Terrible service. Cashier Alondra was very rude. Argued with me. All I wanted was turkey & bacon on a panini. First they said they can't make that. Don't know why & the ingredients are in house. Then they charge me $13. Manager Kevin ( I believe ) was rude & yelled that I need to pick a sandwich! Called back & got Kevin on the phone & he remembered who I was. So I've never had panera until about 2 months ago and wow. I try to eat healthy so i opted for the smoked turkey with light mayo & mustard. Everything on that sammich was yummyyyyy and the bread was oh so soft. The reason they don't get the full 5 stars is because of the sodium in the turkey. Bad bad bad! A co-worker and I went here for lunch today, and BOTH of our orders were inaccurate when we got back to the office! I received a cup of soup instead of the bowl I paid for, and no croutons on my salad when I asked for extra croutons. And after that, we both tried calling and speaking with a manager today and it took almost 2 hours before we got through and were not hung up on. My co-worker was also left on hold/forgotten about for 11 minutes after she finally talked to someone and they asked her to "please hold." This is the 5th time in the last few months that orders from people at our office were messed up. We're getting very frustrated and likely won't be back. read more

After reading the other reviews on this Panera I don't feel so bad about writing this one. I normally like Panera. They are a bit overpriced, but I like their Cobb salad. I went in on a Friday around 8:00 a.m. to get bagels for my job, a bakers dozen. First, it was only 8 am & most of the bagels were gone & the selection was horrible. Second, the bagels were just thrown in a bag, no offer to slice or toast them. Never again will I order more than one bagel at Panera if that is how they present it to customers. Sooooo Sloooow. Panera, you work so hard to get all the tech things right you forget the importance of the basics.

I usually go to the Panera Bread in Downers Grove, but I was in a hurry to get to work and this one is closest to my house. I ordered the usual - the Kale salad with extra chopped tomatoes, cucumbers and Parmesan cheese. I was surprised and I upset at the same time. I ordered the half portion, and I ended up receiving and almost whole portion. I like that they are very generous with their portions! What I didn't like was the slow customer service. I ordered and paid ahead of time (rapid pick up) so I wouldn't have to wait once I get there. I had to wait and I was upset because I didn't want to be late for work. Why have rapid pick up if I can't just grab my food and go like the Downers Grove location? When I finally got my salad, I got wedge tomatoes, not chopped like I ordered them. Anyone that knows me knows that I'm very picky with my food. I still love the salad and generous portion sizes, but their customer service can use room for improvement. 4 stars just because the portions are generous. read more

Your typical Panera store, they've added some new menu options. I had the mac and cheese, which I thought was a little pricy for such a small portion- over $4.50!!! The chipotle panini was good, with chicken, bacon and a chipotle sauce, but the bread was a little under toasted, so it was pretty limp and soggy by the time I got home. The staff was friendly and was communicating well together, but this meal was not worth the $10+ it cost. Thank goodness I had a gift card! read more

Quick breakfast today after weighing and out to shop....So the gf and I sprinted to the closest place to get some coffee and an above average bagel. Panera's coffee is consistent and always hot and fresh. MY only complaint would be there terrible paper cups could be better. As for breakfast, I had the whole grain bagel and peanut butter, while the gf had a breakfast panini w/ bacon, egg, cheddar on an asiago bread. It must have been good for I blinked and it was gone! The quality of the lunches is far from great. Last 2 times I ordered lunch I was dissatisfied, the tuna sandwich had less than 1/4 cup of tuna with wilted lettuce on too much bread. This last time I ordered a whole Greek Salad to go and it was okay in flavor but lacked in quantity; 2 quarters slices of cucumber, slices of red onion that included the onion skin, 2 olives. My most recent trip to Panera was very disappointing, because of the lack of warm in the brief service interaction. The question is " how could you fumble something simple as a pastry pick up?" Here is how! I arrived at approximately 5:45AM 4/13/2018 I arrived at the location there were several employees there in pastry section none of whom even bothered to greet or acknowledge my presence. Strike 1!!! Next, I understand hey some people aren't Morning ppl I greeted the young lady Chelsea with a smile and a GOOD MORNING!!! She looks at me doesn't return the greeting and asked " Did you want something?" Obviously I was dealing with Val Kilmer a REAL GENIUS. Strike 2 Finally I pay for the order and what did she say at the completion of the transaction, you guess it nothing, Strike 3. I can only assume the now hiring sign in the window is meant to replace her. This is how a simple 3-5 minute transaction could be fumbled. Horrible customer service. The bad service has happened more than once. I've never given a bad review but today I just had to. We went into Panera and ordered through the kiosk. Waited to get our food. The girl whose name I don't know, approached us with our food. We said thank you and then i told her we had also ordered a blueberry muffin and a brownie. She replied with an attitude saying "I only have 2 hands!". This really bothered my husband and I. We didn't give her a bad attitude at all. I only asked her because they've forgotten to give us our bakery goods in the past. I feel like this wasn't the way for her to respond. I wasn't able to enjoy my food after this. Blueberry muffin was hard and old. Smoothie was terrible . Not made right like other locations

