Don't bother, unless you have 1 1/2 hours to wait. We ordered a pizza, bites and garlic bread sticks this evening at 6:35 PM. The order took over an hour and a half!!! It arrived after 8:08 PM! When it did arrive everything was cold. I tried calling the store. The phone system prompted me to hit #5 to speak to the manager. Guess what? The phone rang and rang and rang. The manager never picked up. It would have been nice to get some sort of credit or at a minimum an apology from the manager. However, as I said don't bother to think you'll get your order in a timely manor. And definitely don't expect decent customer service. read more

Went to pick up my pizza and the person in the back WAS NOT WEARING A MASK. This was today 12/29 while the pandemic is getting worse and restrictions are supposed to be increasing. This goes out to the crew working during the 6:00 pm hour on 12/3/2021. Innudated with orders. Even Karen wouldn't be able to flag down the manager, who was on the line himself feverishly tossing dough for the never ending backlog of pizzas. My order had a long way to go, but I was mesmerized by the teamwork in the kitchen, pizza after pizza being cranked out to meet demand. "You all are machines!", I said to a gentleman working alongside his manager. As I realized my awkwardness from my intended compliment, he smiled and said "it's just the nature of these times." This crew handled a tough situation with finesse and did not buckle under pressure. These five stars are the least I can do. Had my first Papa Johns pizza yesterday afternoon. I ordered in person at the store in Vienna, Virginia. After walking in, I noticed that the shop was very clean, well-organized and everyone there was friendly and accommodating. I ordered a large pizza with the works. It was perfect! Food quality was not very good. I ordered the frito chili pizza and got home to discover there weren't any Fritos on the the pizza.. Decided to try the chicken poppers which was my second mistake. I imagined something like chicken nuggets (like the picture showed on the website) but received something that looked like small dried out chicken bits. Stay far away from these items if you're looking to be satisfied. The regular cheese pizza was heavy and soggy, I was hardly able to even pick up the slices. Aug 13 2023/8pm: Ordered a pizza from Papa Johns in Vienna Va tonight. I ordered a pizza with the works and with a regular garlic parmesan crust like I always have in the past from this store. They delivered a pizza with mozzarella stuffed inside the crust, the crust in the center of the pizza was extremely thin, wet and there were NO mushrooms on the pizza. When you tried to pick it up, everything slid off because the center of the crust was so thin. The mozzarella cheese stuffed crust was approximately 3" wide. I called to let them know that my order was wrong, and he looked up my order and confirmed that that I had ordered the garlic parmesan crust and told me that was the way it came. I again told him there was cheese inside the crust. He told me that there was nothing he could do about it. Really? I paid almost $29 for a really sh___y pizza! The garlic parmesan crust DOES NOT come with mozzarella stuffed in the crust. The first three pizzas I ordered from this store were great, but this one was absolutely horrible!! I ordered three pizzas from them last week and placed my order online. First let me start by saying I have a fairly large family (usually feeding at least 5 growing boys) and need to order at least 3 to 4 pizzas for all of my orders. Papa John's is pretty expensive compared to other pizza delivery places in the area, as my total is usually at least $50 and I could order more pizza from Domino's for half that amount. Since my family likes variety every now and again I splurge and order from other pizza places. Last week I placed my order and made sure to try and take advantage of their "deals" and ordered 3 large pizzas and a 2 liter of soda. The pizzas were pepperoni or cheese and half of one of the pizzas had two additional toppings. After adding their delivery charge, tax and tip, my total was around $50. The scheisty thing about Papa John's is that when you order with a credit card they require that you tip ahead of time unless you have a cash tip. I didn't have the right bills for a cash tip, so I begrudgingly added the tip at the time I placed my order even though I don't believe in tipping unless the service is worthy of a tip (such as quick and friendly service+quality product). The estimated delivery time is almost always 40 minutes or more regardless of the time of day that I place my order even though I live less than 3 miles away. The last time I ordered Papa John's I picked up the pizzas myself because their delivery time is usually a lot higher than most other places but this time I was too tired. I realize the days of free delivery in 30 minutes or less are long gone so we grin and bear it, crossing our fingers that their estimation is off. The pizzas arrived in about 35-40 minutes, but as soon as I started handing out the pizza I realized that the pizzas had been sitting around for quite some time. They were barely even warm and the cheese had begun to harden and the grease from the pepperonis had already begun to settle. Honestly the pizza already looked like leftover pizza and it had just arrived at my house! It had been a long time since I choose Papa John's delivery, because this same situation has happened numerous times in the past but the other times we usually had a much longer wait time. I guess they chose to deliver other pizzas first, probably because they knew they ALREADY had a tip from me and didn't want to mess up their chances of getting tips from other customers! I didn't even bother to call Papa John's to complain because in the past the staff has been far from friendly, accommodating or apologetic. I might just go online and contact the franchise owner about this because they charge way too much money to be delivering lukewarm hardened pizzas. Other than that I probably won't be ordering delivery from them ever again and I doubt I'll even agree to do carry out from this location because the taste and quality have gone way down hill over the past few years. read more

