Used to come here all the time. Ever since they released the "Gyros" I think they're in over their head. I had 45 minutes to get lunch today and I came in with a craving for a Jimmy Johns sandwich and planned to eat in. Came in and they told me it would be a minimum of 20 minutes to get a sandwich made. That's not "freaky fast"! So we left and drove all the way to the La Verne location. Took our sandwiches to go and I didn't get to eat until after my next slew of meetings. Too bad.

Totally tuna

Stopped in to Jimmy Johns after getting off the freeway for a leg stretch and coffee run. There was only one person working that afternoon, but he was very friendly. We sat at a table, which there are plenty of. Nice and clean. Even the single bathroom was clean. Funny bathroom signs too, lol. My parents split a chicken bacon ranch and I split a tuna sandwich with my daughter. It was all very fresh and delicious. Definitely one of the best sandwich places to eat at.

This Jimmy John's location is a little sleeper as compared to some of their other locations. Or, maybe it was just the end of the day and shift. LOL Whenever I'm up in the Upland/ Rancho area, I try to pickup a sub for later or the next day. Today, I got to chat with the three member crew working. The service was friendly and pretty chill.

One person working through the lunch rush. Taking orders and making sandwiches. Wow

One person working during the lunch rush is insane!!! This poor guy, I will say who was positive and great. But making people wait that long for their sandwiches. When they're on their lunch break, is insane. Plus, the quickest way to lose business. I knew it was a franchise the moment I saw one person working. The quickest way to lose business and money, not grow it. Because I won't be back and I'm sure half the people in there waiting wouldn't either.

One slice of turkey meat

First off, there is only one employee working, very nice guy but he really talks too much while people are waiting to place an order. So we wait and wait for him to finish with 1 customers, finally we're up, place our order, then he decides to take another order before starting ours, talks and talks to her for awhile. Starts making our 2 large sandwiches,no chips or drinks (33.00!). I'm thinking ok these are going to be really good! Nope, get home, the tuna was very watery and extra fishy smelling(gross)and the turkey was good, but only one slice of meat! I'm not kidding, one slice of turkey. We will never be returning to this location.

My friend paid 13 bucks for this sandwich and a pickle...and I just couldn't get over how small it was to the point that I had to take a picture. So little meat in the sandwhich- it's like Chipotles meat giving game but even worse than that. You cannot charge people that much for a sandwich and then put that little substance in the bread. 12.98 for bread dude?? Like you know it's bad when I wasn't even the one ripped off but I still had to say something for the people

2nd visit after trying JJ for the 1st time last week. First visit was so good i had to come back and make sure it was for real. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the Italian sandwich recommended was great. Fast forward to my 2nd visit and it was better than the first. Store was clean and Michael was exceptional friendly and super helpful. I tried the Italian again and this time he suggested toasted. Man toasted took it to another level and it was the best sandwich I've tasted in a long time. I'm hooked and will be back. Keep up the great work!!! Kudos to Michael!

Came in here for a late lunch and James's greet me right away. I haven't been here in a while so I didn't know what the menu look like. It was patient with me. Explain to me what comes with what I asked for an Italian nightclub no salami. He was happy to make that even after he started making it, I didn't want oil vinegar. He said no problem. Great service would definitely come back. Ask for Jake.

Came and put my curbside order in. Took them just about 30 minutes to get my order was parked right in front! Watched the 2 employees talk. Take time to have a drink. A period of no customers. Called and the young man confirmed they had the order it was coming out shortly. 20 minutes later.... Finally comes out. Literally the worst service here! Go to another location this place is not worth

#9 ITALIAN NIGHT CLUB

Came into the Jimmy John's in Upland and found out there was only one employee working because everyone else had called out. Despite being on his own, Jesse was incredibly sweet, kind, and welcoming! He stayed friendly and talkative the whole time, and still managed to make my food perfectly. Big shoutout to Jesse for holding it down and giving great service -- he deserves some serious appreciation!

The General Manager says this store is open but for more than a week they haven't taken online orders, the lights have appeared to be off (during lunch time) and the phone just rings and rings. Has anyone gone and found the store open?

