    The Project Peekza And Chips
    Steve A.

Had a great time at another one of these craft breweries in an old warehouse, helping make the area better. If looking for a big spacious place to drink some good shit, it's here. Monochrome is the best craft brewery in Pilsen. Certainly quite a few beers on tap, and many more in cans. The canned beers may be the better ones. Cool looking place in a formerly ugly ass building. It has a huge amount of space inside. They have room for tons of beers, and we have to come back to try a few more. It has a pretty good variety for a local craft brewery. The first I had was the Project Peekza. It's about $7 a pint for most beers. This one is a double hazy IPA that still is pretty smooth. It's a collaboration with Novel Pizza. Pretty light on alcohol but full of flavor and spice. Canned beers are also nice. It seems their sours all come in cans, so apparently these are limited or something. A good one is the Tetrachromatic, strong ass. It's a bourbon barrel aged stout. Has limited stuff as far as food. It's about $2 for crackers or nuts. There's only these few snacks. Gamers can choose from among lots of board games. Included among these is the Big Bang Theory game, of existence I wasn't aware of. This is a good place for nerdy drunks, or whoever.

Spacious brewery in Pilsen area serving up great beers in a cool environment! Tried the Epsicle which is a creamsicle type ale, very good! Good mix of music being played by the friendly staff. Pro Tip: the day I visited they did have a cooler and were selling singles to go of their Project Peekza beer

Cute spot! Previous reviews said they had small offerings. Not anymore ! They now have excellent beer list! Speaking to the bartender, was told they had small list when opening due to Chicago beer laws. Now they have extensive list. They also have wine and cocktails. For suburbanites, there is plentiful street parking and around the corner. Pricing is very reasonable.

Just a neat spot. Easy parking. Easy to find a seat. Service is quick and friendly to order drinks. Some of the drinks have standard and smaller trial options. No matter what I order, I always get a 4 ounce orange milkshake IPA. It rocks. The 5Kolsch (or 5K Kolsch?) is a nice crisp lighter beer, and my go-to is the El Venado. It's delicious, and I always get a four-pack to take home. Cool vibe and it's family- and dog-friendly. There's a Walter Payton photo by the bar, and they show Bears games during the season. They offer some different food options depending on the day, with the legendary Heffer BBQ handling food on Saturdays and Sundays as part of a residency. Get a Monochrome beer and a Heffer brisket crunchwrap and you'll have a fantastic day.

Monochrome is a fun addition to Pilsen. Located in a large hall (so suitable for large groups, kids, and dogs), the place offers both draft beers and draft cocktails. The team was very friendly and helpful sharing some information on each of the brews and offering tasters prior to ordering. After trying the Best Tuesday Ever, Pineapple Swirl, Big Riwaka Vibes (guest draft by Other Half) and the More 20 Dank IPA - I settled on the latter due to its curious nature. The house Double IPA is also tasty and a recommendation! Next time I'll be in town I'm definitely trying the draft cocktails

So happy to have Monochrome in the neighborhood!! We went last night for their public opening and the energy was amazing. Everyone seems super excited to have a brewery back in this space (used to be Lo Rez). The brewery is very spacious, allows dogs, and is great for kids. They have indoor and outdoor (covered) seating. Bring your own food, but they plan to have food trucks and pop ups. The beer menu was pretty good. A good variety of house beers, something for everyone - IPA, seltzers, stout. And they also had guest drafts from some pretty cool breweries. I liked their Epsicle Layers orange creamsicle beer and my husband liked the Tetrachromatic stout. You can get 6 ounce pours, which is really nice. Plenty of street parking, free wifi. What more can you ask for? We're very excited to visit throughout the summer!

I went back with a friend for a second visit and they are definitely way more settled in now. The place has a Mexican vibe/theme. The owners were both very nice. They have several beers on the menu now - mostly hazy IPA which is right up my alley! Good service, good beers! They also have Mexican cocktails, wine, mocktails, and other N.A. options. Very clean and spacious. Would recommend, will definitely return.

    Two of my favorites.

I visited this place last week, while in town. They have some of the best Hazy beers in Chicagoland.

