There's a cute little old guy who exclaims "Ah! There's some of my friends!" every time we come in. (And when many other people come in as well.) The first time I ever saw him, he was talking to a middle aged blonde woman who was wearing expensive casual clothes. He was so gushy that I had to work hard to keep my eyes from rolling. As soon as she left, the smile dropped from his face, his voice went to guttural and almost scary, and he let loose with a string of expletives and descriptive phrases that one might hear in a basement before being tortured and killed. It was endearing. It's also the reason I don't give this location five stars-- you might not have found it endearing and I think of this place as his spot. He's part of its charm. I order my food through Uber Eats for pick up. I've done this on multiple occasions at this specific location. And honestly I'm tired of being ignored by the people behind the counter while my food is sitting there ready to be picked up. They have a little area called 'rapid pick up', which they do not use. but my Uber Eats order is normally behind the counter and I am not able to access it. Most times when I come to pick up my order I am standing there waiting to receive my order, even though I can see it ready, sitting behind the counter where they are working. I think only one time an employee asked me what I needed. Most of the time the employees will see I'm standing there waiting, and they will go back to making food or whatever they are doing. How hard is it to ask someone what they're waiting for? Today I waited like 7 minutes before ~I~ asked about my order that was clearly ready and sitting there waiting to be picked up. multiple people walked by behind the counter and not one asked me if I needed anything. I had to ask them, if they had an Uber Eats order for 'name'. The whole point of Uber Eats pick up, is that it's ready when you get there.. the lady who handed me my order seemed annoyed I disturbed her. Recently began testing the unlimited sip club by Panera, this location is my favorite because of how friendly the employees are. They were out of large cups so they just gave me 2 regulars, they were out of lids so the manager pulled them from the back and restocked as I was standing there. I'm always greeted with a smile, the beverages are always full and cold. The location is generally very busy during lunch and yet they still keep it very clean. read more

Stop in after running a few errands. This is only my 2nd time eating here at Paneras. They have like mini laptops where you can place your order take a buzzer and find a table. After your order is ready the waiter brings your food to the table. Nice The wait wasn't long but the prices are overrated just for a cold sandwich soup and cookie. I do not frequent Panera Bread, but stopped in for a quick bite. You can order at a kiosk or step up to the counter. We went up to the counter, placed our order, and were given a gizmo with a number and someone brings your order. We were there about 11ish and could not find a clean table to sit at. I did not see anyone cleaning tables and I almost went to the counter to ask if someone could come out to clean, but we picked the least crumb covered table we could find and cleaned it ourselves. There is a little sign on the table that says if your order is not correct, they will promptly fix it and even give you a "little treat". Fortunately, ours was correct. I was just disappointed that it was not clean so it was difficult to find a place to sit. read more

This location is convenient to me and I visit often enough. While I have no food or service concerns (the staff is fine), the unit is very dirty. It just is. The men's room gets little to no attention and I don't understand why. By the way, COVID and weaker revenues have nothing to do with my observations. It's been like this for a long time. It takes ongoing care and attention in hospitality to keep everything looking good but it's not that difficult if cleanliness is valued. As I sit here, I can see under the napkin station and it has not had any attention for a very, very long time. It's really pretty dirty. I could go on but I won't. All I'd really like is for someone in leadership to read this, see what I see and begin a cleanliness campaign and retrain the team and night cleaners on cleanliness. I do NOT know why I decided to give this location another chance. I ordered a BBQ flatbread for rapid pick up. Went in and got the bag that said my name along with my items - bbq chicken flatbread and chips. I got to work, opened the bag to find a cup of mac and cheese and bread. SO irriating. I had to leave work AGAIN to get my food. When I got to Panera there was another bag with my name on it. I checked it, it was correct so I left. I didn't want to spend anymore time away from work trying to deal with their managment. Food great. Prices high. Normally services ok but had a very rude person today. I called in my order and paid for with my credit card. when I got there - waited 10 minutes and asked. They said have no record of your order and implied I called the wrong store. I used a Panera account and provided a credit card receipt and she still would not offer to help. Apparently the order taker took down the wrong name that was different than my credit card name and the name I gave her - completely different sound than my name. At the end she handed me my cold food and said it was not their fault. Very rude, no apology and no offer to make things right of course. I've been to this location about 3 times, they are slower and incompetent. Out of the 3 times I visited, my orders were wrong. My receipt (which you do have to ask for, otherwise they don't give you one) had the correct items & sides, but when I picked up my order it was not accurate. I ordered two small soups w/ bread for sides, they gave me chips...I don't like their chips. They also charged me for a whole sandwich when I ordered a 1/2 sandwich. I am amazed at the 4- and 5-star reviews for this place. Maybe good for carryouts, but.... I was at the Westchester location for lunch on Friday, 9/13, and was disgusted once again. (Just an unlucky day? I