I have gone to this Panera a number of times and have had okay service, never something that truly bother me. However, today was different. I ordered an online pick up order and noticed first I was missing my smoothie, ok no problem will ask. Then I see that the side item I ask to be chips not a yogurt was not switched and it states that switch on the receipt. Anyways I ask about the strawberry banana smoothie and they first snatch my receipt off my bag to make sure I am not lying and then say they have no bananas with a big attitude. They finally go and make me a different smoothie, unhappy to that fact. They give me an attitude for the chips and went into my bag grabbed the yogurt and dropped the chips. I felt very uncomfortable and did not appreciate the attitude from the whole staff. I like Panera I am a rewards member, this is one Panera I will not be visiting again. Please talk to your employees on how to handle these situations better, and not make it seem like the customer is a big hassle or the issue. read more

All Panera's are not created equal. As soon as I walked in Rosie the riveter grabbed me and squeezed the order out of me. That was great. Then I waited for my food with the other 10 people? There really wasn't a lot going on as it was 20 to twelve and the place wasn't busy yet. There were 5 tards behind the counter screwing things up. Only two people were actually making the food. The other three were looking at the screen putting the wrong food on the right plates. Then they would yell out your name. I felt like I was in a cafeteria. Then I tried to get a napkin. There condiment station was in a cove so only one person could be using it at a time. Well, that person was an employee and she was taking her time farting around filling the straws. Lets see. I ordered two BBQ Chicken Flatbreads. After waiting about 10 minutes, a lady in the kitchen called my name and told me they only had one piece of flatbread left and that I would need to choose another type of bread. Because I ordered two full flatbreads this meant that I needed to choose bread for 3 out of the 4 flatbreads. Well a flatbread is not flatbread if it is not served on flatbread. This was very disappointing and the lady who informed me was not even the slightest bit apologetic. I was also embarrassed because there were several other people standing there waiting for their orders. I ended up getting them on honey wheat bread. When you are expecting flatbread, this is just not the same. Also, if would have been nice if they had offered me a discount or how about even a free cookie and an apology from the manager? The problem that I have with this location is that they always seem to be out of bread, focaccia to be more specific. I don't get it, they bake their own bread, for God sake , why don't they bake some extra? I live around this area, and 80% of the times they are out of focaccia and they try to replace it with other kind of bread; it just doesn't work for me . Took 25 minutes to get a cup of soup and a half a sandwich. After 20 minutes, asked the manager for a refund, who acknowledged me, so I know she heard me, but then she continued to ignore me. When still trying to get the managers attention, they finally called me for my food, which ended up tasting so bad that I only took one bite of the sandwich. It was my first time ever in a panera bread and I loved it. I had some problems with the self serve machine that was taking my order, my friend who had trouble with his ordered cancelled it and went up to the counter to order. By the time he paid I was still waiting for it to process the order and pay. I ordered the pick 2 combo (mac& cheese and bbq chicken salad) plus a role, a mocha Frappe and a brownie for dessert. My friend and I were waiting for almost 10 minutes we didn't mind it so much since we were talking but as soon as I got my order the gentleman that brought me it asked if I needed anything else, I got everything but my role and brownie ( I was looking forward to it) and told me he had replaced the role with a different bread and was willing to replace my brownie with anything else, so I chose a different item. He came back shortly with my other dessert and a refund for those 2 item. I was actually very satisfied with how he handled the error and very satisfied with the food! :D read more

I like Panera Bread but this location is the worst! I went there the other day and had a soup and sandwich. There were fruit flies flying around the place. The cashier was looking around and didn't ask me what I wanted until I gave her this "look". She finally took my order. I didn't want to get the pastry at that time so I told her that I'd have it after my meal. Once I was done eating I went to the counter to ask for the pastry. She said the brownie accidentally fell from the dish onto the counter and asked me if I still wanted it. I was disgusted with the thought even though she claimed that the counter was clean. I declined the offer and decided on a different pastry. Long story short, I ate the pastry. A few hours later my stomach was grumbling so much I got sick. I never write reviews but I felt I needed to in this case. A Friend and I from my office go here once a week and I have to say the NICEST staff I've ever met! From the manager, Erik to the people who bring the food to the table for you. Sonia specifically is one of the sweetest and most helpful people you'll ever meet! They know how to treat people and they work hard. Every time I'm there I see them cater to people with special needs, old people, children...even belligerent ones and I've never seen them have a bad attitude even once. My co-workers and I went here for lunch. I love their Autumn Squash soup and Fuji Apple Salad and it was delicious as usual. My co-worker wasn't as fortunate, her soup had a hair in it (which can happen). The employee who she told should be commended on the professional and caring manner she handled the situation. My co-worker received a new soup, yet had lost her appetite. I work in food service and employee's hair should be netted or pulled into a tight pony tail or bun. What's the purpose of the baseball cap if their hair is hanging everywhere. read more

I love this Panera location as I frequent it often, but today was the worst experience there I've ever had. I spent my whole lunch (almost) waiting on a half salad and chocolate chip cookie. I do go to lunch during the midday lunch rush so I usually prepare to spend at least 20 min waiting on my food which I've never spent more than 7-8 min waiting. Today I literally spent 45 min waiting for a half salad that I could have made myself. Everyone was upset but I can't lie when I walked in it was jam packed so I went straight to the selfpay kiosk as I always do. I just want to say that I usually see a guy behind the counter when I'm there and I didn't see him today until about five min before I got my order. When I say Chris was a god send I mean it! I never knew his name but as soon as he got there the orders were coming up quick and fast! I am so glad they have an amazing employee like him and they should definitely make sure they keep him because he is literally the reason why I walked out with my food today. I almost canceled my order 3 times but as soon as I saw him I knew it wouldn't be much longer LOL! Keep up the great work Chris read more
