Stopped here the first time a few months ago. Thought the name Union Pie sounded familiar, and talking to my server found out why. The owner of Jamin Java / Union Pie also owns Union Stage, which I was a photojournalist for a show a year ago. The pizza is great. Love the thin crust, great sauce and cheese. The pepperoni is amazing. Thick cut, curls up when cooked and a nice spice to it. Why 4 stars. Wish they would expand the menu variety a bit. Would love to see crumbled sausage as an option, and maybe ham and bacon. Price and value. Good value for the quality of food. Also the staff there are great. I stopped there yesterday to get take out and pizza was as good as last time. I also love how you can get half a pizza or full pizza. You pay a bit extra for a half, to encourage you to get a full pizza. Do it.. It's worth it :-)

Over the weekends, we love having a pizza party with the kids and everyone gets their own pizza (always doubles over for leftovers!). You can't go wrong with the traditional Margherita pizza, and the Bufalo mozzarella pizza is amazing! My daughter loves the Kids cheese pizza, which is more like NY style. The Eggplant Parma pizza is so unique and hands-down my favorite! It literally tastes like eggplant Parm on a pizza without the The Vegetarian white pizza with roasted mushrooms with rosemary, zucchini, and peppers is quite tasty and the thinly red onions are worth adding for only $1 more. We ordered the chicken pesto pizza. It arrived piping hot. The pizza is very thin and light. I could have easily ordered another as I was still hungry. Shortly after we ordered cannolis. The pizza is consistently delicious, and it's something we genuinely look forward to every week. My son's favorite is their bacon and pineapple pizza -- and I have to say, it's honestly a brilliant combo that's even better than a traditional Hawaiian. Tonight we ordered our usual through a delivery app. It was a long delivery time, but it's a popular spot and a Friday night, so that was completely expected. Unfortunately, the wrong pizzas arrived. We were disappointed (and very hungry!), so we ended up eating a couple of slices even though it wasn't a combo we would normally choose. I called Church Street Pizza to let them know what happened. While they couldn't resolve the issue directly through the app, they immediately offered to remake our order for pickup. When I mentioned we had eaten a few slices, they were gracious and kind about it. We brought back one of the pizzas, they gave us our correct order fresh, and even wrote us a note for a free pizza. On the ride home, my son and I were talking about how much we love this place -- not just for the food, but for how they treated us when they truly didn't have to. That kind of service says everything. Great local business that we're proud to support. Thank you, Church Street Pizza!

Surviving a move to a location in desperate need of signage, plus the pandemic, this jewel of Vienna survives. Unfortunately they don't sell individual slices anymore, it's just one size. On the plus side they have a great dining room and ample parking. Beverages are bottled coke products, gone is the fountain and booths. The pizza is New York thin crust excellent. Great undercarriage. Little grease draining off with pepperoni and sausage. The sausage is fairly salty though. It's hard to fall, it's a good place for pizza. The taste is not what I remembered, it's been a while since I've been here, but it's good pizza. One major change: Signage. Something outside that points the way, and a drink menu inside. If they are going to have a dining area, fill it out a little. Encourage people to eat instead of just takeout.

I know they say there are other ingredients like garlic but it looked like just cheese on dough. And a very thin layer at that. (And it's more expensive than the base for the standard tomato and cheese pizza.) I was honestly embarrassed to serve it to my guests. The other pizza was a build your own. At $2 a topping, I was disappointed how little of each topping I got. The busboy was also rude, to really make the experience. I know everyone wants to support small local businesses, and it's more hipster or cool to go to a small business, but when I go to dominoes, at least I know I'm going to get a healthy quantity of sauce and cheese on my pizza and it's going to be served warm.

The buffalo mozzarella beet salad normally comes with arugula, and I asked to substitute lettuce, but they weren't able to accommodate that--which was a bit disappointing. That said, the salad was still very good. The roasted beets were definitely the highlight, along with the delicious toppings like chickpea purée and pistachios. One thing to note is that the buffalo mozzarella was very salty. The Margherita Pizza was the star of the meal--absolutely delicious! In fact, hubby liked it even more than his chicken Milanese. While he enjoyed his dish, the portion was quite small, so he ended up eating half of my pizza. His entrée also came with just a tiny arugula side salad, and it really could have used a carb to make it more filling. One thing to note is that when we arrived and told the hosts that we didn't have a reservation, they didn't seem too pleased. The restaurant was half empty so they still sat us, but this seemed like an issue. Our server was nice and attentive at the beginning but was nowhere to be found towards the end when I needed a refill on my iced tea. Overall, we had a great experience and are already planning to come back--next time, we'll both be ordering pizza!
