Came here due to me wanting my protein for the day and vegetables! Decided on the two flavors lunch combo (photo). Also, a fly kept trying to land on the plastic plate. The place was pretty much empty and my rice was cold! Didn't feel comfortable on the cleanness of the area and let alone the quality of the food. Rice was cold while everything else was heated a little bit. The place looked like it barely pass food safety inspection. Anyways, I didn't feel comfortable eating the food while a fly kept trying to join me as well. I explained the lady the cold mix & asked her to take the rice out and to heat up the veggies, while the fly flew around us. After she left & disappeared, I decided not to eat there, got up and got as close as possible to their kitchen door and said "it's okay. Canceled that!" And walked out. read more

I've been meaning to come here for the longest time and finally tried it last night. It was incredible. My takeout order was ready super quick and everything was hot and fresh. I got sweet n sour shrimp and everything was amazing. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the egg rolls were flavorful and crispy. Huge portions too I had at least 10 large shrimp maybe more, along with a big serving of rice in a separate container. Unfortunately we brought our delicious meal home and watched the Spurs lose game 4 of the finals. Despite a devastating loss, my spirits remained lifted thanks to this amazing meal from Lee's Garden. read more

Tbh the food was ight. Not gross, not amazing, just kinda mid :/. I got the Orange Chicken w. fried rice & again not bad, but not amazing. Chicken probably had too much sauce, but it was fine. Also the cream cheese rangoons seemed to be lightly filled & served on paper plates, which was funny but weird. Service was fine however, server was very attentive but did tell my friend and I "were the first customers..." when we walked in at like 8:30p. The vibe was abit strange... just 2 friend on a Thursday night eating "cheap Chinese food" when theres a whole Banda/karaoke night going on next door. IT SOUNDS FUN. Just weird, kinda like when in elementary school the room next door won the pizza party your class just has to listen to them having a blast. All in all, wasn't left disappointed nor happy, just kinda like me :/ read more

Was hoping to find a spot that delivers past nine that had a great food. One out of two ain't bad I guess and you never know until you try. On door door dash, takes orders for delivery about 30 minutes before closing. Pupu platter for two didn't include dumplings so we got both. Definitely don't recommend it. Food in it was not that great. Egg roll, rib, Rangoon, plain wings, teriyaki sticks. Rib wasn't really edible, everything else needed some kind of sauce to make it enjoyable. Dumplings were a different kind of friend that you don't normally see when ordering takeout which made it kind of hard to chew. Maybe the actual dishes are better but I can't say that we'll order again to find out personally. read more

Food was completely horrible. Everything was extremely dry and over cooked. From the whole entire pupu platter to the Rangoon's and sweet and sour chickenEverything. So disappointed and pissed. Didn't eat at the place but ordered for delivery. The only thing that was good was the egg drop soup. Definitely do not recommend eating here ever again. read more

The polite man, who I believe is the owner, took the orders, served the food, and checked us out at the register. The restaurant was relatively empty when we arrived, with a couple eating. One man showed up after we had our food, so the waiter was very attentive. Despite having a party of six, the food will serve quickly, and every bit of it was delicious. Despite having a party of six, the food will serve quickly, and every bit of it was delicious. The food portions were more than adequate for the price. Everyone took food to go, which was easy since everything was served in Styrofoam containers. read more

General Lee! This place has a great take-out system- huge portions, delicious food that is just ready to go out the door. The indoor seating at this reastaurant is a bit lackluster. I came in for takeout and saw that every order on a weekend night, when they were swamped- every order was takeout. Nobody seems to actually eat here. Get it and go. The dining room seems a bit depressing- it's small, not many decorations, tables that just look wobbly, a waitstaff that is virtually nonexistant, since they're all working on your food in the back. The staff only emerges when there's a reason to- an order comes out. Nobody comes in and puts in an order, just pick up. Call it in! The food is decent, nothing to write home about. Just large portions of acceptable food. You're not going to go hungry five minutes later with these big portion sizes! I got sweet and sour pork, which I'd be able to eat for two days. The portion sizes are so big you can easily split one dinner plate. The decor here by the register all looks authentic- buddhist shrine and bamboo plants and all make it an authentic Chinese Restaurant. read more

