Food and service is always consistently good! Don't hesitate to step in for a quick bite!

A serving of French fries is shown on parchment paper, with a mix of light and slightly darker fries. The fries are cut into thin strips and appear crispy. The background includes a dark surface and a piece of foil or aluminum wrap on the side.

A friend of mine wanted to check our George's. I have to say the exterior I didn't know what to expect. The food, I have to say was top notch! I did really enjoy the gyro and fries a special. Was enough food to be full. Easily one of my top gyro spots I have tried in my life time. The service was good too. A very large party was a head of us. Definitely felt like the wait staff really was on there A game! I like how nice everyone was to us. The ambiance, initially I didn't know what to think. After sitting down it did feel like everyone who was there were regulars. I did like the decor that was on the walls, make the vibe very homey. Overall, I would say anyone who wants to get a good gyro. I would say that's the go to. You won't be disappointed.

Decent. Did the job for a desperate dad after school. The pros of this place are the warm staff & definitely the prices. Basically got an appetizer, enteee & kids meal for about $20. If it's any constellation my daughter mentioned that the grilled cheese was amazing. Also the fried zucchini in the sampler was quite tasty as well. With those accolades aside the shrimp fell quite flat. They were popcorn size & had zero flavor as did the accompanying fries. Unbeknownst to me was the fact the they have seasoned fries but I didn't realize it until after I placed my order.

a view of the counter area - The image shows the interior of George's Gyros restaurant in Chicago, featuring a customer in a black coat waiting at the counter. The counter has a curved wooden front with the restaurant's name and contact information. Behind the counter, staff are preparing food, with a menu board visible on the wall. The ceiling has fluorescent lights, ceiling fans, and string lights. The floor has a wood pattern, and the overall setting is casual and functional.

I grew up going to George's since we had a store in the area. I was thrilled to come back and see they're still Doing well and very modernized. Had an amazing gyros at a great price. Thank you! I will be back.

Food is great, with huge portions and even better prices. It's hard to find a meal for two under $30 anywhere now, and George's proves to be a neighborhood gem. With a nice new remodel also 10/10

Gyro - A partially eaten beef gyro wrapped in foil with a red condiment packet and a straw inserted into it, placed on a blue basket on a restaurant counter. In the foreground, there are French fries. Behind the gyro, there are stacks of disposable cups and a person with purple hair and tattoos, wearing a white top, visible in the background. The setting appears to be a casual eatery or diner.

Prices were very cheap. I liked that the gyro was hot and very tasty and the fries were good. The mozzarella sticks were great. Service was very nice to us it took a long time for our food to get to us but every thing was nice.

Menu - A black chalkboard menu lists various food items including gyros, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, and side orders. The menu includes prices and descriptions for each item, such as gyro plates, grilled chicken sandwiches, and kids' menu options. The ceiling above features fluorescent lighting, and part of a refrigerator with beverages is visible below the menu.

Anyway, very clean shop. Service was friendly. I ended up ordering the Hoagie sampler which allows you to pick (3) different hoagies which are 4 inches. They wrap the hoagies individually and then place them in a container together. My hoagie also came with a small individual serving of chips. I ordered this with it in mind that I would give my husband one of the hoagies. Timing wasn't too long between order and the to-go being ready. I ate my first hoagie in the car on my ride back to the home. It wasn't messy and was deliciously seasoned with condiments. I believe it was the corn beef. Yum. We also enjoyed turkey ham and turkey hoagie. The bread was just right not too soft and not too tough. However it held up with the Italian seasoning applied to the fresh veggies. All-in all, enjoyed my hoagies. If in the area again, would try the Italian beef or one of the panini. I had a solid hour drive home so I didn't think those would hold up in the car or be easy to eat in the car. I did. Like that that they had a tuna melt and those are my jam.

Why would you not order a flight to try a variety of drinks all at once? We had the hibiscus lemonade and matcha flight, the mango con crema and banana con crema were the standouts. We went on a weekend and there was a long line but it moved pretty quickly. Limited seating space but there are also chairs and tables on the outside. Street parking available. They also offer brunch food items which we did not get to try. But overall cute shop with a variety of speciality drinks that I will definitely try in the future.

