I used to love this place. Natalie (one of the managers) has such a bad attitude. I called to make a phone order and she hung up on me. When I called again she seemed irritated that I had some questions about their changed menu and was very short with me. Maybe it was busy in the restaurant but there is really no excuse to be disrespectful and condescending to customers. Sad to say that I will never go here again. I live in Upland but rather drive a bit to the Rancho location for better service for the same food. read more

Stingy ... that's the one word to describe this Panera. They've gotten more and more stingy each weekend we've visited. Not only did they change the type of lettuce on the Green Goddess Cobb salad (because they probably ran out of the mix of other greens) but I also asked for extra pickled onion in lei of the bacon. What do I get? Less than the normal amount to begin with along with a few slices of chicken. I mean it tasted "okay" but literally can make something way better at home in less time. As for the tomato mozzarella flatbread, they switched my mom's and mine - one had pesto the other didn't. In addition, the bread itself was soggy - had no shape and no real texture - and the amount of mozzarella was scarce. The only saving grace was the tomato tapenade. I ended up just dumping it all into my salad bowl. read more

This place closes at 6 apparently. Hours are wrong. Consistently can't order online even though every other location will.

Overall food is fine, although they are inconsistent when items are ordered online. We have now had 3 separate orders missing at least one additional topping/item in which we paid extra. Disappointing to say the least. read more

I dine at this Panera often and for the most part, the staff is helpful BUT there is a manager by the name of Aaron here that is soo rude!! I placed an order for pick up and I asked to add a bowl of soup and I would pay for it. He was so rude to me and told me that he could not do that and that I would have to wait at the end of the line seeing that I was in a hurry to go to work. I asked for a refund and he pretty much threw the change at me. He said he had to take care of the customers as if I wasn't a customer! We go here all the time and I have to say I am extremely disappointed...I pre ordered two loaves of Challah bread for our family Rosh Hashana celebration..I called in last night and placed my order to a live person...got a receipt and showed up today at my pick up time...the manager Claodia said I'm sorry we are out of Challah..I said no I pre ordered it last night and even have the receipt! She said I'm sorry our system was down last night..I said well who took my order then she must have written it down? She said I was here last night but I wasn't the one who talked to you...I said well who was it? She said we have a lot of people who work here..I said well you are the manager you must know who was on your shift last night right? She just stared at me...I doubled checked the receipt and thought maybe I placed the order at the wrong store? I asked if she could confirm the store phone number to match what's on my receipt and she said I don't know the number here...but you are the manager why not? Cmon Panera, this lady is one of the worst managers I've ever seen, and was clearly not capable of taking care of a customer who was wronged..I will not support a business that treats customers this way...I asked for a refund and she wrote my name down I wanted it right then and there but she said she would need to do it later...I mean cmon! Went to Panera to pick up some chicken soup for my son that has been sick for a few day. He doesn't have much of an appetite so I thought I'd try getting him a soup. Order 2 bowls of chicken soup to go. I got home and realized they gave me broccoli soup which I knew my son would not eat. On my way back to Panera I tried call the store to let them know of the mistake and that I was on my way to pick up the chicken soup. I had to call 4 times before someone answered the phone. The guy that answered said "we can only exchange the soup"... he made it seem like I was asking for free food. I walked into the store with the broccoli soup. The guy made me wait for his manager to approve the exchange. Really!! This was their mistake and they were acting like I was trying to pull a fast one on them. In the end I got my chicken soup with no apology for their mistake. The guy then tried to tell me that I can keep the broccoli soup, I said "no thank, my son won't eat it. You can toss it." Panera do better!!! Managers and employees need more training with customer service. read more

