A Tough Review to Write for a Long-Time Favorite It genuinely pains me to write this review, because this has been one of my favorite quick service restaurants for quite some time. I used to come in at least once a month--sometimes more--and the food has never disappointed. I absolutely love being able to build my own cauliflower rice bowl, and the pickles? Out of this world. Seriously. I could go on and on about the food -- it's fresh, flavorful, and consistently excellent. That said, my recent visit was a letdown in a few ways that I hope are temporary issues, because I really want to keep this place in my regular rotation. There was a new team member behind the counter who built our bowls, and while the food was (as always) delicious, the customer service fell noticeably short of what I've come to expect. We weren't greeted when we came in -- something that normally adds a warm touch to the experience -- and the staff member seemed to go out of her way to say as little as possible. She wasn't rude, but she definitely wasn't friendly either, and that subtle disconnect made the whole experience feel a bit off. Even more concerning was the overall cleanliness of the dining area. The restaurant is in real need of a deep clean -- tables, benches, and chairs clearly hadn't been wiped down in some time, and the beverage station was in rough shape. There was dried syrup stuck to the front of the dispensers, hard water buildup around the counter area, and the fruit juice dispensers weren't circulating. My husband always gets the juice and actually had to go dump his out and switch to soda because the flavor was off. From the amount of sediment at the bottom of the container, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it had started to ferment. Also worth noting: the light fixtures are dusty and in need of a good wipe down -- just another small detail that added to an overall impression of neglect. Another ongoing frustration: please consider getting into the habit of asking if customers would like a receipt. Your rewards program requires one, and it's often a hassle to interrupt a meal and ask for a reprint after the fact. It may seem like a small thing, but for loyal customers trying to earn rewards, it does make a difference. I'm giving three stars today -- and that's solely because the food is still excellent. If I were judging on food alone, this would be a solid five-star review (and that says a lot because I rarely give fives). I truly hope this was just an off day, and I'll definitely be back to check. If the cleanliness and service return to the level I know this place is capable of, I'll happily update this to five stars. read more

I really want to say that I ordered the wrong thing or perhaps I'm just not the right target market ("Fast Casual"), but I ordered the Classic Pita with falafel and it just wasn't good. Falafel and bread both were dry as a desert, crusty, and flavorless. Toppings seemed like precut/shredded Food Services of America quality--if you've all had packaged salad mix carrots you know the flavor I'm talking about. Went at 2:30 on a weekday, food was old and felt like it had been out since 9am. The service was great and the only reason I am giving this place one star. However, my veggie pita meal was beyond awful. The pita bread was as hard as a rock, it could not be consumed. The pita chips inside of the pita wrap were also stale. This is not a surprise, most suburban Roti locations do not compare to the old downtown location pre pandemic, but this was down right awful. If customers cannot at least order a pita meal with a fresh pita it should not even be a menu item. It was awful. read more

This place is a joke. I wish I would have taken a picture of my delivery on Doordash but it went straight to the garbage. The veggie roasted salad had 1 piece of broccoli and 1 small pepper, both burned and the kale was very skimpy, salad also had no couscous. Even worse, the kids "chicken bowl" looked like a measly left over cold and old food with some grains of old stale rice and a few pieces of leftover looking chicken. Food was cold and stale. This was my first time at a Roti. Service was very friendly and there was plenty of seating. I made up my own salad bowl. The steak is spicy but the chicken and other items were bland or just not a taste I care for. If you want to taste the sauces on their own, as first-time customers may prefer, make sure to tell them not to layer them. My wife and I ate here last week. The staff was friendly and helpful. But after paying for our food, I went to the drink dispenser to get water and there was a strong smell of sewer gas in that area. The food smelled fine, but even at our table we could still smell this terrible oder. My wife had a chicken pita-like sandwich and I had a bowl A few hours later my wife started feeling sick and ending up getting sick. She kept belching from the food. I've gone to this Roti 3 times as it's the only one close to my house. First time: out of steak, salmon, cauliflower, pickled onions Second time: out of falafel, spring mix, cauliflower rice Third time: out of steak, red shug sauce. I had a steak rice plate with red Shoug (their hot sauce). The food was good and tasted fresh though nothing really was outstanding or crave-able. I used to love Roti. But now they have eliminated chicken breast meat, couscous (which was really good) and some other options. My rice bowl was dry as there was a tiny drizzle of sauce and the tiniest melon scoop of feta. I am not a fan of dark chicken meat and I don't like salmon. I placed an order online and was charged for it, then go to the store to pick it up. the order is not ready, because it's not in the system, despite charging my card and confirming that I was at the correct location. We stopped here on the way back from OHare, and were so glad we did. Roti offers a great selection of fresh food, which is just what we needed after days of exhausting travel. The menu offers wraps, bowls, salads, and even pizzas that are inspired by Mediterranean flavors. Their options are highly customizable and the person behind the counter helped us navigate all the options. All the options are great if you are coming with a big group with varying dietary preferences or with kids. Food was ready super quick too! This place is really good! I tried the falafel and chicken (separately) in a bowl with veggies and it was very tasty. Both the chicken and falafel were very well seasoned on their own but I love sauce so I eat my bowl with a red chutney type sauce and a yogurt tzatziki sauce. To me the sauces take the meal to another level. I strongly recommend that you don't leave this place with out getting the sauce. I also tried the pita bread and chips with hummus which I wasn't crazy about it. It's not bad just standard. Still, definitely give this place a try and don't forget the sauce! read more

I ordered a chicken plate to go and when I got home I couldn't believe how burned my meat was ! It was literally black ! It was way over done and dry ! Not appetizing at all! I couldn't finish my meal ! I wasted my money and threw everything out after 3 bites ! It's was not edible ! I can't believe they don't even realize how badly burned and over cook the meat was and still plated my meal! They just don't care ! Very disappointed and will not return !
