While we were actively eating it (food literally on our chopsticks), a staff member came over and just took the plate away. Just got my two top wisdom teeth pulled and decided I'd like some wonton noodle soup. I buy the soup pick it up to get home and there is literally NO SOUP!!!!! NOT A DROP OF IT. The noodles and dumplings are completely dry. The noodles did soak up the broth because the noodles doesn't even taste like it ever had broth on them!!! Can't drive because im under pain medication. Came to get some dumplings during Ferry Building's Tuesday Farmers Market. I got the pork potstickers, scallion pancake and wontons in hot chili oil. Overall they are all good, wontons have a nice kick to them, potstickers were flavorful and the pancake was nice and crispy. I wish the scallion pancake had more scallions and both the wontons and potstickers were like warm when we ate them, wish they were hotter, but I understand that cooking at a vendor stand vs the restaurant is different. read more

Wow.. I didn't realize there was this little gem of a restaurant until I had the churros (next to Vic's) We had 4 items for the three of us -- green onion pancake - it was just ok. Fried and not flakey , not very oniony. , beef noodle soup - so tasty, delicious broth- my son loved it, black bean noodles - these were delicious / I just wish it was a bigger portion - and also 6 fried shrimp and pork dumplings. I loved that they do not use any peanut products- food safety when you have allergies is important. The staff spoke English -and I felt confident that she knew what was in the menu items. I really wanted to like this place. It's a cute mom and pop owned spot. And it is indeed yummy to a certain extent. Sadly, we wanted a pork potsticker and unfortunately they only had pork and shrimp. It wasn't bad. Just not what we wanted. My husband doesn't eat shrimp. It's not the fault of the restaurant. The service was good. And it was a very quiet. Wanted to look for a dumpling place in the area and stumbled upon this place on Yelp. We ordered the beef noodle soup, chicken potstickers, and also a bag of frozen pork/shrimp/chive dumplings Togo. The beef noodle soup was ok, i felt like it was missing some flavor because the broth was pretty light and not too many pieces of beef. The noodles had a nice texture though. The star of the show were the dumplings! The potstickers were so flavorful and had a nice outer skin that was crispy and thick. I went home and boiled the frozen dumplings which were such big pieces with lots of juicy, flavorful filling. I was very impressed by the dumplings so I would probably return when I am in the area. read more

If i could give this place 6 stars out of 5 i would but i can't so I'll settle for 5 stars. I would call myself a connoisseur of noodles and dumplings and this place by far has the BEST selection. The real reason me and my boyfriend keep coming back is truly the service. The people that began papas dumpling have to be the sweetest and most kind people ever. We met them originally at our farmers market in Walnut Creek but had to come to their store location to support their business. Truly i hope that one day the next location they open is next to us so i can save myself the commute of 30 min each way to pick up my order if you haven't tried the Pork and shrimp chive dumplings (pan seared) do yourself a favor and buy as many as you can. As for the potstickers... best I've ever had! I got the chicken and onion, and it tasted as good as my Grandma's cooking! The dough is soft and chewy and the chicken is infused with soy sauce (and some other flavors) to make the most delectable tasting pan-fried potstickers. Plus, they were much bigger than expected. But water (hot or iced with lemon) is served and refilled without having to ask. Cucumbers had a nice amount of vinegar and complement the dumplings well, highly recommend- not spicy at all. Very nice chewy noodles, tasted like hand-made. Pot sticketers. Large plump and juicy dumplings, with pork and shrimp. Steamed dumplings. Beef dumplings, large serving. Scallion pancakes. Thin and lacking in scallion taste. It's a pretty large serving. Overall, I give them a 4.5 stars (I am usually reluctant to give 5 stars). It's comparable to 88 Bao Bao in Dublin. Bao Bao does have more options on its menu. If I live in Pleasanton, I can see this becoming one of my regular rotations. They also serve rice plates for the regular weekday lunch crowd. The food was super flavorful. Somehow all the main dishes we picked were "brothy". The broth was delicious enough to drink on its own. Great tasting food! The service on the other hand was not up to par. It could be because there was only one lady up front who was juggling manning the counter, seating patrons, and serving food. From our last visit, we ordered wontons in chili oil, chicken potstickers, and hand pulled noodles with braised pork belly. The wontons in chili oil had so much flavor and just the right amount of spice (medium heat). The potstickers were crispy and delicious. The soup was simple with braised pork belly, bok choy, and thin noodles. The meat and noodles were nicely cooked and the fresh bok choy was a good compliment. It was perfect for a cold day.