On my way to Palm Springs this morning for work, I stopped to get a coffee and a bite to go. I ordered a turkey sausage/egg white/spinach breakfast sandwich. I love their hazelnut coffee, and it hit the spot for my long drive. The sandwich was pretty damn good too. Service was decent. Bathroom was kind of dirty, not a good sign. I thought that was great customer service and ever since then I made sure every staff meeting Panera is catering. The girl who takes orders in the evening is so unbearably off-putting, like I just want to use the kiosk here but it'd be rude if I did if there's no one in line lol, so I'm forced to interact with her and it's never a fun experience. It's a nice place food and coffee are good. The problem is the tables aren't clean properly, the plates, cups, even the napkins get stock to them. I notice that when the employee "goes to clean them" he just throws the trash to the floor, I had to use wet napkins to try to get rid of the stickiness of the table we were at. I'm giving a star bc you can't give ZERO stars. Walked in and there is no one at the register. I wait and a girl who's doing something with carts says "do you know what you want?" In a very rude tone. Yes I do, I reply. She comes over and says nothing and I give her my order. She says here's your receipt. I walk over to the side where you get your to go orders. When I'm called I ask the man behind the counter for butter and before I finish he says, in a rude tone "butter is right there in the black container" and walks away. I don't know who manages this store, but you're not training your employees to be respectful, kind or courteous to the people paying their salary. When I went to pick up my food there was a man complaining to the staff about how all the spoons were dirty and that they needed new ones! I should have turned around and god a damn refund! I have never had a bad experience at a Panera. The food is pretty good and the service at this location is always exceptional! The people are helpful and courteous. I really can't stress how good the service is at this location. If you're a student, it's a good spot where you can start reading/studying and not be interrupted for hours BTW, go for the coconut macaroons. They are absolutely to die for. Just tried them for the first time. MINOR CON: Only thing is that at times there are homeless people that will ask you for money while you're eating. Simply told them no and they will continue on. For the 3rd time in a row visiting this location, they are always out of something we want... tomato soup, different breads, bread bowls, etc. Today they didn't have half of their yummy brewed teas. The restaurant seemed run down and service was not great. The good was just "okay" and overpriced. Oh, and there was quite a wait to order because 5 of the six computer terminals to order were out of service. This seems silly, but they brought a metal knife, but only a small plastic spoon for the soup. They were out of metal spoons?!?? It wasn't crowded so that seems odd. Panera. This place is just underwhelming. The food, the atmosphere. The food is mediocre and over priced. They cater towards people who are drawn in by their "Clean eating" promise. Everything has been ok. The sandwiches, they are small and mostly bread. Soup, decent. Salads also decent. I've been here a handful of times hoping my stance will change but it won't. I'd rather go to The Spot in Upland if I wanted to pay this much for "clean food" because there is more imagination to their food. The dining room is also just fine. However if it's a nice day go eat outside. That's the best part of the restaurant, the incredible view of the mountains. I am grateful and happy that a new Panera Bread opened near my work. Yes the lines are long during lunch but it is worth it to wait; their food is amazing! For breakfast I recommend their soufflé with bacon and a cinnamon crunch scone, lunch/dinner their asiago steak sandwich. I always buy their loaves of bread to make sandwiches at home. They provide great service from the time you walk in until you walk out. And please give them a break, they recently opened. Overtime they will turn out even better! read more

My mom and I went here to grab coffee and muffins on our way across country. I've been to Panera before, and the food is decent for a chain; the bread is fresh too which I like. The five star review here is specifically for Aaron, the young man at the front counter. He was wonderfully friendly and seemed to be in a great mood and it was infectious. It brightened my whole day and woke me up before I even took a sip of the coffee. I work in the service industry and I was just so very impressed with his cheerful demeanor and helpfulness really impressed me. I ordered the Asiago Streak sandwich here and the bread was okay , but there was hardly anything in this sandwich!? There were only two ( very thin sliced ) strips of steak meat--on one side of the bun , hardly any lettuce , one thin tomato slice and strip of red onion. Whoever put this together obviously never made a good sandwich before , or they were told to skim on sandwich toppings by the management. Other than that the sandwich prices are about average in comparison to other places in the vicinity, and they're dining area has a good atmosphere. Normally I'd say I love Panera bread, but I haven't gone in months. This morning I ordered breakfast to go which included a breakfast sandwich with egg whites, avocado, arugula (but looked & tasted like spinach, which is fine), and white cheddar cheese. I also ordered a steak & egg breakfast bagel for my boyfriend. The avocado on my bagel/sandwich was browned and the egg white had no seasoning whatsoever, so I didn't even eat half of it. The steak on my boyfriend's sandwich had a lot of fatty pieces and he even found a hair on the bagel part. Suffice it to say I'd choose Starbucks for breakfast over Panera any day, which is a shame because I never had a problem with them months ago but this was unacceptable. read more
