OMG !!!!!! WHAT ?!!!!! I have never been to this gem!!!! It was so eclectic and the food was like in a super high end restaurant!!!!! The grouper in a lemon white wine sauce was like being in a high end restaurant!!!! Unbelievable!!! Beautiful fun atmosphere, amazing service! Side salad was very generous, and I loved the ginger dressing that our amazing server suggested! This restaurant is an 11 on 10!!! I'm really happy read more

Packed, mid service, mid food, and kinda pricey for the service and location. I ordered the lobster bites and they were -okay- The fries were not very good, they tasted a little stale. I was welcomed by the hostess but the person who was bringing out our food wasn't very responsive and attentive I felt. When speaking to him, he kinda disregarded me but I attribute that to them being packed. I actually had to park elsewhere to even swing by. I won't return. For a beer and 2 appetizers I paid a little over $50. read more

What an amazing place! Everything I mean everything is delicious and prepared with care. The blackened fish has a subtle but tasty seasoning and the fish is moist and cooked perfectly every time. How do they do it. Clam chowder the best, but filling so watch out. The staff is super nice and happy. Alot of people eat outside but you should try the inside "key west" room. Everyone I bring here loves this place!!! read more

Grew up in a seaside city, so seafood was primary meals, but since visited and ate at Papas's I discovered the true joy of seafood experience read more

Another great visit. Daron was our server and he was absolutely wonderful!! He recommended 2 IPAs that my bf enjoyed, he also recommended the mother nature vegetarian rolls that are not on the menu but were really good. This place is dog friendly and had live music tonight. Outdoor seating is covered, though no heaters. Wednesday is ladies night where wines are half off. We also had a birthday dessert of the baked brownie and it was delicious. Thank you papa's, and Daron especially, for the wonderful celebration dinner!! read more

Good food , good service the waiter was informed the food was timely. I would definitely come back.

I love this place! Service is great (thanks Jamie)!! Had the fresh Snapper Franchise, which keeps me coming back. Sunday Funday band in the evening is great too. Love the music, ambience and food! read more

This spot was recommended by our homeowner. We had our minds set on pizza but after failed attempts to find a gluten free option, we walked to Papas. Service was great and the food was phenomenal! I'm always a sucker for fresh fish. I only wish they had GF taco shells! They had a live band which was nice since this has been hard to find with covid. I definitely recommend checking them out if you are in the area. read more

Love this place! Definitely coming back! We came with my husband and I and another couple. The purpose was to enjoy seafood and yes we did it! Clam chowder is the best mix it with the conk chowder, I'm getting that again. Fish dip, sushi are really freshly made. Fresh whole snapper is my go to here! And a bunch more. The menu was great! This was like coming to a new restaurant on this visit. We'd actually tried to go to seafood world next door -- it's now called Papas Fish House. But they are no longer serving food -- just acting as a market. They told us the two restaurants (it's the same owner) had combined and some of their items we're now on the menu here. There's a big tented area outside in the parking lot between the two places. You can sit here if you wish. We chose to sit inside and they put us in the quieter back room. They were running a Happy hour special on oysters! At a dollar each oyster, we each got half a dozen: mine were baked; his raw on the half shell. They were good. It took a while for our main meals to come out so that was also a good idea to have an appetizer. I ordered a whole steamed lobster (which they got from the market). It wasn't badly priced (but make sure you get the total price if that's important -- they add a fee for cooking it!). It was good. I just wish they hadn't served it with the tail and claws separated as it didn't look like everything matched together. My husband had a sushi roll with shrimp tempura and avocado and seared scallops. He said it was very good! We had decent service and the casual atmosphere was just fine for an early seafood dinner. Glad they are back stronger than ever. (And without the blaring music that they had the last time we were here!) PS. They also honored the yelp check in discount! read more

papa's raw bar does everything perfectly! from the service to the food it's always a 10 out of 10 experience.

The food and vibe were all amazing! Service was great, as well. Though our drinks (all waters) were not watched to be refilled. Other than that, everything was great! I got the Lobster Bomb roll and we also had the oysters. Everything was fresh and super delicious! read more

The raw oysters were amazing and the grilled oysters were to die for! I loved this place. I can't wait to go back! My entree was Liquini and Clams in a white sauce. Better than my own! Definitely has the Key West vibe. I have to give a shoutout to Connor for his attentiveness and his recommendations. Next time I want to try the black and blue oysters read more

I had the couch chowder$9. It was delicious. I tried the tacos, steak.$18. It was not fresh meat. Very disappointed . I tried the clam chowder. It was equally good. I tried the island slaw.$5. It was way too spicy for me. I sent it back. They were pretty nice about it. I would not recommend this place, except for the soups. The water smelled like bug spray. The waiter seemed very busy with something else. Not very attentive. The tip calculated on the computer adds an extra dollar. read more

I had been here one time before with a party and ordered a vegan sushi roll and don't remember it being terrible. I stopped in the market one other time for some fish and remember not getting anything because I didn't like the looks of what was available. Our server last night was brand new and didn't know much about the menu at al but we wanted to come for happy hour, which is until 6 but apparently exited to 7pm so she honored it. We only ended up ordering one thing during happy hour, well two actually, if you count the oysters that we sent back. It didn't sound like $12 for 1/2 dozen was a happy hour deal anyways but when they came out, we were like, "nope". I ended up going with a classic Wahoo roll and when it came out it just looked so sad. Ended up putting a lot of hot sauce on it for flavor and calling it a day. Overall, for the prices of the seafood and the quality of the food, I wouldn't be back. Not to mention, our server wasn't all that great either. It definitely was not an experience to write home about. read more

