Been here a few times and never again. The drive through speaker system is probably from 1970 and I guess doesn't work so well. Tried placing an order 3 times and repeating the order items several times to no avail. Guy says ok drive up. Get to the window and he says I can't hear through the speaker system. Why have a drive through if it doesn't work? The guy gets testy and forget that! Customer service in this economy should be the number 1 priority and the guy working the drive through has ZERO customer service skills. This place is the epitome of traditional conservatism and stubborness. They actually have pretty good food. What messes it up is their persistence in their "special" gyro sauce. I know that there are SOME people who like it. But most opinions I have gotten from people I know do not like it. I am not at all a fan of the sweet, miracle whip garlic gyro sauce. At least give an option to have the traditional ziki sauce. That sweet stuff really turns a gyro into dessert. I love their hot dogs and polishes. Landed at Midway and needed to get a quick bite before my 1:00pm meeting. Arrived at 11:45 and their were a few people eating. Ordered the cheeseburger plain and a side of onion rings. The onion rings were pretty good. When they called my order, I went and got my food and sure enough my cheeseburger had everything on it. Took all the crap off the burger and it was OK. Normally if I have an order that is messed up I would have them re-cook my order. Pressed for time, I ate my burger and left. Also, the Balkava on the counter looked like it has been sitting in the display case for a while. Was in town visiting family & my cousin recommended picking up food here since we all had a taste for gyros. Should have went somewhere else when I found out early on their gyro plate dinners only give you 1 pita. (most places give 2) Portion sizes were small for what you pay. I ordered an extra pita, which was folded and wrapped in paper, and got it confused with a wrapped-up sandwich, which is a measure of how tiny it was. Not sure if its just me, but every gyro place I've patronized, its always structured as a pile of meat slices in the center of the Styrofoam parcel, either fries/onion/tomato slices/cucumber sauce in the side pockets and pita(s) under neath the top lid. Instead, my container, already dripping out, which smelled like salad vinegar, contained an already-assembled sandwich with just 6 slices of chicken gyro meat, which looked like it came from the freezer than a spit, and some Greek salad concoction, which was larger than the sandwich. I would have ordered an individual gyro sandwich if I wanted one already made. Never have I felt so jipped for $9.69 (I think was the price). The cucumber sauce also tasted off and had a watery consistency to it. They also shorted us a sandwich. It was pretty much their word against mine over the phone (think they might have confused an extra pita ordered as one of the sandwiches, since they folded it like a full sandwich). Typical hot dog, gyro, burger place with some longevity in the neighborhood. I do wish their gyros were better because I LOVE gyros! The meat was soooo greasy and wiggly and the sauce didn't taste like the usual cucumber sauce...it was slightly sweet for some reason which really threw me off...and subsequently turned me off. I was going to blame the reason why I don't come here often on Jewel-Osco being right next door, but the food is just okay. I haven't found that item that made them special from this typical neighborhood spot as it's about four in the area. This isn't my closes one so I end up passing it most of the time. the few times I went out the way to come here I would get the pizza puff special I think on Wednesday but that's was because the special was really cheap lol If I went in there now most likely I would get a gyro but couldn't tell you why they stand out from the rest. read more

I swung by here twice already and it's been fairly hit or miss. YP doesn't get a solid flow of people, just a dribble. I was the only one in here my first time which was strange since it was dinner time and it felt like all the staff was watching me scarf down a sloppy gyro and a shake. The second time was a little bit more typical with some high schoolers coming in ordering fries and just talking loudly. Gyros = sloppy and bland. I didn't think it was possible for a gyro to be so....dry? Hot Dogs = Weren't the best, and most definitely, not the worst. Shakes = The only thing pulling this rating up. They were good. Not thick but not too milky. Had great consistency for the ten minutes I was there. Would I swing back here? If the Jewel next door has a Chef's Kitchen, nope. A Chicago Dog done right and great fries. This place is nothing to look at but they still actually use a cucumber spear on a true Chicago dog which even Portillo's has abandoned due to cost. I noted a quick shake of celery salt on top of the toppings which included the little sport peppers. Fries are always made fresh and are quite hot and tasty. I tried the taco (not so much) had a real bitter hot sauce to it. No me gusta Pretty cold and sterile to eat in. No circuses to be sure. Bathroom is out back and I think you need a key. When it was run by a Greek gentlemen they had a pretty good pork kabob (souvlaki). I will have to go back and try that again. If you need a serviceable dog and fries for a little over $3 give it a try. They have a drive through as well. read more

This place has been around forever & for good reason! Screw the gyros if you come here, get THE burger!!! I grew up in Westchester & whenever Im nearby I make sure to drive thru for a burger meal. Orders take a little longer because they're actually making your food! Its not already made warming under a heat lamp! These are some of the best fries I've had anywhere- golden crinkle-cut & crispy! The burgers are char-broiled & they put the freakin best sauce on them I've ever tasted!!!! no joke, I can't get enough of this stuff. its got mayo, ketchup, & a little tangy spiciness to it. The big signs out front state that Gyros sandwiches are their speciality. Wrong. They are the worst I've ever tasted. The "meat" is chicken, which isn't that bad I guess but the sauce is Mayo with a spice in it like Oregano or Cilantro. Very disappointed when we thought we were getting an authentic sandwich. At any rate, this place has been in Westchester forever. We don't have a ton of restaurants in town to choose from, although downtown La Grange is right down the road. This place is good for gyros, burgers, fries, hot dogs, and the like. The Souvlaki is really tasty, as is the Greek style chicken breast. The one downside is that the drive-thru takes forever, but at least you know the food is fresh and made-to-order. read more

The food was terrible, I ordered the #3 Gyros meal (fries and drink with it). The gyros meat was super oily compared to my least favorites places in Greek Town. The taste was sweet! Apparently some weird mix of cucumber sauce and sugar. Each bite was nasty and offensive. I would stay far away from this place.
