Used to be my favorite spot for wings in the city. Past 3 times I have ordered delivery they forget the wing sauce and the ranch! And this has happened multiple times. Such a bummer! ** the sauce in the picture is sour cream and salsa- we ordered nachos, they did get everything right for the nachos. read more

Have been to Woodie's a bunch of times and am finally getting around to reviewing it. Most times I've been there it's been fairly busy. This time we stopped in before a show at Zanie's. I think we hit it just right timing wise. We got a table upstairs and our server/bartender was super attentive and friendly. We just stayed for drinks but I'd definitely go back to get stuff off the Wing Sauce Calendar Menu! read more

Great spot for a late night bite with friends! They gave out churros to all the tables which is a great plus! The wings were quite small but very delicious. I got the sriracha honey and cheesy garlic with a side of ranch- sooooooo good! My friends also raved about the burger which hit the spot after a night out! read more

My husband and pups accompanied me to happy hour at Woodie's Flat. Dogs are allowed on their patio outside, as well as inside the restaurant! Happy hour is from 5-7 during the week, and they have great prices on drinks and special foods. We started with Fatpours, which are not on the happy hour, because we were feeling beers. Then, we got 2 items on the happy hour, their loaded nachos, and pretzels with beer cheese. Of course we had to order our favorite wings off the normal menu, including my favorite super buff sauce. Even with the sauce the wings are crispy. The burger was perfect and I am in love with their fries. We're either here, or order from here, every other week. Service is always amazing, and ambiance is always happy!!! read more

I love this place - everything from the music, vibes, drinks, and food. Our bartender was the best too - Matthew took care of our group and made sure we always had a drink order coming! The super buffalo wings were deliciously spicy, and the sriracha soy wings were a nice complementary sweeter sauce. The side salad was a nice size with fresh veggies as well. Overall one of the best places on wells street especially for watching sports! read more

The WTF drink w bourbon was tasty and creative with caramel popcorn on top which tasted good together! The sweetness of the drink was nice. The wings were good and off the bone and it was good. The sauces like cheesy garlic and peach mustard BBQ were good. The indoor and outdoor seating options were good. Nice ambience and no blaring music of loud din or people talking so it was.a nice experience. read more

I've been walking past this place for like 10 years and finally went in, and honestly... I feel like I got mugged by a sticky-floor college bar. $18 mixed drinks, plus a 4% credit card fee, is wild for a place that feels like it survives on spilled beer, bad decisions, and trust funds. The happy hour is the best ticket. The beer was good tall frosty mug, I'll give them that. But anything beyond beer felt offensively overpriced. The food was good $19 for 9-10 wings were actually the best I have had in a while, smoked then fried tasty and the pork fries seemed good. The crowd was very North Shore college kid energy, like Dad's AmEx is somewhere in the room picking up the tab. Would I come back? Yes and because staff was way cool down to earth and that and wings sold me. Might make Big Daddy's occasional stop but not an everyday watering hole. read more

Some of the best wings in Chicago. The sweet bourbon sauce is elite. Excellent chicken overall and worth the coin.

I went here after a night. Event at Lincoln Park Zoo since it was close. It is a bar, and it gives bar vibes. It was tight on the level I was on, but they open up more levels if it gets busier I guess. The service was okay. They weren't the most attentive, and they forgot to bring a drink to one of my friends. She had to go to the bar to retrieve it herself. The wings were the star of the evening. I got chimichurri and garlic Parmesan. They were DELICIOUS. I even liked the ranch that they had on the side. The wings were not fried. I think they were grilled. I def recommend the food, and I would eat there again. read more

In town from Colorado and we were looking for a place along our walk from the subway to the Second City Theater. I always like to try a new wing place and I was sold after reading Teddy B's review. This restaurant is set in a really nice, cozy feeling neighborhood. We chose an outdoor table which was perfectly shaded and comfortable. I'm hot or cold when it comes to smoked wings, as I prefer fried, but these were smoked perfectly for my picky tastes. The buffalo sauce was thick, flavorful and a spot on medium. My fries were extra crispy and didn't need salt. The bf had the nacho platter which he devoured. It was a beautiful afternoon after the previous day of clouds and rain, so the streets and restaurant were hopping. I feel we experienced good service for how busy the place was and we didn't have to wait very long for our food. There was never an empty table the entire time we were there and everyone from the bartenders, waitstaff and runners seemed to keep up and communicated well with diners. Thanks for an enjoyable part of our night. read more

If you know of better Buffalo wings in Chicago send me a DM, lol. It's tough to beat smoked then fried crispy wings. Woodie's is an Ohio State dive bar, but don't let that fool you. Service is consistently great. I usually opt for the Classic Buffalo. Beware of the Super Buffalo. I'm pretty sure it's a habanero Buffalo sauce. It's not intolerable, but the heat definitely builds. 4.19 stars read more

I'm a fellow boneless wing lover, and I love all types of boneless wings, but I will say that the meat itself and the sauces here at Woodies were absolutely delicious, out beating lots of other boneless wings I've had. We got the buffalo and their famous garlic honey, both of which were great! I'd be excited to try more. In the single wing platter, we got about 12 wings. I will say that the prices are a bit higher, but it makes sense given the neighborhood prices, and the meat itself. They do have some great deals you can get during the 4th quarter of game days, so I will be back for sure for that. Staff were friendly, and the ambience was your typical sports bar! Lots of seating and small - medium sized TVs. read more

