Absolutely terrible. I almost doubled the price of my bowl with add ons, yet received the same amount of food as my friend's ordinary order. Salmon and steak was unbearably dry-- I don't think I could have swallowed without water. Half the portion of my steak was straight fat. Place was so bad it actually made me mad. Definitely choose Sweetgreen, Chipotle, or Cava rather than this place.

This place affordable & what I really like is that you get your moneys worth with the amount of food they serve you. I paid $13 for the southwest bowl & I honestly enjoyed having a variety of mixed veggies. Very filling, the service was fast and easy, came here around 12:10. Place is clean as well.

    Honey Granola Parfait
    Will P.

Stopped by Protein Bar and Kitchen and ordered the Honey Granola Parfait. The Honey Granola parfait came with Greek Yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, chia seed, granola, and raw organic honey. It was super good and had 17 grams of protein. Also ordered a black iced coffee which was very refreshing and light. Seating is spacious inside and they also have outdoor seating as well. Service is very quick and the workers are very friendly. This location is right next to a LA Fitness Gym which is super convenient for a post work out snack!

Gross. Never order the power plant bowl. It was more liquids than a smoothie! It was a bowl of green ice and watery almond milk. I ordered the power plant bowl with strawberries and granola, and paid for extra blueberries. NO JOKE: there was one strawberry, 7 blueberries, less than one 1 tablespoon of granola. What a waste of money Note: My food was through uber eats.

Whether you're in need of a lil pick me up or an after workout snack, I highly recommend Protein Bar! I eyed Protein Bar next to the LA fitness I workout at for awhile before finally trying it, and I'm so glad I did. The first time in, I wasn't familiar with their menu/modifications, so I accidentally ordered a shake that had whey protein in it (make sure you look at all the ingredients, unlike me!). The staff was so understanding and when I went in to reorder a new one, they so kindly made me a new one without charging the price of a new smoothie I love the various modifications you can make to any item on their menu, and the fact that they highlight what items can be made gluten free and/or vegan The man working when I went in was able to modify my many substitutions without complaint and even offered me an added energy boost, which came free of charge My warning to you, if you're like me, it'll easily become your workout "reward" (becoming an everyday treat)

    Mexicali Bowl with turkey bacon
    Samuel A.

Protein Bar lives up to its name. Very solid, healthy food packed with clean carbohydrates and protein. Opted for the mexicali bowl with added turkey bacon. It was tasty and fresh. I wish the portion was a smidge bigger, especially for the price of the meal, but understand that fresh ingredients have some inflated prices at this time. Another solid lunch through Fooda delivery service. Thanks PBK!

Just wanted to grab something real quick. I love their avo matcha drink. Service is good and place is clean.

You'll be surprised how good this place is! I stop by at least once a week. Service is fast and friendly, and the restaurant is super clean! Highly recommend visiting this location to anyone looking to enjoy a healthy meal.

    Vegan salad

I have heard of Protein bar plenty and love that Oakbrook has one. Just stopped in to grab a vegan salad yesterday. The salad itself, kale, spinach, tofu, dressing, multi colored carrots and quinoa. It was a great healthy quick grab while in the go. I tried to get my son to get something but he defaulted to chipotle. But I love that they have meat and no meat healthy options. As for the salad. I would omit the celery since I don't love celery but it was all very fresh and very good. Will come back again.

    Avo Matcha

Take this review as you will but just know I have only had protein shakes here and no food as of yet! Once I do I'll update but what I can say is that these protein shakes are an absolute must! The Avo matcha was recommended to me by the cashier and I'm so glad I took her recommendation cause now I'm addicted! I have tried other shakes and their all great so can't go wrong with any of the other choices

    The Perk
    Vanessa G.

Great spot to pick up a quick lunch. Food and protein shakes were tasty and love that you're able to get a healthy meal What I tried: The Perk - espresso whey protein, chocolate whey protein, house-made cocoa malt & almond milk (25g of protein) Wrigley Peeled - organic peanut butter, banana, agave, chocolate whey protein & almond milk (25g of protein) Mexicali - chicken, corn, black beans, cheddar, warm kale, salsa, spicy tomatillo lime sauce, chipotle Greek yogurt topped with guac served over quinoa Spicy Korean - beyond beef meatballs, diced cucumber, spinach, pickled red onion, pickled carrot & sweet and spicy chili sauce served over cauliflower rice Everything had such good flavor and the employees were so nice. Can't wait to go back and try other items and definitely want to try their breakfast food.

    Chick'n Tinga Bowl
    Meagan S.

My new go-to for a quick lunch! My order was ready quickly and put on the shelf for easy grab and go. It was fresh, tasty, and I love how they have options for all dietary preferences--including vegan cheese! Their new chick'n menu items were so delicious, and the "chicken" pieces were so flavorful, tender, and meaty. The seating is open and airy, so it's a great place to enjoy your meal.

We went last Saturday morning and it was standing room only with a line to the coffee bar, then we loved it enough to come back for breakfast the next day. That should tell you most of what you need to know. The lemon burst cookie is the reason to walk in the door and a reason to come back. Delectable, plenty of lemon, plenty of tart, and it goes down dangerously fast. We ordered it twice across two visits and would have gone for a third. The lavender honey latte was very good, just the right amount of lavender, not too sweet. The regular coffee was solid, and they let me do a half-and-half decaf without blinking. Sunday breakfast was straightforward, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, a Virgin Bloody Mary, and all of it was well executed. The menu is ample enough that you could come back several times and not repeat yourself. The decor is modern chic, the seating has a relaxed couch-and-lounge feel, and the music including Rolling Stones, Duran Duran, Van Halen, etc, was the kind of 80s pop-rock playlist that makes a Saturday morning feel like it has a soundtrack. Not too loud, just right. The restrooms were really nice and accessible. The crowd was a genuine mix, families with kids, older couples, and young "elite", the kind of clientele that parks Maseratis and Ferraris out front but doesn't need the prices to match, because they don't. The menu is moderate for Oak Brook, which is a pleasant surprise. Wait staff were excellent, friendly, accommodating, attentive. This works for a casual coffee run, a family breakfast, or a special occasion with reservations. If Beatrix were a TV character, it would be Lorelai Gilmore, fast, charming, effortlessly good at three things at once, we get it Lorelai, you're over caffeinated. 4.4 Stars The honest gripe: we felt a little rushed. Breakfast came and went in forty minutes, the waitress was ready to move us on in 30 minutes, but we pumped the brakes and asked for our second lemon burst cookie of the weekend, and it would've been nice to get the signal that we could linger. My sense is they're popular enough that turning tables is the priority, and I get it, Lorelai has a business to run, but it's the one thing that kept a great morning from being a perfect one. What would push it to five stars: let us sit with our coffee a little longer. We came back two days in a row, we clearly want to be here. Just let us stay.

We ordered several hot tapas in addition to a mixed paella and three skirt steak tacos. A couple of the tapas only had three servings and seeing as how we had 4 in the party, she upped the amount to 4. Now that's called dedication. Well management (Carlos and Kim) was on top of it from the get go and GRACIOUSLY took care of us throughout the night, making sure our service was OK.
