A friend of ours, who used to manage a coffee roaster in Vancouver, WA, recommended Case to us, since Case is also a coffee roaster. We had been there once before, on Christmas morning, since they happened to be the only coffee shop open in Ashland. We were walking back to class when I told Josie that I needed some caffeine. She: Have you been to Case? Me: No, but it's on my list! Cozy little shop and right across from SOU. They had a special, Horchata Latte, and I had to have it. Sooooo good! So much so, I came back a few days later for another. Now, if you want to get a cookie, first ask if there are any coming out of the oven soon, if so, that's the one you need to get. Right after I ordered the maple pecan, a tray magically appeared out from the kitchen...and it was sooooooooo good! I did have to wait a bit for it to cool down, but it was sooooooo worth it! I found their drip coffee to be incredibly weak and insipid, with no body at all. It looked like weak tea and tasted like weak coffee- flavored tea. They also had an extremely limited pastry or sweets selection on my two visits spread out over time. Today the entire selection consisted of two plain croissants and one ham and cheese brioche. I would only go here if you want an espresso-based drink and nothing else. read more

Came here on our first morning in Oregon! They have a classic small menu with quality coffee. We ordered a cappuccino, a mocha with oatmilk, a coffee cake muffin, and a turkey and cheese croissant. Sometimes we need a change. My change came when I moved to Ashland. And I felt I needed a new coffee place to enjoy my morning fix. After a week of Starbucks I needed something else. And that I definitely found at Case. One of the reasons, it's close to my new home and opens at 7am. At 8am it's already a full house at Case with people working behind laptops and chatting. It's a nice atmosphere with some tables and chairs, along the window there's a beautiful wooden bar and wooden stools. It's got a very laid-back atmosphere, some good music in the background and, most importantly, they do have most excellent coffee. I need to find out more about the place but I think they roast their own coffee. There's a small display of pastries, very decently priced. They sell coffee in packs, home-roasted I'm thinking. Coming from LA I think so much is less expensive in Oregon, so $3 for a coffee is a good price to me. Their pastry looks delicious. It's one of these Oregonian things that make Oregon the place it is. Small business, less of a corporate feeling. I may have just have found my new coffee place with a super friendly staff. read more

Best coffee I have had in forever! We stopped here on our way to Portland from California. The staff is super sweet and prompt with our drinks. I got a caramel latte which was super buttery but not too sweet. They also put a cute heart on the top but I didn't have my phone to snap a picture. I will be dreaming of coming back soon. read more

Case Coffee caught my eye immediately as our school bus rolled into town. I'm embarassed to both realize and admit this, but the first thing I look for when trying to ground myself in a new place is a great coffee place. I had no idea that Ashland had it THIS good. Ok, the first day I got there, the woman who served me with surly. She wasn't so into my request (for my coworker) for a latte without foam, because they do "microfoam"- that creamy, perfect, art-friendly foam that is what all lattes should be made with. But maybe she is totally over people coming in with the wondrous, hillbilly look I probably had on my face when I walked in the front door. Either way, the latte was great, and the dude working the bar was very pleasant. That is really all that I could ask for. The aesthetic of the shop reminds me of hipster cafes in SF (like Ritual) or Oakland (Blue Bottle); wood accents everywhere with a bright, clean look. As much as I hate gentrification in the Bay Area and the hipsters that suckle on the wounds of "renovated" neighborhoods like entitled gnats, Case has the look without the actual hipster 'tude. They have communal tables and counters, and customers who will actually look up from their laptops to chat (Flip and Molly!). Succulents add a touch of green here and there in precious wooden flowerpots. One quarter of the room is dedicated to their coffee roaster, where apparently they host coffee tasting lessons. I was very tempted to get one of their homemade biscuits with jam, but didn't want to pony up the $2.50 for it. Maybe I'm really missing out. But I'll be there every morning for coffee until I leave. read more

We stumbled upon Case Coffee Roasters and loved our experience! The owner, Liv, was very helpful in answering our questions about the specialty drinks and offering customer favorites. We ordered the Thai iced coffee and the cardamom rose mate over ice and both were DELICIOUS. For treats, we chose the cinnamon vegan donut (very moist! reminiscent of a churro!!,) the maple pecan bar (YUM!,) and the spinach and feta croissant (perfect amount of cheesy goodness.) Great staff and cozy space to catch a coffee close to the campus of Southern Oregon U in Ashland. The cortado's we had were smooth and rich a bit milky but very good. I guess the fact they even offer cortado is a big plus, as this is less milk in general than say a cappuccino. Most drinks are $3 including regular coffee and the smaller coffees and price head up from there, and for high end artisan brew the prices here are fair. Not sure this is the very best that Ashland offers in fancy bean, but it has to be in considered in the list. read more

This coffee shop used to be me of only favorite places to frequent. I gave it 5 stars at one point. But both the quality of their coffee and especially their customer service are not what they used to be. It's still the best coffee shop in Ashland. And I would go to this location over the downtown location which is much worse. But if you're looking for the best cafe in the area, and don't mind a 15 minute drive, then check out Forage in Medford. Their coffee is just as good and their customer service and family friendly atmosphere is what every coffee shop should aspire to be. read more

The people who work here are so incredibly lovely. The coffee is wonderful, especially the specialty seasonal drinks. The Horchata Latte is a really delicious fall seasonal drink, and their Pumpkin Spice Latte is also really delicious-the syrups are made in-house so the Pumpkin Spice isn't the exact same as a PSL that you can get at like a Starbucks, or Dutch Bros. Since they're a roaster, they roast their own beans and sell their blends. All of their blends are lovely-you'll be sure to find one you'll like. The ambiance of the location by SOU is absolutely lovely; there are a lot of plants, there's a lot of natural light from the big front windows. You'll be sure to find a lot of college students in and working. There are also spaces to sit outside for days where it's nice enough to sit outside. read more

Just passing through and had to grab a cup for the road. We have become quite the coffee snobs and hunt out roasters during our trips. This place did not disappoint. Cute atmosphere, nice friendly staff and great coffee. A little off the highway and a bit slower then your chain coffee but well worth the detour. Will stop by again when passing through. read more
