I would not say my experience was positive. My pizza was stiff and cold when we ate it. The white pizza was underwhelming. I know they say there are other ingredients like garlic but it looked like just cheese on dough. And a very thin layer at that. (And it's more expensive than the base for the standard tomato and cheese pizza.) I was honestly embarrassed to serve it to my guests. The other pizza was a build your own. At $2 a topping, I was disappointed how little of each topping I got. The busboy was also rude, to really make the experience. I know everyone wants to support small local businesses, and it's more hipster or cool to go to a small business, but when I go to dominoes, at least I know I'm going to get a healthy quantity of sauce and cheese on my pizza and it's going to be served warm. read more

After trying 5 different non chain pizza joints in town. This is now my go to pizza place. Does not disappoint. I now judge all other pizza places against Lombardi's. I love a good NY pie and Lombardi's does it right. A great thin and floppy NY slice, but still crisp when you get to the end crust. Flavor is too notch and I can tell they make the dough from scratch, it's superb. They are generous with the toppings too, but the purist in me loves their plain cheese pizza the most. This is probably the best pizza (New York style) in the Vienna area. What makes it delicious is the crust, which is carefully prepared. You will immediately taste the difference if you do a comparison test with Dominos, Papa Johns, or Paisano's. The veggie deluxe pizza ($18.36) is outstanding. It is more expensive than other places, but the quality upgrade (in my opinion) more than justifies the extra cost. Delivery was speedy (within 30 minutes on a Friday night). However, the only reason for a 4 star rating (instead of 5) was due to an ordering mixup. When I called to request a carry-out order, the person taking the order had written "delivery" instead. Fortunately, my wife was home to pay for the order while I was driving to Lombardi's to pickup the pizza. In any case, our family will be ordering from Lombardi's in the future. The only downside of getting pizza here is that once you do, you may never want to order pizza from anywhere else (in the Vienna area). read more

Lombardi's in Vienna is a great option for carry out. The slices are huge! Our favorite pizza is the Greek pizza. The gyro meat on it is delicious and doesn't taste cheap like at some pizza places. The white pizza is also a good option. I do wish the white pizza had more sauce under the cheese. The sauce is delicious and I think having more would push that pizza over the edge. read more

Permanently closed. Hasn't taken order in months. Keeps saying it's going to reopen, but no announcement.

Average food (from previous experiences...). Terrible customer service - would not recommend. Support businesses that deserve it. This one does not. (For those looking for alternatives: I highly recommend Pulcinella.) We ordered two pizzas for delivery 2-3 hours in advance, the order was cancelled 15 minutes before the delivery time because we are 0.9 miles outside of the delivery window. Calling the "delivery" vs. "dine in" phone numbers was useless. Each individual (Alice vs. Bethany) redirected defensively to the other. Marty - when you read this - I highly encourage you to reevaluate your staff. Church street's attendant (Alice, perhaps?) hung up on me. My suggestions: 1. Have your staff evaluate the address at order intake. 2. Have your staff take ownership and rectify the situation when they make a mistake. 3. Resolve the obvious redirect/contention between both of your locations. read more

Some of the best pizza we've ever had. It is absolutely delicious. We've tried Paisano's, Lost Dog, and Z Pizza delivery and while those are good, Lombardi's is a notch above. We've only ever had their pizza delivered so I can't speak about their restaurant service. Delivery has never been a problem. My only wish is for them to get online ordering on the website. Update: Since I posted this, they stopped delivering to my area. This makes me very sad and I'm going to try to coerce them into restarting by taking off a star. :-) read more

Um, no, our order said it was for delivery. The person on the phone refused to even check our order. So, we drove to Church Street to pick up our order. Very good pizza. Im originally from NYC and this place comes close to NY pizza. They own Churches as well. The recommendation I would like to make, Lombardis is only open until 9pm but they stop taking Delivery orders at 845pm. I called at 840pm and they told me sorry. And I live only 3 miles from them. I really think as a recommendation, when the pizza is that good, 9pm is too early and 845pm for last call for deliveries on Thursday is a joke. I would have made it 10 or 11pm at minimum and 945 or 1030 last call for deliveries. My 4 star and not 5 star is for this reason.. but pizza is good. read more

This place doesn't serve complimentary still water, the most basic standard in the restaurant industry. You either must pay for bottled water or drink carbonated water. I ordered a pepperoni pizza with light cheese and a greek salad. I was told it would take up to an hour to get because they were busy. It arrived an hour and 15 minutes later. The salad was hot, not warm but hot, I measured it at 112F with IR thermometer. The pizza was not light cheese and it was only half pepperoni. When I called the store I was told the salad was hot because it was hot outside, it was 85F and dusk. I was offered another salad and pizza. The salad arrived cold but the pizza was again half pepperoni half cheese and looked like it wasn't fully cooked. I'm done with this place. read more

Lombardi's delivers pizza for Church Street Pizza. The pizza is pretty standard NYC style pie. However, 1 Star because the drivers for Lombardi's drive so fast down residential streets, I call the town police and the store to express concern. Kids play at the end of a cul-d-sac. Fair enough- but your vehicle skids to a stop because your going so fast, your going to fast. I have heard of two other people who have called the Vienna Police on the drivers (people I did not know personally, just met at the post office and CVS). If you are a fan of "New York Style" pizza in the Vienna area, there are only three options of which I am aware: (1) Lombardis/Church Street Pizza (Lombardis only does delivery; Church Street is dine-in with no delivery - the pizza is literally the same); (2) Luciano's; and (3) Mamma Lucia at Fair City Mall. They are all pretty good, but IMO Lombardis/Church Street is best. The crust is always the key, and they get it right. Thin crust, zesty sauce, not too much cheese, and perfectly "foldable." We have ordered from them more times than I can count and delivery has always been timely and the pizza has always been hot. The only negative here, and why they only get four stars, is the price. It is pretty steep - more than twice what a similar size pizza from Dominos costs, for example. Of course the pizza is also much better than Dominos or Papa Johns or Pizza Hut. Is it worth it? When I am in the mood for the best pizza I can find, then yes it is, to me. YMMV. read more

I am from Brooklyn and Pizza (thin crust NY style) is what I was raised on. I have a preference for very thin, minimal sauce, and good toppings. The crust has to be foldable and soft with the outer crust having a chewy texture with a slight crunch. This hits it for sure. Lombardi's delivered on time and was very reasonable. The entire office wants it now over Pizza Hut and Dominos. We ordered three pies all with extra cheese, one with half sausage / pepperoni, half broc and third with half onion. Ordered 2 pizza's and was told an hour wait. Called 1.5 hours in and told pizzas coming in 20 min. Pizza's never showed. Called again and the teenagers working put me on hold and never came back and then ignored my number when calling. When I called the 4th time and told them not to charge me and to forget the order ever occurred, 2 hours later, they were super happy and not sorry at all. Thanks but no thanks.
