This location reopened about a year ago under new management. New management has run it into the ground. My sub was not good, tables dirty and they charged me .35 cents for tap water? WTF. This location is under new management and you'll see the difference as soon as you walk through the door. It's cleaner, brighter and doesn't smell like spoiled food like before. I ordered my sub and it even looked better than before everything looked fresh and very tasty. After one bite I now see what I've been missing in a great tasting sub. The guy in this Mr. Sub (I think it's just this one guy...all the time), works harder than anyone at any 'real' Sub-Shop than I've ever seen. (I won't even mention those pre-fab suck-holes...Quiznos or Subway) He makes every sub as if HE was the one that was going to be eating it. He puts a lot of care & Love into every sandwich he makes, and it really shows! An Italian 12" with a cup of Giardinere on the side (no extra $), and you're really good to go! First time I've finally got to try a Mr. Submarine and wow... tasty. Went there with my aunt for a bite since we were in the area. The restaurant was pretty clean over all. I think the only reason it might *seem* a bit dingy is because the building looks like it's been around for a while. Didn't stop us from walking in though. Since I've never been to a Mr. Submarine before I just got the sub with the name on it... I figure ya can't go wrong with that. The Mr. Submarine was delicious, just the right amount of everything on it. Bread was good, nothin fancy or anything but, nice 'n soft with good texture. I got to try some of the Tuna Sub, also pretty good too. Oh there's also some Arcade games - Cruisin' the World, The Simpsons and a Monopoly Pinball game too. Not sure why delivery person didn't even ring the bell i later looked at cameras to find the delivery guy just dropped it on porch food was sitting there for almost 20 minutes. I used to frequent Mr. Submarine on 26th St. in the 1990's when my dad lived a block from it. I always got the King-sized "Mr. Sub" and an order of cheese sticks. These days I think Mr. Sub is just okay. It's cheap and filling, but you can find a better sandwich elsewhere. I think the reason I liked going here is not only was the chow consistent, but I found it amusing that no matter what time of day you go, the same fuckin' dude would be working the counter. He'd take your order, make your sammich, take your cash and thank you for your business. I went back this year and the same dude took my order, made my sammich, took my cash and thanked me! Sure, it takes a teensy bit more time than it would at other Mr. Subs, but you can entertain yourself with the tantalizing posters on the wall: a cheese stick with a plaid sport coat and pompadour, with the caption, "If you think used car salesmen are cheesy, wait till you try our cheese sticks!" And an Alice in Wonderland themed ad for breaded mushrooms: "Create your own wonderland with our breaded mushrooms!" I was here here today with my girlfriend and this young Hispanic kid was working there today and serviced us really well, the only bad thing is which has nothing to do with him is he was the only one there so he had to answer the phone and he was on the phone with another customer and I feel since I was there first in person that the customer that is there physically should be serviced first and not ignored while taking a call from a customer who only calls , this customer on the phone should have to wait until I'm done and out of the store and then this kid can take the call but this kid told me that his boss wants him to do that and that is bad business and many other customers won't tolerate this and walk out. I rate many restaurants and retail stores and the physical customers always comes first cause they are the ones that took the time to go there in person ! If the phone people can't go there in person then they just have to wait to be serviced anyways. These are work ethics that this owner should learn. As a senior advisor for Tripadvisor I rate this business 5 stars cause of this worker being young but doesn't understand this yet but he was great with his service to me and he was very kind and patient with me and my girlfriend and even the idiot on the phone . read more

I have to say I don't stray very far from my turkey sub and fries when ordering there but between my friends and I, I have tried a few different sandwiches and everything's good. Great place to get a sub at a low price. Even though you do not waste a lot of money, employees there make sure to get the best out of your money. Fresh cut fries are the best there. I was even surprised they still had green river around (one of my favorite drinks). I've lived in the area and have never seen this small business. the 2 Hispanic employees are fenomenal and they treat you like at home. Great conversationalists. This has to be the worst Mr. Submarine shop I've ever been to. I have been there years before and always thought that the cheese fries and nachos need some serious re-thinking. The sandwiches are fine, not much different from the other shops but when you're looking to go there for a meal and want an order of fries and a cup of cheese with it, forget about it. The fires are greasy and lack all crispyness. They're limp, julienne sliced potato sticks that have more oil in them than flavor. The cheese for the fries and nachos is so watered down. My sandwich was made exactly as requested each time and the customer service was top notch. Classic subs. I used to live nearby about 20 years ago and I was a regular. I moved out of the neighborhood, so this was my first time back in about 5 years. Still the same, if not better!