think not.) I think I'm done with Panera - at least for eating in. My chief complaint: Why can't they keep the tables wiped clean? (BTW, this is a recurring problem in every Panera I've visited, not only this one.) I always feel like Niles from the "Frasier" TV show - having to wipe down everything around me before I sit down to dine. Greasy tabletops, and the floor was filthy with crumbs and a fallen napkin here and there. I interpret this as lack of care for the customer and a lack of pride in the environment. I have no complaints about Panera's food quality (though I think they're on the cusp of overpriced for comparable fare elsewhere), and I'll endure the occasional distracted service for a good take-out meal or good take-away loaf of well-baked bread or bagels. But I'm done with dining in - unless my home wifi is out and I have no other option. This was not a good day for Panera, or me, for that matter. One of the things Panera has that I love is their Mediterranean veggie sandwich on tomato basil bread. It's got tang, it's got feta, it's healthy. It's a great choice and my taste buds were aiming for it. I happened to be going from point a to point b and picked this location. Well, I learned: location, location, location. I ordered without a hitch, the girl at the counter was pleasant, and the place was not super busy. As I waited for my food, I found my iced tea of choice was empty, as was the 2nd choice iced tea, as was the 3rd choice iced tea. After giving a heads up to the staff at the front, I was told it would have to be brewed. Dropping the ball on 3 tea carafes, so not good. So I got my money back for the tea: I was on the clock. When I received my beloved sandwich, I found it to be the wrong sandwich entirely. I returned and was handed the bag of another customer who also had opened up his, or my sandwich, and I was supposed to give him mine. Talk about a horrible allergic reaction. After dropping my sister off at O'Hare. My dad asked to stop at Panera. He wanted soup, but I knew they didn't serve that so early. I ordered 2 bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches. A strawberry smoothy for my dad and iced tea for myself. We dined in. When I headed back to drop my dad off, my throat felt funny. By the time I got to my place. My throat was scratchy and my tongue was swollen. I took 2 benadryls. My boyfriend was worried. I woke up 7 hours later. Feeling better but groggy. When I am in the mood for Panera, I usually go to the one on La Grange Road in La Grange Park. As it is usually crowded during lunch, my freind and I decided to give this one a shot. Each Panera has a slightly different spin, but one thing that is positive about the chain is the food is generally fresh and of good quality. The menu is large enough so that you can have a little variety, but not so overwhelming so that you have trouble deciding what to have. There were a number of salads, sandwiches and soups to choose from as well as a half and half combination (Pick two of sandwich, soup or salad). I had the Italian Combo sandwich with chips, and my freind had chicken noodle soup and chicken ceasar salad. As usual, the portions were plentiful, and fresh. My sandwich was too large to eat in one sitting so I ate half of it along with the kettle fried chips that accompanied them. My freind enjoyed her soup and salad. The sandwich consisted of fresh french bread, salami, cheese, lettuce and a yellow sauce which my guess is a blend of mayonnaise, mustard and a spice I couldn't identify. The thing that knocked this place down a one star is that the cook staff seemed a bit confused. They got our order wrong at first but immediately corrected it without complaint. Great service and clean place. We are regulars here and the place works like a machine. Long lines are served pretty quickly. My kids and I have dietary restrictions and the staff always helps us properly. I love their staff and the location. I feel they keep it too cold all the time so i have to drag my kids in with the promise of their favourite snack. Warm people please bump up the temperature. They need to get it together! I Love Panera Bread but this location is terrible! The last three times I've ordered they've gotten the order wrong and forgot to put an item in my bag last time. I did call and they said "Oh Yeah, we found the bag sitting behind the counter". They did send me a credit for that bagel and cream cheese for the exact amount of $2.50. Note to self Panera: If you guys screw up maybe add a few bucks to the credit for my inconvenience. I got home and didn't have my bagel! I've learned to check my bag at McDonalds before I leave but it is also a third of what I pay here so it's expected there shouldn't be these types of mistakes so often. The thing is that if it happens to me that often how many others are there? Last time I called my order in and arrived in the time I was told, paid for my order and then stood in front of the counter waiting for another 10 minutes. All the while wondering why I bothered calling it in ahead of time. People who came in after me received their food and then I was the only one standing there. The people behind the counter started talking so I finally asked them where my order was (you would have thought if they saw me standing there and thought they had no other orders they would have asked me if I needed something) They both look at each other and said I thought you filled that order. Really........... Well my bagel was finished on time so by now 25 minutes later from when it was called in it is cold and hard. Everytime I come in there they look like they are lost back there. Maybe the Manager needs to be supervising a little better. I am usually happy with the product at Panera Bread. I have an issue with this specific location. I bought a soufflé, cinnamon roll and a coffee and am a rewards member. They don't serve any non-dairy creamer which is not usually an issue as they just give me a little bit for my coffee. The manager of this location, when I asked him for some, said they had to charge me. That is one way to turn away any future business. It was such a dismissive answer it was very disappointing.
