra good but also it's because my friend ordered it with Casamigos tequila, which you could also do for an extra charge. (worth it!) There is also live music at night in the weekends, sometimes inside and sometimes outside! I always resort to getting the fried rice, swordfish bites, and sushi rolls. The fried rice is not like your typical fried rice, it's more of a paella style. They do not use soy sauce in it, making it gluten free. Oh! And they do have gluten free soy sauce upon request for your sushi. The swordfish bites and sushi are extremely fresh tasting so you can never go wrong with ordering those. The service goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The employees feel very organized and on top of everything. When you visit, there is limited parking so make sure to factor in some wait time. The atmosphere is casual Florida vibes. This was a great find for me! It is a small raw bar and restaurant with outdoor seating tucked into the corner of a strip center. There is also a fish market attached to the location. We stopped for lunch and first thing tried the soup! It was a meaty delish conch chowder in a tomato base served in a mug. Loved it! We ordered the fried conch bites and a salmon & cream cheese sushi roll - (it had another name but i don't recall) both were great! The atmosphere was fun and the staff were fast and friendly. They had a sushi bar and a large selection of beers on tap. The sushi chefs and the bartenders were quite busy mixing drinks and rolling sushi! Parking was easy. They have sports tv screens, music and entertainment. Reggae was listed on one of their flyers which seems to be their theme. My new favorite seafood place. They have basically seafood and sushi, can't comment on sushi as I've not had it but their seafood is amazing. My favorite is their grilled oysters with cheese. Everyone has raw oysters but I'm not a fan of raw oysters. Grilled however are one of my favorite things and they do them right! Tacos are awesome, their ceviche is fantastic (make sure to get the fried wontons with it) rock shrimp sooo good! This restaurant is such a vibe! I love seafood and Papa's Raw Bar has some of the freshest seafood in Broward county. Everything on the menu is delicious. I love their stone crabs, rock shrimp, tacos and sushi rolls. The staff is young and friendly. I ate at the outside bar while jamming to 70s and 80s hits. Off the bat walking into the host stand was so friendly and welcoming. The food and drink was absolutely amazing! We went for happy hour and got half off oysters and 5$ off cocktails!! The oysters were so fresh and perfect and the martinis were stiff but perfectly balanced. Our server Kenz was so amazing, sweet, and helpful navigating the menu.
