Love their coffee! I went there twice last week and both times the coffee was fantastic and I enjoyed hanging out getting some work done. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is they have no food whatsoever and they don't open until 8 am, which for a coffee shop is very late. So not really a place you can come hang out in for too long. Since I needed a place to get work done for several hours this was a disappointment because I had to wait outside until 8 am for them to open, then had to leave after a bit to go get food. I will definitely be returning though and hopefully, they have some sort of food soon! read more

Coffee is good and obviously locally roasted. They will even go out of their way to steam some oatmilk for your tea if asked. Wifi works great as well. Decor and muzak is conducive to work and study. The only down side is that they close by 3pm most days. Ohh, also, people use the drive through a lot... it is a thing in Oregon. read more

Stopped in Grant's Pass to get a coffee. Was intrigued by one of their specials, an Irish Cream latte. It ended up being nearly $7 for a small, and just tasted like a so-so latte with some sugar added, no distinctive Irish Cream taste. Would have been better off going to Starbucks for a plain latte. The staff here are so nice ! Not only is the coffee good but I left smiling when I left the drive through. They add the perfect amount of sweetener so their crafted drinks are flavorful but not too bitter . The baristas are definitely good at what they do, They also have delicious pastries and a lot of gluten free and some vegan options too! Grants Pass is a tough market to jump into and start competing with coffee--wise. With it all ready be over-saturated with a plethora of other coffee shops and drive-up coffee stands. I know that Rogue Roasters has been established for a few years, but there were other companies with several other years under their belt! And, Rogue Roasters, like *Cream; has risen to the TOP*!! I've had their Mexican Mocha, and drip coffee and they have all been amazing. Last time I was there, I had there "Summer Love" which was a cold-press coffee with coconut, and lavender. It amazing, to say the least!! In addition, to really knowing the coffee market, and picking out great beans, roasting and making yummy drinks from them. I also like their staff. They seem really friendly and helpful, and very personable. But, not overly-Hyper and in your face yelling, "Whats up Braaaaah" to you, which can be grating to someone who tends to be more distant & aloof, especially when under caffeinated!! read more

This used to be the best coffee shop in the valley. When I lived in Medford I would drive out to GP just to get a good cup of coffee. But it's truly gone down hill. I've given it several tries since moving to Grants Pass and each time it's burnt coffee that leaves a horrible coat in my mouth. Hole in the wall gem! Recommended by a friend. The menu items are unique and range from coffee to teas to smoothies. I ordered the "Vanilla Truffle Berry La-Tea". It is a light vanilla and berry tea latte topped with chocolate shavings. My friend got the "Lavender Love" made with espresso instead of cold brew and she very much enjoyed it. I made the mistake of asking for an extra shot after the fact and got a little attitude about making sure that I had 50 cents because they would not let me use the card for that little amount of money. The lavender lemonade is amazing. Not to and the lavender is not over powering. Coffee fresh roasted is only $14 a pound which is a fantastic deal! Here's the deal: my parents live down in Cali but they happened upon RR on their way to visit me in northern Oregon and now it's TRADITION. Anytime they pass through Grant's Pass to visit us or anytime we pass through to visit them, we make the extra stop just to stock up on Rogue Roasters coffee. The coffee is excellent. I ordered a white chocolate "rose" breve because it sounded unique. I also ordered a regular coffee to go. Both were of great quality and taste. Smooth, not burnt. Delicately flavored. I must just have the type of face where young female servers just don't really want to be pleasant to me. (Looking at you, Buttercloud) I arrived 15 minutes before opening because I didn't check the hours yesterday. I should have considering most of the small businesses in this town has short hours. I was early, so I waited patiently by the building, out of the rain, and dilly-dallied on my phone. When the young woman unlocked the door and half-leaned into sort of holding the door open for me, I stood up, smiled brightly and said "mornin!" loudly enough for her to hear. She just walked in and let the door shut as I was walking to it. Didn't say anything. I repeated my "good morning" when I walked in and got a half hearted "mornin" without even a glance in my direction. ...ooookay. I don't care how hung over she is and she doesn't owe me anything personally but perhaps at least...not.. be a cow? Well, the woman at the register was kind and the coffee is good. I want to love RR! I have to say, my experiences here have been alright until the last. Barista seemed to be trying to one-up the world regarding eastern wellness trends, coming off annoyed & territorial that regular ole people were taking interest in what others have been practicing for a long time. She was less than helpful in ordering, but also just plain disingenuous. Good: great options for snacks & beverages from quality ingredients, and a refreshing, relaxing yet energizing ambiance. Lots of natural light, a cozier section in the back, outlets throughout. I've always loved the feel of this place. Not Good: parking can be tight, entrance somewhat inconvenient, minimal recycling, & I just can't seem to shake my most recent visit. Service: I felt silly when I realized the stamp cards were right in front of me after ordering a second time, and then realized I hadn't been offered one for either order. My first drink was decided for me in a to go cup, my second decided for me for here. When first ordering and asking about pre-sweetened teas the barista offered no insight, only stating, "Yeah, yeah they are already sweetened. Sorry." When I recalled previously having been told their drinks are made with less sugar than other nearby spots, she replied "Yeah, I would agree they are a little less sweet." I couldn't understand why I had to prompt her for all the service I did receive, and what I didn't prompt (a stamp card, whether my drink was for here or to-go, etc) was decided for me. After I ordered, she asked if I wanted sugar with that. Lol (Side note - I know that's prob a thing they always do, but I just mentioned preferring the least possible amount of added sugar, and it wasn't even like "we usually offer cinnamon & sugar too, in case you'd like some?" Just straight up "cinnamon & sugar with that?" Lol) Conversation: she seemed put off by the idea of healthy concepts reaching beyond cultural norms to inspire the masses (essentially implying an unjust fad of interest & rising popularity in the practice of modalities that promote a state of health or wellbeing). She used her education in Ayurveda as a crutch to support an ill-conceived approach to my love for Golden Milk & Masala Chai lattes (if you've never had it, a well crafted one is a must try )! Made me feel like "who do I think I am for recently discovering an amazingly delicious & healthy drink that's actually been around in other countries for centuries?!" Ya know? I realized she was not only lacking in customer service skills but in the ability to show her authenticity. After I ordered a second drink from her (which she was actually friendlier for, unfortunately still just as unhelpful) I realized I had no desire to return. RR still has charm! Before I left I stopped to recycle the sleeve, a seemingly much happier gentleman helped me from at the register this time. At least there was a genuine smile before I left! read more

