I drove the entire state of Oregon complaining to my husband that there seemed to be no good drive thru places with tea options. I had given up and when we pulled in for Gas here in Ashland I caught sight of this gem. I walked over and saw an entire handwritten chalkboard line up of herbal tea concoctions. I asked the gal for her suggestions with the flavor palettes I prefer and she descended from the heavens with her own jars of elixir leaves & labels. What sorcery is this? She mixed together two blends for one amazing ice tea and my only complaint in this 5 star review is that her set up is on the side of a freeway when her and her enchanted forest built around her kiosk deserves to be tucked and thriving in the woods. This stand is a little oasis off the freeway with tons of plants - a perfect place to stop for a refresher, and a favorite for locals too! I enjoyed stopping here with my mother during our recent visit through Oregon. We were staying at a nearby hotel and came here for morning coffee before a long drive home. This is a really cute little espresso stand with beautiful vegetation and a cozy patio area to sit and rest/relax at. When we walked up there were a number of cars stopped around the booth. The place looked pretty popular. My mom got a cup of coffee and I got a hot chocolate. I was pleasantly surprised when the cheerful woman behind the counter asked if I wanted milk chocolate or dark chocolate. Dark, of course. Did I want regular milk or organic milk (extra for organic). Did I want it hot or less hot? What was the difference? They heat it less. I don't know how that works, but I asked for less hot and it was ready to drink much more quickly than when I go to other coffee shops. My hot chocolate was very nice - the sweetening tasted a little different than normal sugar, but not strongly so. Pleasantly, I'd say. Perhaps because I had asked for less hot, or because I had not picked up a stirrer to stir my drink, the dregs at the bottom were VERY powerful in terms of chocolate. It surprised even me. I highly recommend more stirring/swishing while drinking. Overall I was very happy with my drink and appreciated the positive and enthusiastic attitude of the woman who helped us. PS my small hot chocolate and my mom's french roast came to a total of only $3.25! (my mom believes there was some kind of discount for her bringing her own beverage container). I really wanted to like this place cause it had a really cool vibe. Both my drinks (strawberry banana smoothie and caramel frappe) didn't taste very good and were pricy. I paid $11 for both. The "smoothie" came from a box and was just blended with half and half, no fresh fruit. Only positive was the frappe was a 4 shot 20 ounce so it did the job of keeping hubby awake. Starbucks prices should have Starbucks taste. read more

Cute little food cart cafe with some outdoor seating. Went here for the first time recently and didn't notice the "Cash Only" sign until after the barista has nearly finished my drink. I wanted to find an ATM nearby, but she asked if I was a local, and if so I could just pay her back sometime. I didn't even have to write my name down or anything! Very kind and a small town approach that I hope works well for her. I lowered my score because the coffee wasn't great, but it's hard to complain about free coffee! I got a large (20 oz, 4 shot) Mexican Mocha, and omfg, I think it was the best coffee I've ever had! I was wary of how cayenne would be in coffee so I'd never ordered one before, but all the different spices blended together beautifully and it wasn't "spicy" at all. The mocha also tasted like actual chocolate (instead of that "mocha" flavoring you get in a lot of places). It tasted rich even though it was regular milk and not cream. Just wish they took venmo or something, instead of cash only. read more

Always stop here on our way through Ashland. When driving from Bay Area to Portland, we like to stay at the Holiday Inn Express, eat dinner (or at least grab beers) from Caldera, and then start our next day at Hot Stuff.
