Driving through Klamath Falls on our way to the airport in Medford to catch our flight home we stopped by Gathering Grounds to for some coffee. We chose this spot because of their stellar reviews, and they did not disappoint. We ordered their horchata cold brew and their banana bread latte (with a hemp milk substitute) which were both on their summer seasonal menu. The horchata was smooth and had great flavors. The banana bread latte was amazing! Easily one of my top 5 lattes I've ever had. The drink was smooth, creamy, and tasted like banana bread in a cup. Gathering Grounds Roastery is a coffee shop in Klamath Falls. We stopped here on a Monday morning and it was not busy. There is good amount of street parking in front. We were greeted upon entering. Staff are friendly and talked us through the seasonal drinks that were available. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are several tables inside and it was quiet, so good for working or studying.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered a Banana Bread Latte and an Horchata Cold Brew to go. Drinks came out quickly and we tried them before heading out. Both were delicious. The Banana Bread Latte tasted like liquid banana bread. It had good banana flavor and the cinnamon added warmth to the drink. I was a bit concerned it would be too sweet with the brown sugar syrup and white chocolate, but it was a good sweetness level. The coffee was smooth and could be tasted even with all the other ingredients added. The Horchata Cold Brew was smooth and refreshing. The cold foam added a nice texture to the drink. Overall, giving Gathering Grounds Roastery a 5/5. Drinks and service are great. Staff are friendly and the ambiance is good for hanging out, studying, or working. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good coffee shop and would visit again when in the area. read more

I stopped in here on a day trip to Klamath Falls. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is small and busy, but I was easily able to find a seat after ordering.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were very friendly and so were the patrons. I ordered a matcha latte with oatmilk and it was delivered to my table in a latte cup within a few minutes of ordering. Unfortunately, the matcha left more to be desired as it had a yellow tint rather than the deeper green I'm accustomed to. My sister and I got this iced chocolate latte drink, and it was made with dark chocolate and milk chocolate, but I wasn't in the mood for dark chocolate, so they accommodated that for me. The barista was super nice and recommended that we try the seasonal special drinks based on the local theater company's current musical production ( Clue). I had the Colonel Mustard latte which had turmeric and butterscotch. It was super delicious, not too sweet but the butterscotch went well with the espresso, which also tasted amazing. The turmeric wasn't super strong, but gave the drink a nice color. My friend got the Professor Peacock which was butterfly pea flower tea with lemongrass and blueberry syrup and vanilla sweet cream. This was our favorite roasters in Klamath Falls with strong espresso, good baked goods made offsite, creative and thoughtful outdoor seating with shade and even a cool drive through alley pick up option. A little limited on alt milk options, just soy or hemp, but the soy drinks we had were so good. I've got a background of having had worked at a really badass coffee shop in Eugene that pursued quality to a fault, I've learned to appreciate how unique and delicious different varieties and roasts can have, and gathering grounds nails it. Try their different coffees, all prices very consumer friendly. Buying their beans whole is fairly priced (pricey) for the quality. Staff is beyond friendly and have made their shop my second home. Just wish they were open on a Sunday, but also good for them for giving their excellent people a well deserved weekend day off. read more

Before the long drive back to Sacramento from Crater Lake, we stopped at this awesome little coffee spot in Klamath Falls. I ordered a salted caramel latte with oat milk and my husband ordered just a classic black coffee. You can tell they use high-quality coffee beans because the flavor and texture of their beverages is spot on. For my first visit, I ordered a cinnamon roll latte and a swiss panini for dining in. The barista brought out my coffee, and it definitely did smell like a cinnamon roll! The sandwich was pretty yummy too, and I saved that half for later on in the day. There was only one guy working when I went there so I'd imagine you'd have to wait a while during busy rush times, but the wait is worth the coffee and drink. I had their honey bee latte during my second visit and enjoyed that drink too. My partner had his cold brew but thought it was a little too bitter, even with cream and cane sugar syrup added. He didn't like the cane sugar syrup either. Perhaps if he had the option to add in his own amount of cream and sugar to his liking then he would have enjoyed it more. I came back here again for another visit and tried their Portland Fog. Didn't exactly taste much from it. My dad got a blue raspberry lime Italian soda without the added cream and liked it; my mom got the matcha latte and didn't like it. We all agreed that the matcha latte didn't have much flavor and taste to it--definitely would've tasted better with some added sweetener to it. Gathering Grounds is right across the downtown square, offers nice indoor seating and outdoor seating, and has a drive through of some sort (or another window for taking orders outside) for those who need it. I visited this place twice during my short stay in Klamath Falls, but I knew one thing, I was stopping to get my coffee for the next trip of the road trip from here. Twice I had a cappucino and I was like "whowee" this is some good stuff. The espresso was unbelievably smooth and rich with overtones of mild chocolate, some nuttiness, and subtle berry flavors. This is by far the best spot for coffee in Klamath Falls - I just wish there was a little more consistency between baristas. Sometimes I'll have a perfect cappuccino that even features some latte art. Other times, the espresso tastes like it was pulled a little too long and there's not enough foam in the milk. At any rate, I am glad that Gathering Grounds is here making a conscious effort to roast coffee well and source single origin beans. The food is also delicious and there's ample study/work space in the cafe. I've always had pleasant interactions with the staff and the wait for drinks and food is reasonable given that it's all lovingly handmade. read more

I am shocked this place has this many good reviews. I came her 3x after I moved to Klamath Falls and was disappointed every time. First, they rarely answer the phone and have a clunky ordering system. Second, when I went with some colleagues, we ordered in person. We ordered three different lattes and every single one of them was lukewarm when we grabbed them. Pretty surprising to get a latte fresh off the espresso machine that was lukewarm. Third, really not much going on foodwise. I tried their croissant sandwich and a friend tried a pesto thing -- they were inedible. Won't be going back. This place is a little gem -- an independent coffee spot with great coffee and friendly staff. We also had a slice of banana bread and a cheesy garlic biscuit. The former was fabulous and the latter was dry and pretty much inedible. Take that off the rotation for sure. Only criticism is that they need a better pastry selection. The only other thing available was a brownie. Some more biscuits came out while we were there, but we had already had a bad experience with the biscuits offering. A word to the wise -- biscuits usually need a slathering of butter to be good, and since you don't have any on offer, skip those. Delicious coffee and food! We stopped by for breakfast takeout, and the baristas went out of their way to be nice and helpful. I have a gluten allergy and need to eat gluten free (GF). Even with a large group ahead of us and during a busy morning, the baristas very helpfully adjusted menu items to accommodate my dietary needs. The pour over and cold brew were delicious. The tasty and well-sourced food was a treat on a long road trip. What a cute little coffee shop in this quaint little town! We were in town for 3 days on vacation visiting from Austin, where the coffee game is pretty strong. But this coffee shop can compete! The lattes were amazing, tasted flavorful and dark and not acidic or watered down at all. Fantastic breakfast menu with a good selection of sandwiches to choose from. I got the breakfast panini twice and it was so yummy!! The prices were fair, the inside seating area is super cute and filled with sunshine, and they have a gorgeous patio seating with a fantastic Mountain View.
