We went to The Duck Inn for their Restaurant Week brunch and it was marvelous. The portion of the duck wing and duck hash was significantly larger than expected (I had originally imagined more of a shredded/chopped meat situation lol), and it was incredibly flavorful with a really well balanced flavor profile. Being in Pilsen was also a plus -- easy street parking and perfect for a nice post-brunch digestive walk around the neighborhood afterward. The only slight downside is that they don't offer any regular menu items during Restaurant Week. We had hoped to add a side salad and maybe dessert, but there were no additional side options available, which means we'll have to come back another time! Came here for restaurant week with my friend and it was a great experience! I've been here before and have always enjoyed the food here. We both did the $30 brunch and we started with the buttermilk biscuit with duck fat butter and house jam. The biscuits were quite small but they were moist, and it paired really well with the duck fat butter. For our second course, we had the duck wings and cheese curds. The duck wings were dressed in Japanese bbq sauce which had amazing flavor. I was pleasantly surprised by the cheese curds, they tasted very light and I loved the aioli it came with. For our main dishes, we shared the Duck Hash and Egg McDuckInn. The portions for both dishes were very generous. The duck skin on the duck hash was perfectly crispy and the duck was very tender and moist. Paired with sweet potato hash and scrambled eggs, it made the perfect dish. The Egg McDuckInn was also a very flavorful sandwich, especially paired with the black pepper maple aioli and griddled onions. We were both very satisfied with these dishes. We visited for restaurant week and would say that the food quality met expectations. The first course was the beet tartare, which was interesting with the capers and supremed mandarins, and paired well with a few slices of buttered and toasted bread, but failed to convert me into a beet lover. I loved the slightly tangy touch to it and the bacon pieces through the soup was a great way to enhance the flavor Both the entrees - duck confit and braised short rib - were really well done. The second dish was the wild mushroom and creamy toasted barley was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. If you like risotto types of food you'll like this dish. Snowy Sunday morning for brunch and it was so great! A cute little spot on the corner, we got here around 11:15 on Sunday and it was too busy but plenty of tables with guests. My friends and I decided to meet up at the Duck Inn for brunch on a Sunday morning. We were able to make a reservation the day before so I thought the restaurant wouldn't be super busy, but it was actually packed! The decor throughout the restaurant was pretty cool, with many ducks scattered about and some news articles about the restaurant. I got to try their Rotisserie Duck Hash and the French Toast. The soft-scrambled eggs and hollandaise sauce that came in the hash were delightful and complemented the duck very well. The duck itself was crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside, exactly what I wanted. The French Toast had apricots and some crumble on it and I really enjoyed that combination. Normally, I can't stand horseradish but the mildness went with the dish. The wild mushroom and barley was delicious and hearty. The barley was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms gave an excellent flavor. The curry squash bisque was also really good and had a multitude of flavors. Highly recommend if you're into Indian food or more of the rich, intense flavors. The braised short rib was amazing and had a fantastic sauce. The meat was very tender, but there was a large portion of fat which was completely inedible. The duck was also delicious and had a perfect crust with a slightly sweet sauce. The dessert was decent but my least favorite, as it was overly sweet. It consisted of three pieces: a whipped cream, ice cream, and something that resembled cake. The drive to the restaurant was to an unassuming residential neighborhood in the Pilsen/Bridgeport area off of Archer Ave. It looked like a neighborhood sports bar from the outside. I was pleasantly pleased with the cozy inn atmosphere when I walked inside. The food was really good, with the Duck Wings being my favorite. I would visit The Duck Inn just to order a big plate of the duck wings. It was that good. It was crispy on the outside with yummy Asian flavors on the inside. The French Toast was really tasty, being on the sweet side. The Croque Ma'Spam was a huge serving, with their homemade spam being the centerpiece of the dish. The Whitefish Tartine was a clever take on the bagel with salmon. The drinks were delicious and worth ordering on their own. The service was prompt and attentive. We hadn't been back to Duck Inn since Restaurant Week returned in 2021, so this was our first time experiencing the full menu. Naturally, we had to try the rotisserie duck! We reserved the duck ahead of time, as recommended, and since it takes a while to prepare, our waitress suggested a couple of starters to tide us over. We visited on a Thursday, which happened to be Fried Chicken night, so we started with the Cajun crab dip off the special menu - absolutely delicious! The crab was tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts, which had a tasty topping/sauce but were missing a touch of salt or acidity. After squeezing some lemon from the crab dip, they were much better. Now, let's talk about the duck: it's worth every bit of the hype. Perfectly cooked with incredibly crisp and flavorful skin, paired beautifully with the salad, potatoes, and jus accompaniments. Truly outstanding. For drinks, the Push Comes to Shove was good - warm and reminiscent of a hot toddy - but the Ganja & Guess was the real standout. It was incredibly flavorful; I only wish there had been more of it! Finally, don't skip dessert. Get the cardamom quince cake AND the purple sweet potato tart. Both were some of the most unique and delicious desserts I've ever had. Finally got around to checking out The Duck Inn with friends, after many a trip to town. We originally planned to attend the last Luau of the season the end of September (a mishmash of Hawaiian and Oktoberfest apparently), but after sitting down and seeing what was left available, I suggested we move inside for the duck instead. I did not regret this maneuver one bit. We waited for a table by grabbing some delicious cocktails at the bar, and when we sat down not much later, we were greeted warmly by our server. We got a few things to share including the Huitlacoche Gnocchi (Perfection! Could easily scarf two of these alone without shame or regret); the Roasted Carrots (Flavor & Texture!); and the Rotisserie Duck. The restaurant namesake was certainly delicious, and we picked it entirely apart. I will note that the other items featured in the description at the time were more accents, rather than substantive components, so order accordingly. (I would recommend adding some of the delicious fries thereafter like we did). The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and our server was quick with both wit and ideas. It was a great night. Our one non-ducker ordered the trout, and while I love trout (we all tasted everything), I can't recommend it here. Not bad, but a bit fishy & greasy. He tried to recommend us getting the brussel sprouts cause the salad inside the duck might not be enough for 2 people (which it was, and we had leftover of it as well). When we said we didn't want to order the brussel sprouts, his reaction was a little confused and flat. Surprisingly, the rotisserie duck wasn't our favorite dish of the night, we also waited about 40 minutes between our last dish and the duck being served which was strange - they did give us a free dessert as an apology though which was appreciated! The beef tartare, burrata, and scallop & pork belly were all 5/5! The flavors were all fresh and rich!
