We understood that it was busy, but being texted that our table was ready only to wait another 15 minutes in a tiny entry hallway was frustrating. When I asked for an update, the hostess was dismissive, which made the situation even more unpleasant. Once we were finally seated, it took about 10 minutes for our waitress to greet us. We ordered wings and single burgers. The food was hot, but our burgers and fries came out at completely different times because the kitchen was supposedly "backed up." For the price and the hype surrounding this place, I expected a much better overall experience. The burger was decent, but honestly, nowhere near worth a 2.5-hour wait, and the prices felt high for a burger and fries. I can appreciate that restaurants get busy, but the communication, service, and timing of the food could have been much better. Overall, I wouldn't wait 2.5 hours to eat here again. The food was okay, but the experience just wasn't worth it.

I kept mentioning that my fries were one of the best. We are kindly given a key lime pie which was to die for. I'm not even a dessert person and I couldn't stop eating the slice. I will be back the next time to I visit!

The brioche bun is flavorful and very soft. Each bite explodes with flavor. It's mostly soft and gooey, but the potato sticks add in a nice crunchy contrast. Sweet Potato fries were not great. Wasn't sure about the blue cheese crumble. The sweetness of the honey with the fries in combination with the bitterness of the blue cheese felt a little rancid. Hot dog was great. Pretzel was great. The unfortunate thing is that when you have expensive food, like The Bad Apple does, the expectation of consistently good food is higher and they haven't been able to deliver. The last few times I've had a burger from here I've been left underwhelmed. My go-to burger is the Da Bears Burger which runs $18 when you order from GrubHub. The last two times I've had the burger (once at the restaurant and once at home) the smoked brisket has been dry. On my last occasion the bottom half of the bun was burnt. It was barely edible without drowning it in sauce. I've reached the point that the price outweighs the food quality. We have too many delicious burger spots that are priced similarly or less to keep feeling like I'm wasting money,

Chicago Service Announcement -- Nikki's at 46th & Pulaski Deserves Its Roses…read more I don't usually write reviews like this, but I had to speak on it. Nikki's on 46th and Pulaski wasn't just a restaurant -- it was the last of its kind in Chicago. I grew up around 35th and Western, and let me tell you, that Nikki's location didn't even come close to what 46th was doing. The quality, the flavor, the care -- everything about it was top tier. Their gyro? Legendary. Real meat, real ingredients, and the real tzatziki sauce. Not that watered-down homemade stuff everyone else tries to push now. Nikki's kept it authentic -- farm-fresh, thick, tangy, and made right. Nobody else is doing that anymore. Everyone's cutting corners, using cheap ingredients, and it shows. Nikki's stayed true while the rest sold out. I'm heartbroken. As a grown man, I can say this hit me hard. I wish I had known they were selling -- I would've stepped in to buy it and keep it running. That place meant something. You could taste the history in every bite. Now that it's gone, I honestly don't know if I'll ever have a proper gyro in this city again. It's a loss we won't understand until it's too late. For those of us who knew -- Nikki's wasn't just food, it was culture. Rest in peace to a true Chicago staple.
