Had to stop in for coffee before leaving. Since one of my classmates was staying nearby, we came in for coffee. I ordered a large mocha since I really needed some caffeine. Same great vibe! Friendly service! I bought the medium and dark Guatamalan, both soooooo good! Great place to come to any time of the day! Lots of locals! AC inside, great patio spaces outside!

I hope someone worthy buys this local gem. Frequented by high schoolers, entrepreneurs and Ashland retirees, it's beloved by all. Yummy pastries and small bites never disappoint. I do wish they would serve a yummy soup/ bread combo, similar to another local coffee shop. If so, I would come in just for lunch.

Roco is a local staple of a coffee shop! The ambiance can't be beat! Located a few blocks from downtown, this is the place to avoid the tourists and be surrounded by locals enjoying coffee. There is a good amount of street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. When you walk inside you instantly feel cozy. The wood beam ceilings, the softly playing music, and tucked away seats is phenomenal. It really encompasses the cozy coffee shop work aesthetic. Their drinks are some of the best in town. They always have fun seasonal drink options too which I really enjoy! The baristas are so sweet and are very chatty if you need recommendations. If you come often enough they will even remember your name and greet you as you enter! All the seats along the bench have access to an outlet and the wifi is FAST! I have taken several zoom meetings here with no issues. Roco has a mix of people working or socializing. I personally love the mixed groups but if you are looking for something more quiet- this might not be your stop. Overall, highly recommend this spot!

Dunno if it was just the particular barista I got but my breve seemed like it was mostly milk and not much coffee. Foam was only a thin layer on top and not the rich microfoam I was craving all the way down. Pastries were good. I posted the menu because the one highlighted by Yelp is obviously very out of date. Prices are $2-4 more than the old menu!

Visiting Ashland and stopped by for some coffee and to kill some time. Great, friendly customer service and lovely atmosphere. I got latte shake (espresso and ice cream blended) and it was perfect on a hot summer afternoon!

Really great place to go when you are new. Very welcoming Staff, lovely ambiance. I had just lived in Ashland a week when I stumbled upon it on my daily dog walk. (If you ever want to fit in fast, walk a pug. The staff talked me through Oregon protocol and set me up with a great cappuccino. They also serve pastries and beer and cocktails.

Simple Mocha, more on the dark chocolate side I think but not bad. Beautiful little shop with outdoor seating

Tasty cup of coffee, very friendly staff, and a very relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast burrito was good but not amazing.

I "SKOUTED" this place out all the way from Sacramento California. We're on a long roadtrip and I…read morewas looking for something beautiful and hearty to hold us over for the rest of our drive. This place truly exceeded our expectations. I love that the restaurant store front is opened wide, it makes it easy to approach and order at the counter. They have a very large variety of alcoholic drink options and some very tasty non alcoholic options as well. Even though we sat outside about 5 tables down, they still came by to deliver our food to us instead of having us waiting inside. The food was amazing. Meat was juicy, bread was perfect, both the sides of fries and house made chips were delicious. The ranch tasted like it was house made as well but I forgot to ask them. My cider was great and my partner got a strawberry slushy- both did not disappoint. The overall theme inside is adorable! It's got a lot of wooden pieces and a camping trailer inside really ties the theme together nicely. There is plenty of tables and shade outside and lots of indoor seating as well. Bathrooms are super clean and clearly well maintained by the folded toilet paper roll. The only thing I will say is if you're going to sit outside expect outside things to happen. There was a lot of flying debris from around the creek due to someone down the way doing outdoor maintenance. Despite this, my partner and I thought it was worth it to hear the running water and be in such a beautiful area for lunch. I would scream my recommendation from the roof top if I could. Thank you for a great meal!

