The food is decent. We got a few plates which came with pickles (wayyy too salty), fries, and a drink. The meat itself was ok, not dry and decent seasoning (some were a little saltier than others). The entrance of this restaurant shares the entrance of the bakery next door. The restaurant is bright with a few tables to eat in. The staff were patient with me as I decided. I received a sample of the lentil soup which was good. I ordered the lunch special which included rice, salad, steak shawarma, a falafel, chicken kabob along with pita bread. Everything was delicious! I especially loved the steak and falafel. I had a side of hummus which is outstanding! Very creamy! My husband tried the gyro and thought it was good. They offered a free chicken (or steak) schwarma sandwich, so I put it on my list of errands. I parked on the street. (It's Cermak in Berwyn so you'd want to be headed west and it's on the north side of the street.) Same door as a bakery(tempting). It's wide open, very clean and the people who work there are happy to see you. I tried the 6 pieces of falafel and the pomegranate Bavaria drink. Both very nice. Interesting-the difference in schwarma presentation. Some places give you like a softball shaped portion. This was a long wrap with pickle and a sort of a mayo? I bright it all home and I am completely stuffed. I'd definitely go back for the veg platter as I'm kinda more veg-forward these days but this is a fine place and you should check them out. read more
