My friends and I came to Mars for a book club meeting and wow, it was such a vibe. I did not expect to like it this much. The area initially threw me off a bit. It is surrounded by factories and buildings that look a little abandoned, so it feels a little sketchy pulling up. But once you walk inside, it is a completely different experience. The space is beautiful, with a great layout, a central bar, and plenty of seating. It is mostly seat yourself, and you order drinks at the bar, but they do bring food out to you and clear your table. The staff was friendly and took the time to explain how everything works, which I appreciated. Now the food. So good. I have had a favorite taco spot for the past few months, but this place honestly raised the bar. They are known for their fried cheese tacos and they absolutely live up to the hype. The shrimp was delicious and the sauce reminded me of a seafood boil, rich and flavorful. The salsa verde was also great. I also had the fries topped with fried cheese, cilantro, and onions, and they were just as good. Everything smelled amazing and everyone at the table loved their food. One thing I really loved is their drink options. They have great cocktails, but also offer well crafted mocktails that feel just as intentional. On top of that, they have THC and CBD drinks, which really adds to the relaxed, laid back vibe. Overall, it is a great place to sit, hang out, and enjoy good food and drinks for as long as you want. I can't say I loved the sausage because the kimchi it came with tasted alittle off but I did love the potato salad. When it comes to the beers I love their huge variety including THC drinks. Tacos are AMAZING here. They are made fresh and hot. Be careful not to burn your tongue. The cheese is crispy and pan-fried to the tortilla. They give you a lot of the ingredients so it's hard to fold it and eat it. Get a fork! It spills out on your plate. The sauces that come with it adds that kick and extra flavor. I personally like the steak better than the chicken, but both are still good. Their smash burger is good too and it's a double patty. It's more on the salty side so make sure you get that drink on the side! I had the honey water and it tastes like kombucha. I had the Korean roasted barley drink which was very unique and different. Really good brewery, great for drinks, great for the burgers, great for hanging out with a group of friends or family. The interior is nicely decorated with its own unique flair, oval shaped bar and nice custom wood feature above the middle of it. There's some TVs for games, a big pull down screen too. They have a nice glass area to see where they make the beers and also have a little store front with beers and merch to buy. Service is always great, attentive and friendly. The okc smash is great, I just wish they made a sauce for it, it's got a great crust on the smash and taste great. I was hungry so I added another patty and bacon because sometimes it be like that. I brought my mom here after a trip to zap props, and we were impressed with the overall atmosphere and food. I don't love ordering at the bar, but the folks working there were very helpful and kind. First time going to a brewery in the city with a baby. I knew it was a thing in the suburbs so I contacted them to make sure it was okay at this city brewery. We got there around noon on a Saturday and, to my surprise, there were 3 other families with kids there! It's very welcoming to see that they are cool with parents looking to grab some food and a drink with their kids in tow. They even had a highchair. They have a massive draft list and they offer smaller tasting pours which I always appreciate. There's also a big game room off to the side that I'd like to take my toddler to next time. What an awesome place! I've driven past Marz more times than I can count and repeatedly meant to stop in, but never did until today. The space is pretty nice. It's open and not crowded reeling even though they had a pretty good crown going for a Sunday. Seat yourself at the bar. They have a lot of unusual brews, along with some more standard ones. They have a lot more Goses than anyplace I've known. I had a Paczki stout, which is a double milk with lactose and cocoa. I also had a fruit beer which I forget the name of but was basically a sour. I wrapped up with a schwarzbier, which tasted exactly like the one I made last year. They also have food, and my smashburger was delicious with avocado and bacon. A hidden gem! My friend saw an IG post for Sublime Tacos and suggested we check it out. The burgers and tacos looked tantalizing, so we decided to make it a group thing. We visited on a Sunday afternoon during the Bears game and found ample seating. The restaurant is housed in an old warehouse, so it's chilly, but it's not too bad. Some people were wearing t-shirts while others wore their coats or winter hats. We all had the smash burgers, and they were delicious! Each one of us had a variation of the classic smash, and there weren't any complaints. The burgers are seasoned well and cooked to perfection. They are also HUGE!! The buns could be a little bigger, but that's a minor detail. The fries are okay, but they aren't nearly as memorable as the burgers. I probably would opt for plain potato chips if they were on the menu. The burger is definitely worth the $14 price tag, though. I had a pink lemonade and the THC-infused Marz High Pie Shrub Soda. I enjoyed the lemonade, but thought the soda was too sweet. My brother had the Kush Party, and he thought it was really good. My sister had their house cola, but she said it was just okay. She regretted not ordering the ginger ale. She also had the Malort Spritz, which she didn't like at all. Personally, I didn't care for the cocktails. I would've much preferred to have a margarita. I'm not a beer or seltzer fan, so most of the alcoholic beverages weren't appealing. I also don't smoke weed, so the THC/CBD options weren't particularly of interest either. I didn't ask if they had a full bar, though. I just opted to go the non-alcoholic route. The vibe is chill and comfortable. The bartenders and staff were friendly. Marking off another Chicago area brewery. Marz Community Brewing was but my latest of breweries to try for the Windy City. I generally have very positive brewery experiences with the breweries here in Chicago and Marz was no exception to it! Steve and I both had the Gay IPA. This was a beer that grabbed our attention as it was close to Pride Month and we were trying a whole bunch of LGBTQ owned breweries during this time and Marz is one of them. For the Gay IPA we picked up flavors of pineapple and other fruity, juicy flavors. It had a nice mouthfeel to it and proved to be very refreshing. Absolutely love the merchandise such as t shirts but quite a few items were out of stock but I settled in a size and logo that I liked relatively easy. I'll keep my eye on the merch for future restocking in hopes of purchasing more t shirts at some point! read more

Always a good time and the beer is always rotating. If you liked something they previously had and let the bartender know, they will recommend something. A place that does cbd drinks well and also always coming out with new flavors. The smashburger is one of the best. Marz is a spacious brewery with lots of great beer and food selections. They offer tacos and burgers on the day we went. I love that you can get 6oz pours for $4 if you want to try multiple. They have a ton of different types of beers including guest beers from whiner. It's a nice ambiance inside, you order at the bar and food comes out pretty quickly. You can get a good view overlooking their brewing facility. The OKC smash burger was massive, you can request to have it cut in half for sharing purposes. There's a lot of parking in front and on side streets. Service was friendly and ordering was straightforward. They occasionally have special events where it gets much more packed. read more