This after only the first visit: I ordered in-house a to-go order. There seemed to be plenty of DoorDashers. The only employee I saw was friendly and cheerful despite being surrounded by patient, yet uncheerful customers. I had the general Tso chicken and even though it wasn't amazing, it was very good and the taste was exactly what I think of when I think of general Tso. If the breading had been just a little crispier, I would've been calling it perfect. It wasn't dry like most other places...I don't know if they're using dark meat or what, but it works. read more

Not a single customer there at 3pm??? I should've seen that as warning. Unfortunately the food was not very appetizing... same vegetables served in the soup as in the stir fry. Served for five in service on disposable to-go containers. I would not recommend unfortunately, although the service was good. Two of the employees (Latinos) were eating their food inside dining area, there lunch, mini tacos, looked better than the Chinese food which is the theme of the restaurant read more

Mediocre. It's your typical breaded chinese cuisine. Family owned which is nice, but they have VERY poor service due to demand and lack of competition in the area. They are not friendly and only care about money which shows in the food. They boast big portions, but the lemon chicken is very dry as if it sits out all day or is fried at high temps to save time. The hunan beef and mongolian beef are made in the same sauce, just less veggies in the mongolian (my gf and i ordered both and got the exact same thing). Then sesame chicken is more bread than chicken. Coming from NY and LA and being here for 3 years now. I wouldn't waste my time here again. Id recommend "Ding How" or "Mencius Gourmet Hunan" over this place. More friendly and better quality read more

Hmmm... I don't like leaving "bad" reviews, I usually just don't write anything. I do not wish to damage reputations and taste is purely subjective... So with that in mind. I was not exactly thrilled w my food. I ordered beef and broccoli and it was standard, Americanized ( that's not really their fault for trying to provide a food service that fits more into the culture here.) I can't really speak much about the service because I had it delivered, HOWEVER... It was fast, it was hot, ample sauces and stuff you'd expect for eastern Asian foods. My kids loved their Fried rice and my fiancee as well, I just felt it missed the mark for me personally. A little bland, but fast friendly delivery. I always order delivery so I also can't speak on the physical store/ambiance. Saving grace, prices are... Decent and they've got a big menu. Lots of choices. Again, this isn't meant to slam this business, I don't do that unless it's WELL DESERVED, (looking at you Simons corner) my family enjoyed their food, I just wasn't very impressed with MY plate. Try it for yourself and you may love it. Prices are definitely competitive, portions are generous. The person who took the order was very professional and helpful. read more

Used to order a ton back in the past, tried again and well lemon chicken was a good size portions but the taste was bland, cooked well, Fried rice was perfectly seasoned with not a lot of soy sauce, Egg drop was delicious. The Egg roll was undercooked and the Crispy Noodles were stale read more

Tried the steamed dumplings and sesame chicken from here! Both were good, but the sesame chicken tasted more grilled in consistency my boyfriend said. Usually, it's fried but the consistency was way different than what we are normally used to. The rice didn't have a lot of flavor but nothing a little soy and hot sauce couldn't fix. Dumplings were good in flavor and only $7.50 for 10! read more

Came here on the way back from Houston I will say the food was pretty good and came out fairly quick, the waiter was very attentive. The owner was also there greeting people, nice friendly environment. I ordered the lemon chicken and my partner ordered the garlic beef, portion size is great and one thing that stood out is the sauces were warm as well. I would recommend stopping by if you are in the area. Thank you to the staff and owner for great service 10 out of 10 read more

If you're looking for a great Chinese food spot, this probably isn't the one for you. This was my first time trying Lee's Garden and I was disappointed. I ordered orange chicken and fried rice which I thought would be safe because it's a common dish, I was wrong. The chicken was bland and rubbery. The fried rice was flavorless and crunchy like it was either old, overcooked, or both. The customer service was good but I probably won't be back. read more

