Have yall ever been sad when you receive your plate? I mean like buyer's remorse, you get teary eyed, and start throwing a tantrum. If you like that, go to Panera, home of the baby sandwich. If I would have known that my Steak and White Cheddar Panini was the size of Donald Trump's hands, I would have went across the street to Torchy's Tacos and ordered me an adult sized burrito canon. But no, I got a damn happy meal at Panera and they didn't even have the courtesy to give me a damn toy. I put my hand on the panini and said, "Do you feel in charge??" And I almost grabbed that pigeon sized sandwich and almost threw it to one. For the high price tag that Panera throws around for a sandwich, I expected more than a kid's meal. I mean, if you guys are honestly pigeon eaters, then yall just hit the gold mine. After I ate my panini and mac n cheese, I nearly died of starvation. The taste is good, but how can I savor it if I eat it in two bites? Panera, yall lost some serious points, your paninis were never that small, last time I'm coming here. read more

We'll, that's it. I'm scratching off my list after paying $21.90 for a friggin chicken sandwich and salad and drink. Took forever to get order ready too for a dine in. SMH. This place will be bankrupt in 3 years nationwide. Their model is over. read more

I've never had the oatmeal here but it was really good. It wasn't hot and I had to reheat it but the strawberries and crunch topping provided just the right amount of sweetness. I also grabbed a hot tea. My cousin loves the soufflés there and she had one. She was in heaven. It's a cute and convenient option. read more

Waited 30 minutes for a completely mediocre sandwich. For $12 I know staffing is hard right now but between the wait and the unimpressive food I'm over Panera. I used to enjoy their paninis. Not even on the menu anymore. Sad decline of a once good restaurant read more

Went to Panera Bread just recently at the forum and looked at the menu and realized that a LOT has changed. It's not the Panera it was before with all the sandwich and soup selections. Anyway, for me, it wasn't a good thing. But that's not to say it's not for you. If you like the place, good. If not, then don't go. read more

For what you get, this place is always overpriced. For some reason, I always walk away hungry from this place. The food is decent. Fresh bread, tasty veggies. But this last time they messed my order up. I was so hungry that I didn't care and ate it anyhow. They offer a variety of soups and sandwiches. It's a good place to get bagels too, but they've messed up my order on that in the past too. Now that I think of it, they rarely get an order right. Watch 'em like a hawk when they're putting your order in. The restaurant is always clean. Parking is easy, and well lit. The restrooms are always in good order. There's free wifi, which makes it a good place to study or relax. I enjoy the artwork. They've taken artists' masterpieces, and transposed paintings of bread over the top of them. It's inviting and pleasant. read more

I was really happy when I found out that San Antonio was going to have their own Panera. The bagels and flavored cream cheeses are great here (suggestions: Cinnamon Crunch with Hazelnut and Asiago Cheese with Sun-dried Tomatoes). Their paninis are really good too, like the Frontega Chicken. =) They also have soups, salads, and smoothies as well as free wi-fi and outdoor seating. It's really comfortable in here and I've never been disappointed with their service. Another wonderful thing to know about Panera is at the end of the day, they donate their unsold items to local charities and organizations. =) read more

We wanted to go out for something sweet. So we went to Panera Bread, and was not disappointed. The Chocolate Duet Cookie with Walnuts or the Shortbread Cookie each were perfect. We got our cookies to go. But, I would recommend staying and having a cup coffee or hot chocolate which always goes good with any of there baked goods. They have different types of bread loaves and they will slice them for you. each loaf running from $3-$5 each. They also serve soups, salads, and sandwiches. Which also look good; from what I saw other people eating. But, to me the real treat are their cookies. The place it self is a very nice and comfortable. There's free WIFI and also a big table that would be perfect for a group study or small group meeting. Overall Panera Bread is a great place to chill or have some good conversation over a baked good and a cup of coffee. read more

Overpriced food!!! Service is good. There was an awful smell when we entered the building.

