You CAN go home again! This was our go to after party spot when I was just just a kiddo and the butter garlic fries are as good as I remembered.

I came across this sub shop for the first time when driving in that area. The old school sign caught my attention and saw it was founded in 1985. I thought what better than a sub from a place solid enough to be open 40 years. And boy was I right! Super fresh ingredients, the perfect ratio of everything (I had the Depth Charge with everything plus mustard), and their bread is absolutely delicious! Everyone in there was friendly and helpful with me trying to decide on what to order. I wish there were more mom & pop sub shops like this everywhere so folks would STOP ordering from places like Jimmy John's, for example (if only everyone who orders from there would realize they're also supporting a disgusting man who grins ear to ear poaching endangers animals and throwing millions of dollars at Trump...) SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES and enjoy the taste of a REAL sub sandwich like this place makes! I'll definitely be back soon even though they're a bit of a hike from where I live. It's so worth it though!

Very fast service! Very good, tasty subs--juicy, fresh, and made with deli-fresh toppings. I mean, come on... everything is always on point!

Best gyros around. Best Greek chicken salad as well. BG or cheese fries are enough for 3-4 people.

When I need a cold cut and fries, this is my go to place. I don't know what they do to those fries, but they are great!

Other than the price i really like this place. The price doesn't keep me away but i'd be happier if it were a little more affordable.

I'm looking to try something new here any suggestions what's your order?

Everything is good! They have great subs and hot food as well. Definitely get an order of BG fries (butter and garlic) and add a side of cheese if that's what you like.

    U can't go wrong?

    Nope!

As soon as I walked in, I saw so many goodies I knew I was taking home. They had a very well curated selection of fancy condiments from small makers, rare ingredients, and the highest quality version of many every day foods! Everyone behind the counter was so friendly and knowledgeable. I had to try one of their sandwiches and got the salmon po boy at their recommendation. It was really well seasoned and super fresh with a very generous slice of fish on it. Definitely coming back for another one next time I'm in the area! Greetings my Foodzies, recently we went into Oak Park and dined at Carnivore at 1042 w Pleasant…read more Carnivore is a butcher shop who offers sandwiches and entrees. They have window display with various cuts of meat, deli meats and whole fish. They also had racks which seasonings and sauces. The employees were very friendly and helpful. We elected to go for a couple sandwiches; Glenda had a ham sandwich with lettuce and tomato with mayo and mustard. The sandwich was a good size sandwich and the ham was sliced thin but I found it to be a little salty. She also asked for no onions and there was a good amount of onions on the sandwich. I opted for the bacon burger with cheese. The misleading part was that it wasn't a burger with bacon, the bacon was in the patty; the cheese wasn't melted and I ordered medium rare and received medium. To top it all off, you couldn't taste the bacon and it was poorly under seasoned. Both sandwiches came with bag fries not fresh-cut; which had a Cajun type seasoning salt. They were good but extremely salty. I give this restaurant 2 1/2 stars mostly for the fresh meats. Give it a try and let me know what you think. Ciao Ciao for now. If you can…read moresit at the counter, it's the place to be--though I think there's only two or three tables away from the countertop, so you probably have a good chance. Anyway, when you sit at the counter, your food is delivered by a little train that runs from the kitchen and stops at your seat. It's clever, it's whimsical, it's amusing. It made me smile as much as or maybe even more than my toddler. (She may have been more excited about the pancakes.) If it's your birthday, they'll send you a birthday cupcake by train and the whole joint will sing you a happy birthday. The food was better than I expected, with a good selection of items. I was considering the 2x4 until I saw the turkey club, which is something I'd actually been craving for weeks and unable to find so I went with that. It hit the spot, and one of the servers brought me some chipotle mayo and said everyone likes it so she brings it to everyone. And she was right, so there's a tip for you to ask for a side of it for your fries or whatever. Once we were finished we went to play! The place has a bunch of ways to entertain your kids. There's a photo booth, some kiddie ride machines, machines with toys and trinkets, claw machines, and more. They all take cash, but if you don't have cash they have at least one and maybe two change machines for you to get quarters. There's a train display at the front of the restaurant for kids to look at too. It's a great place and I'm looking forward to returning. There's no dedicated parking, but there's street parking and a small city lot down the block.

I ordered a burger that was cooked perfectly and full of flavor, and John had the chicken sandwich, which he also really enjoyed. Everything came out fresh and well prepared. The corner location was quiet when we visited, and while it is winter now, the outdoor seating looks like it would be fantastic in the warmer months. We had nearly planned to dine at Cooper's Hawk (CH), but instead chose this establishment after passing by it, as it appeared to be quite peaceful and inviting. My friend, her children, and I--forming a party of four--were all eager to try the fried cheese curds. They did not disappoint and provided sufficient portions for all of us. We placed our orders: the 12-year-old selected the house salad with chicken, which was generously-sized; the 10-year-old ordered chicken tenders with a side of fries, which was plenty for him. My friend opted for the bourbon-brined chicken sandwich with a side of fries and reported that it was delicious. I ordered the Oak Park burger, which was absolutely divine--juicy, flavorful, and satisfying enough to fill me without needing to consume all the fries. I am pleased we chose this restaurant over the overpriced and somewhat overrated Cooper's Hawk. I also enjoyed a couple of Old Cubans as part of the experience. The atmosphere was exceptionally relaxed; the background music and the TVs playing football allowed us to converse comfortably, creating a warm and cozy environment. If I did not live in what I consider the somewhat dull state of Texas, I would certainly return. I am hopeful to visit again soon, as I am already dreaming of that enjoyable experience. My gratitude goes to the chef, the young male server with glasses and curly hair (apologies for forgetting your name), and the female bartender that evening, for providing a warm, cozy, and memorable night along with a delicious dinner.