HUGE props to Rogue Roasters for Doing the Right Thing. This a.m., my Hubster went in for coffee, and the man behind him wanted a cup, too. The man was NOT wearing a mask, and got belligerent when told by first the woman working the counter, and then, the manager, that per: the Oregon governor's order, he HAD to wear a mask inside or couldn't be served. The manager also told him that he was welcome to get his coffee via the drive-through, he didn't have to wear a mask for this. Instead, the man told the manager that he would never do business with Rogue Roasters again, and at that point, escorted the man out. My husband had an extra new and clean mask in his car and offered it to this man -- who refused. So, please, support local businesses like Rogue Roaster who are following public health mandates. This is our very first coffee pit stop on our road trip up to Portland - we actually ended up driving to their old location only to find out that they had to very recently moved to a newer place. I was surprised that no one had updated the Yelp listing so I submitted the change myself after finding out their address - the girl at the cash register didn't even know their own address because they had literally just opened a couple of days before! I don't consider myself an espresso snob at all since I always take A LOT of sugar (syrup or flavoring) in my latte, but my husband is very legit when it comes to espresso. Passing thru from Long Beach, CA to Seattle, WA. Everything in Grants Pass was closed on Sunday but we needed coffee before starting our last leg to Seattle. This place delivered. Added an extra shot to each drink. Hot latte, iced soy latte, and a iced mocha. All were hella good. Nice and strong, not too milky. The staff is super nice, they have an actual roaster in store. My husband is a coffee snob, and where we live there is no shortage of artisan coffee shops (Portola, Stumptown, Intelligentsia, Blue Bottle, Keane). We've been around the block and know a good place when we go to one. With that said, my husband just idolizes Rogue Roasters. So much so, that we actually order whole beans from here, pay $18 for shipping 3 pounds worth to where we live in Orange County, rather than go someplace by us. We even end up saving money despite the cost of shipping. The upcharge in So. Cal for good beans is intense. You really have to have a monthly budget for your coffee, but Rogue Roasters allows us to maximize our coffee budget without compromising on quality and taste. Win win! read more

Rogue Roasters is where it's at as far as coffee in Josephine Coffee is concerned. Their coffee is tasty and decently priced, and their tea choices are plentiful. I don't mess too much with hot drinks that aren't coffee or tea, but from what I've heard other people say, they nail those too. It would be cool if they had some more little food choices though. I only drink coffee in the morning but when I stumbled upon Rogue Roasters during my road trip​, I had to try their coffee after seeing a huge roasting room in the back. To be honest, I definitely didn't expect such a wonderfully crafted coffee in this small town. Having lived in NYC, LA and many cities in Europe, I can be picky when it comes to a great cup of coffee. Plus, their super friendly staff is definitely a plus. Every year around Christmas time, I usually buy a lot of lbs of whole bean coffee to give to family and friends. I enjoy their coffee, I respect their set up. Last year, I got things from them via online. This year I was going to do the same. they were selling 3 lbs of coffee for $12/bag with the option of picking up at the store. I figured that the online price and the store price would be the same, since the website did not say otherwise of a price a difference. I go to the store I purchase 9 lbs and was charged $14/bag. I brought it up and the guy cheerfully/condescendingly said that there is a difference in the online and in-store (even though you can pick up online orders with the reduced price) and there's nothing he was going to do about it. I was shocked at the response, and that this guy was willing to lose a customer over $18.00. As an individual I know I am not a big part of this company's business, regardless, I am not coming back here again, you're not the only roasters around. If the company continues down this trajectory of not caring for it's customers, there will be more and more individuals like me. Also the fact that they are willing to charge MORE to their own community than online, is crazy. read more
