Jasmine milk tea was too milky for our preference
    Christine L.

Needed our boba fix after a long day of driving so we stopped by here based on the high reviews. We got the honey milk tea and jasmine milk tea. Both were way too milky without the tea flavor: Their actual boba was perfect though, slightly sweet and perfectly chewy. If they brewed stronger tea and less milk it would be perfect.

Macha, milk, tea, coffee... This place has it all. The menu offers a wide range of drinks. The space is modern and clean. There's plenty of full inside seating to hang out and chat. I did not order anything on this trip... too full. Friendly baristas. Casual. Please come and create your own adventure.

I love this boba house! Located on the Ashland downtown strip, Matcha Boba House is the cutest spot to stop. The baristas always seem to be in a good mood, and they all seem like friends, which I really appreciate. They come up with really fun seasonal specials that are so creative and delicious! If you visit on the weekend, you'll find a lot of people hanging out at the shop, enjoying the adorable ambiance. They even have a shelf full of board games so you can play while sipping your boba. My advice is to always ask the baristas for their favorite recommendation--it never disappoints! They also have the most adorable merch featuring their mascot, the Match Panda. If you're into supporting local brands, their sweatshirts are a must-have. Definitely recommend!

Cheers to all you need to fill your cravings....I do!

Mission accomplished! Introduced my incredibly inquisitive friend to her very first boba at Matcha Boba in Ashland, and it was a revelation! Not only are the flavors wonderfully nuanced and the boba texture perfectly chewy, but seriously, every single person working there makes you feel so welcome and genuinely happy to see you. It's truly a full-sensory, happy experience! I think its time for another Boba drink...these are the best in Southern Oregon.

Let me preface this by saying I've had lots of boba in Taiwan (where boba originated), all over LA, Seattle, and Portland. I drink boba at least 3 times a week. I had the opportunity to stay in Medford for a month, and after researching boba places in the area, Matcha Boba House seemed to be the best quality and not weirdly Americanized with just slushies and powdered flavors. So the first time I visited, I tried the Black Milk Tea and loved it. Then today, I had to try two drinks, the Lychee Black Tea and the Jasmine Milk Tea. I added brown sugar boba in all drinks, ofc. Boba: on the chewier side and sweet, most likely braised with brown sugar after cooking, which is how it should be. Tea: not exceptional but not horrible. I default to 50% or 25% sweetness on all my boba drinks especially in Oregon, and 25% sweet was perfect for me here. One thing is that they have a bunch of different milk options, which is cool but it's also weird to have milk tea with soy/coconut/oat milk. Most boba places use non-dairy creamer, since most Asians have some degree of lactose intolerance. The boba to tea ratio was also great: I didn't run out of boba before my drink was done. The vibe is modern and cute, with matcha and blush colored chairs and neon signs. There are some board games available to play. This is a good standard for what boba should be. If I were comparing this place against the boba places in big cities, I'd give it 3/4 stars. However, I was so appreciative to have Matcha Boba House while in the Southern Oregon.

We stopped here after ice skating nearby. Great spot. Love that you can choose the level of sweetness. I used to get my daughter boba & never drink it myself until I found places with this option. The big windows are lovely. Staff is helpful & happy to talk you through options if you are familiar.

Taro iced milk tea w/ oat milk, boba, and 75% sweetness
    Emily K.

This place must be new. I had a tarp milk tea with boba with oat milk and 75% sweetness. I enjoyed it and they didn't put in too much ice, so it wasn't watery until the very end. The atmosphere is really cool. I recommend this and will go back.

    Flower Power boba tea. Yum!

This place is adorable! I had the Flower Power boba tea, which is a seasonal special but they should consider adding it permanently. It's honey lavender and rose and the floral accents are so refreshing in the heat! I loved it. The service is great, the shop is a lot of fun and very clean. Love it!

The staff is super lovely, the interior is super cute, and they have a really nice menu with a variety of options. They offer milk alternatives for those who can't, or choose not to, have dairy. They have a stamp card program; and also offer an option to get your cups with a reusable lid where you can bring your cup back and get a discount on your next drink even without a stamp card or a completed stamp card.

I feel a certain kinship with Razia, since her dishes combine spices and flavors that aren't pulled from a cookbook or 3rd party recipe, but purely from her own creative chops, travels and heart. Before diving into her handcrafted chocolate bonbons filled with various creams and ganache (fair trade cacao BTW), I first enjoyed their French toast to prime my sweet-tooth. It comes with three slices of their house-made bread, soaked in an orange blossom custard, finished with a dollop of saffron whipped cream. Other menu items include: Lamb Pilaf with Saffron Rice, Turkish Eggs, Harissa Chicken Crunch, and a unique cardamom-spiced coffee to mention a few. I'll be back to try more! Truth...

The ambiance alone is great for spending time with your bookstore purchases. The service was friendly and quick. It was just the one guy when we were there, making coffees and running into the kitchen to make food. But it didn't take long to get our order. The kids had a steamer and a hot cocoa. They were a little warm for immediate drinking so maybe specify if you want your beverage less than normal hot for kids. The cocoa also had a bit of a cinnamon flavor to it. I thought it was delicious, but if you have a purist cocoa drinker in your party, again, ask! The adults drank drip coffee. It was tasty too! If you are staying in, you will get a ceramic mug, so if you want a paper cup let your barista know. The big win for me was the menu of gluten free pastries! They had regular glutinous things like burritos and quiche that looked tasty but the gluten free!!!! They partner with a bakery in town (sisters sans gluten) to have a variety of offerings. I had a poppyseed muffin, but they had other breads and muffins that all looked good. The offerings change, but I was so excited to see gf options at all. Highly recommend this spot! Also!!! They open at 9 with the bookstore, which is a full hour before the other shops on Main Street. Start your day here. You won't be sorry.
