I've been supporting Rogue Roasters since they first opened their doors, which is why this review is so disappointing to write. I love supporting businesses that use high-quality, ethically sourced organic coffee, and I don't mind paying $10 for a coffee--but I do expect to receive the full size I paid for. Unfortunately, this has become a recurring issue. Every time I order a 16-ounce coffee through DoorDash, it arrives significantly underfilled. This last order measured only 10 ounces. What disappoints me most is that Rogue Roasters just isn't the same as it used to be. The care and consistency that made me a loyal customer seem to be gone. I hope management addresses this because it's becoming the standard, not the exception. I'll probably just start buying the beans and making my coffee at home. read more

16-24 months ago, they pumped up their price of whole beans from 15 to 16 dollars per pound. Recently, in the last 4-5 months they increased the price of their beans to 19 bucks a pound, (NINETEEN BUCKS A POUND!!) with the owner claiming it's because of POTUS Trump's tariffs'. While I empathize when business overhead cost increases and I don't expect them to eat it, I also am VERY aware that other competing brands of coffee in the PNW are not increasing their prices, and holding the line. Even some more small boutique brewers. I can name 3 or 4 brands right off the top of my head that many would recognize and their prices remain stable that I've purchased in the last week or two. And their coffee remains delicious. When I can get competing, and just as delicious products for approximately 15-16 a pound right now, that suggests it's one of two reasons: Either Rogue Roasters needs to switch suppliers, or RR is using tariffs as an excuse to price gouge- and I cannot say which it is, but I CAN say we are done with Rogue Roasters until they pull their prices back out of the stratosphere. read more

Authentic, unique, great service and a great place to hangout. As soon as you walk in, the aroma of the coffee beans hits your nostrils. They also have excellent bites such as the turkey pesto sandwich and they rotate their soups every week. You can't go wrong with any coffee beverage you order. For people and their dogs need more seating with space around tables to keep reactive dogs out of others space. Didn't ask whether that was available for dog seating as well. Coffee was good. My Americano was slightly bitter, but I rounded it out with one Stevia packet!! I also had an everything bagel toasted and spread with some outstanding jalapeño and cheddar cream cheese. Really good. Food menu includes 3 types of bagels and 3-4 creme cheese spread choices; 4-5 sandwich options and a pastry case with muffins and scones. Ordering service was great/fast and single barista was doing double duty making drinks and covering new orders for cashier who was prepping the food orders. Traveling from California to Seattle stopped at Grants Pass and looked up a coffee place in Yelp, once again found this gem! Delicious coffee, one of the best cappuccinos ever! The owner took great care of us! Super friendly and fast. The place is beautiful with lots of light and space to sit, relax and enjoy. My family had sandwiches and they were made to order, came out perfect. By the way, they were very patient and easy with our large and indecisive group! The drinks themselves were drinkable but not great for us, we got 2 lattes off of the winter specials menu: the eggnog latte and peppermint mocha, and both just did not have very much flavor, while the eggnog was also pretty bitter. We really enjoyed the smoothie and they didn't skimp on the peanut butter which I personally am happy about but that's going to be more of a personal preference thing. Really great on a hot day. Won a $20 gift certificate. We had never tried them so thought this would be the perfect time. The barista had no idea that they even had gift certificates. This was the best of our experience. Took 10 minutes to make our 2 hot drinks. We didn't try them until we got back in our car. Both coffees were horrible. Tasted burnt and I mean burnt. Neither one had any flavor at all. After getting home we tried to doctor them up but that only made them worse. We microwaved both to heat them back up and they developed a film like cooked pudding. My wife is gluten intolerant and while there we noticed they had a gluten free scone. We've gotten GF scones from Human Bean and they're phenomenal. Granted, these were from a different baker but you'd think they would be good. At least edible. Nope, they were every bit as bad as the coffee. Just 1 bite and in the garbage it went. So much potential. Looks like a casualty of Covid. Pics of a [former] vibrant store with retail and large staff. But not now. Spartan decor, minimal local retail, no mugs. I'm guessing the previous owners folded under Covid and sold the biz. I'm also guessing the new proprietor is cautious about dumping funds into making it a stellar establishment. Lighting is at least 6 disparate fixtures, some in disrepair. Some consignment art on the walls, but mostly a bare, frugal energy. Personally, drinking good coffee out of a paper cup is like drinking wine out of plastic. But I get it... paper is cheaper. Kudos to the friendly staff, great coffee and being open on Sunday.
