Tried Cava for the first time and it was delicious! The line was to the door, but moved fairly quickly. My partner and I both chose to make our own bowls and they're were delicious! Some recommendations: grilled chicken, tzatziki, and crazy feta! I really enjoyed the Skhug as well. The side pita was a good addition as well. I wanted to try the pita chips but they were out, so hopefully on our next trip because we will be back!

Very good! Fresh healthy food. Lots of options to customize which is perfect because I'm a picky eater. Portia did an amazing job explaining the menu options and made us great bowls!

Taktuka Moroccan kitchen - Mixed grill entree

It's tiny inside and feels well worn (in a good way), but there are a few tables outside. We went at an off time (or so we thought), but eventually all four tables and all bar seating were taken up. The gentleman serving us seemed to be the only one there, but he was friendly. We ordered a taktouka sampler, mixed grill platter, and lamb shank tagine. If you go to a Moroccan restaurant, you've got to get tagine. It took a little while for the food to come out, but overall it was excellent. The taktouka sampler was full of veggies. It was tasty, but I wish the carrots were cooked more to soften them. The mixed grill platter had chicken and beef kabobs, as well as something like a kefta (ground meat) kabob. The meats and rice were good, although the beef and chicken could have been more tender and juicy. The white sauce was a nice accompaniment. The lamb shank was excellent; nice tender meat, tasty rice, and delicious supplemental flavors from the figs and apricots. Overall, a very nice lunch.

The chicken wrap was what drew me to try Damascus Falafel while driving by and it did not disappoint. Seems like it's what gets ordered the most. If you're looking for something quick, relatively healthy, that doesn't break your bank, this is your spot!

Luckily I hopped on Yelp and to my surprise, found Damascus Falafel extremely close. This was just such a good experience, I purchased two chicken wraps + a soda + small tip all for 25$. In this day of age, that is a fair price for essentially food for two people. This was a well sized wrap, you pick your wrap + protein + veggies + sauces. I did the chicken w/ cucumber salad + green salad, hummus, pickles, feta, garlic and tahini. After you make your selection it will then be press grilled. The wrap absolutely hit the spot(everything tasted fresh) , the flavors all worked together and I'm literally thinking of going back today because it was so good. Also like to add there is tons of room as well in here. The service was also very friendly too and helpful. Between the food, the fair pricing, good customer service, this is a must try spot and excited to have it in my local rotation.

Both sandwiches had a good amount of meat and flavorful fillings. Both were tasty and satisfying. The only thing I would ding them on is that tortilla bread was used instead of shruk bread or thin pita. While I didn't eat there, there was a reasonable amount of seating inside and service was friendly. There was another section of the restaurant whose menu showed pizza and manakeesh, but it was unmanned at the time. Wouldn't mind trying that some time.

I ordered the mixed shawarma wrap (chicken and steak) combo, sfeeha fatayer, and mamounia bel eshta (Syrian dessert). Service is always friendly, they'll explain the items if you don't know. My last review for this place was 24 days ago and there was barely anyone here. I'm glad to see that there are people coming in here, since there are not many Syrian restaurants around. -mixed shawarma combo 5 - this is one of the best shawarmas I've ever had. The chicken and steak are equally tender and juicy. I really like the special seasoning. You can also add additional sauces. Don't sleep on those French fries. They make them crispy, none of that soggy nonsense. -sfeeha fatayer 5 - this kind of looks like a quesadilla, the sfeeha is minced beef with seasoning. This is a very tasty meat and I highly recommend this. -mamounia bel eshta 5 - a Syrian dessert. The mamounia is a warm semolina pudding with pistachios and cinnamon. The eshta is a thick, clotted cream with pistachios that you eat along with the mamounia. I ate it separately. There is salty cheese and bread that you eat with them. There's no wrong way to eat it. You can use the bread to put some of the eshta or salted cheese in it. Alternate between sweet and salty.

I got the avocado toast, but too much feta on it I took most of it off. Other than that, it's good. I spent $31 total not realizing the avocado toast came with two slices instead of one, the price made just a little more sense. I also got the chocolate chia pudding with strawberries and bananas on top, that was good, hard to mess that up though. And finally I got a pistachio matcha latte. I will say yumm to that one. Now, when I go to a coffee shop to sit and enjoy, the ambiance matters so much to me, especially for when I go alone like I did today. The music they're playing? Hotel lobby music. It's fine, eh, not the worst but not enjoyable at all either. I'd suggest for them to get a better playlist asap. My recommendation is look up chill coffee house music on Spotify or something. It's not hard to make a place more enjoyable, you just have to put in a little more work. Music is so important to us, it sets the mood, enhances your energy levels, your domaine levels. Pay attention to this. This comes to my next point, the furniture? Tacky. It's that cheap furniture with the "gold" legs to make the place "look" fancy. The chairs are so thin and uncomfortable actually. It's funny when a place decorates a place "simply" and think it looks good when you can tell no real direction was implied. Did they ask themselves "how do I want my customers to feel when they sit in here?" Doubt it. Don't get me started on the tacky pink telephone booth that looks like Legally Blondes Wedding Planner threw up on it. It makes no sense for the space. The sugar caddies on the table are ugly. The white wall with the green letters spelling NECTAR needs color, needs paint. It's boring. Add some real life, love, and vibes to the place, and you'll have a solid joint. Ask yourselves the reason for opening a coffee shop in the first place. Was it just for the money, the profit? Makes sense. But did you actually have love for the idea of bringing people together? A love for quality conversations, and good energy, good food and drinks and for people to say things about your creation like "have you been to Nectar before?! Wow it's so good, it's my favorite coffee shop. It's beautiful in there and all of their food and drinks are amazing!" Because I promise you, although your food and drinks seems to be good from I'm reading, you're not people's favorite coffee shop. Do more, do better. With love, Alyssa.
