    Duck confit

We visited for restaurant week and would say that the food quality met expectations. The first course was the beet tartare, which was interesting with the capers and supremed mandarins, and paired well with a few slices of buttered and toasted bread, but failed to convert me into a beet lover. I could still taste the "dirt" flavor of the beets which I didn't wasn't a fan of The curry butternut squash soup was deliciously warm and spicy. I loved the slightly tangy touch to it and the bacon pieces through the soup was a great way to enhance the flavor Both the entrees - duck confit and braised short rib - were really well done. The duck was not overly salted and loved the bed of caramelized onions it sat on top of The braised short ribs had a sweet glaze on top that helped to balance the saltiness and fattiness from the rest of the dish The bananas foster baked alaska was a hit - super fun way to end with the theatrics of a toasted meringue and salted caramel sauce poured over the dish table side. Service was decent but would say I didn't appreciate them come up to me to ask for a receipt after I told them I paid directly through the app. They stopped me at the door in front of other people and when they realized it was their mistake, they simply walked away without any apologies said.

Came here for Chicago Restaurant Week 2026 and honestly the $60 dinner is a great deal! Portions were generous and everything felt thoughtfully done. The vibe inside is dark, moody, and the staff is super friendly! For restaurant week we started with the umami beet tartare which surprised me because it's a cold dish with unique flavors. The second dish was the wild mushroom and creamy toasted barley was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. If you like risotto types of food you'll like this dish. The third dish was absolutely the star of the night - the confit duck - wow SO good! Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and easily the best dish on the menu. Finished with the bananas foster baked Alaska, which was a fun and delicious ending. They were very accommodating with my food allergies, which I really appreciated. I also tried the brussels sprouts and loved them, and my friend got the duck wings and couldn't stop talking about how good they were. For the price, the portions, and the quality, this is absolutely worth trying!

Snowy Sunday morning for brunch and it was so great! A cute little spot on the corner, we got here around 11:15 on Sunday and it was too busy but plenty of tables with guests. Our server was sweet and knowledgeable. I got the Duck Hash and it was yummy! I'm usually not a fan of soft scramble but it worked with the hash. The only thing is I wish there were more potatoes included with the meal, I only got a few but everything was cooked so well!! I would return to check out their dinner menu!

I came to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday during Restaurant Week. The food was delicious and full of flavor. I especially loved the duck and would definitely come back just for the rotisserie duck. Our server was very welcoming. I would recommend this place to family and friends. Street parking available.

My friends and I decided to meet up at the Duck Inn for brunch on a Sunday morning. We were able to make a reservation the day before so I thought the restaurant wouldn't be super busy, but it was actually packed! The decor throughout the restaurant was pretty cool, with many ducks scattered about and some news articles about the restaurant. I got to try their Rotisserie Duck Hash and the French Toast. The soft-scrambled eggs and hollandaise sauce that came in the hash were delightful and complemented the duck very well. The duck itself was crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside, exactly what I wanted. The French Toast had apricots and some crumble on it and I really enjoyed that combination. I really had no notes about the food! Service throughout the meal was excellent, and I thought the prices were very reasonable. I can't wait to come back for dinner and try their full rotisserie duck! Food: 4.75/5 Service: 4.5/5 Price: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Overall: 4.5/5

Went for the first time today and it was worth the hype and the wait. We tried the duck wings, beef sandwich, waygu beef, brown sugar chantilly mousse, and banana ice cream- all so phenomenal. we cannot wait to go back. I went with my friend, but it definitely is a cute date night spot due to the seating and dark lighting. Next time I need to try the duck and the burger!!! Also the chamoy tequila drink was soooo delish.

Exquisite and peculiar taste. Dark and dimly lit. Expertise and class by the wait staff. I'm coming back for the duck dish. Thank you Duck Inn.

Ok place Rotisserie duck 4 star. Good but no really up to what I thought it would be. Skin could be crispier. Meat could be more tender. Fat could mix with the meat a bit more or add some butter The appetizer white fish toast is amazing! 5 star! Super crunchy toast with some fish flower with the right amount of seasoning! Why don't serve dessert at lunch hour? That's weird. Staff is really nice. Unique design. Kinda pricey. Parking is easy and free though

We got a reservation for 3 on a Friday and got seated right away when we arrived. The restaurant was cozy and spacious with a good amount of tables and outdoor seating. We ordered the farmer's salad, duck wings, duck fat fries and the Spanish octopus. The duck wings were really tender and fries actually had a distinct duck flavoring to it. The octopus was tender and not too chewy. Overall, food was solid and drinks were good. I would come back again to try more items as the rotisserie duck seems like a popular item.

