This is a wonderful panini, wrap and soup shop on the main street in Ashland. Find street parking or a city lot nearby and walk up to find it. You won't get very close with a car most days. The staff was prepared and ready to grill and serve lunch, a nice aspect of a very laid back looking place. The servings are very large so if you just want a light meal, be agreeable and share a selection. If you are looking for a hearty meal, this is it. We had some veggie and mushroom concoction (Wild Mushroom Panini) with chèvre that was so flavorful. My husband also had the homemade lentil soup which he reported was fantastic. On such a brisk day, I found the options for hot tea to be quite broad and satisfactory. We enjoyed our meal but saved room for dessert at another eatery nearby that had also come highly recommended. If I had more time to visit the area, I would try something here another time. read more

I was in Ashland back in May to watch a few wonderful plays and ate at Pangea twice. I tried the Mushrooms Wild panini (the chevre was way too strong for my taste. Didn't really like this) and the What She's Having panini (enjoyed this one much more), as well as the Coconut Curried Yam soup (YUMMY) and the Burmese Lentil soup (ehh.) Two hits, two misses... I also tried a bit of my friend's Squirrel Nut salad. It looked super healthy, taste was okay. PROS: - There's definitely an interesting selection of foods here. I really wanted to try a wrap... maybe next time I visit Ashland for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival - Great vegetarian/vegan options. They definitely stress their "hormone-free range meats", "seasonal, locally harvested organic produce", and other things to make you feel like you're helping the earth while eating their food - Free water. And lots of different sauces! They even provide Sriracha sauce haha CONS: - Pretty pricey - Restaurant is small and can be crowded at mealtimes - Don't try the lemon basil cookie. Any restaurant bold enough to serve borscht and do it well, is alright by me! I tried a soup sample and I was hooked on this cold beet soup. Yum! I appreciate this restaurant for their vegan and gluten-free consciousness. If only more places like this existed in Klamath Falls... but then I'd have no reason to visit lovely Ashland! The gluten-free wrap on The Grill From Ipanema was a bit crunchy, almost like a large cracker, but that didn't throw me off the dish. The aioli sauce made the wrap taste like egg salad, and I liked it. Add some of those freshly pickled peppers from the accoutrement station and you're in business. The panini, What She's Having, was grilled to perfection, and even though the gluten-free version is a little bit smaller, it was still a satisfying portion. The Squirrel Nut salad was just what I was looking for, plenty of roughage and a tasty tahini to boot. On my way out I grabbed a lemon basil cookie and sang its praises as I munched it along main street. Hooray for this place! I'll be back whenever I visit Ashland. read more

One of my favourite places ever. I was introduced to it during middle school on our annual trips and 12 years later I still always stop here when I'm in Oregon. Excellent soups and panini. This is also pretty much the only place you'll find gluten free panini, let alone delicious ones that don't make you feel like you're missing out. I was diagnosed with a gluten allergy a few years after I started coming here, so I can confirm the gluten free is just as delicious as the regular, if a bit smaller. read more