I was a bit scared to try out the food because of the negative reviews I've been seeing but I decided to take the risk and I'm not gonna lie, it was delicious and scrumptious . The Sesame Beef was great and was very flavorful . I had it delivered to me and the delivery guy was patient and kind so I would recommend for their service even though there's a little bit of a language barrier (shouldn't be a big problem though) . Wait time for me was around 20-25 minutes which is pretty decent at least. If you're looking for an authentic Chinese Restaurant, I'd recommend Lee's Garden . Will definitely come again sometime soon read more

Was worried about a couple negative reviews on the biard but the family special and my state of mind told me to try. Glad we did! We were overnight and exhausted at the Fairfield next door, so it was quick and steaming hot. Beef and Broccoli rocked, General Tso's chicken had to have been a whole bird. Rice, crab rangoon, Hot and Sour and Egg drop soups were all fantastic. We'll be back next time we stay next door! read more

Food - the wings were freshly cooked...but pre-breaded frozen like those from food service. You can do better. The triple delight has triple vegetables and two shrimp. Disappointed in quality. Service - second try was still slow and waited 15 minutes later. One person running mostly take out. Ambiance - next to a bar where music drowns out the wearing area. Run down and needs reboot or move. Sorry, not even a three+. Cheap quantity does not override poor quality. read more

This is a pretty good Chinese option. They have large portions, really great sauces and their meat selections are "saucy" which is important. Their cheese ragoons are okay...and their fried rice is fine. One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in town. The General Tso's and Sesame Chicken are delicious. The sauce is sticky and has a nice sweetness to it (which I prefer.) I did takeout on thanksgiving because my go-to American Chinese takeout place was closed (for the first time) This was the only thing Chinese place that was open with "OK" reviews. I ordered American Chinese staples dishes: Beef Brocoli General Tso's Pork & Chicken fried rice Honestly, the only thing I liked was the Pork Fried Rice it had "Wok Hei" and pork they put was EPIC BUT everything else I'd rather go to my "go-to-joint". I really wanted to like this place but the flavors are safe so to me its bland. I'm Asian so this maybe go for some of y'all but this wasn't "umami" for me. read more

The food was good the service however was lackluster they have no plates and no real silverware I got my meal served in a tago tray without a lid and a plastic fork and an African I had to ask for some soy sauce and this was at lunch time and it was $11 and some change and didn't even get a salt and pepper didn't have anything on them I realized the cost of running a restaurant has gone up but this was something else the only thing that stopped me from walking away was that the food tasted good However I don't think I will be going back any time soon oh and I had to wait at the door for about 10 minutes before somebody came out and asked me and by then it was 5 other people if they could take our order and you have to put in your order at the front at the register and pay for it before you're even allowed to sit down read more

I came to Lee's Garden for the first time out of curiosity. I thought it would be average, however, it was the best food I've ever tried in San Antonio especially the shrimp fried rice. What I've heard about this restaurant vary from person to person. It's never a consistent love it, like it, or hate it. But I can only review from my experience from lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. First of all, the place is dank, dreary, and eerily quiet. Almost like a library quiet. First impression when walking in is "is this place even open for business?" The lights were off and there was no one in eyesight. A lady behind the register popped up and took me to a table. The dining area is to the right and that's were maybe 6 customers were. Still, the lights were off and no music, so eerily quiet. I ordered the triple delight plate. It came with an ice tea, fried rice, and choice between an egg roll or crab ragoon. First, the ice tea was weak, just colored water. Okay, no biggie. Next, the fried rice was cold. Not room temp, just plain cold. The entree itself was steaming hot so I figured it would balance out. Now the entree. The chicken tasted like boiled chicken that was tossed together with obviously frozen shrimp and okay beef. The sauce was okay, not the best but not bad. The egg roll was just plain bad. It was as though it was cooked/fries earlier and then kept under a heat lamp. It was not crispy at all. It was tough and chewy. I scooped out the pork and veggies from inside and ate that instead. Overall, a bad experience and would not recommend. For the same price, you can go to golden wok down the road and have a much better meal and experience. read more