I was really looking forward to this meal. My brother lives here and I visit him quite often. he has talked this place up quite often to me. We have both been eating sushi for over 30 years. We ordered a sushi appetizer, and there was a very large bone in the salmon that cut into my cheek. We were offered for that to come off the bill and to have a dessert if we wanted. Neither one of us are dessert eaters, so we had our drinks and ordered the swordfish fried rice. That was actually the swordfish bites on top of rice with no vegetables, but we ate it. Our bill was $117 and there was nothing taken off except for the sushi with the bone in it. Neither of us will recommend anyone to go there, and neither of us will go there again. Having worked in the restaurant industry for quite a long time, I know I would have taken not only the sushi off, but also the drinks; at least. Even though it was a Monday, and that probably means a different chef, it does not mean less quality foo read more

Haven't been here in a while used to come when it was Seafood world - but decided to come with my friend and have dinner. Part of the restaurant was having some remodeling but they were open but on a limited menu . We ordered the wahoo and the snapper and decided it was very off and not great while we were eating it but we never thought it would make us sick Within an hour of leaving I was sick as a dog and up all night - and my poor friend who was driving more than 2 hours to get home just made it before getting just as sick . Didn't go to the hospital but thought about it . Just BEWARE of this place - !! Bad fish is a very dangerous thing !! Very disappointing !! Wouldn't even give it a Star read more

Laid back atmosphere, quality seafood, and wallet friendly! Who doesn't like $1.50 off happy hour oysters!? Or $2 off happy hour sushi rolls (not entire selection) but still... not common around town. Steve, our server for this afternoon delight, was very helpful for our first-time visit and very attentive though being split between outside service and our table inside. Didn't have any adult beverages, so no comments there, but my girlfriend's diet coke had plenty of fizz (also not common around town, lol) only downside is the calamari wasn't what I'd expected and didn't really care for their rendition, although very tender, it was only rings and no tentacles (which I love) and served with sweet chili sauce. I prefer mariana. Lesson learned. Everyone has different tastes. Will be back, soon! read more

I started a customer of Papa's raw bar for a long time. The food is prepared with excellence the service is excellent and the fresh market has the best fish I have ever been able to buy. Would recommend papa's raw bar anytime. read more

My wife and I stopped in to check out the Happy Hour specials and WOW did Papa's exceed all expectations. Started with a dozen oysters - fresh, briny, sweet - and the smoked fish dip served with crisp raw veggies and seeded flat bread was excellent. Our intention was to stay with appetizers and make it a dinner...until we saw the whole fried fish served across the room. Today's catch was snapper. It looked too good to pass up. Lightly seasoned fish, fried but absolutely not greasy, served with a trio of sauces was spectacular. Really. The fish is scored on the outside so you can easily pick the tasty bits off the bones. Next time I consider buying a whole fish for grilling my wife is going to insist we go over to Papa's instead. Big shout out to Victor, our waiter, who truly understands the meaning of service excellence. read more

Cute little spot. The staff was super friendly. I was amazed at the speed things were coming out if the kitchen. I had blackened shrimp tacos gringo style. It had a LOT of queso (thats not a complaint btw). It was delicious and fortunately the blackened seasoning kept the shrimp from being lost in the queso. I ordered the key lime pie for dessert. My server Stephen said that it was more like cheesecake. I like cheesecake so I gave it a go. It was definitely more cheesecakey, but the lime was very subtle. read more

In short: get everything... it's all good! My go to spot after work or literally anytime I am out east. I have YET to have a bad meal here! From the best sushi to hibachi , you can't go wrong. I've been here for taco Tuesday, hibachi night, and anytime I can find an excuse and if it wasn't for the big portions I would wipe my plate clean. I love that it's locally owned and this is one of the reasons I will continue to frequent this establishment. Only pitfall is the lack of parking in this plaza but that definitely doesn't deter me. Great food and service, wife and I split everything so keep in mind 2 were eating this, first had Clam Chowder, was in. Coffee cup but was very good, next was the swordfish bites, if you go there you have to try these, so good. Last was the Snapper as fish of day, they actually give you the choice of three. Had it blackened, taste was excellent just a little over done but still very good. Limited menu as we're doing some remodeling but will definitely go bake read more

Family friendly seafood spot in Lighthouse Point, near Deerfield. Its a low-key place. Jeans and tshirt work hete. Key West vibe. prices are on par with Red Lobster or higher. No sales here lol. Big wine, cocktail, liquor menu too. Don't drink so didn't try it, but lots of tables had bottles of wine! Seafood is pricey but its my second visit, excellent quality. Companion has patronized it for over 10 years. There is a seafood store too attached. No reservations I don't think. Walk up to outside desk, get seated. We sit inside. Last few visits have been too cold. Staff is attentive, friendly. Zero issues. We had the big stone crab claws last time...omg $$$. sweet, fresh. Amazing. Diversity Note: Last two visits, I was the only black patron however there are black staff in the kitchen and a blk guy server. I wasn't uncomfortable. Had great service with my white male companion. Lighthouse Point has not been generally diverse, like some areas of Deerfield. If you like seafood with a Caribbean twist, we like Calypso too, see it here on Yelp. Happy Eating! I'd definitely go to Papas. Bill for two is easily $70 plus tip $85. Good seafood comes at a pretty penny but we've never been disappointed yet. If we are, will update this at a later date. Thanks to my food companion, CD, for introducing me to deliciousness! There's a huge Target near here. First time I've seen a "cart escalator".