This store was temporarily closed, they are currently open but close at 3pm.

Did this Jimmy Johns permanently close?

I was really looking forward to trying this Italian Deli for some highly recommended sandwiches…read more They have just about any kind of Italian food item you can think of and the sandwich meats are fresh-sliced. Those my only positive comments from my first visit. I came on a Saturday so they might have been busier than normal. I had to wait quite a while for my number to be called and then I had to wait even longer because the server had to correct a mistake on the previous order. There was no place to sit and my knees were hurting from the wait. Once helped, the young man who wrote down my order walked toward the food prep area and almost immediately yelled that he was taking a break. The young man who prepared my three sandwiches seemed inexperienced and unsure how the sandwiches were made. I remained hopeful. I took the sandwiches to the cashier in another area of the store. She was young but cordial and asked if I wanted the sandwiches in a bag and I said, "yes please", only later to realize I was charged for the bag. As many other reviews mention, this business has amazing potential but the customer service is sorely lacking. There are obvious deficiencies in training and supervision. Now, about the sandwiches. The bread is tasty but VERY hard (almost stale). This is much different than all other sandwich places and I was not expecting it. I was very disappointed that one of the sandwiches was completely wrong and not the way I ordered it. I will say the sandwiches were a good value but the poor customer service and incorrect order will prevent me from returning. I hope your experience is better than mine!

I wanted to surprise my wife by bringing her lunch at work, and since she has a student teacher helping her, I even thought it would be nice to grab an extra sandwich for them as well. When I walked in, the restaurant had just opened and it wasn't busy at all. I approached the counter and told the employee I wanted a Padua Special and a salami and cheese sandwich, but I was waiting for a quick text from my wife to confirm the third sandwich. This only took about a minute. After placing the order, I noticed on the menu that the salami and cheese sandwich normally comes with mayo, which my wife doesn't like. I politely asked if they could please leave the mayo off. At that point, the older woman making the sandwiches started visibly reacting--shaking her head, shrugging, and acting irritated. I let it go because I was just looking forward to getting the sandwiches and heading out. A couple of minutes later I got a call from my brother (who works with me), and since I was already there I asked if he wanted a meatball sub. He said yes, so I went back to the counter and politely asked if I could add one more sandwich to my order. That's when the situation became very uncomfortable. The older woman making the sandwiches began shaking her head, throwing bread around, and acting extremely frustrated. I asked if there was a problem, and she said she had already started the sandwiches. I explained that I wasn't asking to change anything--just to add another sandwich. I didn't understand why that would be an issue, especially since it was simply an additional purchase. Her attitude continued, and the interaction made me feel unwelcome and embarrassed. At that point I considered just walking out, but my wife was already expecting lunch from this place, so I stayed. When I went to pay, I asked the cashier who the older woman was, and I was surprised to learn that she is the owner. Honestly, I was floored. As a business owner myself, I can't imagine treating paying customers this way--especially when they're ordering multiple items and spending over $60. My wife and I have been coming here for years and always enjoyed it, but after this experience I don't think I'll be returning. No customer should feel like they are bothering a business simply for placing an order or asking for a small modification. If I could offer one suggestion: the owner should avoid direct customer interactions if they're going to react this way. Customer service matters, and today's experience completely changed how I feel about a place we used to enjoy.

But it's easy to see how this can rub people the wrong way, especially if they're used to American (or even modern German) - style customer service. Everyone who found this rude is making reasonable statements. But to me this is more a case of people who have been doing the same thing for a long time without making updates. Decor-wise, place also seems to recreating the Germany that someone remembers from decades ago. The blue and white bunting, the beer steins, the picture of the Pope and other memorabilia make the place feel distinctly Bavarian, in a touristy way. A lot of places in Germany, even in the more traditional south have moved on. But my hope is that this place does continue until the proprietors retire with dignity or sell the business to some German-Americans with a passion for prepping and selling this type of food.

Of those dishes deemed but middling, the wagyu tacos and pigs in a blanket lacked that wondrous spark upon the tongue. Lastly, the dry-aged ribeye, though served with seasoning apart, did taste somewhat over-salted to mine palate.
