Nice staff and pretty clean, however I have been here several times over the last 2 years and for some reason the last year they cannot keep coffee stocked in the mornings. Its to the point where I'm not coming back. I waited a couple months and came back today and couldn't believe they didn't have Light Roast coffee. This has happened several different occasions. I feel like I've lost about $20 bucks in money spent on coffee and wasn't able to get the coffee I wanted. A couple times they were out of both Light and Dark Roast with the Hazelnut option only. The girls working the cash register ignored us when we walked up, they were too busy playing around and giggling. When the one was taking our order, she would stop paying attention to us to talk to her coworker, going as far to flip her at off her head and laugh obnoxiously while we were standing there trying to ask questions about the menu. I was very excited to learn the the local Panera Bread had a drive through. The cost for food is high but it is good so I went a couple of times. The last time I went I ordered a bread bowl and some other stuff and the bill came to $17.02. When I got to the window the boy there mumbled something about the bread bowl, I asked him to repeat it but still couldn't hear him. He also had a smirky look on his face that made me a little suspicious. I got home - no bread bowl, they added one "baguette" but receipt said they only charged me $9.43. Now I see on my bank account that they DID actually charge me $17.02!!! They RIPPED ME OFF!!! Now they pay, because they just lost a customer FOREVER who they would have made a LOT of money from. They often know of something you can order that is not menu specific, lime bagel with avocado and tomato. If you travel, get your rewards card so you can use it all over the country. I have lived in Rolla for more than 7 years working on my Masters and then subsequently the PhD. I owe a lot to this coffee joint and the wonderful staff for providing me with the unlimited coffee and tasty food. Your brain cells are on hyper active mode when soaking in the majestic rolling hills of the ozarks from this beautiful place. The staff stays with this place for ever and they seem to love helping the customers. I recommend anyone one travelling through i-44 to stop here for a cup of coffee and a nice fuji apple chicken salad. My staple for the last 4 years. read more

July 6th 9:30 am. My wife and I decided to try Panera Bread Rolla again after some time of staying away. I have to say not much has changed except the menu. Huge line of angry customers behind us with one cashier that seems to be doing everyone else's job plus hers. One customer went and asked the manager if they had another cashier to which he rudely answered "NO". Not "I'm sorry I do not have any extra employees at this time." like he should have said! I thought it was the managers responsibility to efficiently run the store and keep customers happy. Obviously not from this manager as he did nothing to move the line faster for his customers standing in line. I love Panera. I had the half Harvest Chicken salad which was new yesterday with spring mix salad, chicken, bleu cheese, pecans, dried cherries, and pears with a cherry vinaigrette. Panera is whatever. Their menu has declined in just the past couple of years. I have to keep trying new things because whatever I end up liking they take away! Broccoli cheddar soup is always good. I don't understand how you're always out of strawberries and lettuce. Isn't that why people take inventory? I don't like it because of the TERRIBLE service--it's slow, inaccurate, and extremely unhelpful. Every time we go, our order is wrong. I'm finally writing today because after 10 or so times in the last 5 years of ridiculous mistakes, I'm sick of it. The last straw for me was a run in with an extremely rude manager working there named Caroline, who needs to be fired. I ordered a smoothie that took a bit too long to make (I was standing there waiting for a good ten minutes and the place wasn't that busy), so I politely expressed my concerns to her. She felt it pertinent to put me in my place with an anger-fueled, not-so-friendly verbal scolding.