Last time I come to this location! The remodeled menus behind the counter don't have any descriptions or pictures of the items. Unless you come here regularly you have no idea what bread a sandwich is made with or what it includes!! I ended up going to the kiosk to order since I could tell from the hanging menu what kind of bread the sandwiches were made with. I was here with a friend, they delivered half his breakfast, I went to the bathroom, they ordered the second half of his and picked up the device associated with my order. I explained to the chaser what happened but, Because I ordered from the kiosk, the cashier didn't know what I ordered. He asked my name and went to get the manager. The manager then asked me again to explain what happened and asked what I ordered. By then I was frustrated and couldn't remember and told him to never mind. After a few minutes he came over to my table asked asked my full name and told me my order was still being made. After a while the manager brought my order over. I think the recent remodel really messed with the vibe I'm used to at a Panera and this was definitely not the service I was used to at Panera! read more

Good service but over priced for what it is. Could get a better bisque cheaper at Ruth's, Morton's or Houston Street Bistro...cheaper.

I took my son here for a breakfast date to try something new and different for a change. We were pleasant'y surprised by the variety of choices on the menu and the atmosphere. It was a convenient spot for all types of people - like book clubs or hobby groups gathering for coffee, families, alone time for individuals to read, study or work, and more. I believe that they have Wi-fi connection. It reminded me of a Starbucks, but with more room for the guests to sit and more of a restaurant style, but you wouldn't feel out of place hanging out for a while at the same table, because there are no waiters. It is a self-serve counter, where you order and pick up your food. My son loves the bagels - especially blueberry and chocolate chip. I had a fruit salad and cappuccinno, which was tasty as well. They serve lunch and dinner, and have take out upon request. I returned the following week to check out the dinner selection, and was pleasantly pleased with my food and experience. The Asian Chicken salad was delicious and I knew exactly how many calories were in it because all of the caloric content is listed next to each menu item. That is my absolute favorite thing about this place. It promotes making more informed choices in today's obese society. The kids loved the macaroni and cheese and had just the right portion size. We will definitely be regulars at this restaurant. read more

Just like any other Panera I've been too. Nothing to distinguish it it from m any of the others. Ended up at this particular Panera cause we ran out of choices and time for dinner before returning our newly graduated airman back to base before the appointed time. Not much to say about these places. The meal selection is somewhat eclectic but uninspiring, and though it's good it's not necessarily memorable. Their pastries are good as well and possibly a notch above the dinner selections. My biggest issue are their prices - way higher for the overall quality of the offerings and portions offered up. read more

This particular location has less of a cozy feel from other locations I've visited. I came for late breakfast/early lunch. It was slow to steady, quiet enough to get some work done and not get distracted. The quality of the food was a good value for the price but nothing to come back for. I found it amusing to overhear the staff ordering breakfast and coffee from a neighboring food establishment! Maybe I'll go there next time. read more

Ehh, the more times I go to Panera, the more I come to believe it's just something convenient and quick nothing special at all. If the half sandwich is served on a measly 2.5x4 bread then can I at least get chicken in every bite. Not impressed read more

Let me start things off by saying, if you like Panera Bread; PLEASE GO TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION. I'm a past employee at this location for a couple of years and I can safely say that when our new GM got to this store, everything fell apart. She doesn't care about how the food looks, she made us extend the expiration date on already expired items, etc. all for the sake of "speed" and "shortening ticket times" when in reality, our ticket times had never been worse until she had arrived. On top of serving expired food, the kitchen RARELY gets a good deep cleaning. The back of the house was covered in gnats and flies and it just progressively got worse as the days went by. read more

I love Panera's fresh dood experience. The lines move pretty quickly and the staff is nice. Each time I've gone in there were no lids for to go cups. This location is always pretty busy, so I kind of see why they may not be able to keep up with restocking these items. One guy in the kitchen staff is kind of rude as I ordered a whole wheat roll and received a piece of French baguette. I went to ask for the correct item and the guy in the back seemed offended that I asked for what I had originally ordered. Overall usually have a great experience at this location read more

Haven't been to a Panera Bread in forever! This has been the first Panera I've been to ever since I moved to San Antonio. I used to be obsessed with their multigrain baguettes, bagels, blondies, and broccoli cheddar soup while growing up. Walking in they have screens where you can order something fast as well as two registers with people waiting to take your order. The pastry selection had minimized. Maybe it was just this location. I bought cinnamon crunch and cinnamon raisin bagels. Also, grabbed a bundle of mini scones with orange cream, triple berry, and blueberry flavors. The bagels were still delicious! They make sure the flavors come to life and chewy to the bite. Scones are perfectly sized for two bites each and not too dry where you are looking for something to drink with. Panera hasn't disappointed me! read more