This was not what I expected from Papa John's pizza. In my experience, it is typically a decent option for a chain/fast food pizza. There was way too much cheese and the crust was undercooked. I would have waited a little longer for a pizza with a crispier crust that did not have gloopy cheese falling off it. I would give them the least ratings. I ordered 2 pizza's for take out. They called saying the pizza is ready and I walk-in after 10 mins. The guys on the counter took his own time to help me. Anyways I tell him I have two pizza for "XYZ" and he gave me "ABC" pizza. I paid cash with out taking the receipt. Not impressed. The last two times we ordered from here - things were goof'd up. We tend to do pick up because delivery is just so slow. Last time they forgot our break sticks and so I had to wait for them to be made while the rest of the order sat under the heat lamp. Tonight there was some coupon (Caps one - go Caps!) but the service was terrible. Delivery was estimated at 60 minutes. After 70 minutes and the order tracker had it still being made - I called for an update. The order 'had just gone in' and it would be about 30 minutes to delivery. As the pizza only takes about 10 minutes to cook - I thought it a better option to go pick it up. The guy on the phone was great - gave me the Caps discount and saved us some money. As the pizza had just gone in - it would be ready when I arrive. Not so much. Waiting another 15 minutes. Thinking that at least the pizza would be pipping hot - I was good to wait. Finally got my 2 large pizzas and bread sticks and headed home. Not sure what happened in the 10 minutes from the store to our house - but the pizza was cold like it had been sitting around for a while. The final straw - one of the pizzas was 1/2 of mushroom. We counted exactly 4 pieces of mushroom on the entire 1/2. May try checking out the Tyco road one see if they have their act together more read more

You honestly cannot expect much from a multi-national pizza chain. That said, a little common courtesy and customer service can go a long way. Bottom line, they screwed up my order and acted like I was at fault when I called to rectify it. Let this be a lesson to everyone: Papa Johns does not hire quality people--they hire cheap labor. read more

I placed in order for 1 large pepperoni pizza at 11:30, they told me it would be here in 30-40 mins, after over an hour I called to check on the status....the guy who answered the phone told me that they were running behind and it would be at my house within 10 to 15 mins. He didn't apologize of offer me a discount. The pizza finally arrived 25 mins later (making it a total of an hour and a half wait from the time i placed the order to the time I received the order). I opened the box and the pizza wasn't even cooked properly. it was cold and the cheese wasn't melted. The pepperoni wasn't crispy and it wasn't cut the way I requested. I wish I had just canceled the order when I made the initial phone call, but I didn't have the time to order from somewhere else and start all over again. And I wish I hadn't placed the order online, because I paid with credit card and it forced me to tip the driver in my total, which I wouldn't have done if I knew it was going to take so long. All and all it was an awful experience and I won't be ordering from there again. I suggest anyone looking for a pizza pie in this area try ZPizza or Church Street pizza. Both are good, (zpizza if your looking or deli every and church street if you willing to pickup). But whatever you choose to do, steer clear of this joint, it blows. read more

However, since they hit you with a delivery fee and overprice the pizza to begin with, you don't save anything. Then they take forever to deliver. I waited an hour on a Sunday afternoon. Ridiculous!