Place was pretty good. Koo chill vibes and atmosphere. Pretty clean and open with plenty of sitting options. Dog's are welcome but the one thing I didn't like. There was a guy there with his dog and he was letting him walk all over the couches.

Amazing brewery! The bartender was so friendly and inviting, amazing beer, and darts, made our visit so much fun. I can't wait to go back!

Beers were amazing! People that worked there were super friendly, patient, and welcoming. They had darts which we had a blast playing and then watched some football on their enormous projector. I can't wait to go back!

Nice giant space. The brewery is newer and while the lineup of their beers was small, what I had was great and the bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable.

The first three beers from Monochrome and outside.

They played good music and wasn't too loud. You could easily carry on a conversation or , like me, continue listening to a podcast. By the time I finished, the place was completely full and a bit noisy, but not bad. I started out with a 10oz Birds of Prey Pilsner. It was very nice. Light and crisp and very easy to drink. I followed that up with Melodious Maibock and ordered the CBG burger with fries. I didn't have lunch so I dove right in and forgot to snap a photo. It was a very good smash burger. It was cooked well and I really liked the combination of pickled onion and caramelized onion. I didn't see it until later but you can add bacon. As much as I loved this burger, bacon would totally take it up a notch! I started chatting with the bartender about their different beers and decided to have the Super Melodious Jalapeño Maibock with the burger. It's soooo different, but in a good way. It paired so well with the burger. You get green bell pepper on the nose and a hint of it on the palate. When you swallow you get a little heat at the back of the throat. It was so good! Great bar. Great food. Great beer. Go check them out!

Two things to note right off: I read somewhere there was a valet and there wasn't. They said there was street parking and everything was taken for blocks. They gave us directions to a parking ramp about a block away. I would call ahead for directions if you go there. We were seated immediately. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. Our waitress was very nice and efficient. The only time we found ourselves looking for her was at the very end for our check. All our food was amazing! There was only one problem: it was all very filling. (We didn't mind though :) ).We took most of our entrees home. The menu is very much comfort food themed. The wait times were good. And the drinks were good as well. It is an open air concept. Kind of industrial reminiscent. This makes the acoustics great and the room loud at times. It was loud when we were there. We had a great time once we were seated. The Parking was a headache, but once we got past that we were fine. I'd say definitely give them a try. Just make sure you're hungry!

Ended up here to watch the World Cup game, the place was not packed the everywhere around was, we asked for a table they said they were all reserved, fair enough but the we were left just standing there. One of party asked if the patio was reserved as is completely empty. The hosts seemed to be put off and said yeah it's first come first serve , no food or bar service. Just really did not want us there. We grabbed some beers , the bartender was veryy nice, he was the only one, everywhere we walked we were pushed and yelled at by wait staff, they just were not pleasant. Then the food I mean what a joke, we asked the bartender if we could order food and pick it up at the bar, he told us he'd have it delivered to us at our patio table, which we were told was not possible. Ok the food arrived, our order of fries was literally 6 fries, I am not kidding, we got some pretzel bites, I think there were 6, wtf. The only thing reasonable was a bread platter I didn't order it so not sure what it was but everyone was ordering so there you go. I doubt they will be around long, I will never return.

The inside is moody with dark wood finishes, black accents, and elegant artwork & feature lighting. Upon entering, one checks in at the first floor host stand. A server brings you upstairs to the dining area. There is a mixture of two and four tops in the space and our table had a handwritten note congratulating us on our anniversary. Our seat allowed both of us to have a view of the kitchen window to watch the chefs prep courses. There were 3-4 servers that serviced the entire dining room and rotated in presenting dishes. They started with warm towelettes to wash your hands which was a nice touch. Service level throughout was impeccable with water refills, explaining the menu, delightful demeanor, fresh silverware per course, and wiping the table clean from anything that dropped. This was certainly one of the best hospitality levels at a one star I've experienced. Dinner was 12 courses including the amuse-bouche and final treats. There was not one course that didn't offer bright, fresh flavors. The presentation of plates were beautiful from every angle. It's hard to pick any top dish as everything was unique and special in their own way; but I am still thinking about the Crab Bite, Sablefish, and Pasta Course.