All my life I've had this "thing" about never going to eat at a Panera Bread. I would honestly rather go anywhere but Panera. Unfortunately, Torchy's had a long ass line and my lunch break was already running long so.....there was Panera. I spent 13 dollars and some change on a lame ass half a sandwich and a small ass cup of soup. Was it fresh? No! Did it fill me up? Hell no! Do I regret every minute that I spent in that place and every bite that I took, YES! Never in my life will I ever go back to Panera. Not worth it. read more

What can I say except 'fresh'. Everything we ordered was super fresh like the Italian, Caprese, and Turkey Avacado BLT. The kids loved it too! We really started with the sandwiches, but they serve bagels with cream cheese and soups. They were really delicious and expensive. read more

We stopped by the Basse road location on a Sunday morning with a hankering for a Sticky Bun. They looked good but were slightly stale and at $5 a pop not a good deal. The bagels are large but the cinnamon crunch had a sugar coating which made it too sweet. These bagels are lighter and less dense than a typical NY bagel. They have all sorts of little incentives at the register that increase sales and lighten your wallet. If you sign up for their program you swipe for a prize, in this case a strawberry mini cake for a birthday. Yeh. The pick two, 2 half salads, the Cobb was good, and watermelon Feta was tasty. There's a choice of a baguette or chips. This shop is very expensive on a cost per pound basis. It's a temping, non-nutritious and impulse buy scheme. read more

The baja mac n cheese is so good. I asked for light cilantro and red peppers. I thought of taking a photo of it, too late. At the end of the mac n cheese there is abit of cheese with the pico - I literally scooped it up like I still had mac in there. I got a half of sandwich, Chicken, gouda & avacado - melted - this was super good - fresh everything! Then I got a free dessert because I ordered online and they give you an instant reward. when you log back into the website it is there under rewards. Definately going back, especially on Thursday, they have creamed checkn and wild rice - I ate that yesterday at a clients office. We had a working lunch and I started on the soup and never let up. No shame. read more

We have received consistently bad service at this location--pick-up orders not where they said they would be well after receiving the notice that the order is ready, poor quality veggies, lack or any sense of urgency to assist the customer and make a mistake right. Wow, my husband, niece and I walked in to this Panera location at 3:55 on Thursday June 13th 2019 As we approached the counter, I said hello to the man behind the counter (African American-didn't get names, description only) the man did not reply. He simply walked away and went behind a partition and put gloves on and started to work on something else. Two more employees (short, Skinny Caucasian female with messy ponytail and a Caucasian man with bushy hair tucked under cap), walked behind the counter and said nothing, even when I said out loud to my Husband that no one has even acknowledged us. The girl and guy kept going over whatever it was they were talking about and ignored us. My husband was so upset for the lack of any kind of acknowledgement, not even a "we'll be right with you"... nothing, it was unreal. They didn't seem to care about our business, they're not the ones losing money, their company is. It was pretty shocking read more

DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY FROM HERE!! Not only will it be an hour late, but Alejandro, who calls himself a manager, will be rude to you when you try to find your food. And rude again when you want to cancel it. And rude even more by arguing with you about it. Do not forget that they are more than a delivery place, they are also a store and they are very busy and they only have two drivers and their driver is too busy to get your order to you within a two hour window. The most horrible customer service I have ever experienced. read more

This was my first meal at Panera in over 3 years, due to living overseas. Panera has always had good food, friendly service and a clean facility. Please note the past tense usage. I bought dinner for myself and daughter and we chose the Pick 2 menu with drinks and dessert. Ironically enough, they were out of bread for the soup, so a choice of chips or apple was given. The squash soup was more sweet than savory and had the thickness of kindergarten paste. The broccoli cheddar soup was of similar consistency, however the flavor was as I remembered. Her salad was decent, however the apple given for her side was bruised, wrinkly and had hair on it. My applewood smoked bacon and avacado BLT was 'meh' at best. The bread was stale and dried out, turkey wasn't smoked and tasted like regular roasted poultry with overall flavor lacking. I opened the bag of kettle cooked chips hoping for a crispy crunch. The crunch never materialized and I was sad...much like the entire crew working. My daughters cinnamon roll was dry and stale with the bread looking about 2 days old. My brownie was much better, so we shared. The dining area had dirty tables and dishes that were there when we arrived are still sitting on the same table an hour later. It felt sad walking in here tonight and I am leaving feeling down right depressed. I feel like I spent $27 on 2 lemonades and a brownie, as those were the most edible items we had. I think I will go home and cry from disappointment. read more

