We used to be regulars here, ordering at least twice a month because the pizza was genuinely great. Delivery times were always a bit unpredictable -- sometimes early, sometimes up to an hour late -- but we were understanding. It's a small business, and we assumed they were doing their best, possibly with limited staff. Even when late, the pizza arrived hot and fresh, so we didn't mind. Unfortunately, our most recent order was a complete disaster and has turned us away for good. I placed an order with an ETA of 7:57 PM. The ETA came and went, but again, we were used to delays -- especially on a Friday night -- so we waited. Nearly an hour after the ETA, we finally called to check on the status. That's when we were told the driver had already delivered the pizza -- not to us, but allegedly to a random man standing by the bushes outside our house. The driver apparently asked this person if he ordered pizza, got a "yes," and just handed it over without confirming any details. We don't even have bushes in front of our house, and they refused to describe the person the pizza was given to, so I'm highly skeptical of their story. When I called the store, hoping to resolve things calmly, I was met with immediate hostility. The manager (or owner) scolded me for not calling sooner, saying if I had called within 5-10 minutes of the missed ETA, he might have considered a refund. I explained that, as loyal customers, we were just giving them the benefit of the doubt -- exactly because delays had been common in the past. Instead of understanding, he doubled down and told me I'd have to dispute the charge with my credit card company if I wanted my money back -- which I ultimately did. It's incredibly disappointing to be treated this way, especially as a frequent customer who always tried to be patient and understanding. Sadly, we won't be ordering from here again. read more

A colleague and I go there often for pizza, maybe once per week or so. Usually we get a slice plus a side salad and a soft drink. My fave is veggie, his is sausage or cheese. The crust is crunchy and well flavored. The cheese and tomato sauce are both excellent, and the toppings are good. The wait staff is attentive and pleasant. Only the ambiance is so-so, but it doesn't detract from the overall high quality of the food. I don't get why King's isn't written up more in lists of best local pizzas, but it should be, IMO. read more

August 2021 - COVID Review: When I used to work in the area, my coworkers that are originally from the NY/NJ metro area said that King's was as close to the pizza that they're used to from back home. After seeing them get whole pies for lunch often, I decided to try it for myself with my husband when we happened to be nearby. The pizza is thin but not too thin (which means it's not extra doughy) and I loved how crispy it was and how it holds up well with all the toppings. The cheese bread sticks were strange, basically like they rolled up some extra dough and covered it in cheese. The marinara sauce was like a very thin tomato soup. The pizza was good. The staff were okay, no one asked me how I was doing when I walked in. I loved the artwork on the walls. The craft beer selection could be better, there was not much variety. The drink options could be better as well, I would suggest possibly adding in some natural or even organic soda options as well. I would also suggest adding a recycling bin, because a lot of the pizza boxes and plastic bottles are recyclable, yet I had to trash mine (when they could have easily been recycled). When I got home what was on the order" meat and marinara sauce? My wife and I have found in the past few years that trying to place an order with some young folks is almost impossible. Decided to support this local business during these crazy times, even though they also messed up my pizza order a year ago. Called on Easter Day, two simple veggie pizzas...by the time we started dinner I noticed little pieces of pepperoni all over one of the pies, which I had to throw out since we do not eat pork for religious reasons (kosher). I decided to call the next day (today) and let the Manager know of the problem. Once I connected with the "acting" manager and politely told him the issue, indicating I have a few pictures as well. When I told him it was a Sunday dinner and that they also closed at 9, he went on to tell me he could only give me a discount toward another pizza - and no money back or a complimentary pizza could be offered. I mentioned again that I had a few pictures that I could send him and that ordering another pizza again (knowing the past two experiences I've had) would not be something I'm comfortable doing at this time, he went on to tell me again that he can't do anything and then went on to say that "things like that happen". When I noticed he was not willing to respect me as a customer or work with me, I asked him what he would say if I posted to Yelp!. He hung up on me. I saw on I could order pizza by the slice or order a whole pizza. Since I have never had their pizza before, I ordered only two slices. Ordering sausage and bacon pizza from a green haired lady. I don't remember her name so I will call her Verde. The pizza store had some nice pictures and a clean bathroom. I also saw the TV was playing some kind of TV show, but didn't pay attention to it. Probably the best, or one of the best pizza delivery restaurants in the Fairfax area. While delivery pizza (even the better ones) tend to be relatively disappointing on the whole, this one really does taste quite good, even if they *didn't* offer delivery. The pizzas are really large (the largest is 18 inches) and use high quality cheese and toppings. The only thing that could use improvement is the bland and dry pizza crust, that is a let-down (costing my rating one star). Adding to the great pizza, the pricing on the pies is extremely fair (even if it was pick-up only). Oh yes, they even sell huge slices too! This is not NY Pizza I'll tell you that upfront and first most. This place is confused if it wants to be a sit down restaurant or a take out diner. With minimal seating available the "waitresses" attempt you to sit down a take an order just for them to get a tip. This a poor design when you could just have people order from a register. Now for the food. It's average and lacking real flavor. I had a steak and cheese which lacked any real flavor and couldn't hit the mark of being worth $8.
