Michael's has been here for a long while, and there was a time when this neighborhood was my stomping grounds, due to our band's rehearsal studio located a block down. Yes, Michaels brings it, and how! For me the shining example here is the Italian Sausage. Char-broiled and spiced perfectly. I hadn't been here in a long time, and when Chrissy and I were in the neighborhood and peckish, I suggested Michaels-and I was right. The Salsicc' was as delicious as I remembered, with a fab Giardinera and Sweet Peppers. I had mine dipped, and the gravy was topnotch. Some joints try to pass off an insipid spiced brat as "Italian sausage" (Here's looking at YOU, Portillos), but not here at Michaels. It's as tasty of a sausage as you can get. Chris had a taste for a char-broiled burger, and she reported it was excellent. She also ordered Fries, and the order was enormous! If you like "fresh-cuts", you'll dig Michaels. The place was very clean, down to the restrooms. The folks behind the counter are all business-dont mistake their intensity for rudeness. How can I rate a place so low when their fries are good? The guy at the counter is a jerk who won't accommodate my simple order. I just want fries with three sides of hot peppers. He actively gatekeeps the quantity of hot peppers any single person can buy AND fills the sides predominantly with oil. Great fries, but I just can't do this anymore. I got the beef served piping hot & dipped on garlic bread w/Jardinere peppers. Woooo boy was that good. Nice hot juicy messy beef w/the spicy Jardinere peppers. Did that ever hit the spot. Well it's been a while since I had any fast food you gyros and I was doing errands along the way after coming home from work so late. I've been to this place before and it's very decent if not good food. The service was also decent in regards to what they give you and when they serve you food. As for your ambience it's pretty typical a little more decent than most fast food places like this. Right by the tip of the oak Park in Chicago. I ordered the gyros plate cuz I was that hungry already. Other than that if you can't wait and don't know any other places there's a place to go besides us hamburgers another fast food. Great salads for a fast food burger joint. Great fresh cut fries. Solid burger, there are better beefs in the area but the beef is not too shabby either.