The service was too. This is a cozy restaurant with low lighting. Cute for a date night or dinner/drinks with friends. We came for restaurant week and did the wine pairing for $25 more. I didn't care for the tartare, but the other courses were delicious. I would come back to try their regular menu.

Came here for restaurant week and it didn't disappoint. The beet tartare was interesting as it had a slight mustard/horseradish flavor. Normally, I can't stand horseradish but the mildness went with the dish. The wild mushroom and barley was delicious and hearty. The barley was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms gave an excellent flavor. The curry squash bisque was also really good and had a multitude of flavors. Highly recommend if you're into Indian food or more of the rich, intense flavors. The braised short rib was amazing and had a fantastic sauce. The meat was very tender, but there was a large portion of fat which was completely inedible. The duck was also delicious and had a perfect crust with a slightly sweet sauce. The dessert was decent but my least favorite, as it was overly sweet. It consisted of three pieces: a whipped cream, ice cream, and something that resembled cake. The banana on top was nice to brighten the dish. The ambiance is moderately upscale, and service is excellent. I would definitely come back here.

We hadn't been back to Duck Inn since Restaurant Week returned in 2021, so this was our first time experiencing the full menu. Naturally, we had to try the rotisserie duck! We reserved the duck ahead of time, as recommended, and since it takes a while to prepare, our waitress suggested a couple of starters to tide us over. We visited on a Thursday, which happened to be Fried Chicken night, so we started with the Cajun crab dip off the special menu - absolutely delicious! The crab was tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts, which had a tasty topping/sauce but were missing a touch of salt or acidity. After squeezing some lemon from the crab dip, they were much better. Now, let's talk about the duck: it's worth every bit of the hype. Perfectly cooked with incredibly crisp and flavorful skin, paired beautifully with the salad, potatoes, and jus accompaniments. Truly outstanding. For drinks, the Push Comes to Shove was good - warm and reminiscent of a hot toddy - but the Ganja & Guess was the real standout. It was incredibly flavorful; I only wish there had been more of it! Finally, don't skip dessert. Get the cardamom quince cake AND the purple sweet potato tart. Both were some of the most unique and delicious desserts I've ever had. The dining room was a bit loud, but with their recent James Beard award, it's no surprise they're busier than ever. Duck Inn is absolutely worth a visit--you won't regret it!

It was no wonder when we arrived that there was a line out the door. We waited around 45 minutes, and the bouncer was a really nice fellow who kept track of the numbers and people at the door. Upon entering, we were immersed in a dimly lit retro-style lounge. It was quite loud inside and packed as we walked to our seats. The server was great at taking our orders and offering suggestions. I opted for the French 75, which featured sparkling wine and mixed gin, brandies, and citrus. The drink was delicious, but STRONG. I don't know what they put in the cocktails in America, but I am always finished after one drink. Needless to say, we were all struggling to finish our own drinks. My favourite touch was the coasters, I ended up keeping all of them so that I can reuse them at my galentines event next year. The 'bisous' with the kiss on the other side is a perfect touch! I think the drinks are fairly priced for USD. I would love to return someday to try other drinks and bar bites, and also try their sister bar, Sparrow.

Imagine my shock when we didn't even make it past the bouncer because he was so rude, AS OTHER RECENT REVIEWS HAVE MENTIONED AS WELL! We had dinner nearby and walked to Bisous after, and saw there was a line of 5 or 6 people outside. We expected this as we knew Bisous is a first come, first serve bar. We were curious what the wait time would look like, so we approached the front door to ask a host or employee inside (we assumed there'd be a desk with an employee working it who could give us a wait time). We had no problem waiting, just wanted to see how long they estimated it would be! Before we could even fully open the door, the bouncer swung the door open from the other side and hit me with the door. I stumbled back a few steps and he looked at us and said, and I quote, "What do you want?". I laughed at first because I thought he was joking and putting on a tough guy act. He was not. We quickly explained we just wanted to see what the wait time was, and he said "don't you see there's a line outside?" We said yes, and explained we just wanted to know a rough estimated wait time. He just blankly stared at us while ushering us out. Both my boyfriend and I have worked in customer-service roles for a very, very long time. This encounter was not only extremely rude and unprofessional, but he also hit me hard enough with the door to send me stumbling back, and then said nothing about it and continued to address us in a tone that was nothing less than annoyed and irritated. We didn't end up going inside because that encounter left such a bad taste in our mouths. I don't believe in spending my money at establishments that don't treat their customers with the bare minimum respect they deserve! Bummed we didn't get to experience it, as I'm sure it was lovely inside and I can only hope the rest of the employees were much more kind and accommodating, or at least able to answer a simple question. Fire your "bouncer" (??) and hire someone with some basic customer service and communication skills!!