This place was recommended by a friend, and after my first visit, I continued to go for the next 2 weeks, maybe more, even thou I was driving 30 min each way to get there. A very nice surprise. I ordered the half sandwich with the Fuji Apple salad. The salad portion is a meal unto itself. It is a collection of greens, dried slices of Fuji apples, candied pecans, sliced tomatoes with a light sweet dressing. Geez, how big is the full salad?! My half sandwich is the roast turkey and avocado BLT on white bread. It fell apart rather easily , but is tasty. Our server explained things very well. When you order, you are offered a pastry for $0.99. This is a great deal since you have your choice of any of the pastries and I didn't see any less than $2.79. Add it on!! read more

I spent a lot of time at Panera Bread while I was in grad school, mostly for the quiet and free wi-fi, and after trying nearly all their sandwiches, I never found anything I really loved on the menu. I finally started coming to Panera for breakfast, and people, that is where it's at! The bagels are so good. Regular bagels are $1.05 (no tax if you take it sliced and toasted) and Signature Bagels are $1.39-ish. From Jalapeno Cheddar, Asiago Cheese, the Everything bagel ... I love them all! I like to buy the tub of cream cheese instead of the individual servings because the individuals are too big for one use, and you get more bang for your buck if you buy the tub. Other favorites are their baked goods--amazing sweets and bread to take home--and their caesar salad is one of, if not the best, I have ever had. Be sure to join the Panera Card program, it's free and you really get lots of stuff! They swipe your card every time you eat there, and they tell you right then whether you have a free bagel, pastry, drink, $ off a meal, etc. Panera is hard to beat. read more

The pizza tastes off, it tastes like someone put a stick of butter in it instead of sauce. It makes me very angry walking into Panera seeing all the no good liberal hippies and all the women that drives Lexus cars and go in there and talk about there hipster coffee. Panera bread has never let me down!! They have an assortment of paninis, salads, sandwiches and soups and some delicious sweet treats for that sweet tooth. Panera has always been my healthier go to for "fast food." They have been incorporating fresher ingredients without preservatives and seasonal items. My go to is the salad and soup combo. You get to choose 1/2 salad and soup for about $10 and get to choose an apple or baguette. You can also add in a dessert for $1! The salads are always so fresh here and I always leave feeling full and guilt free! I would say that Panera bread is better than Corner Bakery for the salad and soup combo. read more

Dear Lincoln Heights Panera... I have a confession to make. I'm new to the San Antonio area. Indeed, I've been here only about a week (if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them... particularly if you're single and have a "y" chromosome... kidding, kidding... sort of...) Anyway, in my short tenure here in SA, I confess to having stolen your WiFi on an almost daily basis. Usually I'm good and try to buy something, even if it is just a measly muffin (hey, moving is expensive!), but I have been known to simply sit in my vehicle with my laptop propped up in a bizarre and not-quite-comfortable position, pillaging your signal from the safety of the parking lot. Thankfully, I'm sly enough as to have avoided recognition by your bicycled security man. In exchange for your internet, I figured I at least owed you a "Yelp" review, now that I have my own shiny new WiFi. In all seriousness, I like your place. Yeah, I know... you're a chain. Chains and I typically don't get along too well. One of those hipster sentimentalities I picked up in North Carolina, I suppose. Regardless, I'll make an exception, if for nothing else but your free and effective wireless network. Still, I have a sneaking suspicion that I'd be a fan even if WiFi weren't on the menu. Your staff exudes warmth and charisma, albeit in a strangely "Pleasantvillian" manner that may just be a part of the Alamo Heights culture... of that, I am unsure. People still say "two shakes of a lamb's tail"? Really? Ah, well. You've yet to mess up my order, so feel free to act upon those First Amendment rights. I'll be back, and not just to steal your internet. read more
