So I have in general had pretty decent experiences with Panera Bread. Today, not the case. This was our first time eating at this location. I ordered the Frontega chicken panini. There was a large chunk of cold chicken inside. When I took it to the counter, I was told there was no possible way their chicken could be raw because after they cook it, it is heated back up by the panini press. This piece was still cold and very very pink. Everything my boyfriend ordered was delicious, I just wish they checked their shredded chicken for raw meat... very unappealing. read more

Woo hoo! So happy to have a Panera in Slidell! 3 words: Cinnamon.Crunch.Bagel. Oh yes, with hazelnut cream cheese. Went on Tuesday and they were fairly busy with plenty of smiley new employees who were very eager to help. I hope their enthusiasm sticks around! :) I also like their frozen mocha drink. I haven't had lunch there yet, but if it's just like any other Panera, I'll be happy with any sandwich made with Tomato Basil Bread!...Smells and tastes so yummy! I've worked at Panera. Bread is made in a factory somewhere and dough is driven to stores every night. Then it is baked. Turkey and ham are pre packaged like what you find at Wal Mart. All other meat is frozen. Cookies and pastries are also frozen and baked. Pasta is frozen and microwaved. The soups are also frozen and heated up. Most things here are not fresh nothing is actually cooked! Don't waste your money here go get the same stuff fresh somewhere else and for cheaper! This is just fast food like anywhere else, just a different kind. read more

I cannot express how ecstatic I am that Panera is now in Slidell. The location is very centrally located and easily accessible (though the parking lot is currently is a bit small given the popularity of Panera). They have a great selection of menu options, including several healthy/low calorie options. That is great because one of the allures of Panera is their desert selection! Clean, efficient and fresh food. First came across Panera only 2 years ago and was impressed by it and still do. Had a classic salad, a Mediterranean flat bream and a pesto pasta. All cam out greaT and fast considering it was smack middle of lunch time still that did not matter in the service timing. Definitely consider buying the company stock. read more

Absolutely loved the place. I brought my laptop, and had lunch with the husband. After we had a great lunch with the Chipole Chicken Panini, and I had the chicken Avocado BLT, everything was fresh, and the ice tea was awesome. After I wrote a little while I went back for coffee and desserts. All great and to die for.. I highly recommend everyone to try it even if it's just for desserts. I can't wait to go back it's my newest favorite outing, because I can enjoy a good cup of coffee, lunch, soup or sandwich and write in a corner. read more

I liked how friendly and courteous all the staff were. The cashier who took out order was very patient and detailed. The ladies who served the order were very friendly too. I thought that soup was a little warm but not hot, even considered taking it back to ask for it to be reheated. Both of the Italian sandwich orders were supposed to have pickles but did not have them. Overall, I like Panera Bread. I also liked the choice of drinks - iced coffee and tea that you can pour as much as you'd like, mango tea, coffee, delicious. Their bakery has excellent choices. read more

I ordered a sausage, egg & cheese on an everything bagel and they gave me a bacon, egg and cheese on an Asiago bagel? It even said the right order on my ticket, so I guess they just completely ignored it and made whatever sandwiched they wanted instead. I've been a couple of times and the service inside the restaurant is amazing however the drive thru may need a little work. I had one person in front of me and spent 15 to 20 minutes in line for a iced coffee!! The lady in front only had a small bag handed to her so I know it wasn't a big order. I was about to call the store and tell them that the line is taking way to long. Even the man behind me was trying to back out of the line because of how long it was taking. When I finally got to the window I told the lady that it took way too long and she cocked an attitude and said "they took too long", pointing to the people in the kitchen. When I got my iced coffee it was watered down and they told me they charged me for a frozen coffee on accident. The food there is great but that drive thru line is ridiculous. read more

My husband picked up lunch for me the other day. Usually the soups are decent enough (I had creamy tomato that day which was ok, but not great), but the half sandwich was absolutely terrible. What was supposed to be a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato was a hard mess. The crusts were blackened so hard as to be inedible. There was only a scant bit of cheese (burnt also) and two paper thin wisps of bacon (which were, ironically, not cooked through). It was basically a burned tomato sandwich. Gross! And, true to this location's form, they did NOT include my piece of baguette... nor the apple that my husband requested. Overpriced, lacking in quality. I have no intention of spending my money with Panera when I can get a terrific and truly fresh lunch at a number of locally owned shops - that will have more food, usually for less money. read more

The other day I visited the Panera in Slidell. When I entered I wasn't sure about the prices, the food seemed fairly average, but that was before I sat down to eat. Only just when I started eating did the associate Justin come out, that's when I found out I wasn't paying for the food but for the experience. The associate walked around the front for a few moments, picking up napkins that were on the floor in quite the sexy manner. My heart nearly burst before he walked back behind the counters. I thought 11 bucks well spent, but when I was getting ready to put my dishes away, Justin came back to help me I tried to throw more money at him but he refused and told me about a donation box near the register. Overall if I lived in Slidell I'd come here everyday. read more

Honestly I really love the food at Panera at whatever location I go to it's always good. Everybody is always friendly. But I swear the people that work at this Panera get dumber and dumber. I went through the drive thru and order 2 You Pick Two's and got a Large Green Tea. The girl at the drive thru, her name was Alex, didn't give me my drink and then said it wasn't on her screen and said I never bought one... and just handed me a small. I specifically told her I ordered a large and I seen it on the counter next to her. Then she continued to argue with me and said I never even ordered it, even after I showed her my receipt that says LARGE GREEN TEA on it!!!! I've previously worked at a Panera before I know it would have shown up on her screen and the Barista's screen. I don't know what kind of people are hired here now but that was annoying. It was just a drink but the girl didn't have to be annoying and argue with me over it even when I showed her the receipt. Maybe she can't read....Idk read more