After the beach, we dropped in here to have wings and a beer. The wings were excellent. They are often hyped as one of the best wings in the city and I have to agree they are up there. They have a ton of different sauces. We went for half bourbon glaze and half buffalo. Both were really good but I think I liked the glaze better. The sweetness is perfect. But also loved having the beat of the buffalo....so I'll prob always do both. I want to try the other flavors too. We sat outside, which was perfect for a summer day. Not sure what the inside is like. read more

Woodie's hosted us for an event this week in the basement. It was a last minute pivot for our group and the staff at Woodie's could not have been more pleasant, professional, and fun to be around. Piss poor service and misrepresentation. I ordered online directly from the site which specifically ask that you not use door dash or Uber eats . Well guess what ? They use door dash . My food was pick up by someone whose first name was unknown and then sat in the car for an hour while they delivered 3 other orders . My food arrived cold and soggy - thrown directly in the trash . Customer support whom I notified IMMEDIATELY was quite incompetent and unhelpful. read more

Nice place to watch the games basketball or baseball . Joel was my bartender very kind and wonderful!

Exactly what I was looking for in a Buckeye bar. GREAT fan atmosphere, the fog machine for every touchdown and hang on sloopy was a fun touch. Bartenders were awesome about giving suggestions and keeping us checked in on. I got half sweet bourbon, half sriracha soy boneless wings and they were great! Really good blue cheese dip, and my friend got some fries that were great as well. Excels at what it's trying to do! read more

Came in here on a random Tuesday night with some friends for some food, and this place exceeded my expectations! Super convenient location, and there was quite a few people in there considering it was a late Tuesday night. We all ordered some drinks and some food, I got the grilled chicken little sandwich with regular buffalo sauce- that was awesome! The seasoned fries too were addicting. Everyone loved their food, some people got wings, pretzels, burgers... seems like you can't go wrong with anything you order. I'll have to come back for brunch and/or to sit outside on the patio before the summer is over. All in all great spot! read more

Cool sports bar located near Old Town. It's an Ohio State bar, so ideal if you're looking for a place to watch any of their games. We went for the most recent OH St vs GA playoff game. It was packed and a very cool and fun experience, despite not having gone to the school. They had several drink options and deals. They had 22 oz draft beer pours, which I like as it's always a better deal. They had a decent craft beer selection too. Despite being crowded, servers all did a really good job getting our drinks to us. They actually have 3 floors of bars/seating, so the whole place is bigger than you'd expect. I enjoyed my time there, and would still even come back on a non game day. read more

Definitely a sports bar vibe! We sat out on the patio and quickly realized we were the only table of girls (lol). Still, we had good fun and the waitress took good care of us. I highly recommend the pork fries here! Warning: we thought they would be pulled pork over fries, but they were very literally fries made of pork - no potato. Still so good. -AT read more

As if I couldn't love Woodie's Flat more... I finally got back there after a far-too-long absence. The wings are as perfect as ever, but I want to highlight that they're a DEAL. A single order is 12 BIG wings for like $19. Compared to most other wing places, this is a great price. Especially for the best wings in the city. Apologies to bartender Mike who had to witness me Hoovering those wings like my life depended on it. You are awesome, Mike. read more

By far my favorite place to get wings in old town. Tables available and outside which during the summer times is a popular area to stroll around. Woodie's was ok...we were there to watch an Ohio State basketball game (since they are an OSU bar), but they didn't have it on until we asked. They also didn't have the sound for the game on, and instead had loud music playing. There weren't many people there (it was a weeknight). The wings were really really good--I see why they are award winning! We had beers, so nothing really to comment about the drink selection. I went to the Wells Street Art Festival and had a great time! As the night wore on, so did a craving for a sit down meal! (Ode to my sad blistery feet) The guy at the door was super friendly, he actually said "hi there, welcome to Woodie's!" he was sending those that just wanted drinks upstairs to the big bar and was working efficiently freeing up space for folks like myself who came in hungry to get promptly seated and served down on the main level. Within minutes I had chilled water, a waitress greet me and since the QR code digital menu is cleverly divided between "Wings" or "Not Wings" it made it super simple to decide what to order. Woodie's is known all around the city for wings so Wings it was!! Tender, tasty and a solid 10/10 on satisfying my tastebuds ($13.99). You get to pick the sauce and I opted for the Nashville Hot & Sweet. A repeat for sure! I can only imagine how busy kitchen operations must be because the food came out super fast. Do they have a motto like don't leave the table hanging? I'd believe it if so. The friendly vibe didn't end at the door guy either. All staff was unmasked so you could see smiling faces happy to be back at work. Gah, I forgot how much I missed that. The music was happy too... I think maybe a retro 80's happy-go-lucky DJ spin. I loved it! Even my tired toes wanted to dance:) The only negative here is drunk patrons kept coming up to our table, leaving their empty glasses on our table and disappearing.... Uhmm seriously? Not cool. Maybe they need a trough for these clueless kids who never learned etiquette from their parents to properly dispose of their empty glassware. Also one bathroom and a big line to use it is a little ridiculous - especially when some are drooling drunk! Overall, Woodie's was an awesome cool casual & upbeat place to go and I was impressed by everyone on the staff for being non-stop on top of it!! So next time I'm feeling like wings & things, I'm coming back for more of Woodie's best! read more

Wings are like rubber regardless of how you order them. Have given them a few different chances as I was hoping for the this place to be the local wing spot.
