The cook brought out a dish with 2 pieces of fried shrimp, we thought it was complimentary and thought it was so sweet of them. Considering , I've worked for a company who offers complimentary services to earn customers businesses, it's something I am used to doing for my own customers. Turns out, they charged us for it anyways even if we didn't order. We were the only ones in the building too. So after planning to give them a BIG tip for the gesture we assumed, we thought that was messed up they charged us for the dish we didn't order. That's not customer service. The customer is the boss. With our company , we take care of our customers because we want to not earn what's in their pocket that day to make a sale. We want to earn them as a regular customer so that they will come back & that's how you run a business. This is why we have happy customers. Not how you run a business. Punishing the customer for their own crew's mistakes, isn't morally right. And charging $8 for 2 skinny pieces of shrimp, I guess the $8 was more important to make the sale instead. I always get their chicken pho, and it comes with additional steam vegetables like cabbage and carrots so if you don't like that, you can request yours without any. The Pho Ga (chicken pho) is delicious. There is a lot more chicken in here than some of the other pho restaurants I've been to. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I had to take this to go but it was well worth the almost $20 I'm very happy with this meal. I'll be dining here as much as I can in the future. The Pho broth was a miss for me; it was good but you could tell it had a lot of oil in it based on the separation. The noodles and vegetables tastes fresh; which was a nice plus. The Tofu Spring Rolls were delicious, but they put I believe garlic oil (based on the description) in them which I had asked to be removed - they were too greasy for my liking. I would give them another shot to dine in; and see if the order is more accurately followed. Well, I had another phò craving and happened to be in the area of Phò King, a house I've seen several times and hadn't had the opportunity to try. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be underplaying it. I ordered the ohò dac biet and a side of nem nuong rolls. I was in heaven for the next 49 min. The broth makes or breaks a good bowl of phò and this broth was rich and fragrant. Everything was well presented and the young Viet staffers were very attentive. I came in about 8:50 pm on a Thursday, looking for something much better than a fast food burger. I'm glad I stopped here. I was promptly seated and brought a menu and water. I took a bit to look over the extensive menu, and settled on B2 (I hope that is the correct number), which was a beef dish over noodles with lots of fresh garnish on top and a side of sauce. The bowl was not only beautiful, it tasted AMAZING. Very fresh, crispy garnish vegetables on top and nicely charred thin strips of beef. I'd defimitely be inclined to order that again, but maybe not until I had made it through the rest of the menu!! So sad to have to give this an even lower rating. The food? What we got was great but this is the SECOND time we did not receive what we ordered. We love this place and their wait staff and so we decided to give them another try. I guess I deserve a sticker on my back that says "Sucker." Because that is what I am. Placed a $118 order and received probably $98 of it. Ordered 2 bun bowls. Received only 1 and that one was incomplete. Where was the lettuce, the extra sauce? Certainly not in our bag. My husband said it wouldn't be so bad if the food wasn't good but it is and so you miss it if they don't include it in your order. My advice? Do NOT ORDER DELIVERY!! Came here a couple weeks ago and had a pretty Pho King nice dinner. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. Was too hot for outside, but on a fall night it would be so nice. There's a fireplace in this outside area too, so definitely planning to come here for dinner when it cools down. I ordered the chicken pad thai. I have gone here a couple of times the past few years but it seems like I've seen more things that needs to be changed. Food is ok but portions seems to be getting smaller, but I guess that comes with the current economy. One of the things that really gets me is how rude some of their servers seems to be. A few months ago we had dinner here with friends.The two ladies in our group just wanted to ask about the specials that they had, our male server was very rude in his response and was getting irritated when they were asking questions. The broth is exceptionally flavorful, however the amount of cloves can be a bit overwhelming if you're sensitive to the flavor. We ordered Banh khot, Banh Xeo, Pho & Vermicelli Bowl. The wait for my Banh khot and Banh Xeo was very long. My family finished their food and I was still waiting. Pho: Tastes okay Banh Knot: Very powdery Banh Xeo: I requested for this dish to be made without bean sprouts due to allergies, but they still included the bean sprouts. Vermicelli Bowl: Beef was very chewy and fatty. They may have sliced the beef with the grain, which made the texture extremely tough. Overall service was slow and bad. My experience at Pho King Upland Ca Date Wednesday January 10th 2024. I Ordered a Large seafood Pho Soup over the phone. In the same shopping center there's a Chick-fil-A. I decided to get some Chick-fil-A for Dinner for the rest of my family. While I was waited for my Pho soup to be made. After getting Chick-fil-A for my family. I headed over to Pho King to get my pho soup. It's a very small place. I went up to the register.There was a man in front of me. The guy behind the register started talking to the guy in front of me and I heard the guy in front of me say Pete picking order for Pete. To the guy behind the register. There is a woman standing behind a register, who had some tattoos on her arms. I am assuming she was the owner or the manager. When the guy in front of me left, I talked to the woman with the tattoos in her arms,. And I asked for my order. Well it turns out that the guy behind the register gave my order to the guy in front of me, Either by mistake, or by incompetence. As soon as the woman with the tattoos, found out that my order was given to the wrong person. She started talking down to the guy behind the register. It was pretty embarrassing, standing there, watching this woman talk down to her worker . She basically was scolding him like a little kid and talking down to him several times. While I stood there waiting for them to figure out the situation.There was other people eating in that small little restaurant. That could hear her scolding this guy because it's such a small place. It was extremely embarrassing for the worker for me for everybody. The whole situation, watching this lady talk down to the worker regardless, if the worker was a dumbass and screwed up by giving my order to someone else.This woman didn't need to treat him like that. Extremely embarrassing the whole scene. This woman with the tattoos decided to have someone make my order again. So I had to stand there, waiting for them to remake my order.Now remember I had Chick-fil-A in the car that was for my family's Dinner that was literally getting cold. And I did let this place know that. I had just picked up some food and it was in the car.Because I had to wait for these people to remake my order. My order was $16.70 When my order was finally brought out from the kitchen I got charged, but this woman didn't give me a discount they didn't even apologize for everything they didn't offer me a free drink. Nothing just literally charge me the amount and gave me my food.The whole situation was bad. I give this place two stars and the middle finger because of the Lack of professionalism the lack of customer service.The whole experience was just bad. I will not be returning to this place there's so many other Pho Soup places everywhere. That I can take my hard earned money to. This place does not know how to treat their employees very unprofessional. You just can't be yelling at employees in front of customers while they're dining or waiting for their food.