Ashland is full of amazing places to dine. We had to stop at Pangea because of their amazing looking paninis. I ordered the French Kiss panini, which has a few simple, yet amazingly flavorful ingredients: Brie cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and basil pesto. Each ingredient has such a unique and powerful flavor profiles, and they all come together and beautifully complement each other. The Brie cheese though, is the biggest star of this luncheon production. Nothing will ever beat the flavor that Brie brings to the table. The café offers a small water station, that also has a jar of pickled carrots and peppers: Very tasty. The staff were friendly - except the cold stare by one employee as we left - and, like every other restaurant in Ashland, I love their use of local artist's art on the walls. Great food! I always get the Indian curry wrap. I'm super sensitive to spice and the spice is perfect for me. A lot of places That have spicy food underestimate my sensitivity and end up not being able to eat the food. They have vegetarian options for those who live that lifestyle. Always friendly staff. Wonderful place! I had the french kiss panini, it was the best panini I have found. Unique and full of flavor. I could really taste the brie cheese and pesto. My co-workers had the teriyaki wraps and they loved them as well! The rose lemonade had a hint of rose flavor and scent, very good and refreshing. This place was excellent. The food was on point and the staff was very friendly. Very fast service too. I asked about their wraps and if they had a buffalo chicken one, and they said it was a specialty item not on the menu at the moment but they would make one for me anyways. The wrap was amazing! I had the Mother Stuffer: jam-packed with roasted red peppers, tomatoes, spinach, avocado and artichoke hearts dripping with melted mozzarella, alouette and pesto, then grilled on a spinach tortilla. If you want a wholesome healthy meal. This is the spot! The soups are mostly vegetarian and vegan. I am neither but came here two days in a row because the quality of the soups were so outstanding. Fresh, organic yumminess! The split pea and carrot soup was thick, hearty, and just plain delicious. I also tried the Thai vegetable vegan soup. Great flavor! Nice and mild. Not too spicy and fairly thick texture. They come with two small bread sticks made in the house. They were soft and chewy. They also have great salads. I had a side salad. It had lettuce, sprouts, raisins, peanuts, almonds, flax seeds, an sunflowers. The panini sandwich I tried was just okay. It had chicken, BBQ sauce, red peppers, and mozzarella. I've been enjoying this place for over 15 years- since before moving here back in '99- & it's truly a staple, in my eyes, as a local favorite! The updated look is much more vibrant, but still keeps its edgier appeal, too, & the staff is just as chill as ever. Their hibiscus cooler is wonderful on a day like today- so refreshing & relaxing at the same time. I felt like going vegetarian today, so I got their Cleopatra salad with artichoke hearts, sundried tomatoes & parmesan topped with their house vinaigrette and a cup of their corn chowder. The salad is as much a breath of fresh air as they come- there's a nice balance between tart from the vinaigrette & artichokes, sweet from the sundried tomatoes & salty from the cheese. And the chowder has a great consistency- kernels that pop in your mouth, soft onions & potatoes, & fun unexpected notes of green chile! Very refreshing and unique options for vegetarians and vegans, along with a few meaty offering as well. We received horrible service. Food was decent with a unique variety of selection. From the moment we walked in the cashier appeared less than thrilled to actually have to work and showed no emotion until the tip was received. We were the only ones in the place at the time but others walked in after us and after the guy in the back prepared our food quickly and placed it on the counter we had to wait around another 10 minutes for the cashier to put it in a bag and finally hand it to us. I will not be back as they showed they do not care for business. The first time I walked in here I didn't order because I was looking for different kinds of food but made a mental note at how friendly the server was and helpful too. I had just showed up in Ashland the hour before. So i went here for dinner the next evening and ordered a chicken wrap. It was absolutely delicious! The chicken was super moist and flavorful and the rest of the ingredients and vegetables were too. This place has a super basic atmosphere- very cafe like. But the service is outstanding! It's as if they really want you to eat here and enjoy the experience and your food. (I know, a funny comment, but sometimes that is not the case, especially in little, casual cafes- I get used to servers looking right through me and being too cool to care). It's cute and cozy in this little gem I had the blue chicken and caramelized onions and peppers wrap. Was quite tasty loved the thin tortilla and the chicken was perfectly cooked. Service was quick and friendly I went again for the Wild mushroom panini and that was delicious as well. Not a place for children it's a bit tight and although I enjoy children there were a few there and with no where for them to move they continued to kick and move my table and chairs as well as every other guest. Nina and I were working our way down this side of Main Street. After checking out various stores w/ varying degrees of success, we had a hankering for a glass of home squeezed lemonade. The weather has been in the mid 90s and due to get hotter toward the end of the week. ABC used to make it and then a year old so before it closed it switched to commercially made and I could taste the difference w/ one sip. We hadn't had homemade lemonade in Ashland since, despite a few tries. Today we were right by Pangea. We walked in and Nina asked if their lemonade was homemade. It was, so we each ordered a glass. It was rose lemonade and it was heaven in a glass. The rose flavor reminded us of the Mediterranean cooler we so loved at Pilaf and the lemonade was wonderfully tart, smack in the middle of my flavor profile. For Nina it was a little bit too tart, so she drank it slower than I did. We both used their single bathroom and I appreciated that they had a box of Kleenex in it. You don't often see that in small restaurant bathrooms. We will be back tomorrow and the next day and the next. read more
