Mary and I stopped in to try the new flat bread pizza. All COVID-19 requirements were in place. Friendly staff took our order. We tried the chicken, bacon, chipotle pizza and the Margarita pizza. Both were tasty but nothing special.

This has some Caesar dressing on it but doesn't actually count as a Caesar salad.

Had an underwhelming lunch experience here today. They have an automated ordering kiosk system now with buzzers and today, my buzzer didn't work. After quite awhile I went to the kitchen window and my food was sitting there on the counter, getting cold. So I get my food and sit down; no spoon was provided with my soup. I go looking for silverware around the soda area and there's nothing, so I have to go back to the kitchen window again and ask a cook for a spoon. There was zero staff at the front or back of the restaurant to help with any issues. The food itself was not great. I ordered a half Caesar salad and what I got was a spinach/arugula/red lettuce mix with a bland Caesar dressing and no parmesan added (other than what was already in the dressing). The cup of chicken noodle soup tasted okay but was way too salty. Then I had to bus my own dishes. I remember a couple years ago this Panera had staff who would bring your food out to your table and the quality of the food itself was much better.

Always disappointing and over priced. There are so many better local sandwich shops in town, I would not waist your time

Every contact I've had with Grain Shed employees has been more than pleasant; they truly seem to enjoy working there, and take good care of their customers. I need to shout out to Toby and Audrey before I go on. They each provided 110% on customer service, being personable and making sure we left happy. On 2 separate trips to Spokane, I've visited the Grain Shed 3 and 4 times over the course of 3 days (yes, if you do the math, I went twice in 1 day, and the restaurant was NOT just around the corner!) Everything I've tried is delish, but in case you have to limit yourself, I highly recommend the OG, the beets and feta toast, the bread flight with sauces and cheese, the molasses ginger cookie, and maybe a chocolate croissant. I've heard their bread pudding and pumpkin pie (holiday special) are out of this world! I tried to get over to listen to their live music before leaving town, but still need to squeeze that into my schedule. Travelers: save space in your luggage for a loaf of bread. Sadly, no shipping at this time, but I'm waiting for it! This SoCal resident is officially The Grain Shed's #1 fan. I dare any of you to try to take away my title!

The Grain Shed does a farm to table model and is a bakery and brewery. I got a snack here along with a beer and left quite satisfied. I got a Grilled Cheese Sandwich on some of their house made bread with some Cheddar, Swiss and Provolone cheese. The exact name for this sandwich is the Cheesy Toastie. And of course moving on to the beer... the primary motivator to come here. I got the Kölsch beer here called Field Trip. I do love a good Kölsch as they are nice, light bodied beers. And they are especially nice in the summertime. Flavor features in this beer is maltiness, breadiness, a bit of hoppiness and a dry finish. Another beer that Steve and I tried was the INWPA which was a Pale Ale. It was also a nice light bodied beer which again hit the spot despite it being a different drinking session. Flavor characteristics in this beer is citrus, a yeastiness, hoppiness and a biscuity trait. Good beers and sandwiches and we are aiming for a return whenever we are in Spokane again.

Tonight two people of our party had pho and one said it was the best by far, and the other felt that our usual haunt in Hawaii was more to her liking. I wasn't able to taste their broths but by smell alone, it smelt really delicious. My dinner, the boneless sweet/sour chicken with fried rice, was a good sized plate. (See attached pic). So much so, it will be a decent snack later on tomorrow in the form of leftovers. The service is what I want to also comment on. The staff was very welcoming and the food came out fast. Please also note that their "spring roll" is what most people call a summer roll. Their deep fried spring roll is called an "egg roll" on their menu so make sure you know what you want and order accordingly. All in all, it was a great experience and we will come back again on our next visit.