Location, location, location!…read more At Skout tap house all three meanings are working in the restaurant's favor. First, Ashland is a great LOCATION to grab a bite before braving the mountain passes on either side. Within the town the Skout building is LOCATED at the edge of the creek and beautiful Lithia park, and finally the Skout LOCATION itself is a building comfortably decorated with a camping themed ambiance. We ordered the Ultra Meltathon (grilled cheese), a Brisket sandwich, and truffle fries. The Skout version of a grilled cheese, augmented with bacon and jam, was the standout for us. The thin cut and crispy truffle fries were also very good and were gobbled up quickly. On the other hand the brisket was a bit dry but serviceable today rather than a standout. Maybe add some bbq sauce to elevate it a bit? I loved the curated craft beers on tap so check these out if so inclined. See the pics for a glimpse of the roll-up door window that opens to the park, the inside tables and camper, and of course the food. Probably a 4.5 but rounded to 5 stars because of ... location, location, location!

Speaking, the brisket in the Banh Mi was unfortunately tough and lacked the tenderness you'd expect from a properly smoked or braised cut. It had the distinct texture of a pre-packaged Sysco-style product, or perhaps it was a cold portion reheated on a flat top without being properly rehydrated, leaving it dry and chewy. I understand that protein carries a high food cost, especially in the current market. However, a more effective approach might be to balance the menu engineering by leaning on lower food cost items, like seasonal sides or creative vegetarian options, to offset the expense of sourcing and correctly preparing higher-end brisket. This would allow for a better product that justifies its price point, covers its own cost, and ultimately helps the company's bottom line while maintaining the quality standards this town deserves. I'd love to see a return to the quality I experienced a few years ago. All and all, despite the brisket. The service was kind and friendly.

Happy Hour Wednesday to Sunday 2pm-6pm ($4 pints during HH) I had the toasted coconut chocolate porter, shared the dough bites off the HH menu along with the ahi entree and tiramisu cheesecake with my lady. Host staff was very hospitable which is always a plus upon arrival. HH was happening when we arrived so we chose the herb dough bites off that menu, along with 2 house chardonnays. Dough bites were underwhelming to say the least. Some were hard and some were soft and chewy. They were served with a grainy Dijon mustard and some sort of an aioli sauce. Marinara sauce would have been more appropriate. On to the entrees. I chose the ahi tuna salad and my hubby went with a basic burger. His opinion ... just a burger. Fries were fresh and yummy. My ahi tuna salad came with passion fruit vinaigrette and unfortunately it was super tart and not good at all. Make sure to have them give you a taste before you commit. I asked for a side of balsamic dressing but unfortunately the passion fruit one was already overwhelming it. I know not to order seafood in bar and grill but I thought I was safe with it incorporated in a salad. My advice ... stick with the basics ... beer and a burger !!!

There is not one thing I would change about this restaurant. Making the reservation on their…read morewebsite site was easy. We showed up at 5 and were greeted by the same fabulous woman as last time. You just know that someone that kind and welcoming would not own a place she wasn't rightfully proud of. She sets the tone and all the employees carry it through the entire meal. We chose to try the patio tonight and it was cozy yet open, darker with a couple of fire lights around the room. Intimate. Some of the tables are separated by live plants in planter boxes. We loved it. We started with the beets (with shaved fennel pieces and a citrus vinaigrette with a tahini yogurt sauce on the bottom) and burrata (with grilled pieces of bread and sugar snap peas and capers) appetizers - both were delicious. Randy wanted to try another of their off menu drinks. We can't remember what this drink is called but it's not on the menu and has some Mai tai mix and orange bitters ... like a mock Mai tai spritzer. Delicious - Randy had two! I got the mushroom bolognese - so good. It's home made (!) bucatini pasta with a mushroom (cremini, oyster and shiitake) and san Marzano tomato sauce with burrata on top. I love mushrooms but Randy does not and he loved this dish. The mushrooms taste meaty. Randy ordered the Carbonara again and it was also delicious. We also got an order of garlic bread this time and wow. We each have half of our dinners left, lucky us. We shared the creme brûlée which came with a lavender short bread cookie. Perfect. Everything was perfect. The place was packed and all employees were calm and efficient and friendly. Can't wait to go back!