Stockyard Coffee House in Chicago, Illinois. Overall, I really liked it. The only small downside…read morewas that it felt a bit warm inside, probably because it was already a hot day outside. The staff--at least the person who helped me--didn't feel super welcoming. Not that they were rude, just not particularly warm either. I get it though, because even I get a little irritable when it's hot, so maybe that played a part. What I love the most is that it's Latina-owned, and that's something I truly admire. I always try to support Latino entrepreneurs when they're doing things right, and this place is definitely doing something creative. We ordered two flights--one with coffee and one with matcha. Each flight comes with four small samples, and they were all seasonal fall flavors, which I thought was such a fun and unique idea. It's cool because you get to try different drinks in little cups, almost like a tasting experience. The coffee flight (we got it iced) was amazing--the flavors were bold and had that strong coffee taste I personally love. The matcha flight was also fun, but I would have preferred a stronger matcha flavor in some of them. They also have plenty of milk options--we ordered ours with oat milk and it was delicious. On top of that, they have a pretty wide food menu with bagels, sandwiches, wraps, and more. We tried the tuna sandwich and it was really good, definitely worth recommending. The café has little chairs outside, the vibe inside is cozy, and I loved that they were playing Spanish music. That's something you don't usually find in most coffee shops here, and it gave the place extra personality. The only thing I'm still unsure about is the price. For two flights (coffee + matcha) and the sandwich, the total was around $55. Maybe that's a bit expensive--or maybe it's just the nature of ordering flights, since I had never tried that before. Either way, it was worth it for the experience and the flavors. In short, it's a cute, cozy, and creative spot that's definitely worth checking out--especially if you're into seasonal flavors, want to try something unique, and love supporting Latina-owned businesses in Chicago.

When they closed, I never really realized I missed them. Flash forward 38 years later. Went to Rush Hospital to visit an uncle. Leaving at about lunch time, I opened my Yelp app to see what was nearby. The top spouses ad (2.7 miles away) was Ricobene's. I really wasn't aware they were even around anymore. So, for nostalgic purposes, I decided to go there. Had my mother and aunt in tow, and we were all very pleased. The breaded steak, while still maybe not the greatest thing since sliced bread, was a nice blast from the past that I really enjoyed. Would I go there again? Surely. If I were 2.7 miles away (though uncle's been released and is back home doing fine). Do wanna try their Chicken Vesuvio again one day. But 22 miles each way just for that, not. This visit was my first time for dinner and I brought my wife and daughter with me. It was a last minute decision, so we didn't come prepared with a bottle of wine (it's a B.Y.O.B. establishment), so it was water for us. Overall, the service was fine. We seemed to be continually waiting on bread, but I don't think that was our server's fault, because she was spot-on with everything else. We ordered the Goat Cheese Bruschetta for an appetizer which was served with some small toast points, but it wasn't enough. Some more warm bread was needed, but alas, we didn't get it until our dinner had already arrived. The other appetizer we ordered was the Stuffed Artichoke, and it was absolutely delicious. Ordering these out at a restaurant is typically a crap-shoot because they are prepared so many different ways. Gio's version was heavier on the breadcrumbs instead of cheese, and also featured a nice black pepper flavor. My wife got the Grilled Calamari for her meal. The squid was fine, but they doused it in balsamic vinegar, and it was a bit overpowering. I got the Baked Cavatelli and it was exactly as expected. Homemade bits of pasta with a ricotta spiked marinara and topped with golden melted mozzarella cheese. Really good. My daughter ordered a special Fusilli pasta arrabbiata sauce and fresh mozzarella cheese. The pasta and sauce were great, but they just cut chunks of mozzarella cheese and placed them on top of the pasta. It just kind of made it difficult to eat. Maybe smaller slices, or even thinner slices so you could incorporate it into the pasta? It wasn't an issue with the flavors... Just the whole mechanics in trying to eat it. This review is long overdue... This place has been serving up above average Italian food in this neighborhood for years. If I lived in the neighborhood, this would be a regular spot for me and my family.
