Cosmo? - The image shows a table at LG's Bar in Chicago with cocktails, glasses of water, and plates of food, including a salad and fried items.

The food is delicious, but service was so off yesterday. I ordered a cosmo; it was just awful. Like lukewarm citron vodka with a dash of food coloring. When our waiter came back i asked if i could get a new drink (honestly, didn't even care about a refund, just hated the drink). When he came back after consulting his manager, he said his manager suggested i pour in this mystery mixture of triple sec and cranberry juice and see if the drink tastes better. Literally what??? Why am i making my own drink?! Bizarre. I told him it was ~fine~ with the added mixture, but not great. He said "awesome!" and we barely saw him the rest of the night. Weird, weird, weird vibes there yesterday. I am never one to leave a smaller tip, but the service was frankly the worst i'd had in a while. The food was great though. Hats off to the kitchen. Maybe take out next time.

We were at an event in Old town and needed food, so we stopped in to see what they had. The menu is pretty diverse with burgers, pizzas, salads, tacos, and more. I got the drive thru burger and it was really goodddd! The burger was juicy and flavorful, would definitely come back for it. I didn't try any cocktails, but the bar was fully stocked. We didn't have a reservation and was seated immediately. Place is spacious and nicely decorated. I liked the Mona Lisa animation at the bar, hehe. Parking is kind of a hassle since it's on a busy street.

Horrific management. This business REFUSES to give me my property back. A Halloween prop I purchased for my KID. I've asked nicely several times and contacted them patiently. Who does that? LOW

Almost completely empty on a Sunday 12pm (no reservation needed). My friends and I enjoyed some great brunch items, but ultimately felt the vibe was a bit sleepy despite there being a good DJ on site. The music wasn't too loud, which we appreciate so we could have conversation. To me, LG's is a hit-or-miss bar for your weekend nights. As a brunch place, it seems to fall right at 3 stars for this review. I'd still come back for an impromptu brunch or dinner. It's helpful that they have so much space! Reservations can be a pain. - AT

Fun bar for karaoke! Going on the weekend though, it can be a little too crowded. The crowd here is usually mid twenties or younger

I think LG's is more known if you are looking for a bar, but I came here for dinner & drinks with friends and had a great time! Our server was great and we were seated outside right away. Sitting on outside their entrance was great. We could hear the music from inside, but it wasn't too loud. LG's is right on Wells St. so it was pretty busy all around LG's, but our picnic style table outside wasn't disturbed at all, it was a great experience. Our food and drinks were very yummy. The salad was huge and super filling. It had lots of good toppings, my favorite was the giant shreds of parm & the craisins. My friends all got the steak wrap which looked perfectly cooked. They were big fans. Our fries were delicious too, I couldn't stop eating them. If you are looking for a place to eat and drink, this is a great option!

We had the best time here! We live down the street but had never stopped in. Zara took great care of us and we had a lovely time on the patio. We did not want for anything and she was so attentive. The manager even held a bottle of wine for us before they ran out. Come here!!!

Lovely outdoor area. Food is pretty typical of what you'd expect from a bar on wells. Good, but not phenomenal

A nice spacious bar with a decent selection of bar eats, drinks, and activities. I've been to LG's twice--once for trivia night which is does pretty well and another for dinner. During regular nights, they'll have a bunch of TVs playing sports games and will be blasting music. I enjoy the type of music they play so I was enjoying it but probably not the most conducive place to have a conversation. I feel like this place has great potential to have a dance floor late at night but like most places in Old Town people don't really dance. They have fantastic happy hour/weekly special deals which are super worth it. Their tailgate tray on Thursdays is 10/10 value. If you order any appetizers you have to get the cheese curds! I feel like their burgers are very average.

Fun spot on wells. They sometimes have decent drink specials. Karaoke for whoever is feelin' themselves. The blackened chicken club is bomb. Get honey mustard on the side.

Great spot for brunch! I was taking a walk around Lincoln park this morning and decided to stop in for a quick bite to eat. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! I ordered the small portion of the biscuits and gravy which was still a lot of food! It came out extremely quickly and was absolutely delicious. I ended up just sitting at the bar which was very nice. The place wasn't too loud and had lots of TVs to watch the games. They're also very accommodating on what you want to watch. All in all will definitely be returning!!

Bang Bang Bowl - A poke bowl featuring sliced avocado, cucumber, tofu, pineapple, and pickled ginger, served on a black plate with a side of small dishes and a glass of drink.

Nice bar in the heart of Old Town. Had a nice time, with great music on a Saturday night. The DJ did an awesome job! We had a wine and beer to begin with. We ordered Bang Bang bowl with Tofu to share. It was colorful and delicious. Nice experience overall!

We were greeted right away and seated quickly. I ordered the chicken and broccoli sandwich with feta, provolone, and aioli on a fresh bun, plus fries. The chicken had a nice crisp without being dry, the broccoli added a fresh crunch, and the toppings tied everything together. The fries were also excellent--crispy and well-seasoned. My SO had the chicken avocado club, which our waitress Mariah recommended on garlic bread instead of the standard option. That swap was spot-on. Speaking of Mariah--she was fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of the whole meal. The only downside was the appetizer pricing. Most options I saw hovered around $20, which felt steep. Our sandwiches, in the mid-$20s, were fairly priced given the quality, but I probably would've tried an app if the menu had more budget-friendly choices. Overall: a great spot for watching sports or enjoying a solid meal. With slightly more approachable appetizer prices, this would have been an easy 5-star experience.

After leaving the symphony, we wanted somewhere nearby to grab a meal and have a good conversation, so we ended up at Miller's Pub at 134 S. Wabash. My colleague had made a reservation, but honestly, it didn't seem necessary, you can easily walk in. Miller's Pub is a longtime Chicago staple, and we were seated quickly. The space is much larger than it appears, with a classic Irish pub feel and an antique charm that gives it a lot of character. Our server was enthusiastic, attentive, and very accommodating throughout the night, which we appreciated. Food-wise, we ordered a variety of dishes. I kept it simple with a salad topped with carrots and chicken, it was just okay, nothing particularly memorable. One of my colleagues ordered a chicken sandwich, and another got what might have been the most massive fish tender I've ever seen. If I ate fish, I definitely would've tried it, and she said it was really good. Unfortunately, what really impacted our experience was the atmosphere. There was a choir conference happening nearby, and a large group of attendees came into the pub and started singing, loudly and continuously, throughout the evening. While it was entertaining for the first couple of songs, it quickly became overwhelming and disruptive. It didn't seem like other patrons were enjoying it either, there was little to no engagement or applause, and I found myself wishing the staff had stepped in to tone things down a bit. I understand that a bar environment can bring in all kinds of energy, but this went on far too long and really took away from the experience we were hoping to have. Based on the food alone, I'd give Miller's Pub 3 out of 5 stars. But factoring in the overall experience, it's closer to a 2.5 out of 5 for me.

Crunchy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. It went well with the medium-spicy salsa they provided. This is already a win with any cold beer and any game on their many tvs! We would definitely it get again! We had their shepherd's pie: really flavorful Guinness Irish beef stew under a deliciously creamy layer of parmesan mashed potatoes, nicely crunchy on the outside with a lightly toasted top, and Irish soda bread. Delicious and satisfying! We loved the pastrami reuben sandwich, and we're not even big fans of sauerkraut in a sandwich. But in O'Toole's version, everything came together in a perfect union - the pastrami, the thousand-island dressing, the sauerkraut, and the griddled marble rye. We deliberately left off the Swiss cheese, and maybe that's the trick (for us) to balance the sauerkraut? Well, it worked nicely this way.
